Vlan translation on SCE8000 version 3.8.5

i have the version on sce 3.8.5, in the version 3.1 exist a command vlan translation decrement value, but i cant find in the version 3.8.5. how i can configure vlan translation on the sce new version. thanks
regards

If you have to work with it, I would simply import through the finder to a folder on your hard disk and then import from there. You might have to set up the USB communication mode on your camera to Mass storage isntead of PtP (should be somewhere buried in the menus). Changing that setting might help with the direct Lightroom import too. You might also get better results going through a card reader (you can get them at many places for <$10) instead of connecting directly to the camera which is always a recipe for problems and slow imports. A card reader is a good investment as they usually are MUCH faster than going through the camera's USB connection.
A Lightroom upgrade to v5 is $79 dollars. It might be worth it to think about. I understand tight money though and sometimes even $80 is a big deal but you might not have been aware you can get upgrade pricing if you have LR 3. ANother option is getting the creative cloud photographer deal which is $10/month and includes both the full version of Photoshop and Lightroom. I don't like the idea of rental software but that is quite the deal.

  • Vlan Translations, 6500

Looking to verify if the version IOS on the 6500 will work. This is the document for 12.2SX
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/catalyst6500/ios/12.2SX/configuration/guide/vlans.html#wp1044990
The version running is 12.2(33)SXI2a.   It has the appropriate cards, so just need to verify this version has the commands. I dont have direct access to ty them myself, nor attempt to walk someone through on a production switch.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
From the IOS master commands link
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios-xml/ios/interface/command/ir-s7.html#wp3252950350
    switchport vlan mapping
To map the traffic arriving on the VLAN original-vlan-id to the VLAN translated-vlan-id and the traffic that is internally tagged with the VLAN translated-vlan-id with the VLAN original-vlan-id before leaving the port, use the switchportvlanmapping command in interface configuration mode. To clear the mapping between a pair of VLANs or clear all the mappings that are configured on the switch port, use the no form of this command.
    switchport vlan mapping original-vlan-id translated-vlan-id
    no switchport vlan mapping { original-vlan-id translated-vlan-id | all }
    Syntax Description
    original-vlan-id
Original VLAN number; valid values are from 1 to 4094.
    translated-vlan-id
Translated VLAN number; valid values are from 1 to 4094.
    all
Clears all the mappings that are configured on the switch port.
    Command Default
No mappings are configured on any switch port.
    Command Modes
    Interface configuration
    Command History
    Release
    Modification
    12.2(17b)SXA
Support for this command was introduced on the Supervisor Engine 720.
    12.2(18)SXE
This command is not supported on GE Layer 2 WAN ports.
    12.2(33)SRA
This command was integrated into Cisco IOS Release 12.2(33)SRA.
    So 12.2.33SX is supported

  • SCE vlan translation with connection-mode inline on-failure bypass

    Hi guys,
Can anyone tell me the behaviour of the SCE (1010 or 2020) in a failure scenario when configured with the following commands?
    connection-mode inline on-failure bypass
    VLAN translation increment value 5
While the SCE is in failure mode, will the VLAN increment between the SUB and NET ports still be applied (ie. applied in hardware while the control engine is being bypassed), or will all frames be passed from the SUB to the NET ports unaltered?
    Regards,
    Brett.

    Reading through the CLI :
    int LineCard 0
    connection-mode inline on-failure bypass
      VLAN translation ?
decrement  Vlan will be decremented on network port and incremented on subscriber port
increment  Vlan will be incremented on network port and decremented on subscriber port
So on traffic that is either coming in on either the network side or sub side will get either incremeneted or decremented for vlan translation.
Is there a need to do this ? what scenario are you considering using it in ? if the traffic is bypassed as is shown why you need to further massage it ?

