Vlingo Plus for Nokia 5800xm

I installed Vlingo Plus from OVI Store on my Nokia 5800xm.. When I say call xyz.. It starts dialing to xyz.. but immediately (fraction of a second) 'Call Disconnected' is shown and 'No answer' message is displayed on the screen.. This happens while I try ANY number from my contacts..
Contacted the Vlingo support and was told to remove the battery for a few minutes insert and re-boot.. but the problem is still there.. Have given my feedback to Vlingo but in the mean time.. can someone suggest the solution ??

P.S. No problem with calls made thru' normal dialling..

Thanx jimmyireland.. but I have already done that and also written a Private message to one of the mods.. The one thru' the 'Contact Us' seems already closed with the STANDARD reply...

The one thru' the mods is still open but not so prompt it seems...a reply last received on 3rd Nov., 2010 with some comments of "sent higher up" .. but no progress since then...

Don't forget:
Before put new update you have to make a hard format to your mobile and to your memory card!!!

First... i did not hard reseted ... not even soft reset it... however i can tell this:
Interface looks a bit more snappy...
RDS on radio seems to work.... BUT takes a lot of time (like 2~3mins - and don't touch the phone during that time) to catch station name (and before someone asks, i'm in a place where reception is quite good)... with version v21 was almost instantaneous (it took a bit of time but was like 10~20 seconds) ... also ... i managed to almost lockup/crash the phone with radio application... after around 1min it closed and went back to homescreen ... and i had to reboot the phone to make radio to work again ...
RDS seems to work .... but just sometimes
Another point on RDS is that bluetooth needs to be active for it to work.... i find it quite amusing *sarcasm* .... i don't know if this is really true.... but when it worked i had it on....
Radio is filled with bugs... i wonder if a hardreset will correct them, aside from what i've said, i also get the radio widget on homescreen even when radio was shutdown ...
The rotation of screen is now being detected correctly ... you now don't have to tilt the phone down to make it work... (the guy that changed calibration config for this on v50 should have been killed)
About free memory.... running Nokia's Energy Profile, after reboot,, it shows around 59Mb free of RAM ... a hard reset would be better to test this... :/ ... with old versions i got around 60Mb right after reboot so no huge improvement here
Camera quality is identical, no extra manual control over it either, it's not that bad as some people say, the 1/6" sensor does a great job for its size...
Please remember i did not hard reset (mainly because it is a pain to put everything there again), however some of the stuff doesn't require hard reset to be tested... i would love to hear about how radio is working from someone who had hard reset and waits a bit (5 mins?) with an RDS enabled station to see if it's working (also try with and without the bluetooth on, and with listed and non-listed station - listed has in saved)

Hi, don't have an answer to your question, but Skype for S60.5 was announced today, works fine, will give Skype to Skype calls free, and low cost calls to non Skype numbers, but both Skype or Voip will incur data charges if you don;t have a data plan !

Nokia 5800XM - Live Mail Not Working in Nokia Mess...

It has been a long time since I have been using the Nokia Messaging Email to receive emails from my different email accounts includinga couple of Windows Live Mail accounts to my Nokia 5800XM and it was working like a charm till a couple of weeks age.
Since last couple of weeks I am not receiving email from my Windows Live Mail accounts, other account POP/IMAP are working fine but Windows Live Mail account are not working at all, none of them. I haven't changed any password or something, I don't know what is wrong but I am unable to receive email from WLM, even if I open mail app and manually do a Send/ Receive, it doesn't update my emails from my WLM accounts. I have even tried resetting the data from Nokia Messaging Email settings but for no avail.
Can someone help or update me in this regard, what's going on, is it just me or . ...

i used to b a ericsson fan but recently bought this phone n love it, i used to play music from my sony ericsson thru my xbox 360, but i am unable to do so with my nokia 5800xm via usb cable (even after selecting all the usb option available)...can any of u guys do the same????

Hi, I would like to know if there is anymore firmware updates for Nokia 5800 XM after V52.0.007?
Can anyone provide me with the news?
I am a huge fan of Nokia and their Symbian platform.. But I am getting more and more disappointed with them.
I cannot use another OS. Cannot use new softwares. Very slow and low hardware and performances..
I was hoping to get a Symbian ^ 3 update for my 5800 but that is not possible... So I have decided to see the last firmware update for 5800 and see if its any good. Otherwise I'll simply throw it away and start using HD2.

There are rumors about a v60 coming out, but I quite doubt it... and even if it comes it will most likely be a failure...
Nokia has done so much stuff wrong latelly (even Symbian^3 devices are filled with bugs and issues) and doesn't commit into fix them before launching something new based on the old ones.
This angers the users and most likely drivens them away... Nokia was once one of the biggest (if not the biggest) name in smartphone industry... now ... iPhone, Android based and even the dieing Blackberry are way ahead of them ... only 'dumbphones' on Nokia worth some consideration...
If you think 5800 has issues then don't look at it's more expensive brother ... the N97... so much for a top of the line phone...
Nokia has the firmware so fragmented that makes Android look like an homogeneous mass of software...
Because how some companies work, I start a personal blacklist of devices/brands that will never buy.... Apple and Sony are on the top of that list, Nokia will soon join them :[
Well... true to be said, I have 2 old 'dumbphones' - one of them has a 3.2MP camera with OPTICAL zoom, while it has 6~7 years more than 5800 it beats it in screen quality, camera quality and build quality, it also cost half the value of it - that I would most likely return to once 5800 dies... because it will die...

WIFI proxy on nokia 5800XM

hi to all, i m currently using nokia 5800XM.in my college we use internet through WIFI but it have some proxy setting like proxy ip,port and username and password in nokia 5800xm we can do setting in destination but this setting is applied to browser only but it was not able to use ovi store and some other apps on wifi means it will not ask for username and password which is asked in browser ..... SO ANY ONE HAVE PROXY BY PASSER FOR MY HANDSET? PLZZZZZ HELP ME.

Ovi Store does not use the http proxy settings of access point. The web browser can "see" those proxy settings successfully, and it asks for login/password every time I run it. But the Ovi Store application does not recognise the proxy settings of access point. I tried to login to proxy using the web browser and then run Ovi Store at the same time, hoping that Ovi Store will be able to connect to Internet after that. NO SUCCESS.
This is a serious issue. I must not be forced to use the expensive mobile connection in order to use Ovi Store application (which obviously uses http protocol). Waiting impatiently for this issue to be fixed.
P.S. Considering another platform at this moment.

Contact Bar has stopped Working for Nokia 5800 XM

Is there any way that anyone would be able to help me. I have had the Nokia 5800XM for 2 months now and a couple of days after getting it, my contacts bar home screen froze. It does not let me add any contacts on, and leaves the screen unresponsive which means that i have to use a different home screen option. have tried Updating Firmware(also tried re-installing it) My version is 30.0.011, and it does not let me update to the new Firmware

I had this problem with my 5800XM last week. The only difference was that it was the shortcut screen that failed. Everytime I pressed a button nothing happened, even the contact and dialler buttons were dead. I had to change to the contacts home screen (very annoying). Tried the web but couldn't find any mention of this problem.
In frustration, I did a hardware re-set of my phone (after doing a backup) using the Green, Red and Camera buttons whilst the phone was powering up,. I then re-formatted the memory card in the phone and did a full re-install.
Hey presto, everything works perfectly again. I guess the software in some way got screwed up ?
