VK11 AND VK31

Can Any one elaborate me difference between VK11 and VK31

Difference between VK11 and VK31 - if you go through the menu path you will get the vk 31 as condition record from the tamplets whereas vk11 as simple condition record. In VK11 you can store condition record for more than one condition
type. This means you can have same condition record for different condition types. This feature is given to enhance the system's performane and not to create the duplcation of the work for each condition type.
Again system is not allowing to store the record in the vk31 for the condition type pr00 and access sequence pr02.This is because if you see this ac seq cointains two accessses 20 and 30 having the same table no.But you see there is the difference between the technical view of it for transfering the data from document field and condition field,so you can not maintain the data at VK31.

VK11:Maintain the Condition records individually.
VK31:Maintain the condition records groups and its useful to mass change of condition records.

What is the difference between VK11 and VK31?
Thanks in Advance.

Hi,
They are the same really. VK31 came with a later SAP release and some
people say it is easier to use than VK11. In the end they are both used
for condition records.
Actually,the difference between VK11 and VK31 is that VK31,
VK32 ONLY work for standard SAP delivered Condition Types (ex.
PR00). If you create any customer specific Condition Type codes
(ex. ZXXX)you can only create / maintain Condition Records for
them using VK11, VK12.
In VK11 you can store condition record for more than one condition
type. This means you can have same condition record for different condition types. This feature is given to enhance the system’s performance and not to create the duplication of the work for each condition type.
BOTH transactions allow mass entry and changes.

Hi

VK11 is to maintain a single condition record and VK 31 is to maintain a group of condition records according to the situations. In VK11 u can update for particuler condition record.
where as in VK31 u can do the Mass changes.
The bottom line difference between VK11 and VK31 is that VK31, VK32 ONLY work for standard SAP delivered Condition Types (ex. PR00). If you create any customer specific Condition Type codes (ex. ZXXX)you can only create / maintain Condition Records for them using VK11, VK12.

• Can any one tell me the difference between VK11 and MR21

Hi Folks,
I have changed price of a material using VK12.
When I go to the transaction MR21, it is still showing the old price.
Can any one help what is the difference between VK11 and MR21.
And i which scenarios these two were used?
Thanks in Advance
Gopi Krishna

Hii,
VK11: This is price master record to determine the sale price or discounts or freight or taxes which we going to charge to the final customer. Through this transaction we will determine the price automatically either in sales or billing document. These transaction is only applicable for sales & distribution module for determining the pricing for customers.
The price determined through this we use in revenue realisation.
MR21: Through this trnsaction Finance or Cost users upload the cost of the material. The cost is
Standard Cost or Moving average cost.
Cost= Raw Material CostProcessing Cost(product process cost )Overheads(employee salaries)
This cost is maintained at each material master in accounting view either standard cost or moving average cost.
These cost is determined for every material movement within the company.
Example: Production, transfer posting, goods issue- system post the quantity and at the same time system create an inventory entry i.e accounting entry for the transaction. In this accounting entries, system consider the values from material master for generating accounting entry.
If you upload production for 10 MT of material A and in material master if kept the cost of the material as 1000 then the accounting entry in production time as
Finish Goods Dr 10000
To Cost of Production Cr 10000
These cost also determined sales transaction through VPRS condition type.

• Difference between VK11 and VK15?

Hi
What is the difference between VK11 and VK15?Bith are used to maintain condition records.
Thanks

Hi,
VK15 gives you the relaton between the Condituion type and table. You can create records for specific condition type belonging to specific condition table.
Whereas in the other case VK11, you can generically create the record for the condition type.

• Regarding VK11and VK31 T.codes

Hi Guru's,
can u pls explain me the difference between VK11 and VK31.
Thanks & Regards
Ramesh chandra

Hi,
VK11 is for condition record maintainence by condition type whereas VK31 is for mass maintenance of condition types.
In VK11 we can create condition records for ALL the condition types (even including customised condition types) with application as V (SD).
In VK31 we can create ONLY the SAP Standard condition record where in can access discounts, prices, taxes and freights.

• Scale in pricing

Hi friends,
Where we can define scale in pricing (in vk31 or vk11)
Thanks
Raj

Hi Raj,
you can maintain the scales in both VK11 and VK31. They both look similar but the main difference is:
VK11 is to maintain a single condition record and VK 31 is to maintain a group of condition records according to the situations.
In other words vk31 can be used for mass Maintenance of condition record
As far as I know, the main difference is in VK31 you can only use the SAP standard condition types (eg. PR00) if you have your company specific condition type (eg. ZX00) it will not work in VK31. for Z condition types you can do it in VK11.