  • VLAN translation, Cisco 3750G 12S-E

    Hi
I need to do some VLAN translation where I achieve the following:
    On port 1 translate VLAN 101 -> 1001. VLAN 102 -> 1002. VLAN 103 -> 1003.
    On port 2 translate VLAN 104 -> 1001. VLAN 105 -> 1002. VLAN 106 -> 1003.
    On port 3 translate VLAN 107 -> 1001. VLAN 108 -> 1002. VLAN 109 -> 1003.
In example VLAN 1002 in on port 2 is translated to VLAN 105 internally on the Cisco.
How do I do this? :)

You might be able to cross link VLAN ports, e.g. port 1, VLAN 101, connects to port 2, VLAN 1001, to effect a "translation", but on a switch with only 12 ports, you can only do 5 such connections (I'm assuming you want 1 or 2 ports for connections to other devices to move the VLAN traffic in or out).

  • VLAN translation for VoIP config.

I have an Cisco 1751-v4 as the core router. Also a Cisco Cat 1900 switch with ports 17-24 configured for VLAN membership VLAN 2 (VLAN 1 is data).
My goal is to configure VoIP, but I want the VLAN to be on a 172.x.x.x subnet.
Can I create a second dhcp pool I can include "option 150" for VoIP only?
my next question is I have a fast ethernet interface (LAN) and an ethernet interface (WAN, which interface do I configure the VLAN encapsulation on?
I have included my current config below.
    thanks for the help.

    Ankur,
I am still having issues configuring VLAN's.
During some reading, I understand I should not have to create a trunk as I am only using a single cisco 1900 switch.I should not have to configure VTP on the switch as well for the same purpose.
Here is what I am looking at:
    Router#>int fasteth0/0
    ip address 192.168.2.1 255.255.255.0
    ip helper-address 192.168.2.0
    ip nat inside
From what I have read, I need to configure the DHCP DATA pool (192.168.2.0) as vlan1 native. But when I attempt to configure the IP address for the native VLAN1 on fastethernet0/0.1 (subinterface) I recieve IP address overlap with int fasteth0/0 interface error.
Question, can I configure interface fastethernet0/0 without an IP address, but configure the subinterfaces 0/0.1 and 0/0.2 with ip address?

  • Dynamic VLAN assignment and DHCP

    Hello
I have just upgraded our WLC from 4.0 to 7.0 (via 4.2).
Before the upgrade we had our ACS returning a VLAN based on user group.  This seemed to be working without an issue.  Now that the WLC is on version 7 this is no longer working correctly.  The ACS is returning a VLAN and passing the user but the client can not get an IP from the DHCP server configured.
    Example configuration:
    SSID-----VLAN
    PN-CSC-----CSCVlan: Works
    PN-Others------OthersVlan: Works
    PN-Others-----CSCVlan: No DHCP
When users are trying to be allocated to a vlan that is different from the native one the DHCP fails however both WLANs are configured to point to the management interface so dont have any real connection to the vlan other than by name.
Have there been any changes I haven't seen in the way the dynamic vlan allocation works in version 7?

Yes, DHCP proxy could be the culprit here.  In 4.0 it was only a CLI command to enable/disable the proxy feature.  In 5.2, I think, and later it is in the GUI
    as well.
There is a defect filed against the behavior of the WLC DHCP funtion out there currently.  If all of your DHCP is coming from external resources than you can disable proxy.  If, however, you are using the WLC as DHCP server for guest access, then proxy must be enabled.  If the later is true, you should contact TAC, as there is an engineering special available that has the defect resolution.
Sorry I can't provide the defect ID, my CCO account is acting up.
    Cheers,
    Steve

  • Add Routes in VLAN of CSM

    Hello,
i try to add this route in vlan of CSM
    vlan 100 client
    ip address 10.192.96.19 255.255.255.0
    >route 10.0.0.0 255.0.0.0 gateway 10.192.96.10
    >alias 10.192.96.18 255.255.255.0
    But don't work.
Only work when i put this routes
    vlan 100 client
    ip address 10.192.96.19 255.255.255.0
    > route 10.0.0.0 255.128.0.0 gateway 10.192.96.10

    ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 10.194.26.4
    The questions are:
    1) why only work after add this second route?
    2) If they no have no one route in a VLAN, the CSM
    uses the route of MSFC?
    Thank you for cooperation.
    Anderson Andrade

    hello.
When you say it does not work, does the csm reject the route with an error message ?
Do you have the same route configured on another csm vlan ?
    What csm version ?
When you have the first route only, could you do a 'sho mod csm X arp' and see if you get an arp entry for the gateway.
Finally, regarding your 2nd question, the CSM never uses msfc routes.
    Regards,
    Gilles.

