VM Ware Workstation 10 no connection to the PC

Hello,
I installed Virtual Box VM Ware Workstation 10.0.4 with virtual system bulid 9841 Technical Preview posed on Windows 7 Home Premium x64 & 6.1.7601, Service Pack 1 Acer Intel i5 8GB RAM.
I have many problems with this  bugs nad need litte help.
Internet connection does not work - I typed the name of your network and the IP address used (the router -dynamiczny-connectivity via Wi-Fi and USB Wirelles Realtek 11n) in a virtual machine I set the connection type
(See pictures below)
Keyboard - the system does not respond to keyboard keys if necessary. After a long delay, sometimes helps ctrl + Alt or Ctrl + G but not always, as there is no access-function does not work kopij -wklej the mouse and
keyboard.
The VM option screen and mouse set to bidrectional right click, but without effect.
Scaling applications to the metro to the screen does not scroll the screen to see the half up / down aplikacji- current VM 1660x1210 resolution
Scrolling window with Windows 10 VM - what changed in the same VM to be able to scroll the mouse wheel
There are no controls are installed to the VM, but to attempt to download, install fails with the error (as below), nothing is downloaded in the background, the same VM as nothing pulls, modifying files, optionally adding controls
the keyboard, mouse, by adding files to VM does not solve problems.

Starting with version 3.2, VirtualBox provides a virtual USB tablet for new virtual machines by which mouse events are passed to the guest operating system.
As a result, if you are using a modern guest operating system that can handle such devices, mouse support may work out of the box, without the mouse is "done", as described below;
see chapter 3.4.1 "," CD "tab" for more information.
Otherwise, when the virtual machine sees only the standard devices, PS / 2 mouse and keyboard, because the operating system in a virtual machine does not "know" that it is not running on a real computer, it is expected
that the exclusive control of the keyboard and mouse.
But this is not the case, because if you do not use a virtual machine in full screen mode, your VM needs to share keyboard and mouse with other applications and possibly other VMs on the host.
As a result, at the start of the guest operating system is installed before installing the add-ons and guests (we'll explain that in a minute), only one of the two - your VM or the rest of your computer - can "own"
the keyboard and mouse. You will be the second mouse that will always be confined to the limits of the VM window.
Basically, you can start the virtual machine by clicking inside it.
To return to the ownership of the keyboard and mouse to the host operating system, VirtualBox reserves a special key on the keyboard for themselves.
"The key host" The default is the right control key on your keyboard;
on the host Mac, the default host key is the left Command key.
You can change this default in the VirtualBox Global Settings, see Section 1.15, "Global Settings".
In any case, the current setting of the host key is always displayed in the lower right corner of the virtual machine, this should be forgotten:
In detail, all this translates to the following:
The keyboard is owned by the VM if the window on the desktop virtual machine host has the keyboard focus (and then, if you have multiple open windows in the guest operating system, as well as a window that has the focus in
the VM). This means that if you want to type in your VM, click on the title bar of the window VM first.
To release ownership of the keyboard, press the host (as explained above, usually right Ctrl key).
Note that the virtual machine has a keyboard, some keystrokes (such as Alt-Tab, for example) will no longer be perceived by the host, but instead will go to the guest.
After pressing the host to re-enable the host keyboard, all keystrokes will go through the host again, so that the sequences such as Alt-Tab will no longer reach the visitors.
For technical reasons, may not be possible to VM that all the data from the keyboard, even if it does own keyboard.
An example of this is the sequence Ctrl-Alt-Del on computers running Windows or single key first captured by other applications on X11 hosts as "key backlight control mouse pointer" is GNOME functionality.
Mouse is owned by the VM until you click in the VM.
Host cursor disappears and the mouse pointer will lead guests instead of the normal mouse pointer.
Note that mouse ownership is independent of the keyboard layout: Even after you click on the title bar to be able to type into the VM, the mouse is not necessarily owned by the VM yet.
To release ownership of the mouse by the VM, also press the host.
As this behavior can be inconvenient, VirtualBox provides a set of tools and drivers for guest systems called "additives" that make VM keyboard and mouse activity much more seamless.
Most importantly, the box will get rid of the second "guest" mouse pointer and do your job mouse pointer directly to the guest host.
This will be described later in the chapter 4, Additives.
1.8.3.
Typing special characters
Operating systems expect certain key combinations to initiate certain procedures.
Some of these key combinations can be difficult to enter the virtual machine, as there are three candidates, who receives data from the keyboard: the host operating system, VirtualBox, or the guest operating system.
Which of these three keystrokes replaced depends on many factors, including the key.
Host operating systems reserve certain key combinations for themselves.
For example, it is not possible to enter Ctrl + Alt + Delete key combination, if you want to restart the guest operating system in a virtual machine, because this key combination is usually wired to the host operating
system (both Windows and Linux, this axis) and pressing this key combination will therefore reboot the host.
In addition, Linux and Solaris hosts that use the X Window System, Ctrl + Alt + Backspace normally resets the X server (to restart the entire graphical user interface for stuck).
As the X server intercepts this call by pressing it usually restart the graphical user interface of the host (and kill all running programs, including VirtualBox, in the process).
Thirdly, on Linux to support virtual terminals, Ctrl + Alt + Fx (where Fx is one of the function keys F1 to F12) usually allows you to switch between consoles.
As with the Ctrl + Alt + Delete, these combinations are captured by the host operating system and therefore always switch terminals on the host.
If, however, you want to send these key combinations to the guest operating system in a virtual machine, use one of the following methods:
Use the menu items in the "Machine" virtual machine window.
You will not find "Insert Ctrl + Alt + Delete" and "Ctrl + Alt + Backspace";
effect will last only guest Linux or Solaris, however.
Special press a combination of keys from the key host (typically the right Control key), which VirtualBox will then translate the virtual machine:
Host key + Del to send Ctrl + Alt + Del (to restart the guests);
Host key + Backspace to send Ctrl + Alt + Backspace (to restart the graphical user interface on Linux or Solaris guest);
Host key + F1 (or other function keys) to simulate the Ctrl + Alt + F1 (or other function keys, or to switch virtual terminals in Linux guest).
For some other combinations of keys like Alt-Tab (to switch between open windows), VirtualBox allows you to configure whether these combinations will affect the host or guest when the virtual machine is currently in focus.
This is a global setting for all virtual machines and can be found in the "File" -> "Settings" -> "Input" -> "Auto capture keyboard".

