Vlc (Actually .avi) not working... [CHECK: DOUBLE TROUBLE..]

I can hear the sound but no video. I get an error message to.

And vlc must be able to play wmv right?

Is the bug for the first 2 errors you have there.
Now is this on every avi? Is there an example one you can post up for us to see if we have the same problem on our systems? And if this is confirmed, please put it in the bug tracker.

Try this ... reboot your Mac and see if double clicking works again.
Also, you can just select the Application you like to open and hold down the Command+O to open.
Also, did you check your setting for the mouse in system preferences.

Bug (?) with Corporate Connectivity is (not) Working check

Noticed something odd. In situations where:
Direct Access client is offsite
their Internet access is via WiFi
they first have to enter their access credentials through a web-based captive portal before access is granted
then the Corporate Connectivity Check process malfunctions. Have seen cases where, after accessing the captive portal and being authenticated, Internet access works on the client. Direct Access then connects successfully. This is confirmed
on the server console, showing the client connected and the user credentials used. The client is able to access internal resources just fine (e.g. network drives on file servers).
But on the client itself, it still says Corporate Connectivity is Not Working. The WiFi icon is showing an exclamation mark. My belief is that this is caused by the client's inability to access Microsoft NCSI servers in a timely fashion.
So it looks like the corporate connectivity checks are dependent on Microsoft NCSI checks.
Can someone at Microsoft please look into this, as it is confusing our users (not to mention us guys in IT who have only just discovered this odd behaviour!).

After I followed the steps, I found that the time out occurs when trying to resolve the internal domain name.
The Windows Firewall was enabled on all profiles ( active on the public )
There were no IPsec sessions established in the Security associations tab, so I enabled the audit policy of the IPsec as per your instructions.
There is reoccurring error in the Security log :

As far as I understand - the connection can not be established due to certificate error, which in my case is strange since my DA configuration is set to not use computer certificates, only Kerberos.
I will keep digging but any additional tip/advice will be appreciated!

JAR suddenly not working on double click...

I have a program that I have been working on for the past few months. I want to run it from the desktop in the form of a .jar file. I use netbeans to create the jar file. In previous versions, this has worked very well. With the most recent build, I have problems running it when clicking on it.
When the .jar is within the project's folder it is possible to run by double clicking. When I take that same file and move it anywhere else, for example, the desktop, it will not run on double click. It forms a javaw.exe process and hangs. I can run the newly moved jar from the command line with "java -jar 'path'", but not with the double click I want. I have tried this on several computers using the same version of Java..
This really puzzles me cause it has worked as intended for a few months now, but not anymore.. If anyone has any suggestions of why this might be happening, it would be very much appreciated as I really need this thing to run like I hoped it would

no, there is a bug in your code that is causing this strange behavior. What people here are suggesting is that this bug is probably causing an exception, but you are not handling this exception correctly, probably catching it but never doing even a printStackTrace(). This causes the application to fail without you knowing why.
My suggestion is to run the code from an IDE so you can step through it in debug mode, and see where it is going wrong.

But Now in 1.4.2 version I have to use /// slashes to make it work...
Can anyone shed any light on this. Has Sun changed something ?

Was always working and today I get a message that it can not connect to the internet. Internet Exployer works fine. So, I tried uninstalling the program and reinstalled. Still did not work. check out the proxy and firewall no problems there.

I get a message can not connect to the internet when trying to open Mozzila Firefox. It was working fine until my internet service went down. Once back up it was not working. I have tried installing and uninstalling the browser. I have looked at the firewall and proxy on my computer. Still not working Internet Exployer works fine. Deleted all cookies also.

Did you check your security software (firewall)?
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox without informing you about that, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox.

You are reading LT_AFIH into WA_AFIH. But then you are assigning NPLDS from WA_MHIS. From what I can see, WA_MHIS hasn't been filled with anything. Try changing:
     WA_MC17I30HDR-ZZNPLDA = WA_MHIS-NPLDA.
To:
     WA_MC17I30HDR-ZZNPLDA = WA_AFIH-NPLDA.
Hope that does the trick.

CS5 Print Booklet not working correctly - double sided issues

So I'm very familiar with Print Booklet and have done many books in the past double-sided, but somehow in the last few months, my InDesign is having trouble with page sequence when printing booklets. Instead of printing the odd spreads how it should ... I'm getting every other spread (within the 'odd only' or 'even only'). So for instance, in this one signature... I was supposed to get a print of the spread with pages 11 and 14, followed by the center of the signature which contained pages 12 and 13 on the left and right, respectively. What happened was 12/13 never printed but the spread before it did print, and the spread before THAT one didn't print. In the "preview" part on Print Booklet, it looks normal. It's just when it actually goes to print, it has a problem.
I've tried printing with my printer and on multiple others — happens everytime.
I'm trying to print a 24 page saddle-stitch booklet, double sided. I normally would print the odds first, flip the prints, and then print the evens. I have "print blank pages" and "print blank printer spreads" checked and everything seems to be normal... except it just keeps printing every other "odd" spread instead of all the odd spreads.
I'm going to be printing a 200+pg book soon with a lot of signatures and really don't want to have to manually organize them all... so any help would be gladly appreciated.

