Vizio 32 inch tv

anybody know if best buy can fix something like this? I've checked everything I can think of.
here are the symptoms
tv would turn off on its own until recently, now it won't turn on at all
I tried using the remote instead of the button to no avail
also tried switching out power cables (power cable is non-proprietary) again, to no avail.
leads me to believe that the power supply on this particular tv is bad.
further than that, I don't know
I did some research on the topic, vizios usually require board level work to fix power supply issues
any feedback at all would be awesome, a price quote would be nothing short of godly
thank you and have a nice day

There's no way for you to get an estimate without having someone come out to diagnose it. Is it still under mfg. warranty? If so, unfortunately, since BB does not carry anything made by Vizio, and thus has no vendor or service agreements with them, I am 99% sure that BB won't be able to do anything. I would contact Vizio directly if it is still under mfg. warranty.
However, if there is no warranty, then by all means, call your local BB to set up a diagnosis appointment.

  • Using a Mac Pro with a 52 inch Vizio LCD

Hello all. I have hooked up my Mac Pro to my Vizio (52 inch LCD). DVI to RGB (using a converter). My Vizio says it has no signal. I called Vizio they said to call apple. I have not called apple yet on this was wondering if anyone else out there has hooked a Mac Pro to a Vizio with success and if so how they did it. I have the NVIDIA GEForce 7300 card.
Thanks in advance for the help.

Hey Tom, Thanks for taking the time to respond. I was losing my mind on this one! Hopefully this will be resolved soon.

  • Mini dvi to HDMI with Vizio VW37L does not work

I just purchased a mini dvi to HDMI connector and tried to use my 37 inch Vizio VW37L as a display. It didn't work. Then I read some reviews that MacBook doesn't have a preset resolution that would work with Vizio, nor does MacBook have a way to make a custom resolution.
I was saw some advice to download a program called SwitchResX and I did. This program caused my screen to go gray and I could not find a solution so I had to restore my MacBook.
I want to use my TV as a display via HDMI. How can I do this? FYI I will not put SwitchResX back on my Macbook. It took forever to restore last night being that it is two years old and all the security updates that I don't have on boot disk right now take forever to download and install.
Advice please. Also, would dvi to VGA be that bad? I guess I'm just spoiled with digital video that I didn't even think about trying analog.

    Hi there,
I may be able to offer some input as I was successful in connecting my macbook to my HD Samsung Plasma TODAY. I bought the Apple mini-dvi to DVI adapter and the Dynex DVI-D to HDMI Cable. I'm not sure which macbook you have, but you'll have to determine if you'll need the Apple Mini-DVI to DVI adapter or the Apple mini display port connection. So if you have a mini display port, substitute what I have below w/mini display port.
    1) Put the apple mini-dvi to DVI adapter in the port on your macbook.
    2) Attach the Dynex DVI-D to HDMI to the apple mini DVI to DVI adapter.
    3) Attach the opposing end of the Dynex DVI-D to HDMI cord to the TV. On my set it is the HDMI1 (DV1) slot.
    4) Check your TV manual to see what the display settings need to be on the computer. In my case it was 640x480.
    Hope this helps.

  • Connecting Macbook to Vizio?

For Christmas I got a Vizio 19 in LCD LED HDTV. I was wonder what all I needed to connect my Macbook up to it in order to watch movies on my TV through my macbook? I've seen many other questions on this topic but they all seem to lead to different products so can anyone tell me exactly what I need?
I have the 13 inch aluminum 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Macbook.

