Visual Query Builder Doesn't Work

I'm using the ColdFusion extensions to Flex Builder 3
(3.0.1.205647), and I can't use the Visual Query Builder. This is a
fresh ColdFusion8 install. I have RDS configured, I even test the
connection successfully.
I can use the RDS DataView and see the databases, click on
cfartgallery, for example, and show the 'art' table contents. No
problem. Then I click the 'Visual Query Builder' button, and
nothing happens. The query builder does not show.
It's not a big deal until I try and run the CF/Ajax app
wizard, and editing the master page is supposed to open up the
query builder...same problem. Even here it won't open. So, I can't
edit anything or use the wizards at all. I don't get any error
message, it just doesn't do anything when I click the button.
Anyone else have this problem? Is there some setting I am
missing or have to configure after a fresh install in the CF
administrator?

Using vista?
Right-click on Flex and click Run As Administrator

  • Flex/cold fusion wizard & Visual Query builder has a problem

has anybody tried the cold fusion / flex application wizard in flex 3?
to get there follow these menu choices:
file     new     other     cold fusion wizards     coldfusion / flex application wizard
I previously installed cf8 and the rds query viewer works fine.
i simply choose from the following menus:
window     other views...     Cold Fusion     RDS dataview
i was initially prompted for the rds password which i entered.
in the RDS Dataview, I can see the tables, columns, and data for all my existing datasources.
Unfortunately, when I use the COld Fusion/Flex application wizard,
I get to the page layout and design screen, add a page with the name artists, choose page type master,  and click the Edit master page button.
Nothing happens when I click the Edit Master Page button.  I followed the cf/flex tutorial exactly but there is no query builder.
I dont know if this is related but in the RDS query viewer, the Visual Query BUilder doesn't work.
I think this may be the problem (the visual query builder has a problem)
Unfortunately, how do I fix this problem

    already found the answer
flex has to be run as administrator if using WIndows Vista
simply shut down flex, right click the startup icon, choose run as administrator, and the visual query builder runs fine.
Dont know why this occurs because you are always prompted for the rds password.
    anyway, problem solved.

  • SQLDeveloper 4.0 EA1 - Suport for MySQL Sources in Visual Query Builder

Is there a reason for stopping support of MySQL sources in the 'visual' Query Builder Tab besides maybe policial decisions?
In Version 3.0.04 it works really good and I use it often.

Ensuring robustness for Oracle sql queries is challenging enough. When you remember that our MySQL (and any other database not called 'Oracle') support is there primarily for migrations TO Oracle, then it doesn't make much sense to devote developer resources to this feature.

  • Visual Query Builder problem

I have the trail version of Flex Builder 2 IDE. I can run the
RDS, and do manual SQL queries. But when I click on the Visual
Query Builder button, nothing happens - not even an error message.
When I try to use the ColdFusion/Flex application Wizard, I can get
to the Page Layout and Design screen. Then when I click on the Edit
Master Page or Edit Detail Page button, again, nothing happens. I
think this also uses the Visual Query Builder, so maybe that's why
    it isn't working.
Is there something extra I didn't download or setup?
    Thanks for your help.

  • Visual Query Builder

    Hello !
I am currently trying out the CFBuilder beta on a laptop running MS Windows XP Pro SP3 with 2GB RAM.  I also have the developer edition of Coldfusion 8 installed on that machine running the local server.
The RDS Viewer appears to be configured correctly and I can see all of the tables for all of the databases I have declared in CF Admin and I can execute SQL statements as well as view the contents of each table but I do not have the button on the RDS Viewer to activate the visual query builder.  Where is the visual query builder ?  The user guide mentions that this should be available but I don't appear to have the button for it and can therefore not use it.
Is the visual query builer feature missing in this beta ?  Is anyone else having the same problem and what did you do to rectify it ?  What am I doing wrong ?
    I would appreciate some help.
    Thank you.
    Ed

