Visualizer: keyboard options?

When I type: ?
with the iTunes Visualizer running, I see a set of keyboard options, which are not explained (AFAIK) in the iTunes "help" docs.
What do these keys do? Some seem to do nothing at all...
Thanks

Here's an update to that article: http://www.macworld.com/article/135762/2008/09/itunes8visualizer.html

Go to Settings>General>Keyboards>Predictive Text>ON. If it is on, you can toggle it off and then back on. The other method is to check in the typing area of the Messages app and it could be minimized. You would see a small line in the center just below the typing area. You would just need to put your finger on that small line and swipe upwards. But either should bring it back.

  • Third-party keyboard option is not available

    hi,
in the General > Keyboard > Add New Keyboard... i don't see the THIRD-PARTY KEYBOARDS option.
i have an iPhone 5 with iOS 8. i have installed iOS 8 (upgrade and clean install) and set my iPhone as new.
i am wondering why i don't see this option.
    thank you for the reply,
    david

Third-party keyboards are in the App Store. To use one, download it, then run the app. Then you can go to Settings->General->Keyboard-Add New Keyboard and you will see it ready to enable.

  • HT5957 iOS 7.0.2 How do I change to Greek keyboard option for passcode entry

How does one change the passcode entry keyboard option?

You may not want to do this as my iPhone is now disabled, as are a number of others. There appears to be a problem unlocking the device once a complex password is enabled.

    Hi
A long story about your issue... I think the reason of this is why you have deleted some registry keys. If you delete something in the Windows registry you should really know what you do. You can damage the complete Windows system!
So I think this is the reason why the keyboard doesnt anymore.
In the user manual I have founded that the CD-ROM booting option is only available with optional optical disk drive.
So for me it sounds like that your USB CD drive is not compatible to the notebook

  • Missing "Evdev-managed keyboard" option in KDE

I've been trying to solve some outstanding keyboard config issues. Right now, I have some keys which don't do anything and which don't even seem to be properly recognised by the X server. (Judging by output using xev.)
I'm using KDE and I found the recommendation on the KDE configuration page of Arch's wiki to set the keyboard layout to "Evdev-managed keyboard". Googling also suggestions this might be the solution.
However, when I look at the list in the drop-down menu of System Settings > Input Devices > Keyboard > Hardware > Keyboard model, I can't find anything which looks like this option. I'm using the default Arch config file /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-evdev.conf and it is obvious from that that evdev _should_ be managing my keyboard.
Can anybody tell me what I'm missing? Where can I find this option?
The option isn't listed in /usr/share/X11/xkb/rules/base.lst or /usr/share/X11/xkb/rules/xorg.lst which do seem to match other options in the menu. So I assume it should be added automatically by KDE? Or does its absence show there is something wrong with my setup/installation at some point?
Thanks for any hints. (I am afraid I am asking a lot of questions right now!)

It is definitely not the locale issue in my case - my locales are set properly and the output of locale is as expected.
No, I haven't found a solution. I'm beginning to suspect it is a bug or something odd about the interaction between KDE and Arch somehow. I had this problem on pretty much a new install and my installation is not "generally messed up" so far as I can tell. (I am just starting to get it configured a little more comfortably but have a ways to go.)
I would be very grateful for any hints, pointers, suggestions, solutions, tea or sympathy available.

  • Automated addition of Chinese Pinyin keyboard options

I have Windows 7 x64 sp1 machines with both English and Chinese keyboards installed.  The Chinese keyboard is
Chinese (Simplified) - US Keyboard and was installed via regkey during the image process, using the input locale code for Chinese Simplified 00000804
    from here
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc766503(v=WS.10).aspx
I have  a request to add the Chinese (Simplified) - Microsoft Pinyin New experience input, and Microsoft Pinyin ABC input styles, which are additional options when navigating to Region and Language-Change Keyboards-Add-Chinese (Simplified PRC)
There aren't locale codes for these, how can I add these selections to my windows 7 machines in Asia in an automated way, without having to touch each one manually?
thanks in advance for any direction on this
    Tony

