Need help installing VS2013, once i click install it gives the following message:
"setup detected an issue during the operation
please click below for solution
a problem caused the program to stop........"
Please assist in a solution

It seems your install package is corrupted. As your pvdg42 says, do you check the SHA-1 for the downloaded ISO. If not, please use the tool in below link to check your ISO checksum.

If the SHA-1 may not same to the Visual Studio 2013 Ultimate, you should try to download the ISO again or try to install by web downloader.
If the errors also occurs,

Visual Studio 2013 Ultimate with Update 4 Installation Hangs on "Windows Software Development Kit" step

Hi,
I am attempting to install Visual Studio 2013 Ultimate with Update 4 on a Windows 2008 Server R2 machine that also has Visual Studio 2012 Ultimate already installed.
Unfortunately, the installation always hangs on the "Windows Software Development Kit" step. I have let it run overnight and the installation process never gets past this step. I always have to just kill the process, and uninstall.
I have validated the checksum of the ISO, run the .exe as administrator, and also tried to install the software to both the C and D drive.
I have also tried to run the installation with all of the optional components checked as well as with none of the optional components checked.
In addition, I have uninstalled visual studio 2013 using the /uninstall /force command
I have examined the log files produced at C:\Users\MYNAME\AppData\Local\Temp and I dont see anything obviously wrong.

Actually you can refer to the following page to troubleshoot Windows SDK issue:

The recommend way is to manually install Windows SDK itself and check the logs in detail.

I can't install Visual Studio 2013 Ultimate in my Windows 8.1 Pro

Good Day Everyone!
I have downloaded an ISO file of VS2013 installer from Microsoft Download Center. I have checked the requirements and I have what it needs to be installed. But when I mount the ISO disc image, an error message appear.
G:\
Application not found.
I also tried to run it from the inside and another error shows.
Visual Studio 2013 Ultimate has stopped.
I have the ISO file checked and it matches the CRC and SHA1 posted from the download center. I also have .net frameworks 3.5 and 4.0 installed in my laptop.
I don't know what else to do. Please help. Thanks

Base on your question, please follow these steps to check the result:
1.Update your windows and disable Anti-Virus software, then reboot your system.
2.Clear your %temp% folder.
3.Run the setup file as administrator.
4.If the installation fails, please use http://aka.ms/vscollect to gather the latest installation logs. After using it, you will find vslogs.cab from %temp% folder. Please upload the file to

If it doesn't work,we suggest you burn the image to Disc ,and install
Visual Studio 2013 Ultimate by DVD.

Problem with activation of Visual Studio 2013 Ultimate - DreamSpark

I'm facing strange problem while trying to activate Visual Studio 2013 Ultimate. I first install it on my Windows 8.1 machine and used it without activation, today as trial expired I've tried to enter my DreamSpark product key for it. The problem is when
I click on 'Apply' button nothing happens. No reaction completely
I have screenshot, but cannot attach it
I've tried to reinstall and repair VS 2013 installation. Same problem

"as trial expired" Does mean the trial period had ended prior to your attempt to register your VS?
If it is not expired, have you tried Help->Register Product? What happens if you try that?

Automatic Code generation from UML for C++ in Visual Studio 2013 Ultimate

Hi all,
I am using Visual Studio 2013 Ultimate to design UML diagrams and want to use the class diagram to generate C++ code,
however I found that there seems only support C# generation.
Is there any way to do the code generation (even round-trip engineering with C++/UML model) from Visual Studio 2013 Ultimate?
There is a way to do C++ code generation by customize the text template file right? but it is time consuming and we don't have much time to do it.:(

Since the STEs are T4 template and you can just take template and code any changes or improvements you require yourselves! As you mentions, there is a EF5.x STE generator, you could download it and edit it. You could check this article:
Upgrading to EF6, we could see that from EF5 to EF6, the team moves classes to a new namespace, so we need to modify the T4 template to generate the new namespace.

Can I downgrade from Visual Studio 2013 Ultimate to VS 2013 professional

Hi have a few licences of Visual Studio 2013 Ultimate and to keep it in line with our other users who have VS 2010 Pro
Am I ok to downgrade the licence from 2013 ultimate to 2010 pro.
The software hasnt been installed on any PC as yet, its just a case of if licensing allows us to downgrade version and edition

By the way, the two products are different. If you only bought the key for your Visual Studio 2013, I don't think you can use the same key in Visual Studio 2010.
Anyway, you can consult the license specialists to ask whether there is a account type for you so that you can use both the two products.

