Vista "still" doesn't recognise sound blaster aud

I know it's been covered to death, but any of the programs suggested will not install because vista doesn't recognise that I have a sound card. Sound blaster audigy 2 + vista home premium. Hi all, Just moved a whole lotta bits from a Dell XPS420 over to a new mobo/case/psu setup.

Okay, most things worked fine when I built it. I didn't reinstall the OS, just booted from the hard dri've. I just had to load the drivers for the Biostar website for chipset, LAN.
Only device that wasn't recognised was the Sound Blaster. I'd disabled on board sound in the BIOS. I thought this odd, as the SB had worked on the old PC, so I knew the drivers worked under Vista.
I re-downloaded the drivers and tried to reinstall, just in case. The driver install claimed no compatable hardware installed and quit. I checked the BIOS/Manual for any way to enable/disable PCI slots, in case this was the issue, no joy.
I then tried an old PCI network card in both PCI slots, just to see if it was mobo or card. The NIC was recognised straight away. At this point, I assumed I'd done something stupid and blown teh sound card. Oh well, get another one, slight upgrade to enable me to us the HDA front audio sockets on the case, which would be handy.
So bought a SB X-Fi Extreme (PCI) card. Installed... and same effect - card not detected. Tried new drivers, tried both slots, nothing. Put the NIC back in - recognised. Either SB card - nada.
Tried cleansweep to remove all traces of Creative sound card drivers - nothing. Tried on-board audio, this works... but DoW II and Red Alert 3 stutter badly, which is what I got from the on-board audio on the Dell XPS420, and prompted me to go sound card in the first place!
I even tried the most extreme option - wipe hard dri'ves and reload Vista from scratch. Still wouldn't locate them (I've reverted back to my original Vista build now, from a Windows Home Server backup image).
Gonna try the SB cards in other PCs at work this week just to confirm if they are working... but the chances of both a previously working card and a brand new one both being broke seem remote...
So help! I'm not sure what else I'm missing...

I do understand that they all have supported Vista Drivers, but your website says that some functions may not work under Vista. All I am trying to do is to select a card that all functions work out of the box when I install it with Vista instead of finding out later that all functions do not work under Windows Vista. Here is the statement from your support page:
Creative is developing Vista driver updates for many of its soundcard products. Many are already available on the web for download and installation to support existing customers. However, after installing an updated Windows Vista driver, some features that work on Windows XP may no longer be available due to changes in the audio architecture for Vista. See below for details specific to your product.
So what I am asking is Pre-Sales Help to help me select a Sound Card where all functions of the card works under Vista which I will use only for Moves and Music, no games.

I have the volume controller for front and center and subwooferbut i don`t have the controller for rear channel and the same time the rear channel is working with the low volume?not able to hear the sound from the rear channel but its working fine if i go near to the speaker i can hear the sound very lowi need to increase the sound for the rear channel?If any body know how to control the rear channel for sound blaster audigy could you let me know .... i want to add. some additional information, my 5. speaker doesn't have digital output, the line out for the sub woofer and centre are red and white line just like the same as the other speaker line, i don't know weather it will cause the front doesn't work or not, but i had read some post it said "In the Creative Mixer, be sure to disable the option for Digital Output Only, and set the number of speakers accordingly. For example, if you have a 5. channel speaker system, select 5.."
if, i didn't change the creative mixer to "disable the option for digital output", will it cause the centre and sub woofer have no sound at all? plesae reply A.S.A.P. as i don't know weather it is the problem of the sound card or just a problem of the setting.....thanks alot.

Sound blaster aud. 2 nx through usb

I am thinking of a sound blaster audiology 2 nz external card. can I run it through a usb2 hub? If I do will I get any latency, or sync problems when playing back dvds and stuff

I've been puling my hair out trying to hook my decks line out to line in on sound card Sound Blaster Audigy 2 (sold with PC). The sound card works fine for TV etc but I can't get any sound from line in for external devices. I've tried hooking up other devices such as iPod and Hifi and can't get any line in devices to play through my PC.
I've run the diagnostics test and tests complete succesfully.
Any ideas about how to get this sorted? Is this a known problem? Any other settings I can check on my PC?
I've searched the forums and can't see any messages related to this subject apart from one and the suggested solution was to check the mute button wasn't on, obviousy I have checked this one ;o), and the problem is elsewhere.
HELP!!! I'm dying to get a mix recorded onto MP3!!!

Well if it isn't working on either input then it is most likely a software problem. Is this a platinum version of the Audigy 2? If so you may want to check your mixer and make sure that line2/mic2 is also unmuted to test from it. If this isn't a Platinum dri've, was this card installed in a prebuilt system? Then the front connecter may override the back one. I would launch the Window's mixer, go to options and make sure that every control has a checkmark in it. Then go down the line and make sure nothing is muted. This is mainly a double check step.
I am not sure what else could cause the line in not to work, you might want to consider contacting support directly in this case.

