Visual effects in iTunes

Can anyone tell me what software was used to get the Visual effects in iTunes?
I didn't know where to post this query so Using iTunes won out.

Something has corrupted my iTunes visualizer.
It used to be that when I ran the visualizer an Apple logo would begin in the middle of the display and then slowly fade away. The logo no longer appears.
I haven't had any other issues with iTunes lately except that videos choke when i play them in itunes. So I just open them with quicktime with a handy applescript I got from Doug. I really don't think these issues are related.

Hi everybody! See, my cat decided two days ago to sleep on the keyboard of my portable computer while iTunes was on and now the visual effects don't work. The screen simply stays black. I don't know which key was pressed or whatever... I have even reinstalled iTunes but it still doesn't work well. Any ideas? Thank you...

Every version of iTunes that supports syncing with an iPhone has the ability to sync pictures to the device.
Resize the iTunes windowso that you can see the entire window.

Can I disable visual effects in iTunes 10?

I don't have a discrete graphics card, and a number of the fading effects in iTunes 10 (and in versions before, but with 10 it's gotten much worse) lag my computer or just appear really glitchy. Is there any way I can disable those effects entirely?

Full screen Visual Effects only to 640x480

I have a problem with itunes visual effect. I have an ati radeon x600pro 256MB video card, my resolution is 1280x1024, 70Hz.
if I see visual effect in itunes window it's all ok, but if I want visualize visual effect in full screen mode my resolutions change to 640x480.
how can i do to view it at my resolutions 1280x1024?

For now, that setting cannot be changed. I believe it's 800x600 by the way. That's just the way iTunes' visualiser is coded at this time.

Visual Effects/Equalizer for mp3 pla

So i have a zen vision, and i was just wondering if anyone knew of some program or something i can put on it to get visual effects like windows media player, or itunes has. I know of the program g-force, which adds visual effects that are real fancy and neat looking to wmp, but i dont know of any that could be compatibalized(if thats a word) with the zen vision.
I like to bring my zen to the gym, and when im running it would just be cooler to look at the little visualizations than random people and walls.

Well that seems like a list of five to me..
You won't get buttons but you can have keyboard shortcuts... which is 'no click' access.
- button to directly inactivate/activate the equalizer
apple - 2
- for instand full screen visual effects
apple - t to turn on visual effects, then apple - f to go full screen
- for instand equalizer access
er, apple - 2 again.

Visual effects 'gelee' and 'stix'

Hi,
I'm searching for the visual effects 'gelee' and 'stix' in iTunes 11.0.3.
Until today, I was able to open them everytime I want.
Today, I opened iTunes on my Mac and suddenly the named effects hadn't been there anymore.
What could or should I do to get them again?

ONE CLICK access (on/off) equalizer, visual effects, sound enhancements

Hello,
I have two issues with iTunes:
1) to easily sound switch back and forth using internal speakers or external HiFi set
- button to directly inactivate/activate the equalizer
- button to directy inactivate/activate the "sound enhancements" from the preference menue
Anyway simple to get such buttons implemented?
2) In the old iTunes days there where some handy click buttons available
- for instand full screen visual effects
- for instand equalizer access
How to "get back"?

Why can't we "set visuals enabled" of iTunes via AppleScript anymore?

You used to be able to set visuals enabled of iTunes to true or false. But the current version of Leopard and iTunes prohibit this.
Thus if you do:
tell application "iTunes"
set visuals enabled to true
end tell
you get the error:
AppleScript Error
iTunes got an error: Can’t set visuals enabled to true.
Is this a bug?

... works, as expected, on a PowerPC G4 PowerMac, running Tiger (MacOS X 10.4.11), with iTunes v. 7.0.1.
Your code presents the AppleScript error message of ...
'iTunes got an error: Can’t set visuals enabled to true.'
... on an Intel based MacMini, running Tiger (MacOS X 10.4.11), with iTunes v. 7.5; and, and an Intel based MacBook, running 'Leopard'* (MacOS X 10.5.2), with iTunes v. 7.4.2, respectively.

Here is how I would do it.
1) Drag the clip into your project, if it isn't already.
2) Select those frames that you want to apply the effect by dragging. They should be enclosed in a yellow border.
3) Right click within this yellow border and select "Split Clip"
4) You can now apply the effect to this section.

Photoshop CS4 wont work unless Vista Visual effects are turned off.