Sats.

• Common S.O, D.Ch

Hai all,
1. In what scenarios we will maintain the commmon Sales organisations, common distribution channels?
2. What is the difference between VK11 and VK31.
Regards,
Keyur.

Hi Keyur P,
in SAP we have only
Common distribution channel -VOR1
Common Divison,-VOR2 dont have common sales organizations.
purpose: in our previous proj, we had 10 DC's which shares the same data.
we have several customers ,it will take more time to create customers in all DC's.
eg: 100 customers, 1 sales org - 10 dc's -1 div ,total sales areas- 10 ,
now we need to create customers in all sales areas nothing but, 100*10= 1000,
which occupies more data, time consuming and risky,
rite,
to minimize risk, save the space n time.
we make one DC as a ref DC and assign all the DC's to ref DC.
so whenever v create transaction using new DC's, ref DC data will share to rest of DC's.
DC-------Ref DC
00----
00
01----
00
02----
00
10----
---00,
this data will be shared between master data's like Customer master data, material master data & Condition master data.
similarly , for Divison also
2-- Both are for maintaining condition records only
but in VK11 , u can maitain records for both condition types ,standard and customizing- ZP00
where as in Vk31, only for standard u can create condition recors- PR00
*Hope this Clears, reward points

• Vk19 and vk11 difference

Gurus , Please tell me the difference between vk11 and vk19 transactions?

Hi,
In VK11, as said u can maintain price for SD materials. Say you have maintained price for material A. Now if you want to maintain price for Material B, in VK11, you have to create on more condition record (and you cannot find the price of previous material maintained, in our example Material A)
But in VK19, you can see the price that is maintained for material A, as well as you can maintain price for the new material B.(Now when i have said adding new line item it means adding more materials to the existing record).
Hope it clarifies your query

• Key fields and non-key field of condition table

Hello Gurus,
what is key fields and non-key field of condition table?
thanks very much!

Key field
Each condition table contains keys that can be used for creating dependent condition records.
for example let take condition type PR00.
PR00 uses access sequence PR02 .
Access sequence PR02 has following tables associated with it namely 304, 305 & 306
When you create a conditon record for PR00 with transaction VK11 or VK31, you have a button 'key combination' which is nothing but fields associated with tables 304, 305 & 306.
In brief, Condition records are always created using specific keys. Condition tables are used to define the structure of the keys of a condition record.
Non key field
For example take condition table 144 - sales deal basic data.
Table 144 is associated with access sequence PBUD.
If you check the fields associated with this table (click technical view button), there are three fields at bottom which do not have 'key' check mark -KDATU, PLTYP, KSTAF
So, when you create a condition record for PBUD, system does not propose these 3 fields in 'key combination' and hence are non key fields.
Please reward points for good answers as this would help increase the total donation that SAP will make to the United Nations World Food Programme.

• Freight costs in Pricing procedure and Shipment costs

What is the difference between freight costs in pricing procedure for a sales document and shipment costs in shipment documents. Arent they meant for the same thing. Why do we have to create them separately.

hello, friend.
freight charges in the sales pricing procedure may be represented by condition type KF00 (standard). this condition type is a surcharge to your customer, meaning there is an inflow into your company. this surcharge may be manually entered (if configuration allows this) in the condition tabs of your sales order or this could automatically be entered if the appropriate condition records (via VK11 or VK31) have been created.
the shipment costs in shipment documents is what your company is billed or quoted by your forwarder, shipper or other transport related agent. the shipment cost data will be used by the system to calculate and settle shipment costs. when you have freight condition records (via TK11), purchase-vendor records and if all route/connection point/etc. settings correct, all shipment cost data will be determined when you do shipment cost document creation. you may also manually enter cost items, depending on the configuration.
hope this helped. is so, will appreciate reward.
regards.

• Pricing Conditions and how the pricing date is determined

Hi all,
Small question, i ahve some pricing conditions that use the Serives Rendered date and others that use the Pricing Date from an order, how is the condition decided on what date it uses?
Hope i have expplained this ok, if not and you need more info let me know.
Regards
Steve

Hi
There is a difference between Service Rendered Data and Pricing Date.
Normally Freight Conditions are maintained on Service Rendered Date so the freight will be picked on the basis of date on which the Actual Delivery done, whereas Pricing date is used for other conditions so that price will be based on the date on which the document created and the Pricing Date maintained in that.
In the same way there is a Billing Date which came in Invoice so price will be based on the date of Invoicing.
If you maintain the record in VK11 and test a cycle you will be able to find the difference easily.
Regards
Amitesh
