Vista SP1 update - Error code 0x8007312

After not being able to install Vista SP1 x86 from Windows Update on 32-bit ASUS laptop, I downloaded the stand alone Update to a flash drive, disconnected from the internnet, turned off the firewall, exited Defender and w/no anti virus running
tried to install, same error message w/link to

Downloaded to flashdrive and ran Reset Windows Update Tool and System Update Readiness Tool KB947821 w/clean boot, then downloaded SP1 update Windows6.0-KB936330-X86-wave1 from your site
(the other was .........wave0.exe), but still got the same error code 0x8007312 when I tried to Update. What do you suggest I do next? Thank you..

I get the error code 8e5e0147 from windows update while trying to do 8 different updates. ive tried doing different things to fix this that I find online but nothing has help, can someone please help fix this?

I have a Dell PowerEdge T320 that is experiencing this issue: Windows update error Code 80072EF3
I followed instructions in article
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821/en-usand ran the DISM.exe with the offline source (my DVD drive) to avoid using the windows update component that appears to be damaged. Command completed, but no effect on the error.
Last successful update session was 7/8/2014
Security Update for Windows Server 2012 (KB2922229) cancelled. Tried to install manually. Not applicable.
Update for Windows Server 2012 (KB2811660) Failed. When running the manual download get the message it is already installed. Same for KB2855336
Any help appreciated.

Unable to install windows 7 home premium updates error code 643 (KB 954430, KB973688 & KB2538243) - Please help me!!
I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit on a Lenovo ThinkPad E530. This laptop is only brands new.
KB954430, KB973688 & KB2538243 - These three updates keep giving me problems. In Windows Update, under "view update history" these keep showing up as failed. I also get the error, "Code 643".
At the end of the installation it tells me three updates are failed to be installed and when I shut down to try to update, Windows always configures up to ~15%, then fails, and reverts changes, then prompts me to install updates the next time I turn my computer on. Each time, I have to re-install every update that I had installed prior to shutting down.
I went through Trouble shooter - "Fix it" numerous times, Repaired Net framework profile and also followed few instructions I found from the net such as running "Reset Register Windows update Components" but nothing works so far.
I even tried manually installing KB954430 but it told me "An error occurred during the installation of assembly component. 7B30B69B-OE6C-B7EO-A06B-D6B9ABF34537 HR RESULT: 0 x 80070BC9" and the installation bar seems to stop at "Publishing Product information", then rolls back the installation.

From the cc app the preferences option is greyed-out, so I'm not able to sign out and in... yes I'm aware I'm able to update from the app directly. The issue I found in the past is when I updated Lightroom from Lightroom itself, the cc app did not see it as being updated... still saw it as the earlier version. So the app said there was an update and I was trying to go into cc to perform the update instead of the app....
Would be interested in hearing more about the error 43 from Adobe...
I'm attaching two screen shots, one of the error and the second of the greyed-out preference option.

For the update issue, please first take a try with the System Update Readiness tool:
Fix Windows corruption errors such as 0x80070002 and 0x80070057
If the above didn't help, please zip the following files:

Operating system - Vista Home Premium (service pack 1)
Problem - When I try to update from Windows Update (both manual and automatic) I get error code 80070490
I have tried - System restore, downloading and paying for "RegCure" and following instructions on Microsoft forum all without success.
The computer was supplied with a recovery disk which does not have "repair" facility.
If you have a solution that does not involve a full re-load I would be very grateful

This error may occur if the older Windows Update engine files cannot be
replaced by Windows Update Agent 3.0 (7.0.6000.374).
To troubleshoot this issue, I suggest we first reset permission and
reinstall Windows Update Agent 3.0.
Step 1: Reset permission
================
1. Please download the subinacl.msi file from the following link and save
the installation patch onto the Desktop:

2. Please go to the Desktop and double click the downloaded file.
3. Please select the C:\Windows\System32 folder as the Destination Folder
during the installation. Later we will use this tool to reset the permission
settings on the current machine.
Note: If UAC (User Account Control) window is prompted for permission to
continue, please click Continue.
4. Click the Start Button, in the Start Search bar, type: "notepad" (without
quotes) and press Enter.
5. Copy the following commands and then paste them into the opened Notepad

Step 2: Reinstall Windows Update Agent 3.0

1. Please download the file from the following link:

2. Save the file to D: drive.
Note: Please select a drive where Windows Vista was not loaded because the
file cannot be launched directly from the system root directory.
3. Click Start->Run, type: "D:\WindowsUpdateAgent30-x86.exe /wuforce"
(without quotations) and then press Enter to install the Windows Update
engine.
Note: There is a space between "D:\WindowsUpdateAgent30-x86.exe" and
"/wuforce"
Now, let's run Windows Update again.

I have done a clean install of Windows 7 Pro on my desktop. I have installed SP1 and when I check for more updates it finds 17 more but will not install them. I get the 800706F7 error code. I have cleared the update cache but it did not help. Any information