  • Concerning OTV and VLAN Assignments

I've been looking around but can't find any specific information...
When configuring OTV between data centers, is it required/advisable/best practice to have the VLANs that you need to extend from one DC to another have the same VLAN ID? Does that matter?
For example, VLAN 10 in New York DC is the 172.31.12.0/23 network. I want to extend the 172.31.12.0/23 network to the Los Angeles DC. Does the VLAN ID in the LA DC need to be VLAN 10 or can I use any VLAN ID in this case?
    Thanks!

    Hi Clay,
In my opinion it would be best practice to have the same VLAN numbering across the data centres you're extending VLANs, purely to keep things simple. Obviously if you translate from one VLAN number to another it will add some complexity and so complicate troubleshooting to some extent.
As far as whether having the same IP subnet assigned to different VLAN numbers is possible, I'm afraid you can't do this today. As of November 2012 Cisco were saying support for OTV VLAN translation would be available in the Nexus 7000 NX-OS 6.2 release. If you have Cisco Partner level access you can see the Nexus 7000 Roadmap Update presentation where this is discussed (see slide 11).

  • How can a structured frame be used for translating books to foreign languages?

I keep reading about how a structured approach can improve the translation process (from english to foreign languages), however, i can't seem to find specifics about a particular method or tutorials about how to go about it (specifically). My question is, how (specifically) can structured framemaker be used for translation from english to foreign languages?  Links to tutorials on this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    @Ian Proudfood
A well organized XML based project will definitely save translation costs. There are many advantages to the XML approach to translation management including:
Almost zero DTP rework costs - make the EDD/Template do all of the work!
Translation is application version independent - no need to wait for the Translation Memory/CMS system vendor to support the latest version of FrameMaker.
»... a well organized XML based project will definitively save translation costs.« – I have read sentences like this from a lot of consultants. And I have consulted/supported a lot of customers after those consultants left the stage. I always hear more or less the same from all of those clients. No question, I hear a lot of arguments for working with XML in tech doc, most of the arguments you mention included. Most of the tech writers are happy with the new structured FrameMaker and enjoy writing. And, cross your heart: Finally there's no alternative to XML in the long term if you take your tech writer job seriously. No question – working with pure XML in a professional information architecture in a structured, guiding editing environment like FrameMaker is cool, fun, faster and produces more open, more accessible, more reusable, more reliable, more consistent, in a nutshell: more valuable data.
But what I have never ever heard, and I'm talking about several hundred companies, is: We save more money on translation now. You might imagine that this is surprising me since many years. This is why I always ask: Did you save any costs in your translation projects? Surprisingly the answer is always: No. Actually some – no, wait: many – tell me, that their translation agency even charges more now, because they have a lot of new costs:
Costs, to customize their translation memory system to the clients custom xml,
costs to follow badly or not documented changes in the client's xml structure (DTD/Schema changes) in the TMS,
costs because of more engineering work like
    valididating xml in advance,
    fixing invalid xml exports,
fixing invalid translations due to – sometimes massively – increased amount of tag errors because of tagging differences of "old" (legacy mif) and "new" (xml) tags,
dealing with just too big XML files that need to be carefully split, so that the TMS has a chance to read it, or alternatively:
"glue" the ten-thousand xml "snippets" to more handy chunks,
project managers and translators that need to do additional checks, validations, verifyings - and often not knowing what to do with those cryptic error messages, meaning additional support costs
Of course, many if no all of these and many other problems I did not mention here can be solved. And many are not exactly system immanent problems but communication problems (like introducing or renaming elements/attributes but not documenting this and not communicating this to the translation service provider) or would apply to any system change (e.g. also when switching from Word to Frame). However, I do not know of any single translation company on this planet (and I know virtually thousands of them from countries all over the world) that reduced the price per word for just a single pence, just because the client switched over from Word/Quark/FrameMaker/InDesign/Whatever to XML.
