Vista Ultimate & Outlook 2007 - Anyone Succeed?

Looking for anyone who has personally (not friend of a friend) been successful syncing Calendar or Contacts between Outlook 2007 on a Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit PC and a 1.1.3 iPhone using the current 64-bit version of iTunes.
If you have got this configuration working correctly, did it work as soon as you installed iTunes 7.6, or did you have to do something special? TIA...

When I look under the info tab in iTunes and go to contacts, I have 3 contact group groups to select, these are the contact groups under my mailbox contact folder in Outlook 2007. I can individually select them.
In the iPhone I can go to contacts and go to the group's button and it will list my contact groups.
Try uninstalling and re-installing iTunes with Outlook closed.
I am running Vista Ultimate with Outlook 2007 (12.0.6023.5000) and MS Exchange 2003 in cached mode. (Not sure if it makes a difference) and iTunes (7.6.0.29)
Let me know if you get it to work.

    I've installed Desktop Manager on to my old PC which is running on XP and it's picked up my Outlook 2007 straight away... So presumably it must be down to my settings on the Vista PC? I need my BB to sync with the Vista machine so any help or ideas would be really appreciated :-)

    We are running comm suite 5 with OC 7.2.406.1, from you last post, does it mean that in order to work with Vista and Outlook 2007 that we are going to have to upgrade to comm suite 6 or will the 7.3 version of the connector work with comm suite 5?We aren't supporting Windows Vista till Outlook Connector 7.3. Another forum reader advised that they were able to get Vista + Outlook 2K7 working with 7.2u1 so you are welcome to try and see how it goes.
    http://wikis.sun.com/display/CommSuite/Communications+Suite+6+Component+Products+Release+Notes#CommunicationsSuite6ComponentProductsReleaseNotes-RequirementsforOC7.3
    According to the above you need to have "Sun Java System Messaging Server 7.0 (mandatory for creation of a new profile)" which will be provided by Comm-Suite-6. I have to admit I'm not sure why this is and I am pinging the support team about this.
    When might we expect OC 7.3?It is being provided as part of Comm Suite 6. This was going to be released in a week but the release date has been pushed back for reasons I can't go into on a public forum. Let's just say we are looking at weeks and not months.

  • Help getting Outlook 2007 to sync with proper calendar on Blackberry Curve

    Hi I'm new to this forum and have looked for specific answers but not luck as of yet. I'll try to explain what I need to happen fully so it may seem like I'm rambling.
    I've recently been issued a new computer with Vista and Outlook 2007 for work. Previously I had Win XP and Outlook 2003. Always I had my blackberry set up to recieve all my emails from my personal email accounts as well as my work email.
    My problem is that now when I place items on my Outlook 2007 calendar and sync to my blackberry, my Outlook items don't show up on blackberry and vice versa.
    If I inititiate calander item from blackberry, making sure I am using work email address, it shows up as appt on blackberry calendar but doesn't show up on Outlook.
    If I recieve email invite for appointment on Blackberry, it does show up as appointment. I believe when I set up Outlook 2007 it must be placing the items in a different default calendar, but even though I've selected on blackberry to show all calendars, it still doesn't show up.
    Syncing is working properly between the phone and outlook as far as connection, just not showing up.
    What I want to happen of course is, enter an item on phone and have it sync to outlook, or enter item on outlook and show up on blackberry..but that's not happening. I've tried all settings I can see and am at a loss.
    How can I change what items are in my Outlook 2007 are set as default? It's so screwy I can't even explain what's going on...I'm very tempted to reinstall Outlook 2001 just because it doesn't recognize different calanders so at least all items would show up on blackberry. Help. Thanks.

    Okay update. I've deleted all personal address CICAL files in blackberry except for the one I want to use. I cleaned the service records, did a hard reboot, the resynced my phone.
    All worked well except for Calendar. My Outlook calendar is full on computer but nothing happened to phone calendar. This makes me think that Outlook 2007 is storing all the calendar entries as a different default, rather than my work email address, but I don't know how to change.
    Also, I don't know how to covert entries from one default address to another in Outlook. Probably something in initial setup that I clicked or didn't change properly.
    Another question, I sync via cable (not wireless). One of the options in the intellisync setup is Microsoft Outlook Internet Settings or Outlook. I'm using outlook of course but since the MS Outlook Internet Settings is default choice, I've just left it at that (although when I change it nothing seems to happen anyway). Should this be one way or another?
    Thanks.

