Vista Ultimate, Firefox 4.01 just installed. The back and forward buttons do not work with this new installation. Help please.

O?S is Vista Ultimate 32 bit fully updated. I have just installed Firefox 4.01. I have lost use of back and forward buttons - they are greyed out. Is there a solution please?

It is possible to have earlier data in a tab if the latest tab had target="_top" that means the back key will not work, but if your right-click on the back/forward you see a context menu. As far as I know the only difference between 3.6 and 4.0 ws that the drop-down arrow was dropped but like before you can still right-click.
There are some extensions that mess with the Back/Forward buttons.
There is a difference between gray and '''black''' on the buttons, '''black''' means there is history in that direction.

With version 5 of Firefox, if I open more than 1 session, most of the time I cannot see anything in the navigation bar and my back and forward buttons do not work.

I open 1 session of Firefox 5.0.1 and everything seems to work fine. Then I open a second session of Firefox and most of the time the navigation bar does not show the page that I am on and the back and forward buttons do not work. When I start it up it shows two two nested windows on the screen, has a Firefox yellow tab in the corner, does not display the toolbar bookmarks, the back and forth buttons do not work and there is no page refresh. No clue what is going on.

Every time I open up Firefox it appears to open two nested and linked windows, each with their own minimize, maximize and close buttons but the both work the same. The homepage does not come up, the back and forth buttons do not work. Both the refresh button and F5 do not work. The Bookmark Toolbar does not show up until I disable it in View and then re-enable it and this causes the outer nested window to disappear or close.

This issue can be caused by an extension or theme that isn't working properly.

The back and forward button stay disabled after upgrading to Firefox 4

I upgraded to Firefox 4 and the back and forward buttons are never enabled. I see them, but they are not working.
History works, recently closed pages work, bookmarks work.
I disabled all addons, uninstalled FF4, deleted \Program Files\Firefox, re-installed, kept extensions disabled, removed all backups from bookmarkbackups, deleted places.sqlite and still nothing.
What else can I do?

The back and forward buttons on Logitech mouse don't work

My logitech performance MX back and forward buttons don't work. I tried in safe mode and they still don't work. I tried creating a custom shortcut in logitech setpoint and that didn't work either. I tried using the native mouse driver and not logitech. No luck.
I really like this functionality. Is there a way to enable these buttons?

Thank you for trying to help. I followed your instructions, it took 6 hours to download, and then said it could not solve the problem (something to do with error 9?). It will have to go back to Apple - its only 3 days since it came out of the package and its very disappointing for him. To move the Stop and Reload buttons to their position to the left of the location bar you can use these steps:
* Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize"
* Drag the Reload and Stop buttons to their previous position to the left of the location bar.
* Set the order to "Reload - Stop" to get a combined "Reload/Stop" button.
* Set the order to "Stop - Reload" or separate them otherwise (Space or Separator) to get two distinct buttons.

let's get a crash log from itunes, and send it to the Apple engineers for a look.
Typically, you'll need to configure Dr. Watson on your PC in order to generate crash logs. Windows start menu -> Run. Type in "cmd". Hit return. At the prompt in the command line window that comes up, type in

How long did you hold these buttons for? Did you try more than once? Have you tried letting it charge for a bit and trying again?

Not sure whether for instance you initially had a Yahoo optimised version of Firefox, and have now overwritten it with an official Mozilla version. Although the Mozilla version should NOT add unwanted features, but the Yahoo version may well do.
If you merely need to find the Yahoo emails page quickly just add it as a bookmark or as a bookmark on the Bookmarks toolbar and make sure that is visible.
Clicking the star icon on the location bar whilst looking at your emails will bookmark the page.

Now my sleep and wake button can not work. When I press it either long press or short press. no response at all.
, then I long press the home button to restart the ipad. It appears the apple logo, but after a while, the screen just a flash, and then restart again, and the apple logo appears again. It never restart properly until I plug in the USB cable with it to connect it with PC.

1. What sleep/wake button are u talking about? You mean the power button? Sleep/wake is a function, not a button, which works for covers that supports it.
2.You press home button to RESTART ipad?? what home button? the one at the bottom of the screen or at the top?