Hi ,
thank you, but I tried all points / links  since yesterday several times , i can deinstall 5 from 6 apple softwares, i can not deinstall Apple Software Update due an issue with an MSN Software package and i have to contact the owner of the software. Is that maybe the problem ? Also, if i try connect to the itunes store there comes always the error message 42408.
I dont know what I should do...i having no more ideas, nothing is working: no connection to the itunes store, no connection to the ipod, the ipod could not read on itunes, still on the ipod display the cable with the connection sign to itunes.
I think I have to bring the ipod tomorrow to the genius bar and ask them to restore my ipod touch.
Its an nightmare.....

  • All 30 minutes my Macs (iMac/Snow Leopard, MacMini/Lion) are loosing the connection to the Windows Servers (2 Networks: Home with Home Server 2011 (Server 2008) and Office with Home Server V1 (Server 2003)).

    Hallo,
    Hello,
I run the office and at home each a Microsoft Home Server. In both networks, in addition to various Windows computers, a Mac is available.
The particular "configuration" is as follows:
    - Apple MacMini (Late 2011, as HTPC) with Lion via wifi via AVM Fritzbox 7390 to Microsoft Windows Home Server 2011 (Windows Server 2008).
    - Apple iMac (Late 2010, desktop PC) with Snow Leopard by Lan on AVM Fritzbox 7270 on Microsoft Windows Home Server V1 (Windows Server 2003)
All operating systems on current conditions with all patches and updates.
The Fritz boxes running with the latest firmware
    Now to the problem:
Both Macs are loosing every 30 minutes the contact to the server. The connection is "re-"established about 1-2 minutes later. On MacMini (HTPC), the film or music is stopped for the above period. Thereafter, the film / music goes on. With the iMac (workstation) a document loaded from the server can no longer be saved or printed.
The MacMini has shown this phenomenon directly in connection with the WHS. However, the iMac has been working about 1.5 years with no problems. This problem only occurs for about 6-9 months
Because of different WHS and OS X versions are affected and also different Fritz boxes are used and it seems to be a general problem in the interplay Windows / OS X to be present.
When the iMac is the exact date of disconnection does not occur.
With the Mac Mini, the time can however be determined relatively easily. From the Event Viewer on Windows Server is unfortunately no clear error image. At the particular time but appeared relatively often, but not always (!) In Windows Security Logs the error 4625 (Failed to log on an account) on. This would indicate a rights issue.
Searching for a solution (so far unsuccessfully, unfortunately), I stumbled over the problem of the Server Infrastructure License Services (silsvc) in Windows Small Business Server 2011 Essentials (every 30 min!). Maybe a connection?

