Vista Ultimate 64Bit  - GUI Problems

Hi all,
hope you could help.
System:
Vista 64 Bit Ultimate on
Xeon 2,5 Ghz
12GB Ram
2 Monitor on a
Nvidia Geforce GTX280
Problem:
After working some minutes with Indesign first alle the input fields of the GUI hide and I cant change thinks like object size or font size. Then also the the Windows for 'Save as' 'Open' or for exemple 'Document prefs' could be open/displayed. Only solution 'Strg+S' and restart indesign. Working for some minutes again.
Things I have done/tried allready:
- Update alls Adobe CS3 packs an all Vista stuff
- Change the Vista Skin (Old XP Style, ...)
- Change Screenfont prefs (cleartype...)
- Try different GFX-Drivers
- Try a different GFX-Card (before was Nvidia Quadro FX1700, same Problem)
- De- and Reinstall hole CS3

Thanx Bob,
Wasnt possible, because the graphic card driver dont allowed it to ture off. But I uninstalled the driver complete and worked without any driver in 1024x768 (with one screen).
Same problem, after a while (sometimes 1h working) the 'open' or 'save as' screen dont pop up and the problem with the input fields (seen on the screen shot). If I restart indesign, everything is fine for the first time.
If you still think its the graphic card do you know which driver I should try for Nvidia Geforce GTX 280 (or maybe for the Quadro FX1700, because there was the same problem)?
Regards, Robert.

  • PDF Printer not working with Acrobat 8 & Vista Ultimate 64bit

I have not been able to print pdf's.  I am uptodate on upgrades and have installed, reinstalled printers and repaired the program etc.
When I install an adobe printer I get the Adobe PDF Converter.  When I try to print with it, I get an audible failure signal and nothing ever happens.  Sometmes I get a sceen indicating it has failed, sometimes not.  I have had this problem since upgrading to a new computer with Vista Ultimate 64bit OS.
I have seen various "Fixes" but none seem to address my problem or work for it.
Anyone with the same problem and perhaps a solution?

    What version of AA8?

  • Cannot install Vista Ultimate 64bits on Mac Pro 2008

    Hello,
I'm trying to install Vista Ultimate 64bits on my new Mac Pro (2008, 2x Quad Core, 3x 500GBHDD, 16 GB Ram), but Vista is unable to find a correct partition type.
The first thing I did was to install a 4th HD, and I constantly received an error 0x80004005 which seems to be too generic.
Then I tried to install it on the 3rd HD (Bay 2 is where my OS X startup disk is located btw) but here no way neither....Windows cannot find a valid partition.....
I tried to partition it manually in MBR...same problem....
    Then with BootCamp assistant...same problem...
I also tried to use Vista Business 64 SP1, same problem...
Do you have any idea ?
    Thanks,
    Patrick

    Hello,
Thanks for your answer, but unfortunately I'm still stuck...
    To resume the situation :
I put a brand new 250GB SATA in the bay 4.
I start Bootcamp Assistant and tell him that I want to use this new disk for Windows and then start Vista x64 install.
Vista sees 2 partitions on this new disk :
    Disk 3 Partition 1 : 200 MB (Primary)
    Disk 3 Partition 2 : 230 GB (Primary)
If I try to use the P2 for the install, I have to format it first. Once formatted, Vista says : This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disk controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu.
If I try to use the 200 MB (just for fun..), then I also have to format it, but here I receive the error message 0x8000xxxx
    So clearly I'm lost...
Could it be related to the 16 GB RAM ? Too much for Vista ?? I don't believe as this is Vista x64...
    Thanks for your help, ideas..

  • Can I copy & install "ipod touch App Pack 4A93" in vista ultimate 64bit

I am to do a clean install of vista ultimate 64bit. This is a move from my present vista Home Premium 32 bit.
All my purchase for for the ipod touch have taken under vista 32bit and details are stored in App Data->Roaming->Apple Computer->iTunes->Mobile Applications->ipod touch App Pack 4A93.
Now when I do a clean install of my latest OS vista ultimate 64bit I will have to wipe clean of the drive and it will erase my "ipod touch App Pack 4A93" aswell. I have saved that in a usb key to copy that back in the correct folder. Now my question is can I copy that back in VISTA 64bit and will it recognise my previous purchases for my ipod touch?
Has anybody know it for sure?
Thanking you in advance for your help and assistance.

    Hello.
I am not sure if the Vista 64 bit will know the folder and App pack or not. But some of the other methods of backing up and getting Apps back you purchased are below. I am not sure about the UK but I know in the USA when you purchase an App you can download it again for free without having to buy it again.