    Hi,
I'm presuming this the the TV unit you have
    http://www.target.com/VIZIO-Class-720p-60Hz-HDTV/dp/B002T9084S
According the specs it has HDMI and PC input but no separate audio input
Vision is no problem using either the HDMI or PC inputs but if you want the audio to go across too, then you will have to use the HDMI connection (HDMI inputs are vision and audio combined in the same cable).
The Mini DisplayPort (vision) on your model Mac does not carry the audio through that port, so you will need to use the Headphone outlet for the audio signal.
Also, the headphone outlet on that Mac also doubles as a digital output for surround sound so you can get 5.1 audio out of that port too with the correct cable.
So you need to find a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adaptor with audio so you can plug both the outputs of the mac from the Mini DisplayPort and Headphone and then convert them to a HDMI signal.
This is from a site in Australia, but I'm sure you could source one where ever you in world you are.
    http://www.macfixit.com.au/shop/index.php?_a=viewProd&productId=1101
This uses the Digital Audio output from the headphone outlet of the Mac and the Mini DisplayPort for the vision and converts it all to a HDMI output for your TV.
    Hope this helps

  • Can I connect my my macbook pro to a Vizio 32" LED HDTV?

I have a 15-inch Mid-2009 Macbook Pro that I currently have connected to an external monitor, using a mini displayport to DVI. I would like to now connect my computer to Vizio E320-AO 32" Class LED HDTV (720p;60Hz). I will be purchasing a dvi-hdmi adapter and connecting it to the TV. To anybody familiar with connecting their macbooks to a HDTV, have you had any issues and do you even recommend this? Should I purchase a mini displayport to HDMI?
    My Specs:
    Year: Mid 2009
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT 256 MB

There is no reason you cannot do that.  But be apprised that the HDMI cable will only transmit video in a 2009 MBP For audio, you will have to tap the audio output port.

  • Macbook Pro 15 Inch, broken screen to external monitor

I have a 15 inch macbook pro that was stepped on and the screen was broken. I took it to genius and they said it was toast. Great help guys. I took it home and plugged it in from the mini display to HDMI and my desktop appeared on the television screen. Simple as that.  Keep in mind this is a 42 inch panasonic TV. But when I plugged it into my vizio television that is in my personal room the desktop was to the left, (regularly you have to drag whatever you want to the right. It's a double screen) and what was appearing on the TV was just a blank desktop which is no help at all.
I need to see my desktop on my vizio television.
So i was reading about the mirror image option under >display >system preferences and I turned that on when I was doing work on the panasonic and now I can't access anything, from either television.
    So I need to either
    A. find a way to reset system preferences on my Macbook Pro 15 inch with no access to the desktop so I can get it working on at least the Panasonic television again.
    Or
    B. Find a way to get in up on the Vizio. (prefered.)
    Any suggestions.
    Thanks so much.

Its a keyboard shortcut to mirror or un mirror screen. Then you can use your mouse and what not. My macbook air fell about 1.5 feet to carpet and thanks to the thin design of the metal parts turned the dam n screen into a knife and sliced the wires for the screen, wifi, Bluetooth, and camera... Well one wire was still attached, the one that powered the screen. So all i had was a white screen. I know its accidental damage and all but to have it fall and break a week after my warranty ran out ***?!?! Apple must employ ninjas!

  • MacBook Pro and Vizio HDMI problem

I have a 2010 Macbook Pro, a new Moshi Mini DVI to HDMI converter, HDMI cable, and a Vizio VW32L (32 inch HD TV). The MacBook detects the TV, but the TV only shows "Retrieving Data..." for a few seconds and then goes to blue with "No Signal!" showing.
Is there anything I can do? Is there something I don't know that would prevent this from working? Are there any settings on the TV or MacBook I can fiddle with to make this work?

No MacBook Pro uses mini-DVI. It uses mini-DisplayPort if it is newer than a certain generation, otherwise it uses DVI-D. Are you sure you got the right cable description?
What does your Apple menu -> About This Mac -> More info
say about your MacBook Pro x,x model.
MacBooks without the Pro name have used mini-DVI prior to a certain age, and after a certain time started using mini-Displayport. Knowing your exact model will tell us what connector you should be using.
If you are using a Pro and definitely a mini-DVI, I'm surprised your MacBook Pro sends any signal let alone doesn't get damaged in its port.