  • ITunes does not recognize Outlook 2007 contacts or calendar

    I have a PC running Vista and Outlook 2007. I have Microsoft Exchange Server, and local Oulook with a Personal folder with contact and calendar groups. I do not have a business account on my new iPhone 3G. I just want to bring over my personal contacts and calendar. When I connect the phone (without being connected to MS Exchange Server), iTunes does not give me a choice of any of my personal contacts or calendar groups. It only shows me the Exchange Server "calendar" and "contacts". I went ahead and did a sunch of the calendar, and got the Exchange Server calendar. This is not what I wanted.
    I would imagine other people have the same configuration and want to do the same thing, hoping someone solved this. iPhone tech support has not been able to solve it yet. It seems like iTunes can't recognize my personal folders.
    I hope someone might have an answer. Thanks for reading my issue.

    Hi Sergio,

  • Currupted "sent items" folder in Outlook 2007 (on Exchange 2007) causing Outlook to crash.

    One user here has a problem when clicking on the "sent items" folder. Outlook hangs for 5 secondes and then crashes. If user logs into OWA, she can
    access the "sent items" folder no problem. I thought it was a messege in the folder that was corrupted so I asked the user to move the messages to a temp folder from OWA. She did that, the folder is now empty but Outlook still crashes. Tried cache
    mode and uncache.
    I tried to delete her sent item folder using MFCMAPI (in the hope the it will recreate a new folder) : right click the folder, selected delete folder, check the
    option "hard deletion" and I get
    Warning:
    Code: MAPI_W_PARTIAL_COMPLETION == 0x00040680
    Function lpParentFolder->DeleteFolder(
    lpItemEID->cb, (LPENTRYID) lpItemEID->lpb, lpProgress ? (ULONG_PTR)m_hWnd : NULL, lpProgress, ulFlags)
    File .\MsgStoreDlg.cpp
    Line 991
    One more test I did: I copied the sent items folder to a pst, moved the pst to my computer and when I try to open the folder from the PST, my Outlook would freeze
    and crash. Isn't interesting?
    Am I missing something here? Has someone encounter this problem before? Any other idea on how it could be resolved?
    This issue started on Exchange 2003. We are now moving to Exchange 2007. I moved her mailbox to the new server in the hope that any mailbox problem will be filtered
    and removed. I still have the issue..
    env:
    Exchange 2007 running on Win2008
    PC:
    Windows Vista sp1, outlook 2007 (user was getting same issue under Win2k with Outlook 2003)

    Couple steps you may apply...
    1. Repair the offline file with a Microsoft utility called SCANOST.exe. I’ve seen this file reside in a number of different locations, mainly within Program
    Files. It might be best to search for it with Windows or Google Desktop. SCANPST.exe will also work, though you’ll have to go digging for your outlook.ost, which should be near c:\Documents and Settings\ %profile%\ Local Settings\ Application Data\ Microsoft\
    Outlook\ outlook.ost. If your file is significant in size, you’ll save a lot of time with the repair operation by not creating a backup. Because if the repair finishes successfully and Outlook still bombs, you’ll need to.
    2. Shutdown Outlook completely, including any runaway outlook.exe processes in the task manager. Open Mail in the Control Panel and before you delete your
    profile completely, write down the server settings! There’s no need to worry about backing up your mail as it’s stored on the Exchange server. (Essentially, you’re deleting that outlook.ost when you drop your mail profile.) Now, start Outlook and it will create
    a new profile, where you’ll configure the server with the information you wrote down previously.

  • Best way to sync Outlook 2007 calendar with Exchange on SBS 2003

    I currently have Vista and Outlook 2007.
    My email, contacts and calendar are all in a OST file, which syncs to our Windows SBS 2003 server and the Exchange installed on it.
    How should I configure my iPhone and iTunes, in order to have my calendar in iPhone?
    After trying for several times to sync through iTunes without any success (could never have any items imported to the iPhone) I did create an Exchange account on my iPhone with the IP address of our SBS server, and my account details, and now all my items seem to appear (however they all have Accept/Maybe/Refuse buttons).
    Is this the correct way? Will I get alarms for my appointments, even if I don't accept them on the iPhone?
    Thank you!

