Visual app notification alerts

Is there any way of turning off the small visual notification icons which appear on the home page for 3rd party applications ... for example WhatsApp?
I know it is possible to do it with Iphones and other androids but there is no option to turn these visual icon alerts off in the Profiles for Blackberry that I can see.
Can anyone help?
Thanks

Have you tried turning off the notifications in the email application itself? Open the email application and then press the menu button and look for a settings option.

Have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the Music and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. The function that isn't on the side switch is set via the taskbar instead : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4085

  • How do you fix certain app notifications that don't appear or appear twice?

On my iPhone or iPad, sometimes there are notifications that don't appear or appear twice. For example, I have a Fox News app. When I get an alert on my phone while it is locked, the same exact news notification appears twice in a row when I go to look at my phone. Also, there are times when app notifications won't show. For example, I have Bloomberg on my iPhone and my iPad. When there is a headline, the notification shows on my iPad but not my iPhone. The settings on both devices are the exact same in terms of notification center and lock screen being activated. Neither device is jail broken and both are running iOS 6.

I have also started experiencing this problem. I have tried the following with no help.
    Reseting the phone
signing out of my Apple account and signing in again
tapping the waiting icon to pause it and tapping it again
deleting the app and trying to reload it - still says waiting
The only thing that has allowed me to update my apps was to update them in itunes on my laptop and then sync my phone.
This has to be a unique IOS issue, so many people are having this problem. I wonder if it is a Cloud issue?

  • Email notifications alert - make automatically go away

Whenever I receive email I get notification alerts at the top right hand corner of the screen. But I need to manually close the notifications. Is there any way to make the notification alert go away automatically, say, after 5 seconds instead of me closing them manually one by one?
In my notification configuration window when I select Mail, it is set to Alerts and I have two tick boxes checked: Show in notification center 5 recent items and Badge app icon.
    Thanks.

Choose banner or none in System Preerences > Notifications.
    Banners disappear automatically.

The app notification keep popping up even after downloading, how can I stop it?  Thanks

go to Settings > Notification Center > scroll down to the app that is causing the problem > Alert Style and touch the word None under the left-most image of an iPad.  An oval will appear around the word to indicate that this is what you have selected

  • IMessage notification alert tones are not working on my iPad ios 8.  Is this a know bug?

my iMessage settings are exactly the same on my iPad air as on my iPhone five, but the alert tones do not sound off when I get an iMessage. Is this a known bug with or without a fix? Is there a setting that is different on the iPad then on the iPhone that I am just overlooking?

    Hi AppleUser543210,
If you are having issues with your iPad's notification alert sounds not functioning, you may want to try some things to troubleshoot.
First, quit all running applications and test again -
Force an app to close in iOS
Next, I would try restarting and if needed resetting the iPad -
Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If the issue is still present, you may want to restore the iPad as a new device -

  • How do you mute notification alerts sound?

i want to mute the notification alerts from emails and texts but still be able to hear the phone ring when someone calls... please help...
Post relates to: Pre p100eww (Sprint)

Open the email app. Go to the Preferences and Accounts in the top left drop down. Click each account you have set up and in those settings are New Message Play sound, on or off. Do for each email account.
Open your messaging app. Go to the same area. Under Ringtone choose Mute.

  • Change App Notification Sounds?

    Hi all!
Is it possible to have a different sound for app push notifications? For example, one for Twitter, one for Facebook, one for Words with Friends, etc.
    Thanks!
    Steph

Push notification alert tones are set by the sender.  Unless the particular app has a setting to change it (I don't know of any), there's no way to do this on the phone, other that to disable the tone altogether.

  • How to start visitor notification alerts using Company DNS and Company IP?

1- I need to set up visitor notification alerts using company DNS and Company IP? How to do that?
2- Second thing is, What is the common use of Company DNS and Company IP in Account fields?
    Thanks

