VLAN : Cannot transfer files switch 3500XL

Hello,
i have configured VLAN's on my switch(802.1q ) with a linux machine as a router.and i cannot transfer files through SCP or FTP from nodes.It pings but is not able to transfer files.can u please expain ? the network cards on my linux machine are intel pro 100

If you can ping through the linux router from one VLAN to another then this would suggest that routing is working correctly.
I would check whether the Linux machine is using IP chains or similar which i believe is software that provides a firewall function and could potentially be blocking various ports.
How many VLANs are you routing between, the reason i ask is that you mentioned 802.1q which is used for trunking VLANs over a single link. How does this fit in with Linux as i wouldn't have thought a Linux machine can differentiate between 802.1q and non 802.1q frames.

I cannot transfer files from my MacBook to my external hard drive anymore. The device responds with error-36 about documents being unreadable and unwritable. Previously the device worked fine.

Welcome to Apple Support Communities
When you try to copy data to the external drive, what happens? If you don't see any error, the external drive is formatted in NTFS, and OS X can't write in it.
To be able to write on this external drive, you have to use an app like Paragon NTFS. Another solution would be to format the external drive in FAT32 or exFAT with Disk Utility > http://pondini.org/OSX/DU1.html Make sure you copied all the files of the external disk to the internal disk before doing it

Connect the iPad to your computer. Launch iTunes and at the menu at the top of the screen, go to View>Show Sidebar. After you have the sidebar, click on your iPad name like you did in the past. Click on the Apps tab in the window on the right. Scroll down to File Sharing apps.

Cannot transfer files using Creative Media Sou

I cannot Cannot transfer files using from my PC to my Creative Jukebox 0GB using Creative Media Source. Since I installed Windows Media Player 0, it seems that Windows Media Player 0 is the only program enabled to transfer files to my creative Jukebox. I would just go ahead and use Media Player, but Media Player won't let me change my library to one designated music file folder location. Media Player wants to find every copy of the same song on my system and is very difficult to use to transfer the files to my Jukebox device. Is there any fix to make Creative Media Source the preferred (or only) program used to transfer the files from PC to device?

i am having a similar problem, although i have not downloaded windows media player 0. The creative mediasource software wont let me transfer songs onto my zen touch (20G). i only got the player a couple of days ago and it only has about 400 songs on it so far so there's no problem with the memory. I had problems before where it wouldnt let me upload anything that began with a letter after 's' in the alphabet! i solved this (no idea how) but the problem seems to have come back and now it wont let me up load anything. When i atempt to, it comes up with the prompt "unable to read file. file may be in use, missing or corrupted." (which they arent as far as i know) I also, for some reason, cannot play any songs through creative mediasource - even though i could a few hours ago!
Please could someone help as this is very frustrating!!!!!!

Cannot transfer file to other mobiles using blueto...

I used to be able to transfer files, images etc to other phones with bluetooth but recently I cannot. I can see the other mobiles in my list of found devices and I can also sucessfully pair with said devices. However as soon as I try to send them a image for example, the phones says "unable to connect".
I have tried smaller pictures/other files. I have also updated my phones firmware to the newest one and still no luck. Anyone know if Im missing something here?
P.s my phone is a N95

I recently bought laptop with windows vista on it. My other computer has windows xp. I would like to transfer files from wndows xp to vista, when I do I am unable to open this. How do you exactly mean: transferring files? Would you like to copy them to the machine with Vista?
And regarding the Excel (*.xls) files, you need Microsoft Excel which is in the Microsoft Office Package. That means if you have no Microsoft Office for Vista then you will need to purchase one to open and edit Excel files.

I have an Ipod Touch 5 that has the latest firmware. Itunes is up to date as well. The problem started in September after updating my ipod. Ever since then, I am unable to transfer files. Auto sync and manual transfer does not work. The only thing that has worked for me is to restore my ipod and resync everything. However, who wants to have to go to all that trouble if you just want to transfer one song? Under "on this ipod" everything is there except they're greyed out with grey dashed circles around the songs. I have been researching this for nearly two months without a solution. I'm able to transfer apps just fine, it's music, videos and photos that won't work. Please help me!

Laptop G400S Windows 7 cannot transfer file via bluetooth to cellphone

Dear all,
I just bought the above laptop but found difficuties to transfer the file via bluetooth either to LG or Samsung cellphone.
The laptop can easily paired with two gadgets but when I try to send something it will say:
"Windows was unable to transfer some file. A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time or established connection failed because connected host failed to respond".
Anybody can help please.

I did some additional testing today and "fixed" my problem.
I grabbed a new (almost fresh install of XP) laptop and installed a Jabra USB BT dongle with the MS BT Stack. Then I installed DM 5.0.1 and plugged the phone into a USB port to get it past the initial configuration.
Unplugged the BB from USB, went into Device Manager, enabled BT and searched for a new device. It forund the 8350i and finished pairing. Switch from USB to BT connection and DM5 could communicate with the phone (same as the original laptop).

Unplug the Jabra and re-enabled the internal BT on the laptop, file transfers fail again.
Same computer, similar BT (both Broadcom), one works and one doesn't. I'm left wondering if there isn't some remnant of the original ThinkPad BT Stack buried somewhere (registry?) that is interfering with the internal adapter.
My next step will be to install a clean copy of XP on a new HD in the "problem" laptop and see if I can get it working. If I can then that pretty much proves there is something left over or corrupt in the current OS.
i'm going to uninstall drivers from the problematic VAIO...try installing the same drivers as i have on the Acer (working) and see if this resolves anything as I think it may have something to do with the WIDCOMM...
after inspection you should have 2 bluetooth radio device drivers and 2 RIM serial port drivers (4 & 5 i believe)...last time i tried doin it and installed 4 RIM drivers...

Cannot transfer files

Hello,
When I am trying to send files from an Android device, the transfer will always fail unless I am looking at the transfer screen.
If the device's screen is off, or skype is working in the background, the transfer will always fail.
Is there a solution?

File Transfer is currently performed on a peer-to-peer basis, which means that both sides must be online at the same time for the transfer to occur
Skype for Android does not normally run in the background (primarily for battery conservation reasons)
A file transfer can continue to completion in the background (on the Android side) only if the receiving side has accepted the file tranfer while the Android client is in the foreground
Unfortunately, if you queue a file to send on the Android side, and then switch to another app, the file transfer will not work if the receiving side accepts the transfer after the Android client is no longer in the foreground (and still won't work if the Android client is accessed again -- i.e. you'll need to re-queue the file)

Cannot transfer files to and from WebDav server

I having much difficulty transferring files to and from our new WebDav server when using Finder's Connect to Server. I am able to connect and authenticate just fine. Although, when dragging and dropping to a mounted drive, I receive the following errors, then subsequently dropped from the sever.

This seems to be an issue affecting all 10.5 users in our university. PC's and 10.4 do not seem to be having this issue. When using CyberDuck and Goliath, I cannot login to the server whatsoever.
Any thoughts?

Same problem here with the finder.
But Cyberduck (ver. 3.2, build 4648) works fine.
