  • Error in logging using "Default" account to access visual administrator

    Dear experts,
i had encountered the following error message when i tried to login to Visual Administrator using go.bat using default.
Unable to look up connection Default
http://L31021:8108/msgserver/text/logon returned empty list of connection parameters
and when i tried using another account and direct connect to a dispatcher node, they say error while connecting.
please give me advice on how to solve the problem.
thank you for the attention given and time.
    with thanks,
    kejun

    Hello Tan,
The error from the first type of connection indicates that the message server list of registered nodes was empty. The list is empty when the server and the dispatcher nodes are not running or using different message server.
First check in the dev_server0 and dev_dispatcher files in the work directory that they are connection to the same message server. Then in std_server0.out and std_dispatcher.out try to find why the server and the dispatcher nodes didnu2019t register in the message server. Also check the default trace files of both nodes.

  • Visual Administrator Go Script Missing

I want to start Visual Administrator but script go.sh is not in /usr/sap/sid/JS25/j2ee/admin. Is there another way to start VA or wonder why the script is not in the directory. OS is Solaris 10.
    Thanks in advance
    Martin

    Hi,
    Do u have atleast go.bat?
If you know how to write shell scripts, you can write your own go.sh based on go.bat or just copy , paste go.sh from another installation, that is also okay.
But frankly its scary when you say, you dont find go. If one thing has been screwed with installation something else could have been screwed. Did you go through post installation sequence to check if Portal has been installed correctly. This is detailed in sap documentation.

  • Configurations file location | visual administrator parameter | path ??

    Hi folks ,
I have installed the GDS console . As suggested in the installation guide " GDS 1.0 - Installation Guide.pdf " I have copied the GDS folder in the path E:/usr/sap which is where my WAS is installed  (This GDS folder comes when you unzip the file GDS1005_1.zip in the software for MDM 5.5 SP05 ase release . It contains the subfolders namely " configurations" , "IncomingMessages" , "MessagesToDataPool"). The WAS and the GDS console are at the same machine .
Now there is a step in the configuration of visual administrator parameters where I need to configure the parameter "Configurations file location" . I gve the path as "E:\usr\sap" as suggested in the example for the configuration in the installation guide (my GDS folder is inside "sap" folder ) but when I try to access the page for GDS through http://<host-name><port>/gds it says resource not found .
What I am not able to figure out is what would be the appropriate path for this parameter so that I am able to access the page ?
Could you please help me out !!!
    Regards
    Deepak Singh

    Hi ,
Actually I did all that you suggested but the problem was , for J2EE to accept my changes I was required to restart the engine from the console which I was not doing . This morning I did that and could move on to the next set of problems . But thanks for the suggestions . I do appreciate that .
    - If you look at the " GDS 1.0 - Installation Guide.pdf " then under " Editing the application properties " there is a table which has five columns , Property/Default/<b>1Sync</b>/Description/Example . What exactly does the " 1Sync " column convey ??? . Guess it is the External data pool ??
    - I am doing this more as a personel training excercise so I have some  infrastructural constraints .I have a WAS 6.40 SP15 installed on my machine . I have MDM 5.5 SP05 with the GDS component .  I don't have a XI/R3 system yet in the landscape . I don't have any external data pool . I don't have an AS2 adapter either . So now I am getting a couple of configuration errors which are for some parameters in visual administrator .
    The parameters are
    > DestinationDataPoolGln
    > DestinationDataPoolName
    > 'GDS.PrincipalHeader'
    > ProviderGln
    > ProviderName
    > ProviderTimeZone
    > 'GDS.SchemaLocation'
    > 'LinksItemKeyCombination'
    > 'SystemExternalValidations'
Is there a way I can configure these values without adding anything further systems in my landscape ??
    Would appreciate your inputs !

  • Problem when login to Visual Administrator

    Hi all,
Here is a problem while login into visual administrator.when i run go.bat file it is throwing a syntax error.
So,can anyone suggest me how to resolve.
As i need to active the services to run AE for Netweaver PI.
    Thanks,
    Kalyan.

