Vizualizer doesn't react to music. (Windows XP)

In both iTunes 7 and 8, none of the visualizers react to the music. This includes the "classic" visualizer, the new visualizer, and the bars in the information pane. They all display a flat wave, no bars, etc. Music plays just fine otherwise.
Anyone have any ideas?

When you have a Canon inkjet printer connected to the USB port of a Windows computer and shared, you cannot use the Canon provided driver on the Mac. For these types of network connections you need to use either a Gutenprint driver or PrintFab.
Gutenprint is preferred because it is free and a copy is included with Mac OS X 10.6. However the MP490 is a new model and it is not listed as a supported model with the Gutenprint driver suite. So you can experiment with using a different Canon - Gutenprint model. Some users have reported that the 'Canon PIXMA MP160 - Gutenprint v5.2.x' has worked for their non-supported Canon printer.
If you have no luck with finding a Gutenprint driver that works correctly with the MP490 you could look at using [PrintFab|http://www.printfab.net]. This software costs €49 but its cheaper than an Airport Express, which is about the only other option you have with a mixed network. Note that there is a 30 day trial available so at least you can test it and the MP490 is listed as a supported model.

Mouse and Keyboard doesn't reacts on Windows

Hi,
I have installed Windows on my iMac, but now i have the problem, that when i boot using Windows, my mouse and my keyboard doesn't react...
I have tried it with my wireless Apple Keyboard, my wired Apple keyboard, my Logitech Mouse and with my Apple Magic Mouse. But if I move the mouse, the cursor on the screen doesn't moves.
I have installed all drivers from the WININSTALL-Drive, created while installing windows and I also downloaded the drivers from the Apple Homepage.
If I start Windows in safe mode, the mouse and the keyboard reacts!
Do you have any ideas, how I can fix this problem?

Well first try booting from your restore disk or a retail installer. If you still have a problem there try resetting PRAM and NVRAM:

esp the part about open firmware.
If none of that works you might have a capacitor problem even tho' you're not on the list. I had 2 eMacs that were in the shop with similar problems and both were repaired on recall.

I can't connect my iPod classic to iTunes, it just doesn't react when I put the USB into the PC

hey, I have an iPod classic and it can't connect to iTunes.
I put the USB into my computer trying to add music, but it doesn't seems to react.
It DOESN'T say that it can't recognize the Ipod..
- Itunes just simpely doesn't react when I put the USB-cabel into my computer.
- when i go to the task manager the "apple device mobile" and "ipod service" is acitve in the processes
- I've tried to restart my computer (windows XP)
- update iTunes
- reinstall iTunes
- restart my apple devices mobile manager
what I think is the problem (which I can't solve) is that iTunes doen't even react to the USB
plz hlp me!
- ps it really should be able to add music to my iPod without getting help from a expert.

It would seem that iTunes has encountered or developed an issue in the process of trying to sync photos to your device. The best place to start would be removing the iPod Photo Cache (thus allowing for a new version to be created).
Note: Deleting this folder will not remove the original images from your library.

Ipod Mini Doesn't react to anything

My Ipod Mini justed stopped working yesterday. I have tried to charge it, connect it to my computer (no reaction), tried to reset it (Doesn't react). I installed the update 1.4 recently, but it worked afterwards the installation. What might be the problem?

I have the exact same problem with my ipod mini. this morning i listened to music...then like 45 mins after i turned it off it wouldn't turn back on..it won't respond to n e one's pc...including mine..i had it charged all night..and all that toggling of the buttons stuff..no good.. it won't work man... heeelllpppp meee

Capture now doesn't react

I'm using an oldfashioned SONY HVR-A1E recording on tapes and I've used Final Cut Express with Capture / Now for some time and it worked fine. I always had problems using Log and Transfer, it just couldn't find my camera (there was nothing in the preview window). I can't locate my camera anywhere on my mac. I'm connecting my camera via a firewire to an external harddisk, which is connected to my Mac - it worked with Capture / Now before, but could that be the problem?
For some reason the NOW button just doesn't react when I open Capture. I can't seem to recall doing anything differently. It would be nice if I could get the log and transfer to work by locating my camera - but at the very least just get the NOW button in the capture window to again - hope anyone can help ;o)

My camera is set for DVsp and it says DVin iLINK on the display of the camera - when I plug the firewire cable.
I've set the Easy Setup in FCE at (format) PAL and (use) DV-pal (I'm in Europe, but I'm using my material for web, so if other formats work better it could be different). I've tried different options within all formats and HDV doesn't respond at all so I guess DV is the right format for the recording on my camera.
I can se and hear my recordings in the capture preview window but the NOW button just doesn't respond. When I try to set the timecodes to capture a minute - (for instance from 00:38:42:00 to 00:39:42:00) the in- and out timecodes just align to the end point (from 00:39:42:00 to 00:39:42:00) using the button CLIP it doesn't capture anything.
Very frustrating. Now I'm just capturing my footage via iMovie and importing it to FCE, but I wish this could be solved.