Itunes STILL doesn't recognise CD in drive

I know this question has been asked before, but having followed ALL the suggestions elsewhere with no results I have to ask again...
ITunes will only recognise an audio CD in the drive if it is in there when I open ITunes. Once it has recognised this disc that is it - no more will be recognised and I can't upload any more. I can eject the disc and put in another one, nothing, zilch, still says that the original disc is in there. If I close ITunes with the new disc in, and restart, hey presto, it finds the CD. Naturally, I have tried this with more than two CDs (I have 3000 to choose from).
So, what have I done about this?
ITunes Diognostics - disc drive detected correctly
Autoplay options checked - no change
ITunes 11.2.2.3 reinstalled - no change
Changed drive letter - no change
Updated Gear driver - no change
Followed instructions on editing registry - no change
What is going on? Can anyone suggest how to sort this out as it is really beginning to annoy me.

when I got to the "system config utility" step my pc went crazy with errors and I had to create a new system restore point. Will leave this for now.. Very frustrating!

Problems with creative sound blaster aud

i have 2 problems . my system says i have a corrupt file when i try to auto update. i see that no one has been able to find a solution to this. 2. i installed the card and all its software but i get no audio. device manager says that its working properly. any one have any suggestions.

Windows Vista Driver for Sound Blaster 5.1 P

I want driver for Windows Vista 32 Bit edition for Sound Blaster 5. PCI sound card. I have loaded the Windows XP driver but as a result of that it is playing audio in 2 speaker stereo mode, but i have creative 5. speaker system. As a result of that sound is coming almost only from the front two speakers. Creative MIXER is also not working. Please suggest a solution.

Hi daniel_k , the driver works fine but there's a little problem : when i reboot , the startup process stops at about 50 percent (stops responding)?, when i launched the startup repair utility which takes about 0 mins to complete , then the pc boots normally?. When i look in device manager , it says my sound card?has no driver installed?but when reinstalling your driver it's ok again ! The main problem is when i restart ! Please note that i reinstalled windows 7 and performed a clean install of the driver as you requested before this problem arises . Please?can you fix the driver or give another one . Thanks .

Problems with Sound Blaster Live! 1024 and Windows 2000 Profession

Hello everybody, and thank you since now for your help and support.
Please, forgive my english (I'm italian) not so good, but I hope you can understand me the same.
I have a Sound Blaster Li've! 024, and so far everything works fine with Windows 98 SE, but lately I have installed Windows 2000 Professional on my PC, and now nothing works.
Nothing, neither the softwares, they don't even start!
Here is what I tried so far:
- First, I tried to install the old version of the programs, the ones that I had in the CD-ROM when I bought the sound card. At this point, I couldn't even uninstall the softwares!
- Then, I tried to update the drivers, but it seems that they're already updated when you install Win2000, and the uninstallation didn't works yet.
- At last, I have downloaded the new software pack, Li'veDrvUni-Pack.exe, but nothing even so. But with this, at least, I was able to uninstall everything from the PC (even if not perfectly).
- Today, I tried to install only the new pack, Li'veDrvUni-Pack.exe, but still nothing works. When I start running the program (e.g. AudioHQ), I can see the hourglass for few seconds and then everything aborts.
Please, help me! What can I do? I really don't want to buy a new sound card, even because my SB Li've! 024 works perfectly until now.

i have Sound Blaster Li've! 024 , and Vista, and sound is totaly s*it or not working.. but, you can install drivers from Russians and all will work fine with good quality!

I had ordered a Dell PC with Sound Blaster Li've! I double checked and made sure I have the correct Sound Blaster which I do. I have uninstalled and reinstalled sound blaster li've! and it still does not let me update my driver. I took the CD out put it back then tried updating the driver and still it says no Sound Blaster Li've found.

My iTunes doesn't recognise my iPhone 4S

I hae tried everything and my iTunes still doesn't recognise it. I have uninstalled and re-installed my iTunes numerous times. Please does anyone have any suggestions as to how I could resolve this?! My computer recognises it but iTunes just freezes up and starts goign very slowly, then sometimes my phone is recognised but it tells me to go to the summary tab and restore factory setting, but as soon as I click "ok", my phone disappears from iTunes and it doesn't recognise it anymore, then other times it just doesn't show up at all. App Store doesn't recognise that I have apps installed already

At first App Store managed to recognise a bunch of apps which I already have installed and registered on my iMac. But sometimes I come across apps it hasn't recognised, and then after I open the apps and update them (outside AppStore) AppStore then manages to recognise that I have these apps installed (However, I usually have to relaunch AppStore for this to happen).
But now I have come across some apps which I own and have registered, but AppStore doesn't recognise them, and when I inspect them, I do have the latest version or I do update to the latest version, but AppStore still doesn't recognise them!
Examples are Bento, ScreenFlow, and others. I want to be able to update using AppStore, but I can't, and yet these apps are in the store and are the same versions I have.

The Mac OS X 10.6.7 Update Combo does not "have fixes that were not included in the original v10.6.7" update Delta. The Delta and the Combo were released together. Software Update has the ability to provide the Delta or the Combo based on the detected installed version of Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6. The Update Combo has the ability to bring any installed version of Mac OS X 10.6 to 10.6.7, whereas the Update Delta is limited to bringing an installation of 10.6.6 to 10.6.7. As such the Update Combos are a general troubleshooting step that have been known to possibly "fill in the gaps" of someone's current installation.
Señor Kappy, that Mac Update link does not have the MAS as a stand alone download. If you click Download it takes you to this Apple website; http://www.apple.com/mac/app-store/ On this site Apple explains that to get the MAS you need Mac OS X Snow Leopard and encourages someone to buy and update their OS. Or instructs them to run Software Update to update their current installed version of Snow Leopard to 10.6.7 when the MAS will be installed as part of the update.