    Hi,
Try logging on the ABAP stack withthe J2EE_ADMIN and changing the password there.
Or you can update the password in the secure store area (admin/password<SID>)of the configtool.bat.
Try this very simple procedure and also try to check the below things also but try the first option.
Please follow steps one by one. it should resolve your issue.
Reasons for this issue; plz check it one by one.
    1. Did you configure with ABAP? if yes, plz do below steps:
Plz assign SAP_J2EE_ADMIN role to J2EE_ADMIN user.
    2. VA login dialog; Please check Port(5xx04) is right?
    3. Admin password is wrong or lockecd.
If yes, Activate SAP* then reset or unlock it. For this jus follow below steps:
If you forgot or lock "Administrator or J2EE_ADMIN" password just follow below steps:
    STEP-1: Enable "SAP*"
    1.Start the Config Tool C:\usr\sap\<SID>\<engine-instance>\j2ee\configtool\configtool.bat
    Ex: D:\usr\sap\F02\JC00\j2ee\configtool --> configtool.bat
    2.Goto cluster-data --> Global server configuration --> services --> com.sap.security.core.ume.service
    3.Double-click on the property "ume.superadmin.activated = TRUE"
4.Double-click on the property "ume.superadmin.password=<Enter any password ex: abc123>"
    5.Save.
    6.Restart the engine.
STEP-2: Login with "SAP*" into portal
    1. http://<host>:<Port>/useradmin/index.jsp
    2. Enter userid / password as" SAP* / <password ex: abc123>"
    3. Search for "Administrator" user
    4. Reset or change password for "Administrtor"
    STEP-3: Disable "SAP*"
    1.Start the Config Tool C:\usr\sap\<SID>\<engine-instance>\j2ee\configtool\configtool.bat
    Ex: D:\usr\sap\F02\JC00\j2ee\configtool --> configtool.bat
    2.Goto cluster-data --> Global server configuration --> services --> com.sap.security.core.ume.service
    3.Double-click on the property "ume.superadmin.activated = FALSE"
    4.Save.
    5. Restart the engine.
    STEP-4: Login with "Administrator"
    1. http://<host>:<Port>/useradmin/index.jsp
    2. Enter userid / Password as "Administrator / <password>
    3. it will ask change password just change it.
Please reward points if it helps
    Thanks

  • Regarding J2EE Visual Administrator

    Hi,
I am new to the World of Web Dynpro in Java. I have developed a small Web Dynpro Application to access ABAP R/3 Backend. I have to check connection parameters for the used SLD, which are defined in the J2EE Visual Administrator.. Kindly tell me where is the J2EE Visual Administrator located.. How to check those parameters?
    Thank You.

Open the Visual Administrator by double-clicking the file go.bat in the local file directory of the Java engine of the SAP Web Application Server:

  • How to connect to Visual Administrator?

    Hi all!
I want to connect to visual administrator to configure BI JDBC Connector.
However the problem is that i don't know how to launch the Visual administrator.
On the step by step document, it's said that VA can be launched using the file "C:\usr\sap\(sid)\jc00\j2ee\admin\go.bat" but i think it isn't installed on the computer.
So may i have an advice or a way of installing it.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards.
    Lahoucine

    Hi Lahoucine,
have you installed the BI Java components? If not, then there is no Visual Administrator on your server...
If yes, it is located in the folder as you descibed depending on the drive you installes the system (c: or D: or...), the <SID> which is the three-letter SystemID of your SAP system and the folder JCXX where XX is anumber between 00 and 99 (corresponding to the system number of your SAP System).

  • Visual Administrator in trial verison SAP Portal??

    Hi Experts.
I install SAP Netweaver Portal (SDN_Preview_SR_5\CE71SR5), in a windows xp environment, and I cant launch the Visual Administrator, in my directory \usr\sap\CE1\J00\j2ee\ doesn't exist the admin directory,  but I find a file go.bat in the directory \usr\sap\CE1\J00\j2ee\JSPM but it launch the Java Support Package Manager.
the question is in the Trial version of composition Environment have the visual administrator tool?
    Thanks
    Regards

You have downloaded the Composition Environment apparent from the folder name (SDN_Preview_SR_5\5CE71SR). Composition Environement = CE.
I guess you wanted to download the Sneak Preview version of the portal which was available for download. SAP has removed the link to download the same last i checked. So if you have installed CE you wont find visual administration since all is available through NWA.
    Thanks,
    GLM

  • Visual Administrator tool

where can I download SAP J2EE Visual Administrator tool
    thank you

    Hi reza,
Sidharth is right in his post that the Visual Administrator is not included in the Java EE 5 edition. And in fact, Visual Administrator will no longer be available in the next version of NetWeaver Application server. It is being replaced by a new, web-based administration tool for online administration of your <b>landscape</b>!
The Java EE 5 Edition also contains this web-based tool with limited functionality.
To use the new admin tool, you need to install it first by executing just a BAT file. Go to <Install_dir>\JP1\JC00\j2ee\NWAdmin directory and execute install.bat. Also, refer to the readme.txt. in the same directory for instructions how to start it.
Another option for online administration of the preview would be the Telnet administrator where you execute shell commands.
If you're more specific with what configuration tasks you need to perform, we might give you detailed steps of how you can do that with the admin tools available in the Java EE 5 Edition package.
    Hope that help!