    OK, I think I figured it out, with Apple's iCloud instructions and a little help from campus tech support. This only applies to people using Outlook with Microsoft Exchange.
    Enable iCloud on your computer (running Lion) and your iPhone. http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/mac.html
    Then go to your iPhone's Mail icon, click on Add Account > Microsoft Exchange and enter your login info.
    Doing this transferred my work email and calendar to my phone wirelessly.

  • How to sync Outlook 2007 and Mail

    I plan on dual booting vista with outlook 2007, and mac os x 10.6. Is there a program that will sync the mail accounts, and has to be able to sync my earthlink email account? I know you can leave the email on the server, but then whenever I switch from vista to mac I can't tell what messages I have and haven't read, and the sent mail doesn't sync. I have tried mobileme, but then I can't send from my earthlink account. Earthlink does not support IMAP accounts. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I've never heard of anything that would do this and I've never seen a feature like this even requested. If Erathlink does not support IMAP the best you can do is just what you are doing already - set POP options to leave mail on server after retrieval.
    You might also consider getting an IMAP email account. Gmail and AIM are free and both offer imap.

  • IPhone, Vista Ultimate 64 and Outlook 2007

    I am sure this is becoming an issue. I am equally sure the iPhone will work with a MAC 64 bit OS so why not Vista??? After picking up the long awaited revolusionary device Friday I waited hours to get activated to learn that iTunes recognizes the device as a camera and I can not sync with Outlook. If that wasn't enough I went back to Cingular / At & T to return the device and switch back to my reliable Blackjack I was told of a 10% restocking fee, however for another $15.00 I could purchase a flash drive to transfer the data. The flash drive was a failure. Now Cingular tells me to bring in my other phone and they will port over to a SIM reader which defeats the purpose of syncing info daily. Did I fail to mention that while I was waiting for the activation that the device crashed my OS and the computer is on its way to HP for repairs. Setting aside lost time and money I would imagine that Apple is fixing this problem and that an update will become available sooooon.
    9000t   Windows Vista   Ultimate 64

    I have the same issue (activating that is - 64bit Vista), but I immediately called the store (Apple), two hours after I bought it. They said the restocking fee would be waived in the case of non-compatibility, like this issue is. Dang right, specially since even Apple employees are barely aware of this issue, and original system requirements make no mention about this either.
    I'd continue to push back to get a full refund. That's just profiteering otherwise.

  • Newbie- Sync with Outlook 2007 on Vista Ultimate

    Hi,
    I have a user having trouble when synchronizing his BB 8300 with Outlook 2007. Everything used to worked fine, but by now it seems like after sync he looses changes made on the BB's calendar or the Outlook. I mean, that it does not keep the last changes ....
    Any clues ?
    thanks in advance,

    Thanks for your reply. Additional question: I syc my treo 600 to my home outlook 2007 on Vista. However I sync my treo 600 to my desktop on my office laptop. If I download the outlook 2007 conduit on my home PC what will happy to the desktop version on my laptop. Will I still be able to sync and use it on the desktop? The reason I ask is because one of the points mentioned in the procedure is if you use the desktop then do not download the conduit.  Is the conduit for the treo or the PC? Can I download the conduit to my home pc and not affect the laptop desktop?
    Thanks

  • Outlook 2007 (on vista) will not show when trying to synchronize in v4.3

    I've installed DM v4.3 on vista and and want to synch with MS Outlook (2007). However, in the synch configuration (calender, contacts, etc.) my options are:
    <none>
    <Yahoo>
    <ASCII Importer/Exporter>
    Where is Outlook?? Does anyone know why it's not showing up? I'm not using an enterprise server. I have seen this work on the same set-up so I know it's not a compatibility issue. Any help would be greatfully appreciated!!

    Nikon E5000
    Do you mean a NIkon CP 5000 (Coolpix 5000)? Aperture supports many raw formats, but not all, because the raw support  has to be camera specific. Not all NEF files are in the same format - all Nikon cameras will call their raw files NEF.
    For some cameras Aperture never included raw support. The currently supported cameras are listed here:
    http://www.apple.com/aperture/specs/raw.html
    It looks like your camera is not on this list, so if you want to shoot raw with that camera, develope the raw files using a different raw converter (Adobe's dng converter or the suftware that came with your camera) and import tiff or dng files to Aperture.
    Regards