Hi, and thank you for your reply!
My reason for not posting this in the server forum is that I suspect it is a clien issue. All my other clients connect happily to the server which leads me to believe the server is configured correctly.
Only my the two MacBook Pro's are having problems.

  • How come my brother and i can't connect in the same game online using my WET54GS5?

When i first got my WET54GS5 my brother and i could connect in the same online session using two ps2's that are both connected to the WET54GS5 which is linked up to my WRT54G V 5 router flawlessly. Now all of a sudden whenever we try to connect to the same game online the one that is already in that session gets disconnected. There have even been times where one got connected and was using the other persons settings (example: Jared and Justin log on to the same game at the same time, Jared can't connect, but Justin can however Justin is now playing as Jared's character.)We can connect to other games under the same setup just whenever we want to play in the same game we can't. It seldom works though but only like twice out of ten times. I'm wondering what the issue is here and if anyone has any suggestions on how to get us connected to the same game with no worries. And if your curious both playstation 2's are running star wars battlefront 2. Message Edited by JJbro1 on 06-17-2008 09:47 PM

Try to figure out or make sure QoS is enabled on both devices (referring to bridge and router) and set to AUTO mode or fair mode. Also ensure there is no manual settings on the PS2s for ip (this applies to most modern game systems as well)
Udated gaming systems are designed to attempt taking full advantage of bandwidth available, by enabling QoS, or similar named technology depending on the brand of the network device you will prevent your gaming system from hogging all the network bandwidth and stomping out the other game system. They will be forced to equally share the bandwidth and eliminate this kind of situation. I sometimes need 7 game systems online at once and I ran in to this problem a lot,, QoS enabled and never had it again.

  • You do not have sufficient access to your computer to connect to the selected printer

    Environment
    Print server: Windows 2008 R2 SP1
Clients: Windows XP SP3 + GPP
    Drivers:
    HP UPD PCL6 5.3.1.10527
    Intermec 7.2.2
    Ricoh UPD PS 3.9.0.0
    Xerox UPD PS 5.216.12
    Zebra 2.6.42.03
GPO Configuration - enables users to add printers/drivers from the print servers.
    Background
For the last year, we've had the 2008R2 print server set up and the clients have not had any problems connecting to the print server to add printers.
    Issue
Over the past ~3 weeks, we've gotten spurious reports from users stating they're unable to add a printer. The specific error displayed is:
You do not have sufficient access to your computer to connect to the selected printer.
It occurs for multiple vendors, so it's not a print driver specific issue.  I've personally witnessed the problem where (using a User's account) I was unable to add Printer X out of a list of 10 random printers.  2 minutes later, still logged on
as the same user, I was then able to add Printer X which doesn't make any sense since nothing had changed.
Another user logging into the same workstation will not have any problems adding the same problematic printer.  The user who had the problem can log onto a different workstation and add the same printer with no problems, so it's not a User permission
    issue either.
Most of the time running gpupdate /force and/or rebooting the box will also 'solve' the problem.
Running the group policy results wizard on a few random workstations (which have exhibited this problem in the past), shows everything appears to be properly configured/enabled related to GPOs, including the
Prevent users from installing printer drivers setting per http://support.microsoft.com/kb/259937
Has anyone else ran into this problem lately?
How does one troubleshoot this issue since I can't faithfully reproduce it on demand since it appears to resolve itself after a period of time?