    Hi, Tony.
For Chinese (Simplified) - Microsoft Pinyin New experience input the code is  E0210804, you can follow the same way here:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc766503(v=WS.10).aspx
The Chinese ( Simplified )-Microsoft Pinyin ABC Input Style uses the same hex code 00000804 as well as the Chinese ( Simplified )-US Keyboard.
The only differences are due to the Layout Display Name and the Layout Text. You could change it in the following registry location:
    a. Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then press ENTER.
    b. Locate and click the following registry key:
     HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Keyboard Layouts\00000804
    c. For the Chinese ( Simplified )-US Keyboard, the Layout Display Name sets the value: @%SystemRoot%\system32\input.dll,-5072
    d. For the Chinese ( Simplified )-Microsoft Pinyin ABC Input Style, the Layout Display Name sets the value: @%SystemRoot%\system32\input.dll,-5076
    e. By Default, the Chinese ( Simplified )-US Keyboard is configured for the Layout Display Name and the Layout Text. In order to configure the Chinese ( Simplified )
-Microsoft Pinyin ABC Input Style as the default input keyboard, you may write a script to modify the above registry file.

  • IPad ios6 update Chinese keyboard option missing dynamic selection in zhuyin

After update my iPad to ios6, the zhyin has different keyboard layout. I was told to switch the option to dynamic so I can switch back to the old way.  But I don't see such selection when I am in general -> keyboard -> Chinese traditional zhuyin-> zhuyin (only selection I have)
    Help?

You may want to search/ask in the Chinese Mac group, I doubt there is any fix other than asking Apple to change it.

I have turned on/off all keyboard and spelling options in Settings. Restore and setup as new? Keeping finders crozzed.

  • Problems with British/USA keyboard options

Okay, so I am using InDesign CS4.
I just got a new computer, and it's an HP (windows 7)
I have my keyboard set to USA English, and in all other programs, when I hit shift+2, I get the @ symbol...
In InDesign, though, it selects the British Option, in the cae of the Sift+2, I get quotation marks instead. Or, if I do Sift + 3, I should get a #, but I get the GBP symbol instead.
How do I change this? This problem only occurs in InDesign, and no other programs.
    Thanks!

There's a link at the bottom of the email to bring you back to the page. If you are logged in you should see buttons to mark an answer as helpful (you can mark 2) or Correct (only 1) and that gives the points. Can't take them back, though, so be careful.
There's also a link up at the top to mark the question "answered."

  • 10.2 no keyboard option?

    I have a new Z10.
Want to turn keyboard input volume off, i followed the advice to go to settings, language and input, where I should see a further option for keyboard, and then a volume slider, but there is no mention of keyboard?
Also, how do I insert the word suggestions when typing, I've touched them, and slide from all directions and they don't insert into body of text.

  • Keyboard option R is no longer typing brand symbol

For some reason, Option-R no longer types a brand symbol in any of my programs. © works. I rest keyboard shortcuts in system preferences, and reset keyboard shortcuts in my programs. Having no other issues. (imac, wireless keyboard)

Delete the bluetooth keyboard in the bluetooth settings. Power off the keyboard by pulling the batteries and waiting 30sec. Install the batteries and turn on the keyboard (button on the right end). The iMac will have complained about the missing keyboard and attempt to locate another.
Basic question: Are there any other devices you own where you have connected that keyboard at ANY time? If so, you have to understand that other devices will fight for the keyboard, this can cause problems. To remove the keyboard from other devices, you must find those devises and tell them to "forget device". Some functions of the keyboard are specific to the device it's connected to. And if the keyboard is used for another configuration, then charters in the layout can be affected.

  • Keyboard Option during Purchase

I'm thinking of getting another iMac and want to opt for the wired USB keyboard, as opposed to the wireless keyboard. But it seems the smaller USB keyboard (without the number pad) is no longer available as an option, and buyers must choose the larger USB keyboard (with the number pad) or else opt for the wireless keyboard. Is this correct?

If you don't care for either of those options, here is another idea: your profile shows you also have an MBP - order the wireless for the option of being able to use your MBP in the closed clamshell mode with your TV - you'll be happy to have a wireless keyboard for that. And, for the iMac, simply do some shopping for a third party keyboard you like. Not sure what MacAlly is offering at the moment, but I still use one their older keyboards (and I hope it never dies!).

  • Keyboard options with Apple TV?

Is there a way to either
    A) Pair a wireless keyboard with Apple TV or
    B) Add a keyboard controller to the remote app?
I throughly enjoy the remote app and gestures but having to slide along to select letters and numbers sets me back a bit.
Apologies in advance, If this functionality does exist and I have just missed it.

Thanks, Rudegar. Once I accessed Netflix at the login prompt and while paired with remote, the keyboard function popped right up.