I want to open a file and play back by clicking play icon, but Audition doesn't react.

FF doesn't open a new window , and doesn't open at all when I close it and try to open it again.

Initially when I start my PC Windows 7 Ultimate , FF opens fine , but it doesn't open a new window when I click on the option "Open a new Window " in the taskbar .When I right-click a tab and select the option "Move to a new Window" then too it doesn't work. Gnome-shell issue. You can disable desktop management as a temporary fix, but the next gnome-shell update will fix the problem.

My iTunes doesn't have all the music that my iPod has. But when i sync my iPod it doesn' t put my music back onto my computer, how do i fix this?

So, I looked at my iTunes library and realized that i had a rather small amount of music on it, while i have a rather large amount of music on my iPod. I don't know where all my music went on my computer, and I have no clue how it isn't there. When I sync my iPod it doesn't transfer my music back or even give me the, "We found some music on your iPod that is no longer in your library, would you like to transfer these songs?"
I don't really know what to do, andy advice?

Never mind, the problem just fixed itself when i searched for an artist that wasn't there. That was odd.

To get your CD or DVD drive working correctly, try these suggestions in the order listed.
Reinstall the Driver
Hold the Windows key and press the 'x' key to open a menu in the lower-left. In this menu, select "Device Manager." Expand "DVD/CD-ROM drives." Right-click the entry for the CD/DVD drive nested under "DVD/CD-ROM drives," then select "Uninstall." Finally, restart the computer. The computer will reinstall the drivers for the drive.
Power Cycle
Even when your laptop is off and unplugged, residual power can still be held in some components. While this is normal, clearing it can help with some hardware problems. Perform these steps to complete what’s called a power cycle.
Ensure the laptop is turned off.
Unplug the laptop's AC power cable.
Unplug all wires and peripherals. This includes CDs, DVDs, USB sticks, mice, printers, and any other accessories.
Remove the battery (if the model has a removable battery). If the model does not have a removable battery, check your user's guide to determine if you have a pinhole reset on the bottom. If you do, press this.
Hold down the power button for thirty seconds.
Reattach the battery if removed.
Connect the AC adaptor to the power socket that was confirmed to be working in the first step.

System Restore
Try using System Restore to restore to the most restore point from before the problem arose.

System Recovery
If the System Restore doesn't solve the issue, you could try a System Reset. Resetting your laptop to its original, out-of-the-box state is a great way to eliminate software as a possible cause of the problem. These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
Note if you have iOS devices and haven't moved your contacts and calendar items across then you should create one dummy entry of each in your new profile and iTunes should merge the existing data from the device.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library or a backup then then seeRecover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data.

Nautilus doesn't open a new window when clicked

For a while now, I have been experiencing an annoying issue.
Whenever I open Nautilus either by clicking the icon in the drawer (example: http://i.imgur.com/uZc3n7S.png) or by hitting "Super" (the Windows key) and typing nautilus+enter, Nautilus doesn't create a new window anymore. Instead, it just shows "Files" in the top bar, as seen here: http://i.imgur.com/Ho2nJhv.png
I can open a Nautilus window by clicking on the "Files" item in the top bar and clicking "New Window", as seen here: http://i.imgur.com/7IrWqvr.png
Also, whenever my desktop is focused, the "Files" item is visible in the top bar. In the drawer, the Nautilus icon is always highlighted as well. This leads me to believe that GNOME thinks Nautilus is already open, while it is not.
Note that I have enabled my desktop to be managed by Nautilus, so I can have icons on my desktop. I'm not sure, but if I recall correctly, this problem started ever since the one time I ran gnome-settings-daemon manually, to test if a certain bug still exists.
Has anyone experienced a similar issue? How could I track down why this is happening?

The procedure is Settings>Messages>Send & Receive at>You can be reached by iMessages at>Add another email address. The email address has to be a valid working email address, obviously. Apple should verify the email address and you have to go to the inbox of that email account, read the verification email from Apple and follow the inductions in the email in order to complete the verification. Then you go back to the settings, uncheck your email address and check the new email address to be used as the contact email address.