Hey guys, having a problem with PS CS4 here.
Okay normally when I load photoshop after anywhere from a couple minutes to half an hour it starts to kind crash, all the graphics go crazy, and noise is everywhere, and its imprinting on other windows including my desktop and task bar, every time it ends with me having to restart my computer.
However I have figured out how to fix it, if I turn off the visual effects in vista, it doesn't do it anymore, however its annoying without the visual effects, so I'm trying to work out how to fix it, again.
And yes it sounds like a graphic driver problem to me, but I've made sure it was updated and also went through all the common bug fixes in PS CS4, could my computer not be graphically powerful enough to run it?

One thing I found useful with CS4 at one point in the past was to dial back the OpenGL advanced options to "Basic".
The real problem, if not hardware failure, is likely graphics drivers. Most folks think latest is greatest, but the graphics driver writers to this day are still struggling to get the incredibly complex OpenGL implementations to work properly.
If your graphics card is not quite current (e.g., a few years old or less) the driver writers do less and less work to keep the software up for it - makes sense, their company is no longer making any money by selling cards that have gone obsolete; they're working more on the software for the latest new model.

Turning off visual effects for performance purposes

I've recently started using a Mac. I've been a PC user all my life, so I'm unfamiliar with how my new machine works.
I'm going to be using this computer for audio recording, and with that, I want as much power out of my computer as I can get. I know with Windows, there are ways to turn off visual effects, like window shadows and things like that in order to save processing power for other things. Is there a way to strip down OS X in the same way?

back in the day (OS 7/8/9) you had what was called t he extension manager. when i would work in cubase i had an extension set that was stripped down - similar to what you are asking.
now things are different. OS X is very efficient.
the only thing you need to do is only run the apps you need to have open (don't have mail, internet, etc. running while recording)
there are 3rd party apps that will remove window shadows, etc. - but I don't think it is necessary.
Max out your ram, and only run the apps you need running and you should be fine.

Probelms with visual effects

I would like to know if is possible, in an architecture based on terminal server users (logging and working on a windows 2012 server using thin clients), to set one or more group policy to fix the visual effects (I want to disable effects when moving/minimize/maximize
explorer's windows) for any user connecting via RDP to the server.
If I set 'disable effects on windows' (in best performance) as Administrator, or if I disable it as User, it works for the time of that session, but the following time the user logs in, the setting reset himself to default, and I still have the effects I'm
trying to disable turned on.
Hope you can suggest me how to fix this matter because users working in RDP via thin client, with effects turned on, have many problems of video and system slowness...

Reset visual effects

Hi,
I was fiddling around with the settings "p,m,l etc" and messed up the thing.
Is it possible to reset to the original settings ( afterall that was the best;)
iTunes8 visual effects.

Thanks for your answer and concern, Reaver. I check with Windows Update on a regular basis. To be sure I did it again, exactly as you described, but I have zero updates to download. Everything is up to date.
To be more specific about my problem: Visual effects now works fine in Media Player but, as before, not at all in Media Center. I think one of the updates I did earlier fixed the problem in Media Player without me noticing it.
But Windows Update takes care of Media Center too, doesnt it? As I remember there were updates installed for Media Center when I started and configured my new laptop a month ago.
I have all Visual Effects possible active in the settings in Media Center, like Spikes and Ambiance and what have you. I have tried to switch them on and off - but all I get is a Black Hole. And of course in the left corner the artist and title, as specified in the settings.
So please, I still need help.

Drag n Drop in JTree - missing the visual effect

Hi,
I already implemented the D&D on Jtree (from a JList)
I've implemented DropTargetListener and it works
I've the visual effect of the Dragged object on the mouse
I have an extended DefaultTreeCellRenderer witch I use for other things.
My problem is how do I get the visual effect of the active tree nodes when I drag it over them ?

Drag and drop is not something you can just turn on and off im afraid. You have 2 choices:
1. if the dragging and dropping only occurs over a single component such as your tree, you could probably make a simplified on with mouse [motion?] listeners. On a mouse drag it could check which node was under the drag point and keep that in a variable. On a mouse release it could look to see if theres a node there and if so make it a child of that node.
2. Implement full drag and drop, subclassing the JTree and having both a DragSource and DropTarget assigned to it. Theres a load of interfaces to implement but its not too difficult. Youll also need to make a DataFlavor class to contain the node values. Its the more involved solution but would probably be better in the long run.