  • Tecra S10-106 - 3G driver for Vista Ultimate 64bit

    Hello,
I am owner of a Toshiba Tecra S10-106. Due to the fact that Vista Ultimate 64bit is much faster as Vista business 32bit, I would like to use Vista ultimate 64bit as operating system, but I can't find the 3G driver for Vista 64bit. All drivers can be downloaded from USA in english and can be used in german, only the 3G driver is missing. Can somebody else send me a download link or tell me where I can find a suitable driver for Vista 66bit?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi
To enable the card you will also need to install the 3G RF Power control utility which is here at http://support1.toshiba-tro.de/tedd-files2/0/3grf-en-20090217134719.zip.
That is only half the story as I think you also need to install the Value Added Package here http://support1.toshiba-tro.de/tedd-files2/0/vap-en-20090217134137.zip as this then enables the hotkeys to turn on and off the 3G wireless card.
    Hope that helps.
    Regards
    Phil

  • CS4 on Vista Ultimate 64Bit, and XP-Pro 32Bit

I have CS4 Production Premium installed on a drive with XP-Pro 32Bit. Is it OK to point a new installation under Vista Ultimate 64Bit to the same Directory where the first Version is installed under XP-Pro?

Thx Bob, I do have however 6 Hard Drives and each Win Version is installed on a different one and so is Adobe CS4 on a different separate Hard-Drive.
Why can I not point both Windows to the same Program folder???
why XP32, because I'm a chicken and want to make sure 64Bit works fine.

  • CAM for Windows vista ultimate 64bit

Hello can some one tell me what cam I should buy for my 64bit windows vista ultimate please,
i would like to buy a new cam and want one that will work with the 64 bit vista, please advise.

OK, you're looking for a webcam.
I admit I don't know what's supported by Vista64, but I have a Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000 and am very happy with it.  Since it's USB Video Class (UVC) compliant it may even have drivers built into Vista (not sure of this, I don't run Vista on any of my machines, just XP and Linux.)
Do some research on Logitech models and you should find some with good Vista64 support.

  • T500 + Vista Ultimate Audio (Headphones) problem

My new T500 running windows vista ultimate seems to be having some audio issues. The inbuilt speakers work fine and I hear everything well. However, if i plus any external speaker or headphones to the computer's headphones jack, there is no effect. The sound still comes from the inbuilt speakers instead if the headphones.
I tried uninstalling the audio driver but it does not solve the problem. When I look into the device manager, it reports that the audio device is working properly.  I still tried to install the driver but the driver installation fails.
    any ideas or suggestions?

Too bad Apple can't write software to run on Windows.
    iTunes is s h i t.
I guess they don't care about Vista uesers

  • Vista Ultimate 64 bit problems with staticy audio or completely missing audio in gam

I've been having consistent problems with my X-FI board under 64-bit Windows Vista Ultimate. What's weird about it is that every time Creative comes out with a new driver, my problem goes away for about a day then comes back.
    Here's what I have:
    Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe motherboard
    Athalon 64 Dual Core processor
    4 GB of memory
Windows Vista Ultimate (recenly patched to SP)
The problem I'm encountering is that only when I have the full 4 GB of memory enabled I get static at the end of every Windows sound. For gaming, it's a crap shoot - sometimes it works, others I have to restart the game multiple times or reboot the machine to get any audio at all.
I contact Creative but they categorically refused to provide email-based support since the board was out of warranty - they suggested the forums (I'd looked but not found anything that helped) or a pay per use tutorial (I don't need a tutorial, I know how to use the card).
Any suggestions? Again, as soon as I switch to 3 GB of memory - works like champ. Switch on the full 4 GB and it hardly works. I turned off the cool & quiet feature of my mobo. Updated all the drivers I can find. I'm at a loss for ideas. Help?

    And???
We can't help you if you don't tell us what you tried
and what happened when you tried it.This is message when try run on vista ultimate x64 "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000018). Click OK to terminate the application."
you can help??? what is happen???
finally sql developer run or not run on vista x64???
p.s.: excuse-me... i don´t write in english very well.... waiting replies!!!
    thanks!

  • Two Copies of Flash Player in Vista Ultimate 64bit SP2 ?

    Hi,
I use Secunia PSI to validate the currency of my software. It reported Flash player to be down level.
I updated to the new version and Secunia PSI still reported the program to be downlevel.
The flash player test reports WIN 10 0 42 34 installed.
It looks like my Vista Ultimate 64 bit should have copies of flash player at these two locations:
    C:\Windows\SysWOW\Macromed\Flash
    and
    C:\Windows\System32|Macromed\Flash
The folder Macromed doesn't exist at the System32 location
If I need the 32 bit version where do I find it? And, How do I install It?
    Thanks
    Frank C

    Thanks for the reply Mvargas1.
That certainaly is confusing - System 32 is for 64 and WOW 64 is for 32!
Both my Firefox and Internet Explorer browsers seen to be working with Flash Player OK.
I uninstalled and re-installed Flash Player and Secunia no longer finds a down level version.
    Thank You

  • Upgrade T400 to Vista Ultimate 64bit?

I have a T400 on order (2764CTO) and scheduled to ship 9/5/08.  As you may know, it only comes with the 32bit version of the Vista OS.  I would like to upgrade to Vista 64bit and am looking for a check list or white paper that can guide me though the process.
    Two questions:
    Does such a thing exist?
What if any serious problems/challanges exist in doing so?

After your install, put the proper ThinkVantage System Update in place. You need version 4. Uninstall the older one first. It will install most of the drivers you need.