  • 22 - 26 inch tv

    Hello
I'm in the market for a 22 - 26 inch LCD HDTV but i'm having trouble deciding on one.  I've seen some good tvs for a decent price but it seems alot of them have issues just a year or so down the road.
I will be gaming(PS3) and watching movies on this T.V. as well.  So if anyone has any suggestions and/or has experience with any 22 - 26 inch T.V.s i'd appreciate your opinions.

Yeah I don't want to spend that much on just a 26 inch T.V.
500+ for just a 26 inch is way too much.  I've seen sets that are $100-$200 cheaper with good quality.  I have a friend with a 26 inch vizio and it looks pretty good.  The only problem is she hasn't had it for long so I wouldn't know how reliable the T.V. is down the road.
I was however looking at a 22 inch samsung for $299.99.  Someone I know has had that T.V. for over a year with no problems at all.  Problem is though it looks like it's pretty oudated and isn't being sold much anymore.  It's the Samsung LN22A330.  I was hoping to buy it for somewhere online because the retail price for this T.V. was about 429 just for a 22 inch.

  • Vizio 26" LCD - Is this a bad choice?

I am pretty used to working on my 3 year old MacBook Pro 17" laptop and recently bought a MacPro (2008) I've been looking at different monitors and originally didn't like the "glossy" display coating that the new laptops had... BUT for my MacPro I'm in a dark room with no windows so I've changed my mind. I do professional graphics and photography but just can't afford a 30" Apple Display...
I recently bought the Vizio 26" LCD at this link for $350 to "try it out"
    http://tinyurl.com/n9p2qx
I was surprised that I kind of like the size and quality of the image...
SO... I really don't understand all of the TN TFT jargon. Is this a bad monitor for any reason and I just don't know it because I'm used to working on my "dull and small" laptop monitor.
    1. WHAT ARE the BEST bang for the buck monitors above 24" that I should consider and why?
    2. WHAT is the "technical term" for the difference that I see when I look at this Vizio monitor vs it's duller LCD counterparts?
    Thanks!

If you are doing pro graphics then I assume you make a living doing this and also have your work printed professionally - ie, on a Heidelberg or other offset printers. If so, you will see how the Vizio is useless for this work.
I deal with many top class printers and if you visit their production department like I do, you see many 23-24 inch Apple displays (not the new LED backlits). These displays can be calibrated with 3rd party hardware-software color calibrators (I use a Kodak method because my main printers uses this). I produce magazines from start to finish and I soft-proof the pages on my 23 inch Apple display - it is perfect. What I see on my display (the digital proof from my printer) matches what will be printed and most important, matches the display at my printer. We are on the same page so to speak.
You may also see other expensive displays - Barco monitors for example, used for graphics work.
These are all calibrated. Simple calibration starts with Apple's Colorsync set up.
Apple's 30 inch display cannot be calibrated by our Kodak system - it is not in their tables or list of approved displays - thats why we are using 23 inch displays.
Also why are you in a dark room? This is not good for graphic work. A dull room fine - no harsh lighting and no flourescents, no spots, etc.
This still applies if your work is only with websites, because these are usually seen on computersa nd still need to be within the correct gamut and Luts. I would read up on Colorsynch and color gamut for the particluar work you do.
Now if you are working only in video or entertainment that is different.

  • Vizio 24 1080 TV connection

Just got a Vizio 24 1080 TV with HDMI and VGA inputs. I used the mini to VGA connection and I don't like the way the fonts show on the screeen (Kind of blurry) definately not HD looking. Does the mini to HDMI intput work better with LCD TV's? Or is there some setting I should do to make the fonts look cleaner?

What computer do you have? The MacBook like it says in your signature?
the only model that outputs to 1080 is the 17 inch MBP.
Your MacBook will not display full-screen on the 16x9 screen without stretch. That is why it looks blurry.