I meant to add that there is are in fact other Eclipse-based database query tools that one may want to consider for more functionality:
    Eclipse SQL Explorer - http://eclipsesql.sourceforge.net/
    QuantumDB - http://quantum.sourceforge.net/
I mention these (and other non-Eclipse-based query tools) in my CF411 site category on them, http://www.cf411.com/#query.
Then, too, there is also a Database Explorer view that comes with Aptana (which is bundled in CFBuilder). You can find it with Window>show view>other>databases. Curiously, unlike the full version in Aptana as described here (http://www.aptana.com/docs/index.php/Database_Explorer), the one in CFB seems limited to connecting only to Derby and SQLLite databases. We can't even provide the JDBC connection string to try to point ot others.
(And lest one get excited about using the Derby (embedded) option when creating a new connection in that window, that means an embedded derby database embedded in CFBuilder, not one embedded in CF itself. There is the "derby (network)" option, but that will work only if you've set up the network server feature of Derby. For more on those things, see a talk I did on the topic at http://www.carehart.org/presentations/#derby).
Anyway, I've not yet explored the other two alternatives above. Has anyone else?
(PS if any of you get the forum feed by email, sorry if what you saw got truncated above. I just learned that if you inadvertantly do "Ctrl-S" while typing in these forums (on the web interface), it automatically saves and POSTs the message. Yikes.)

  • Where is Visual Query Builder??

In the RDS Query Viewer, there is an alleged Visual Query button to launch the Visual Query Builder. There is no button present for the Visual Query Builder as shown in the help file.  I cannot find any preferences that hide this button.  Please help!  Thanks.  MPe-commerce

There is a whole section of help that tells you how to use Visual Query Builder. See this:
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/ColdFusion/9.0/Developing/WSc3ff6d0ea77859461172e0811cbec16ab8 -7ff9.html.
The exact same thing appears in the CF Builder help within Flash Builder. Problem is, like other items I have found, it’s all phony because it does not exist.
Adobe has known this all along. Look at this forum post from August of last year: http://forums.adobe.com/message/2154542.
I got CF Builder because it came for free with FlashBuilder – and it’s not even worth that (free) price because you have to put up with the frustration of dealing with the kinds of issues we are dealing with now.
And to think that, evidently, some poor suckers have paid $299… As far as I am concerned, that borders on fraud.
The way it looks to me, they have taken the free ColdFusion Extensions for FlexBuilder and made them into a $299 half-baked product (marketers call it ‘re-purposing’).
    I say half-baked because CF Builder documents, but does not have;
    Visual      Query Builder
The      ability to generate a CFC from an AS class
ColdFusion Extensions for FlexBuilder do have those features and they work fine. But you cannot install those in Flash Builder – I know because I tried.
Sorry Adobe, but I am beginning to think of you as the Goldman Sachs of the software industry.

when we can expect a visual query builder in sql Developer ?
also , how i can make an auto increment field in SQL develoepr ?
    Thanks

I can't answer your first question.. but the second has been hashed over a few times. In short, there are no auto-increment fields in Oracle. Instead there are sequences which are more complicated to use, but much more versitile.

Voice mail, including visual voice mail, is a carrier feature. Contact your carrier again and escalate the call until you get hold of someone with a clue.
This is assuming you're using a Straight Talk CDMA iPhone. If you're using an unlocked iPhone with a Straight Talk GSM SIM card, that's not supported by either StraightTalk or Apple.

  • Using Table.Join formula takes extremly long time to get results.(Why Query Folding doesn't work?)

    Hi,
I built a query with 4 tables inside (load from Oracle DB and two of them are quite big, more than millions of rows). After filtering, I tried to build relationships between tables using Table.Join formula. However, the process took extremly long time to
bring out results (I ended the process after 15 mins' processing). There's a status bar kept updating while the query was processing, which is showed as  . I suppose
this is because the query folding didn't working, so PQ had to load all the data to local memory first then do the opertion, instead of doing all the work on the source system side. Am I right? If yes, is there any ways to solve this issue?
    Thanks.

  • Update to 1.1.3 - but Folio Builder doesn´t work!

    Hi,
we read every post about the current problem with the different versions of the folio builder.
We have a new PC with Windows 7 and CS5 (no Prerelease Tools installed).
I have installed and removed every version of dps and folio tools.
On my Mac Book with CS5 it works, on a second PC with CS 5.5. it works but on our PC with CS 5 it doesn`t work.
I have installed the following Tools:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5018
I get the [srv.unknown} error - ok - I read the post that it is important to install version 1.1.3.
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5154
I installed the version 1.1.3 and get the following error when I try to login the folio builder panel.
In English: error during communication with server. Please check your network communication and try again.
    Thanks for your support

We're having the same issues. Yesterday, Monday the 12th, everything was working okay. Today, I can't upload a simple two page folio. Any ideas?

  • DLL build by Labview App Builder doesn't work if Built-IN functions used!?