Just ask your translation service provider: Will you charge me less per word if I send you XML instead of MIF? I would really be surprised to hear a "yes". And frankly, if you have ever compared a professional FrameMaker document with the same document in xml format in a professional system like Trados: There is actually no difference that would justify any price difference. The text is the same, the amount of words identical, the number of tags is identical, it even looks identical in the translation system (I can post screenshots if you like). From the translation perspective there is no single reason why a translator should charge a single pence less.
So, it's a modern myth, that switching to xml reduces translation costs. That might be true, if you come from a really medieval documentation szenario with MS Word or the like, with manual formatting without any styles and so on (I see tech docs every day where even the TOC is typed in manually!!!) and swith from there to a modern structured xml authoring in combination with other supporting tools like authoring memory / authoring assistance, controlled language, translation memory and terminology managent and control, snippet based content management and so on. That will increase the consistency and quality of your data, which will reduce translation costs in the long term. But the truth is: This has nothing to do with XML per se, but with professional writing and professional management.
So, what's left in the money saving story? No more DTP in the target languages? I always hear, that with XML and FrameMaker you do not have to "format" the translated document. The truth is: If you have a professionally formatted (unstructured) document, you don't have to take care of it, too. Modern tools like Trados keep 100% of the formatting 100% correct in the translated document. If the underlying template is intelligent enough to take account of text amount changes due to longer translations, and if you don't have too many local formatting overrides, the DTP is actually zero and can be reduced to a few mintes/hours for "flying" of the document to check out for unexpeted problems wich can occure in both structured and unstructured documents.
Just to give some numbers on this: We are processing every day technical documentations for a quite big company. A typical documentation from them is about 250 pages in unstructured FrameMaker 9 (source language is English). Until now they were resistent to all my XML pushing. The Documentation is based on a straight, simple template (with our help "reduced to the max") and there are no formatting overrides (a script automatically checks this). The post translation Quality Assurance effort is - depending on the target language - usually something between 1 to 4 hours – that's a few seconds per page for the languages where already a lot of past Quality Assurance Steps went back into the Translation Memories and up to a minute per page for more "problematic" languages).
So, again: XML will not save you a single pence on translations. But it might help you to produce more open, more accessible, more reusable, more reliable, more consistent, in a nutshell: more valuable data. But if you already have properly set up (ustructured) FrameMaker Documents and already work with a professional translation memory system, you will be quite disappointed to learn, that the impressive money saving promises you recently saw on that great PowerPoint slides melt down to a few bucks over a couple of years.
    Kind regards,
    Stefan Gentz

  • Modifying Version Set and/or Stack Attributes

My Photoshop Elements (PSE) 5.0 catalog has many version sets and stacks.
Contrary to my expectation, I recently learned that that edits to the top photo's attributes (e.g. Date, Caption, Notes, Tags, etc.) did not translate through to the underlying photos of the associated version set or stack. As a consequence, subsequently moving a different photo to the top of a stack or version set can lead to loss (or at least displacement) of these important attributes.
Is there a way to get PSE to automatically copy attribute changes through to the underlying photos or at least to ask the user if (s)he wants edits to translate through the version set or stack? If this feature is not currently available, I think it would be a significant value-added enhancement to the product.