Your screen captures look correct, so the next step would be to go into the print driver (Click the Printer button, I believe) and check there to see if you've got it set to skip pages. After that, try trashing your prefs: Replace Your Preferences

.AVI not working

I recently made the switch from Windows to apple, and have been transferring all of my important files from my old computer. All of my mpegs are working fine, but none of my .avi files will open. Window Media Player for Mac says it is an invalid file extention, and Quicktime says it is missing certain files to play said clips, but none of the files it suggests seem to be able to play .avi files. Is there a plugin I can use to make Quicktime play these files, or is there a good open-source media player I can download that will play these files. Or should these files be playing properly, and I need to trouble shoot them?

Urgent. Issue with converted .mov files to avi not working in Premiere.

I am trying to import video files that I have converted from .mov to .avi through OjoSoft Total Video Converter and anytime I try to put a file into the work area, the video goes to Video 1, and Audio goes to Audio 4. When I try to play it I get no audio, and the video jumps from frame 1 to frame 2.
Does anyone know a good converter or know the best way to convert and what filetypes to do so? They work converting them as MP4 video files, but I like avi's better.
I have tried converting the .mov to mpeg4 and H.264 (Both with audio as MP3). They will play in Windows Media Player after convert but not in premiere...
I am running Premiere CS4 on Windows7 with no direct codec packs installed. I opened a video/audio file that I worked on before with no issues...video/audio run flawlessly in Premiere.

What are the codecs in the original MOV files and what are the codecs after conversion? Use GSpot to identify them.

Vlc and adobe not working

i got a little nagging problem here...
whenever i install adobe or vlc, all the icons on my desktop are replaced by either of the shortcuts for these two programms and this has me insane!!! nothing works after that and i had to remove the two.. i definitely wanna use adobe if not vlc!

Try running SFC /SCANNOW from an elevated command prompt.

Mac OS X Server 10.6.7 update - Time Machine not working and other trouble.

I've upgraded my mid 2010 mac mini server to 10.6.7 with server Combo download.
After installation (without any errors) i've detected this troubleshooting.
Time Machine (backup hd is the 2nd 500GB Hd of mini server) dont work more and
display error message that suggest to verify hard disks (done with no errors detection).
Mac Help display white page.
And if try to install Server Admin Tools, installation utility not recognize system HD and cannot be done.
The mac mini server seems however works and services seems works rights. Can be rebooted without problems.
I've tried to backup the system disk on the second hd with Carbon Copy Cloner without problem and it recognize system disk well.
I've upgraded also two others mac minis (mid 2010) with standard 10.6.7 version (no server) and a macbook and a macbook pro without problems (but i've not tried time machine on them).

I know the problems with Time Machine on Mac OS server. In your case: Look at the log files, searching for "backupd", if that tells you anything.
In my case, Time Machine in the last year stopped several times. Occasionally, there was a helpful message in the log files where I could identify a file where it had hung -- typically intermediate build results of Xcode. After excluding or deleting the offending files (where possible), Time Machine ran successfully.
Another situation which has repeatedly occurred is that time machine just hangs and does not progress, and no log entry helps. In 3 such cases what helped was to delete the spotlight index (e.g., with TinkerTool System) and let it rebuild. It took inordinately long (10 hrs) and there were log entries by mdworker that it had difficulty processing files. But when the spotlight index was finally rebuilt, Time Machine worked again.
BTW: I don't need Time Machine to backup the server system, for that I run mirrors etc., but for user files it is most convenient and has helped several times. Thus I have excluded nearly everything but /User/*.

How is the printer connected (USB cable, ethernet, or wireless)?
What operating system are you using on your computer? whatsmyos.com
Do you have any error messages? If yes, what does the error message say and where is it displayed (printer or computer)?
Does the double printing happen for anything else, or just one of the printables when you choose to print it? Does it happen for just one printable, or all printables?

ACTUAL FREIGHT not working properly

Hello,
The freight charge sent from OM to AR is wrong on second and succeeding deliveries (i.e. backorders) on an order using "Actual Freight" (freight term). For order with 2 deliveries, the first shipment is charged correctly (with actual freight), the second delivery will also be charged correctly in the delivery lines(Additional Order info).
However, the total order charge will also be updated with that of the amount of the 2nd shipment. And when OM transfers the record to AR, the "Shipping and Handling" line(AR interface) will have the amount equal to the difference between the 2nd shipping charge and the 1st shipping charge. Any idea why?
Setup:
Use ACTUAL FREIGHT modifier for freight charge
Tax: Invoice Freight as Revenue - YES
Tax: Inventory Item for Freight - setup with the Shipping And Handling item
OM: Charges For Backorders = Null (if we put YES), no "Shipping And Handling" line item is sent to the AR interface.

Ok, sorry - my previous comments relating to freight setup were primarily relevant to a freight charge entered on an order line.
How are you applying your freight at ship confirm? Against the delivery or against a delivery detail line? I always apply against the first detail line in a delivery because at shipping I do apply as a lumpsum and otherwise I find that applying against the delivery itself results in some very messy-looking pro-rating of the charge against each line when passed to AR. My freight amount then appears in AR as a single amount against the freight item name I have set up in the profile option Tax: Inventory Item for Freight
The setup I'm currently using for this is a single modifier line qualified Order/Shipped Flag = Yes, Order/Freight Cost Type = FREIGHT and with Pricing Phase = Line Charges and Application Method = LUMPSUM. The line references a cost-to-charge formula to derive the value as follows: NVL(1,2)*3 where 1 is the seeded pricing attribute for freight cost, 2 = constant 0, 3 = constant 1
I hope the above is of some help if your requirement allows a similar setup.