Haven't found the smoking gun to this problem, but I am getting closer.
Troubleshooted another PC today which was exhibiting this problem for another user. Logged onto the PC with my User account and sure enough, received the same message for the same printer.   Fired up Sysinternals Process Monitor, but nothing useful
was captured when receiving the failure message.  There was also another Point and Print printer which was present on the workstation (i.e.
PrinterName on PrintServerName) for my User account which stated "printer cannot be removed. Access is Denied" when I tried to delete it.  Odd. Getting properties on the printer would bring up the correct info from the print server
though, so it was valid and appeared functional.
    I tried running the new
MS FixIT printing tool, but it failed in full mode with an admin account.
Next, I searched through the registry for this printername which I was unable to delete. Eventually it was found at:
    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Print\Providers\LanMan Print Services\Servers\PRINTSERVERNAME\Printers\PRINTERNAME
On a hunch, I deleted the entire PrinterName key, restarted the print spooler, and then was able to add the printer with no permission errors!  There were several more printers listed in this registry key. I tried the same steps again:
    validate receiving 'sufficient access' error.
    purge printer's registry key
    restart spooler
Able to add the same printer via point and print.
This solved the problem on half of the printers. The others added with no errors.  The printer drivers in question are from both HP and Xerox, so I doubt it's a vendor specific issue and instead Windows (unsure if XP or 2008 though).
It would appear that Windows caches the information about the printer/driver/settings/etc from the print server in CurrentVersion\Print\Providers\LanMan Print Services\Servers\PRINTSERVERNAME\Printers\PRINTERNAME ?  Why does it need to be duplicated
    in both HKLM and HKCU?
Separate PC, further exploring this printer issue and the contents of the \LanMan Print Services\Servers\PRINTSERVERNAME\Printers\ keys.  On this PC, I successfully ran the MS FixIt for Printing tool in Full mode and rebooted.  After reboot, the
System Event logged the following for multiple printers -- which should've been deleted --
    Event Type: Error
    Event Source: Print
    Event Category: None
    Event ID: 23
    Date: 4/9/2012
    Time: 5:11:48 PM

    User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM
    Computer: U-xxxxx
    Description:
Printer UH-xxxxxx failed to initialize because a suitable HP Universal Printing PCL 6 (v5.3) driver could not be found.
Yet a minute later, the updated driver was automatically installed via P&P:
    Event Type: Warning
    Event Source: Print
    Event Category: None
    Event ID: 20
    Date: 4/9/2012

    Computer: U-xxxx
    Description:
Printer Driver HP Universal Printing PCL 6 (v5.4) for Windows NT x86 Version-3 was added or updated. Files: <snip>
Sure enough, after checking the \LanMan Print Services\Servers\PRINTSERVERNAME\Printers\ keys, all of those printers which logged EventID 23 were still present!  This time, I manually deleted the entire \LanMan Print Services\Servers\PRINTSERVERNAME\Printers\
subkeys, rebooted the PC, logged on, and those errors did not repeat.
Something strange is definitely going on with the printing subsystem on XP lately...

  • When deploy: Wizard error a connection to the deployment share could not be made "check physical connection"

    Hello everybody,
yet another issue with deploying a masterdisk. I will give you a short explanation of the situation.
I need to deploy Windows 8.1 PRO x86.
Using: Microsoft Deployment Workbench Microsoft Version: 6.2.5019.0
    1. Reference PC: Windows 8.1 PRO x86 is installed on ORACLE Virtual Box.
    2.  I installed  MDT on my workstation Windows 7 x64, where "C:\DeploymentShare\Windows8" is located.
    3. To change the Unattended.xml file, I have second ORACLE Virtual Box with
Windows 8.1 PRO x86 with MDT, which connected to the DeploymentShare of Windows 7 x64.
     - The reason is because the Reference PC is x86 and the Unattended.xml file can be changed only if MDT is installed on x86 Windows, otherwise it is not possible.
    The image capture is successful.
Then I create bootable USB device using rufus-1.4.12.exe. I use: C:\DeploymentShare\Windows8\Boot\LiteTouchPE_x86.iso
I use a real PC (not virtual machine) and when the deployment starts
    I see:
1 Welcome screen, where I select: Run the deployment wizard to  install a new operating system.
    2. The next screen is an error screen where I see the error:
    "Wizard error
A connection to the deployment share (\\ComputerName\C\DeployemntShare )could not be made
DHCP Lease was not obtained for any Networking devices!
    Possible cause: Check physical connection
I am relatively new with MDT.
Any suggestions are more than welcome.

    Nick,
    Thank you for the answer!
Yesterday, I figured out that I need to create an offline bootable disk.
The issue is caused, because creating a bootable disk with rufus.exe include only the ISO file and not the WIM file. That is the reason why during OS installation process it asks me for the shared folder...