  • Msi P965 Platinum with Vista Premium 64bit big problem

hi i cant run vista properly, i get blue screen dumps that dumps memory.
Some time it can run 5min sometimes 2hours
Vista says that there is a hardware incompatiblity something with memory.
I have run memtest x86 it passed, and Vistas memtest fail.
tryed to run with only one memory and changed place to them
core duo center doesent work either.
now i run windows Xp with latest drivers and everything works just fine.
I want to run my computer on windows vista 64bit, whats my problem

Sad to hear about those problems, especially since I am going to upgrade to Vista myself in the nearest future.
I have no guarantee that this will work, but try using manual settings for RAM. And set RAM to 5-5-5-15, not 4-4-4-12. And run RAM at stock speed, and the same goes for FSB etc.
And try using 2,1V for the RAM.
If you have runned on manual settings, set the to "Auto" if you haven't tried that.
I have read abuot one guy that got bluescreens all the time when he overclocked in Vista. You haven't overclocked, have you? :P
EDIT: I see you use BIOS v1.3. Try flashing to v1.2.
I flashed from a bluescreenfree system at high overclocks (v1.2), to a instable system vith plenty of bluescreens when exeding 340-350FSB.
With BIOS 1.2, I have booted with FSB 389, and been able to run SuperPI, CPU-Z and some other small programs. Now, with BIOS 1.3, I can't get into windows, get bluescreen before logon is complete.
I think there is something "wrong" with the northbrigde in P965 Platinum, because the errors are allways memory related.

  • Pre7 after upgrade from Vista to Windows 7 (Ultimate 64bit)

I recently upgraded my Vista Ultimate (64bit) computer to Windows 7 Ultimate (64bit).  This was an upgrade, not a clean, fresh install.  Today is the first time I have tried to run PRE7 under Windows 7.  Prior to the upgrade, I had no problems to speak of with PRE7 and the PhotoShop.com Plus account that I set up with it.  Now whenever I start PRE7 under Windows 7, I get the "Install Full Content" dialog informing me that a reduced set of content has been installed and that I need to install the full set of content from the installation DVD.  Now believe me when I say that the full set of content was installed under Vista and that I never got such a dialog box prior to Windows 7.  In addition, after clicking OK to continue, the PhotoShop.com membership did not log on automatically as I am used to it doing.  I don't remember exactly now what I had to do, but to the best of my recollection, after I logged on to my account it was telling me that I needed to verify my account, which I did.  I subsequently received an email with a verification link in it.  After clicking on the link my account was verified and now when I start PRE7, it automatically logs me on to my PhotoShop.com account, as I am used to it doing.  I still get the "Install Full Content" dialog, though.  I thought I would ask in this forum if anyone else has experienced these two anomalous behaviors after ungrading to Windows 7, before I attempt to go thorough the motions of actually reinstalling the full content, which should not actually be necessary.
    Thank you,
    Charles Lawrence

Why it's happening is a mystery. My guess would be that the upgrade in the OS is part of the problem, but that is just a guess. Some have reported that Win7 does the upgrade thing better than any previous OS, but others report all sorts of odd problems, when doing it this way.
If you have the DVD, then I'd try a Repair Install, to see if it picks up the Functional Content.
Otherwise, I am at a loss as to why, when you upgraded your OS, PrE 7 lost the link to that material.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • ThinkPad T60 8741-4SU + windows vista 64bit // temperature problems

    ThinkPad T60 8741-4SU - High temperatures
Hi i recently upgraded my pc, bought set of 4gb ram (2x2gb of kingston ram), at that time i was running on windows xp prof sp2 and everything was fine, temperature was ok, idle at ~45C, burn ~70C.. Since i changed my os to windows vista ultimate 64 bit, temperatures are extremely high, idle is around ~60C and if i try to run some stability test that uses both cores at 100%, the temperature gets to ~95C and then i rather quickly stop it, because i dont want it to raise more and do some serious damage..
I dont have any lenovo software installed, i rather use the default stuff in windows - seems more user friendly so far.. So far i downloaded tpfancontrol to see if the fan is working properly and it seems it is, if i manually set it to max RPM, i can hear it, but the temperature is still about the same..
The other thing i am worried about it is that my intel t7400 is supposed to have max voltage at 1.3V, but i often see in Everest monitoring software, 1.36, CPUID shows 1.363, which is more than is supposed to be there, i was trying to see, if something is messed up in BIOS, but there is nothing about voltage - nothing that i can found..
My bios version is 1.03, windows vista ultimate 64bit - fully updated, outside temperature - the same, maybe even lower, laptop is sitting on the wodden desk.. Power setting at windows is set to Balanced, if i set the power saver- system is slow and with high performance the temperatures are running very high in the iddle..  I have the laptop for like 8months..
    Other temperatures - idle
    1 cpu 58°C (0x78)
    2 aps 46°C (0x79)
    3 crd 42°C (0x7a)
    4 gpu 61°C (0x7b)

make sure your ventilation ducts are clean from dirt, Vista put lot more strain on every component of your laptop, so the temperature increase should be normal. Xp is lot less demanding on computer compoents, however it does sound like your heat ventilation fan and fins are clogged with dusts. So open up the laptop to clean away any dusts that maybe there.