    Hi All,
    I hope somebody shed some light on this;
(All VIs are in the attached case1-2.zip)
    Case 1:
A VI reads a 1D array data and Uses RMS.vi to calc the rms of the data and returns the rms value and the error value. (make1_dll.vi).
This VI is used to build a DLL. (test1.dll using the test1.bld)
Call this DLL in a new VI (just to test that the DLL works) (test1.vi)
RUN the new VI >>> Result Nothing happens No Error or Crash and No result!!!
    Case2 :
Build the above without using the “RMS.vi” and works OK. (see case2 VIs)
Any idea why the build-in function doesn’t work?
    Best regards

You might want to look at the path building you are doing to find the RMS VI. If you are using relative paths, then LabVIEW calls like "VI Path" will have an extra path if the VI is an exe or inside an LLB.
Drop some probes (indicators, outputs, etc.), rebuild and double check the paths. I've been burned by this before...
If this is the case, you can use the VI properties, or path parsing to solve it.
    joel
I don't think that is the problem. The RMS.vi is referenced as statically linked VI in the make1_dll.vi.
As such it should be linked into the LabVIEW DLL as well. What I suspect is the problem is the fact that
the RMS.vi uses the lvanlys.dll and that for some reason there is something going wrong with the LabVIEW
test1.dll, which runs in the LabVIEW runtime context, calling lvanlys.dll while executed in the context
of LabVIEW itself. Probably something to do with the changes to how lvanlys.dll is treated between LV 7.0
    and 7.1.
I see this same behaviour on my system too, so an installation problem is quite unlikely. Other than that calling a LabVIEW dll from within LabVIEW makes not that much sense (but did work fine in the past save from some hassles in 6.0 and 6.0.1), I have no explanation why this doesn't work.

  • Query variable doesn't work

Help, I have a query with a variable that doesn't work, if I substitute a valid value for the variable it works correctly. What am I doing wrong here?

Segment_1 is the value I what to let the user enter.
This query also groups by month, so there is a row for each month, each GL account. Is there a way I can collapse this to one line per account? And show each the GL amount of each month across?
The purpose of this query is to give a report of each GL account with a column amount for each month.

  • DLL created with LV 7.1 Application Builder doesn,t work when analysis subVIs are present

I'm looking for a solution of the following problem.
The DLL created by the "sum1.vi" source works properly, while the DLL create by "sum2.vi" always gives a zero result.
The "sum2.vi" source contains an additional "Hanning Window" VI (not wired), that seems to be the cause of the problem.
If I delete the Hanning VI and re-build the DLL, the same works fine
Is there a solution or is it not possible to make Labview DLLs when containing analysis VIs as filters, windows, FFTs, and so on?

    Natalino Roberto
Ok, you probably got lucky since the lvanlys.dll seems to implement that function directly. However most Advanced Analysis functions are just redirected by lvanlys.dll to the Intel Math Kerneal Library that gets installed with LabVIEW 7.1 and higher. The only way to get that properly installed with your LabVIEW executable or DLL is to create a LabVIEW installer in your Application Builder and make sure to select under "Installer Settings->Advanced" the "LabVIEW Run-Time Engine" and the "Analyze VIs Support". Then use that installer to install your DLL on another computer.

  • Using JDBC with Visual Studio J++ doesn't work.

    G'day all,
I am trying to create an applet that extracts data from an Access 2000 database, which is then displayed to the applet. Currently I am using Visual Studio J++ 6.0 as my development platform.
I am having trouble trying to connect to my Access 2000 database, and I'm searching for some example code on how to do this.
I'm pretty much a Java newbie, so all my attempts have failed. Also since all the example code I have is for a JDK implementation I'm not sure if my J++ complier is throwing an error on the basis that the code is not Misro$oft.
Does anyone know where I can source code for such a solution, for connection to an Access 2000 database under a J++ 6.0 compiler?
Any details would be greatly appreciated.

    Ripperjack,
You're limited by the lack of support for the java standard in Microsoft's J++ 6.0's VM. I tried to get JDBC to work for a while in J++ and was unable to. I finally broke down and wrote the thing using ADO. The ADO interface is very intuative for ADO programmers and in fact the syntax is similar to JDBC.
Later I regretted using J++ because I wanted to make the code portable and relieve my reliance on the Microsoft libraries. I rewrote some of my applications using JDK 2 and JDBC, and am currently rewriting the rest. You can use the ODBC-JDBC bridge with JDK 2 and get to that Access database.