Users tend to use software differently and to have differing needs and preferences. Barb's point is valid in that, should Adobe provide the ability to assign attributes 'through' a version set or stack, the feature would warrant a user prompt or preference setting to acomodate user's differing needs and preference.
Exceptional software, like PSE, anticipates and supports user needs in an efficient and predictable manner. Version sets, almost by definition, can be expected to have the same date, time, tags, captions and notes. Stacks - perhaps to a lesser degree.
Forcing users to perform tasks in a specified sequence (e.g. adjusting attributes before version sets or stack generation), or to expand stacks or version sets to assign attributes through to underlying photos, seems unnecessarily tedious and inconvenient. For instance, expanding version sets and stacks forces users to aboard current search criteria.
Anyone who has imported large batches of scanned negatives or slides which contain no meaningful metadata (with PSE set to auto-correct red-eye and to recommend stacks) knows how easy it is to generate version sets and stacks BEFORE the user begins the process of attribute assignment or correction.

  • What does act/unsup mean in the "show vlan" output

I have 2 same switches with factory default configuration. I found that once those 2 switches are up, the show vlan output is different.
one of the switch shows active in the status column for the vlans 1002-1005, and the other switch shows act/unsup for same set of vlan.
I've delete the vlan.dat file and reboot but the problem is still there.
    Why?
Can anyone tell me what is the meaning of act/unsup?

    Hi,
The 'act/unsup' is stating that the switch doesn't support TR or FDDI vlans.
Check the versions of IOS on both switches to see if they match.
    Regards,
    Phil.

  • Managed subnet and dynamic vlans

    Hi all,
I have confusion with managed subnet, we have 3 untrusted vlans, 9 trusted vlans and 3 separate vlans for vlan mapping. all vlans have different ip subnets, but untrusted vlans don’t have ip subnet, it will another vlan’s ip subnet so which vlan and which subnet ip should  I use for managed subnet?
Here is the detail of vlan and ip
    Untrusted vlan
    101      for floor 1
    102     for floor 2
    103 for floor    3
We have separate vlan for vlan mapping
    101 <-> 901            (172.30.1.0/24)
    102 <-> 902         (172.30.2.0/24)
    103 <-> 903         (172.30.3.0/24)
In the initial phase untrusted client should get 172. 30.X.X range ip address from dhcp and for trusted clients they should get the ip address as per the trusted vlans as follows
    Trusted Vlan                              (ip subnet)
    501     for floor 1 sales dept     (192.168.1.0/24)
    502     for floor 2 sale dept           (192.168.2.0/24)
    503    for floor 3 sales dept        (192.168.3.0/24)
    601 for floor 1 mkt dept          (192.168.4.0/24)
    602  for floor 2 mkt dept        (192.168.5.0/24)
    603 for floor 3 mkt dept        (192.168.6.0/24)
    701 for floor 1  admin dept      (192.168.7.0/24)
    702 for floor 2 admin dept      (192.168.8.0/24)
    703 for floor 3 admin dept     (192.168.9.0/24)
And I need to configure dynamic vlan for all users. E.g. if user is from sales department and login from floor 1 trusted vlan should be 501 and if this user login from floor 2 then trusted vlan should be 502. Can anyone give me the configuration sample or ideas for this scenario?
    Thank you

    Laxman,
Your managed subnets should be the IP range of 172.30.x.y (where y is a valid number and NOT the network number, i.e.0 or 255) with a VLAN tag of 101, 102 or 103.
For ensuring that the VLANs translate properly according to where your users are, you can assing named VLANs in the role-based VLAN config screens. Make sure the case matches as you define them on the switch and CAM. So this way if a user is on first floor and his role-based assigned VLAN is Sales, it will translate to 501, etc

  • Spanish translation

I wanted to know if you like how Skype is translated into Spanish. Do you like the tone and the vocabulary used? Should it be more adapted into Spanish (from Spain) or into LatinoAmerican Spanish.
Your thoughts and opinions are welcome...

Hi there! I'm the Spanish translator for the OSX / iOS version, I hope you like those, wherever you come from (Latin America or Spain). I've been translating the Mac version for several years and it's nice to read this kind of comments!
Hola! Soy la persona que traduce la versión de OSX e iOS, espero que os guste, no importa de dónde vengáis (Latinoamérica o España). He traducido la versión para Mac desde hace varios años y siempre es genial leer este tipo de comentarios
