Visual Basic Forum - Is it just me or is the Forum not updating when a post is answered so the post bumps to the top of the first page?

Maybe this is an issue with my webbrowser, though I doubt it, or maybe it's an issue with all forums currently due to some new "update" that again requires testing by microsoft end users in order for microsoft to debug issues the end users have
to find for them.

One suggestion worked from the Firefox prints incorrectly link mentioned above by mha007. I'm thrilled since this has been annoying me for weeks. Thanks mha007!
Reset all Firefox printer settings
# Open your profile folder:
# On the menu bar, click on the Help menu and select Troubleshooting Information. The Troubleshooting Information tab will open.
# Under the Application Basics section, click on Show in Finder. A window with your profile folder will open.
# Note: If you are unable to open or use Firefox, follow the instructions in Finding your profile without opening Firefox.
# On the menu bar, click on the Firefox menu and select Quit Firefox.
# In your profile folder, copy the prefs.js file to another folder to make a backup of it.
# Open the original prefs.js file in a text editor (such as TextEdit).
# Remove all lines in prefs.js that start with print. and save the file.

This may sound stupid, but I'm gonna throw it out there anyway. Is it possible, that if I have enough junk on my desktop it might disrupt the signal? It seems odd, but it kind of looks like my signal is strong and relatively steady now that I've cleaned my desktop. I do tend to get very cluttered. I use a lot of reference images and save text clippings to use later... it just piles up very quickly.
So, I wonder if all that extra effort my system has to do keeping up with the junk might have something to do with the drop outs?

How do I delete just the first page of a document?

A long time ago (2005) I made a document over 200 pages long - and now I need to edit it, specifically to delete the first (empty) page of the documet, so when I add a separate cover, the first page will be on the right, where it should be. I shall also need to edit/change the page numbering and TOC to match. It has been so long since I used Pages that I don't remember how to do this.
I tried selecting the first page in the sidebar vertical list of the pages and hitting the Delete button (or using the menu option) but this seems to want to delete the entire document, not just the selected page.
I know this sounds simple, but I can't figure out how to do it. Pages Help just says to delete the content, but there is no content on the page.

Either you have a lot of Pages breaks which you can delete or you have aded a Pages break which you also can delete. Turn on the invisible characters View > Show Invisibles. You will see blue characters.

Running head on just the first page

Click at bottom of first Page > Menu > Insert > Section Break
Click anywhere on 2nd page:
Inspector > Layout > Section > Configuration > uncheck Use Previous Headers and Footers
Type what you want in the 1st page Header. If you have anything in the subsequent pages delete or change it.

Can I keep more than just 5 entries in the podcast page?

I noticed that any post in iWeb's podcast page that gets moved to the archive is no longer indexed by iTunes or other aggregators. I was wondering if there is a way to keep more than just 5 entries in the podcast page so that they continue to remain pasrt of the RSS feed and stay indexed on the aggregator.

In a similar problem, does subscribing to a podcast with only one or two current episodes listed, allow all the archived episodes to be accessed or visible in the iTunes Store as well?
I don't really see the purpose of the Archive if it isn't ultimately used for cataloguing available iTunes downloads, and I am thus forced to load all blog entries on the main page.
Or am I doing something horribly wrong?

Is it possible to update a Command node on just the First Page?

I am attempting to add a line count with a value on the condition tab of a Command node but it keeps also applying the same change to the same Command node on the NEXT page. I want to add the linecount to the subsequent Command node but with a different value. Is it possible to only make changes to the command node on one page without also changing the command node on another page. I tried the settings under 'And additional event' Only on first page etc but it didn't make any difference
The Command node is located in the Main window within a Table node just before the footer.

I find which ever conditions I set on the command node on first page also appear on command node of next page.
I'm using the command node to throw to a new page depending on a linecount. Because the main window on the next page is longer than the main window on the first page the linecount is a larger number.

Whether or not this behavior occurs depends upon various preference settings and upon how you try to access the application in question. Personally, I like to organize my desktops according to project, so I regularly have windows from the same application spread out over several desktops. No problem.
For example, I have a Safari window in Desktop 1 and I want a Safari window in desktop 2. If, while in desktop 2, I bring Safari to the front by clicking on the Dock icon, I can open a new window in the usual ways. I could also just control-click on the Safari icon in the dock to get a new window in desktop 2.
(The only application that is a little weird in this regard is Finder. You have to do the control-click on it or it will always switch to a space with a window open.)
To make all this occur, I have Safari assigned to no desktops (control-click on Safari icon, then on Options) and in Mission Control preferences (in System Preferences) I have "When switching to an application..." UNchecked.
(Note that, with these settings, if an application is already in front and you click on its icon - or click twice on the icon if the applcation is not in front - the OS will assume you are looking for another open window and will switch spaces to give you one.)

Opening multi-page pdfs - just opens the first page

AI CS6: opening multi-page pdfs - choose page dialogue flashes for a milli-second & just opens the first page. Running Lion. Prior to CS6, it used to happen but then if I moved something on the page & reverted (f12), it would give me the dialogue box - but not anymore. Do you have a copy of Acrobat 7 or 8 (Pro, not Reader)? If so, open the PDF in Acrobat and from the Document menu select Extract pages making sure you have checked the box that says Extract Pages as Separate Files.

To answer the post title FireFox save all downloads automatically in the download folder, which you can find in the Documents folder. If you want to choose where to save your downloads go to tools>options>check always ask me where to save files.
Secondly, I am assuming you have IE 8 installed as this is the only version that supports this fix that is currently not in beta. Go to control panel>internet options>advanced tab and reset the settings at the bottom. This may or may not fix the problem but it is a good first step.