  • MDT 2013 - A Connection to the deployment share could not be made - DHCP Lease was not obtained

First, let me give you some context:
Framework: MDT 2013 with MS SDK 7.1
Task Sequence: Standard Client TS with sysprep and capture.
Target workstation (build workstation): VM Guest on ESX 5.5 host, 8 vCPU, 8GB RAM, LSI Logic SAS Controller, E1000 NIC, SSD DAS
Behavior: The VM loads and installs the OS fine in PE, VM boots into OS successfully and resumes the TS, after the first system reboot, the error message occurs and it reads:
A connection to the deployment share (\\*********\DeploymentShare$) could not be made. DHCP Lease was not obtained for any Networking device! Possible Cause: Check physical connection. Retry:...... Cancel:.....
While observing this error, I didn't notice the NIC hadn't completely initialized and obtained an IP yet (network adapter icon in systray), additionally hitting retry after the NIC was initialized resumed the TS.
This behavior reoccurs with several subsequent reboots until a few more applications (Citrix Receiver, VMware Tools) with services are installed which seem to then slow the system boot-up time and then allows the TS to start after the NIC has initialized.
From several posts I've read on this forum, this particular behavior was alleviated by a "wait for IP lease" mechanism built into the TS engine which was introduced in MDT 2010 SP1, I wasn't able to find any other confirmation whether
this mechanism is still in effect with MDT 2013. Another point worth mentioning from several other posts I was able to find is that this behavior appears to manifested itself on target workstations with SSDs, which would somewhat explain the faster
TS load time vs waiting for an IP lease. I've also tried to replicate this behavior in a non-SSD and low-performance VM environment and I wasn't able to replicate it.
My question: Does anyone else have experienced this behavior with MDT 2013 and if so, how did you resolve it? Or is this a bug?

I have this issue intermittently as well.  For us, it coincided with the deployment of IP phones, which meant PoE switches all around.  However, the problem persisted even after we turned off PoE to the ethernet ports from which we normally PXE
    boot.
As this issue has been intermittent, I've backburnered it.  When it does happen, I just wait for the lease to arrive then rerun the wizard.
Thanks for the feedback, that's true the TS can be resumed manually once the lease has occured but it defeats the purpose of an automated TS if I have to keep an eye on it and intervene if I need to.
The network guys here recommended putting wireshark or network monitor on it and figuring out just what the heck is going on.  Basically, what Keith Garner said.  They also disabled PortFast awhile back to see if that made any difference, and it did
    not.

  • Connection to the deployment share could not be made (DFS share, works fine on site A, not on Site B)

I'm trying to isolate this problem with MDT..., unable to find a solution matching this error.
We have two sites, with a DFS replica between the servers, which works fine.
    Server A: Windows 2012 R2 standard
Windows Automated Installation Kit for Windows 7
    MDT 2012, Update 1
    WDS configured for PXE boot
    Distributed File Share
    Server B: Windows 2008 R2 Standard
    MDT 2012, Update 1
    WDS configured for PXE boot
    Distributed File Share
The local path on both servers is on E:\DFS-Deploymentshare
    The DFS path is \\domain.com\it\deploymentshare
When deploying on Site A, the deployment run smooth without problems.
When deploying on Site B, the deployment fails to create connection to the share.
A connection to the deployment share (\\domain.com\it\deploymentshare) could not be made.
Connection OK. Possible cause: invalid credentials.
Pressing F8, to reach a command prompt. "ipconfig" shows an IP-address. I can PING the deployment server. I can mount the Deployment share using "net use" and providing the username/password added in the bootstrap.ini and "retry"
in the message box and the deployment continues.
In the BDD log i get this timeout:
<![LOG[Unable to connect to \\domain.com\it\deplomentshare. Sleeping for 5 seconds.
<![LOG[<Message containinng password has been suppressed>
    <![LOG[Access is denied.
However everything is the same both in site A and B so this seems very strange!
The complete system has worked this way before.
    Bootstrap.ini contains:
    DeployRoot=\\domain.com\it\deploymentshare
    UserDomain="domain"
    UserID="mdt-account"
    UserPassword="password"
I've been trying all I can think of, but Im still faced with this error and to keep in mind the same share working on another site.