Evaluation period has ended trying to create a BizTalk project in Visual Studio 2013 ultimate

Hi,
I am doing a proof-of-concept with BizTalk, and I am using evaluation versions of everything involved, SQL server 2012 SP1, Windows server 2012, Visual Studio 2013 R2 and BizTalk 2013 R2.
All worked (relatively speaking) until I finally came to creating a BizTalk project in Visual Studio 2013 R2.
I installed the relevant BizTalk components on that machine (windows 8.1 32-bit, non eval) and then I get the BizTalk evaluation period has ended error message.
I am sort of stumped, I have a long while left on the evaluation period on all involved software, anyone knows what this is about?

I'd like to know how do you connect to TFS 2010,. When you connect to TFS 2010 via Visual Studio 2013, you have to install Team Explorer 2013 and Connect using the http://server:port/tfs/ProjectCollection url format for on premise servers. Check the

Visual Studio 2012 Ultimate Installation Stop contineing

I found a problem while installing VS2012 on my Window 8, It is an ISO Image, its exracts successfully but when it starts setup, the setup stops itself without prompting for an error before showing the the step of component to be installed. Same setup works

Visual Studio 2013 Ultimate - how to connect to multiple TFS Servers?

Hi Folks,
I have to use two different Team Foundation servers (different solutions on each one). I have connected to one TFS server using Team Explorer, but I cannot work out how to connect to the second server. I have the settings 'Connect:
Offline' - but I cannot find the dialog where I can enter the address of the other TFS Server.
On previous versions of Visual Studio, one could 'Disconnect' and then choose 'Connect to Team Project', however, that option no longer seems to be available.
When I try and open the solution that is on the other server I get binding not found errors and cannot checkout the solution.

Keep in mind that what you see in the toolbox depends on the file that is currently active.

Visual Studio 2013 - Cordova Installation

I installed the cordova CPT I just downloaded. I deselected a component (iTunes) when I installed it. So I went back in when I found out it was required to work in VS and tried to modify the build, but nothing was listed for me to select. So I decided to
uninstall it so i could install it with all the components. The problem is that it's been uninstalling for over an hour and it's not going anywhere during the Configuring your system phase of the uninstall. I killed it once and after a reboot I was able to
get back in and try it again, but it failed at the same point.
Any ideas?

Generally, I know that we can un-install a tool/ software by going to the Control Panel->All Control Panel Items->Programs and Features-> select the tool/ software -> click Change. So I suggest you can try to do it again from the control panel

Visual studio 2013 Installation professional

Report features are not installed while installing visual studio 2013 professional .
even-tho we selected all the features at the time of visual studio 2013 professional installation.
System is Up-to-date .
windows 7 Professional with 64-bit OS .
Latest 4.5.1 framework has been installed .
Report viewer 2012 run time and report viewer 2011 has been installed successfully .
Sql management Studio 2012 with all the features has been Enabled with Business Intelligent Tool has been enabled.
Please help us to sort out this problem .

I get the following errors when trying to compile any type of project after an install visual studio 2013 professional with update 4 on a computer that has no access to the internet. No previous versions of visual studio have been on the machine.
Warning MSB8003: Could not find windowssdkdir from the registry. Target framework version or platform toolset may be set to an invalid version number.
Error LNK 1104: cannot open file kernel32.lib
Any ideas?

Can't Create New Excel Project Visual Studio 2013 Office Tools The Project Cannot Be Created

I am having this issue on two computers. If I try to create an Excel 2013 Workbook C# in new projects, and choose create a new workbook, it starts to open Excel, and then I get this error in VS

Uninstall & Reinstall of VSTO from the Visual Studio Installer
Uninstall & Reinstall of Visual Studio 2013 Ultimate, (manually removing anything with visual studio that was left over)
Manually turning on the add-on Visual Studio Tools for Office Design-Time Adapter for Excel
Installing VSTO by hand
Enabling Macros
Running VS as administrator
Uninstalling & Reinstalling Office 2013 Pro Plus OLP

Like I said, this problem occurs on TWO pc's. I have tried 2013 Visual Studio R1 and R2. Does anyone have any ideas?