    Shivangi,
This is largely an E9 thing - the functionality for notification has been made way easier with Profiler (yes, there is a separate license fee)
to do it without Prospect Profiler: (I think I have the actual documentation at my office - will check once I am back from #mme15
    1. Go to Setup, Visitor Profiles, then edit your view to show the fields you wish to see.  Since you are specifically asking about DNS and IP address, the 'Technical Information' view is a good starting point.
    2. Go to Setup, Users, User Defaults and Settings, Visitor Notification configurations.  You can use the default or create new (lower right corner)
Specify the view you wish to use.  You can also create a custom header for this notification email.
    3. Go to Setup, Notifications
    Configure your rules for notification.
for your second question - common use of DNS name and IP on account fields, I do not think there is a 'common use'  Since the visitor record is going to show the exact IP address and most organizations will have a range of IPs, any sort of comparison of the visitor to the account is difficult.
If your use case is to match visitors to their account, email domain is much easier.  Create a field on the Contact and Account for 'email address domain', a string manipulation cloud app to take the email address and remove everything before the '@'  the accounts will need to be populated with the domain via a data load (or you can get close with a update rule/validation rule set to take the company name, remove spaces and special characters and append with '.com')
You could then: link contacts to accounts using this field (will need to make sure there are no duplicate company records) or use a Match/dedupe rule to grab values from the company table to update the contact. (or vice versa)
    Hope this helps.

  • PO approvals @ Blackberry thru EBS-11i Normal/Wirless Notification Alerts

We are exploring PO/PR approvals through Blackberry utilizing EBS-11i Notification Alerts. I have three questions
    1. Whats difference between "Oracle (Notification/Email) Alerts" AND "Oracle Workflow Notification Alerts".
    2. Is EBS-11i sufficient to exploit its email sender to receive aswell and work with NID embedded in email
    3. Why do we need Application Server "Wireless" component!?! if we could receive normal emails with NID tag embedded through non wireless App server 10g setup. Our blackberries since receiving normal email fine, can/may also receive NID tagged emails in same traditional manner.
    Please guide.
    Thank you

  • No Server Name displyed in mail notification Alert generated by "total CPU Utilization Percentage is too high" Monitor

    Hello Everyone,
I need your assisstance in one of the issues with Mail Notification Alert generated by SCOM.
    Mail notification received as below:
Alert: Total CPU Utilization Percentage is too high
    Severity: 2
ServerName:Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard  - The threshold for the Processor\% Processor Time\_Total performance counter has been exceeded. The values that exceeded the threshold are: 97.091921488444015% CPU and a processor queue length of 16.
    Last modified by: System
The Alert was generated by "Total CPU Utilization Percentage"
But the problem with the above mail notification is it doesn't mentions about the affected server. So I would like to know how to tweak the monitors to provide the server name into it.
    Thanks & Regards,
    VROAN

  • App Notifications Greyed Out

    Hi,
I recently noticed that I am getting no App Notifications (Toasts) in the top right of my main screen. On a closer look, I noticed that all the settings are greyed out and a notice stating: Some settings are managed by your administrator. I've never seen this
    issue before.
This is just a home PC running Windows 8.1 Pro. Not connected to any domain.
Also, on the main start screen, the first app has a weird grey border around it:
Any help with fixing this would be great.
    Thanks.
    M Knight.
    Michael

OK, I have fixed all issues. Took me a while but they are fixed.
After the terrible Windows 8.1 Update 2 sort of really messed things up, I was left with no choice than to do a complete format. On re-installation from my Windows 8.1 DVD and most of the basic applications, I noticed that I was getting the same issues, though
    Microsoft have pulled Update 2
    KB2982791.
At first I thought it may be because my settings were saved on my OneDrive account and that the downloaded settings may have included something from my previous problems or that the actual backup could be corrupted. So I deleted the backups and reset my system.
Still no change. I was so frustrated and I thought forget this so I decided to start getting my applications set up how I like them. So, I came to Bitdefender Total Security 2015 to set a few things up and I noticed that they have this new option called Profiles.
So I looked at them and their settings and low and behold, I had found what has been causing me so much trouble.
The profiles disable or turn off many of Windows automated features, supposedly to improve performance. So I disabled all the options and switched off the profiles. Everything is back to normal now and working great.
So, if you happen to use any Bitdefender 2015 products, disable this option. I contacted their support and told them of the issues as nothing in their documentation warns of what may happen from using the profiles.
    So, problem solved.
Thanks to everyone who tried to help.
    Mike.

  • Trying to find app that alerts when apps on sale???

Hi, this is a silly question but I was browsing the app store awhile back and came across an app that alerted you when apps you were interested in went on sale. I moved on and don't remember the name of it. Now that I want to maybe purchase it, I don't know what it was called and can't find it when I search. Anyone have any ideas what does this? Thanks.
