Vivo or not!?

I was wondering if my MSI RX800 pro was a vivo card or not and I looked at the package and the produkt name is PRO-TD256, but if it is A vivo edition it should be PRO-VTD256 right? but on the package I have it say "vivo edition".. How do I know if it is a vivo edition or not?

  • Ti4800 VIVO Adapter

    Hi all,
Does anyone know if a vivo adapter from a Ti4800 card will work on an FX5600 VTDR card.
Why is the VIVO functionality not recognised on my card.  I have the latest drivers from MSI, but the card is seen as a straight 5600?
    Regards,
    Saltireboy

The card is a FX5600-VTDR and in desktop settings it does show as having an integrated tuner, I just thought that the full model of the card would be shown somewhere.

  • 'Video' in Volume Control?

Hey everyone.. just wondering if anyone knows what the "Video" slider in the Volume Control is for... I've had it since i first installed this board.. I have a MSI GF4-Ti440-VTD, so it does do VIVO, but not sure if that has anything to do with it..
    Any ideas?

Richard: Alright, but since the audio is part of the motherboard, and the video card has no audio features that i know of, i figured it was the audio on the mobo that was giving me this mysterious volume slider...
    Anyone else have it?

does this work with the ti4200 vivo cards? i really hope so as at the moment im stuck using the 41.07 drivers. i havent been on for a while, did they ever sort that out, last i remember you had to use 41.07 with wdm 1.27 as they were the only combination that would work without producing a code 10 error, but these drivers are very out of date now

  • Tablet Mode stuck in a loop

I just installed the Technical Preview (build 10041) on my Asus Vivo Tab Note 8, but after enabling tablet mode and resuming from sleep the computer has become unusable, it looks like it's stuck in a loop enabling, then disabling tablet mode, even after
restarting the machine it starts happening again straight after logging in.
    Here's a video showing what's going on:
    https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=2cd58d1f09ca931d!184023&authkey=!AGVt6U6kaiwNwUw&ithint=video%2cmp4
I can get the Task Manager with the keyboard shortcut, or Run box, so can open the Command Promt and so on. But it doesn't let me open the Notification Pane, or Settings, or even open the Start Menu.
Is there any way to disable tablet mode from the command prompt, or anything else I can do?

can see the process ID for explorer.exe constantly changing in task manager as well.
If it is crashing then it would be losing all state information, so you couldn't do what I suggested about stepping through it using keystrokes.  Can you confirm that it is crashing using Event Viewer or Reliability Monitor?
So perhaps a better tack would be to figure out how to disable the automatic recovery that is apparently happening.  Then you could restart explorer.exe elevated using Task Manager.  However, I'm not sure if the Settings page would still open
    then.  TBD.
Is there a Registry key I can edit I wonder?
Good idea.  I could try using ProcMon to see what changes when I switch modes.  I haven't loaded ProcMon on this VM yet so that will be a good thing to do anyway.  Even better than "editing the registry" though would be to find out
if PowerShell knows anything about this.  Of course it could substitute as our regedit.exe anyway.
Otherwise, I wonder if "Tablet mode" works any differently in Portrait orientation?   <eg>
A related test:  use Magnifier in its Fullscreen view.  Win++  Ctrl+Alt+F  and enable full tracking.  (Win+Esc exits Magnifier.)

  • FX 5900 Ultra 256mb

    Hi,
I recently bought a Geforce FX 5900 Ultra 256mb OEM and i flashed the bios to a 5950 Leadtek bios. Its working fine, but im wondering where i can get a Vivo cable? I looked on ebay and newegg no one sells it seperately or does the Vivo function not work anymore because i flashed it with the 5950 Leadtek bios?
    Thnx

    Hi-
    Welcome to Discussions!
The most powerful, current 4x AGP Mac graphics card is the ATI Radeon 9800 Mac Pro RoHS (128mb).
The 256mb version is no longer produced, but is occasionally found used, or as a flashed PC version.
The Geforce 5900 was never made in a Mac version.
There are equally, or more powerful, flashed graphics card options. The ATI 9800XT, the Geforce 6800, and the Geforce 7800 are available as, or can be converted to Mac compatible cards.
If you pursue a flashed card, do your research, and you could have very good results.