  • VIZIO P602UI-B3 - Order Status

I went to my local best buy store on this past weekend to buy a vizio 60 inch p series TV. The rep at the TV department told me they only had the 65 inch model in stock. Instead of purchasing the model they had in stock, I instead placed an order in store to have the 60 inch model shipped there. Today I checked my email to get a status update on my order but when I search using the order number nothing comes back. The order does not show up in my purchase history but shows in the my best buy as reward points pending. Also, I noticed that the money has been taken out of my account for the purchase. On top of it, I noticed that the TV is no longer available on the best buy website.
    I am so confused!
Has anyone had issues ordering the new vizio p series TV's or had a similar issue happen to them?

    Hello deminan,
Welcome to the forum, and thank you for choosing Best Buy to purchase your new TV! Buying a 60" TV is no small investment, and I would be very concerned if I couldn't locate the order in my purchase history. I would be happy to help you sort this out.
Using the e-mail you registered on the forum, I was able to locate the order, and the TV is currently backordered with an estimated arrival date of 11/15. I suggest you continue to check with the store, or call 1-888-BESTBUY for updates as this is an in-store order, not a BestBuy.com order; therefore, you will not be able to view the status online. I apologize for any confusion, and concern this may have caused.
Thank you for posting here on the forum, and please do not hesitate to let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.

  • How do you change the font size on a Mac mini so you can read stuff on a 55 inch tv

I have my Mac mini hooked up to my 55 inch vizio but when I'm sitting on my bed it's hard to read the tool bar in safari

Hello, I think you're out of luck with the toolbar, but not on 10.9 to check right now, you can change the minimum font size used in Safari Prefereces for web pages.
Perhaps Zoom will work for you...

  • Getting sound from Mac to Vizio TV

I use a 2008 Macbook Pro with a 17 inch monitor and using OS X 10.5.8. I am connecting it to my Vizio 47" with a DVI to HDMI cable. The connection works fine. That is, the dispaly works just fine.
I'm having a sound problem. I have connected my computer to the TV with a jack from the headphone jack on the computer to to the audio jack on the back of the TV. No sound. The cable works with external speakers (again from my computer to the external speakers).
On system preferences I have gone to Mac Help for "Changing your computer's sound device output. Among other things, the help box says, "To listen though your display's built-in speakers, select Display Audio." Of course, my TV has built-in speakers, so I'm wondering if I need to make a selection like that. If so, that's problematic because my System Preference give me only one output option: "Headphones" bulit-in output.
Any suggestions on how to get sound from my computer through the built-in speakers on my Vizio TV?
    Thanks in advance.

First of all, in your version of the MacBook Pro, sound is not transmitted through the HDMI connection to your TV.  So, you're right, you have to go through a jack from your mini-stereo plug to your TV's speakers (or an amplifier, or external speakers).  There is nothing to do about that.
The sounds output should be through "Headphones", because the Mac can't tell what's plugged in there.  The sound won't go through the "Display Audio."

  • Mini Displayport/HDMI cable & Audio Y cable to Vizio. No sound!

    13-inch MacBook Pro, mid-2009
    Vizio E320i-A0
I connected a mini displayport/HDMI cable and a audio Y cable (Dynex 3.5mm RCA) from my MacBook Pro to my Vizio TV and I can't get any sound through the TV; however, I do get a picture.  Called Vizio and, of course, they say there are no audio settings that need to be changed on the TV.  Reviewed other discussions about this topic and tried changing the Audio MIDI Setup, but I don't get the same options. Do I have the wrong cables?

    alex94598 wrote:
I have a new retina mac with an hdmi port but I had the same problem with no audio.
I fixed it by going into system prefs -> sound -> output and selecting the TV as the output
Make sure your TV is connected when doing this
TV is not one of the options when I follow those directions.  My only option is "Internal Speakers" and my Airport Express.  I think those directions work for you because you have a later model Mac... but thank you for your help. :-)