  • 5900 ultra vtd 256

    :angryfire:Hi All,
    I am so annoyed !
I've just purchased a msi fx5900 ultra vdt 256meg card for gaming and for the video suite and can't get the dam thing to work in video overlay on the tv.
I've tried just about everthing I can think of (different drivers/versions reinstalling) and more.
The strange thing is what happens when I do turn on this option, I get a white and black flickering screen on the tv and the monitor shows a very fuzzy picture in full screen mode when playing movies (What should happen is normal picture on monitor and full screen on tv)
Any Help Please As To What's Happening.
    Many thanks.
    Excalibre.

    :biggthumbsup:Hi cgrossi,
8-))Sorry didn't think my specs were important as i'm having problems with the graphics card.
    So here they are,
Gigabyte GA7NNXP Pro With all latest nvidia nforce drivers
AMD Athlon 3200+ 400mhz (Not Clocked)
Geil Duel DDR Kit 1Gig 400mhz (Running Spec)
MSI FX5900 Ultra VTD VIVO 256meg (Not Clocked) With Nvidia 61.76 Driver & WDM 2.20 Capture Driver.
If you need any more info please let me know.
Also tried all MSI, Nvidia Driver versions without success.
Ok solved the problem with the smeary picture by installing FFDSHOW filters and managed to get the card to work in overlay mode only in NSTC.
As soon as I change to PAL then I get the problem with B/W flickering screen on TV (No Picture) and monitor switching to full screen video.
Which leaves me with no control over anything, apart from Alt+F4ing out of the program then the monitor switches into standby and I'm left with no option but to reboot the system.
You might say leave it in NSTC mode if it's working correctly, but there lies another problem with TV flicker due to using a different TV standard.
Could this be a  :shocking:Bug in the Phillips TV chip ?
    So any help please !

  • Vivo wdm does not work with MSN messanger

ok so the WDM capture device works fine with intervideo wincimena Winproducer but MSN messanger refuses to see the video feed. I have a basic Cam corder plugged into the rca video in jack (not svideo).
I have searched forums and newsgroups and it seem to be a common problem with no answer other then maybe upgrading to winxp with SP1. I am currently w2k and not really willing to upgrade. I have tried many versions of the WDM driver up to the latest 2.20.
Has anyone ever got this to work anywhere.

also, have u try to install the lastest driver from http://www.nvidia.com

  • Sorry but I need a little help from yours...(vivo function on FX 5600)

Hi everybody, I've decided to post here in order to get some advices (maybe some of the moderators are not going to agree with me) from some of you (wonkanoby, Osnavi, Stu online, among others...) that I have the certainty that you could help me out here.
So here it's the message posted in the VGA MSI cards forum, but I didn't received any answers... And I'm so sorry for doing this but I don't see any other option, I really appreciate your advices, so here it's:
"Hi, I'm trying to use the VIVO function on a MSI Geforce FX 5600 but without any good result. I've installed the last WDM driver and also the lates Nvidia drivers, also the Info executable for Intel Chipset (inf, AGP), the motherboard can't asign an IRQ to the AGP (possible solution suggested by Nvidia itself to reponse to: "code 10 the device can't start"), I don't know if this mobo it's not compatible with this function or with this vid card. I'm pretty shure that I can't capture any video files without having the need of using any third part software (adobe premiere, capture solution, tv-christ, among others) and please advice me if I'm wrong, (I've tried MSI media Center deluxe without any success). The error code that the device manager shows is this(on nvidia WDM video Capture): Error code 10, the device can´t start.
    Any ideas are welcome.
    Here are the specs:
    Pentium 4 HT 2.8 mhz 800 fsb
    Intel 865gbf
    DDR sdram 512 pc 3200 x 2
MSI Geforce FX 5600 128vtd VIVO
         Driver 6.6.8.1

    Toshiba 80gb 7200rpm sata port
    Audigy Gamer
    Fax modem Conexant
    4 Fan coolers
    PSU 400 watts"

There may be an IRQ issue that the Intel crowd may be better suited to help with. You may have a device IRQ conflict, I've had this happen before and you have to look at your IRQ's for starters and look at slot population. The Creative card may be in a shared slot further complicating the issue or perhaps even the drivers are conflicting.
I suggest you tell us what slots are populated and post your IRQ's.
Go to Start>AllPrograms>Accessories>System Information~>Hardware Resources>IRQ's (Use the Edit menu to select all and copy, then post your IRQ's like this:
    IRQ 0   System timer   OK
IRQ 1   Standard 101/102-Key or Microsoft Natural PS/2 Keyboard   OK
IRQ 4   Communications Port (COM1)   OK
IRQ 5   WinFast TV2000 XP WDM Audio Capture   OK
IRQ 6   Standard floppy disk controller   OK
IRQ 8   System CMOS/real time clock   OK
IRQ 9   Microsoft ACPI-Compliant System   OK
IRQ 11   NVIDIA nForce PCI System Management   OK
IRQ 12   PS/2 Compatible Mouse   OK

  • Fx5900 Xt-vtd128 S-vhs Vivo?

    I think I want a FX5900 XT-VTD128. (I need VIVO)
BUT the description on the MSI site says:
       TV-out (S-Video connector)
       DVI Connector
       Video_in (Composite Video)
Does it have both composite and s-video inputs, or just composite only?
The VIVO dongle has both types for input as well as output,
but maybe it is a generic part and the above notice means the
s-video input does not work on this card?
    Thanks
    Steve

Thank you so much for your kind reply.
I've got a couple more questions:
    1. Does the fan block PCI slot #1?
    2. Is there a fan &/or heatsink on the back side of the card?
Tom's Hardware Guide says the "twin flow" fan on the back of the
MSI FX5900 TD128 interferes with installing in some MBs but this
    looks ike a different fan.
    Thanks, Steve

  • How to test if TV-Out (VIVO) is defective?

    Hi everybody!
How can I test if the VIVO connector (TV-Out) of my G4 ti4200-VIVO is defective?
I've read the thread "GF4 TV-OUT Guide" and I've tried everything explained there, but my TV keeps showing a blank screen.
There's no load detection (the drivers don't detect a TV connected). I've put my monitor in the DVI connection also, but nothing seems to work.
I've also tested to boot up my computer with ONLY the TV-out plugged. Nothing appears in the screen. I've tested the TV connection with another device and it works fine.
I'm starting to think that something in the card is broken....
Should the boot up process appear in the TV when only it is connected?
    Many thanks in advance!!!
    brutrak

    Hi,
If you only have a TV connected, you should get the boot process appearing on the TV. It might not be readable, as it tends to default to NTSC on start-up, and older PAL TVs might not cope very well, but you should at least get something.
A rare (but not unknown) problem could be that the DC input impedance of the TV set is too high. TV sets (and other video gear - e.g. VCRs) should have a DC impedance (resistance) of about 75 ohms. The "TV-detect" circuitry on most TV-outs does a fairly crude resistance measurement, and if it "measures" a resistance below a threshold value (usually somewhere in the 100 to 200 ohm range), it thinks it has a TV connected. So, if you can get hold of a resistance meter (or multimeter), and can measure the resistance between the inner pin of the lead you plug into the TV (with the lead plugged into the TV but not the VIVO, but measured at the VIVO end), you should get a reading of around 75 ohms.
Naturally, you have to connect the TV to the Video OUT, not the IN to get a picture out
    Cheers

  • MSI NX6600-VTD256EH VIVO problems

i have this problem with my MSI NX6600-VTD256EH VIVO card. I can't get it to capture. Do i need some different drivers etc? I have tried searching for some advice for it but just can't find none.

It seems you missed part of what was written above your post.  Quote from: Stu on 23-March-06, 03:04:44
what capture software are you using?
do you have the correct WDM capture driver installed? look in the 'Windows drivers we recommend' sticky for links
whats the exact problem you're having with capturing?
Do you have the WDM capture driver installed? Exo has posted a link where you can find them.

I'm not sure where your statement "Be polite and not sturdy" comes from though.  Maybe it's the manner in which you read my post.

  • 6600GT AGP, Whats VIVO?

I am planning to get the AGP MSI 6600GT and it comes with VIVO. What is VIVO? its it like a tv tuner? but built in? Ive seen all over forums people talking about recording tv with this VIVO feature....how exactly does this vivo work to record tv? and what will i have to purchase seperately in order to record televison? (like a tv tuner card??)
    THnks

Video In Video Out. It's used to record video (from a camera, or VCR) and replay it. But it's not TV: for that you'd need a tuner card, too. Oddly enough, most tuner cards also allow you to record from a camera or VCR, and replay the video. So if you want TV, you can save some money by getting a graphics card without VIVO.

  • Lumia Black Update for 1020 64G Vivo Brazil

    Hello,
I want to know if there is any information about when the Lumia Black will be available for the Lumia 1020 64G from Operator VIVO in Brazil.
The list available at Nokia web site doesn't show any information about this variant.

Nokia already started rolling out the update in Brazil. All models that VIVO works with are in the list, except the Lumia 1020, that they have the exclusivity of the 64G version.
The phone is not blocked, so I was expecting that it would be the country variant that already received the update, but it not look like that.

  • [GeForce PCe] MSI GeForce NX7800GTX VIVO questions

Hey all!  I currently own a MSI 6600GT (128MB version) PCIe graphics card, and I was considering purchasing the 7800GTX sometime within the next six months to get the most out of my games.
I've seen that the 7800GTX has VIVO capabilities, and I've searched MSI's site as well as other sites trying to get more details, but I haven't been able to find any.  I also use my computer to run a small digital video editing business, and I've got an upcoming project to convert many VHS tapes to DVD.  I've used my Pinnacle MovieBox DV (connected via firewire) to do this in the past, but since it's not very reliable I was thinking using VIVO of the 7800GTX might work better.  From what I understand, I could hook up a VCR to either the composite video in or S-video in to convert the VHS to digital video.
So if anyone out there has used the video-in VIVO features, could you give me some details as to how it works?  Does the card include MSI software to capture video via VIVO?  Can I capture video as an uncompressed AVI or a DV AVI?  Would it be possible to capture video-in directly from Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5?
If anyone can help me out, I'd surely appreciate it.  If these things are possible, I'll prolly go on ahead and buy the NX7800GTX.  My Pinnacle MovieBox is supposedly "prosumer", but it really blows.  It locks up all the time, and then I have to start it over.  With all the VHS tapes I'll be converting, I don't have time for that!
    -Josh

The latter information about cards having different chips is unrelated to your problems. I have a sticky addressing the Pipline/Chip issue.
You can posts links, there is no restriction currently that I am aware of at this time. However, there have been discussions relating to new users and imposing a restriction until a post count has been reached.
As for your problem, provided your BIOS settings are correct, and you are using the latest nVidia Drivers this isn't something I've seen yet. If you could post some screenshots, that also might be helpful.
Please, also enter your profile settings, and put your hardware listing as a signature in the event this thread becomes lengthy, users wont have to go to the top or previous page to see your hardware.
Have you tried swapping the cards to see if the behavior changes? And to possibly expose a problem with one particular card?
Have you looked or posted in the nVidia forums?
Hopefuly someone will come along that's seen this or is aware of this. Perhaps it's just a driver setting somewhere. As you can see, without me actually seeing it, I'm guessing.