Ok, so by the sounds of it, there is something wrong with the share permissions (especially if your account works fine but the MDTserviceaccount does not work even when part of Domain Admins).
So you need to do the following:
    Start in Site A:
Boot into WinPE on a workstation in site A
    Ping server-a
    Ping server-b
    Run "net use * \\server-a\deploymentshare$ /user:DOMAIN\MDTserviceaccount"
Type in the password for MDTserviceaccount when prompted
Browse to the newly mapped drive and list the files/folders
Make sure you can see the relevant MDT folders, like Applications, Out-of-Box Drivers, etc
If all that works, then you can move to site B
    Start in Site B:
Boot into WinPE on a workstation in site B
    Ping server-a
    Ping server-b
    Run "net use * \\server-b\deploymentshare$ /user:DOMAIN\MDTserviceaccount"
Type in the password for MDTserviceaccount when prompted
Browse to the newly mapped drive and list the files/folders
Make sure you can see the relevant MDT folders, like Applications, Out-of-Box Drivers, etc
By going through all of the above, you should be able to see where the problem lies.
If all of the above works with no problems, then you have the details incorrectly specified in the BootStrap.ini (or possibly CustomSettings.ini). Confirm that you have the following specified in the relevant ini file:
    DeployRoot
    UserID
    UserDomain
    UserPassword
You can have a look in the help file if you need to confirm that these properties are configured correctly. Look under
Toolkit Reference - Properties - Property Definition in the help file.
Both Site A and Site B is successfully
I have changed the Password of deployuser to test if it is correct. and i have copy/pasted the password into the DC when changing the password.
I have tested the password by logging on to a client-pc with the deployuser as username and the temp password "Pa$$w0rd" successfully.
Both UserID, UserDomain and UserPassword is entered after the help file for Property Definition.
Please see the Bootstrap.ini and Customsettings.ini (NB! Servernames, Domainname and Passwords are fictive.)

  • Using Hyper-V 2012 r2, connecting to the console results in: A certification authority could not be contacted for authentication.

I'm having some trouble with authentication to guests from my Hyper-V console.
If I try to connect from the Hyper-V Manager to the console of any guest, I get the error:
"A certification authority could not be contacted for authentication. If you are using a Remote Desktop Gateway with a smart card, try connecting to the remote computer using a password. For assistance, contact your system administrator or technical support."
I'm not using an RDG and smart card.
I have 2 virtual networks. The first is Production, the second is Isolated. Production has 2 NICs attached to the Production LAN, the second has 2 NICs in our DMZ. The host is a member server of the production domain. I can use MSTSC from the LAN or the DMZ
to gain access to each Guest and the Host.
The issues start if I try "Connect" from Hyper-V Manager in an attempt to use the console of any Guest. Each attempt fails with the above error. If I use an incorrect password, I get a different error: "The credentials that were used to connect
to {Server FQDN} did not work. Please enter new credentials."
Taking a look at the the event logs, I can see the session successfully authenticating to the Guest (4776 Credential validation and 4624 Logon), and the fact I get a different error if I enter an incorrect password show I get some way along the line. However
if I take a look at the logs on the Host, however I get:

The authentication information fields provide detailed information about this specific logon request.
            - Transited services indicate which intermediate services have participated in this logon request.
            - Package name indicates which sub-protocol was used among the NTLM protocols.
            - Key length indicates the length of the generated session key. This will be 0 if no session key was requested.
Which looks to me like a blank authentication request is being sent? (I've not deleted any machine/domain names, they're just not present)
Any suggestions? Do you think I'm barking up the wrong tree?

  • "unable to connect to the database. retrying"

    Hi,
I have ZFD4 on a NW6 server, and have not had the required ammount of time
to implement in full and work on it...
However, It was installed a while ago, and was working fine and left
    running.
I cannot get any Inventory/scan data from any of the workstation objects
though. In Console 1, it tells me to Configure DB. If I try this, it gives
the error cannot connect to DB.
On the console, the Inventory service reports "unable to connect to the
    database. retrying..."
How do I resolve this? The Sybase adaptive server anywhere 7.0.2.15 is up
    and running...
    HELP!
    TIA

The Windows NT 4 workstation contains registry settings

From a discussion with the Unix DBA team we concluded that this

Does anyone happen to have a tutorial on deploying Oracle Forms

Which Unix Developer 6 Server environment variables do I have to
set under Unix for deployment of forms 6.0 on the web?.

"NoRouteToHostException" => This looks like routing issues through the proxy server.
You can involve network admin to take care of the settings at proxy , to allow connections through the proxy server.

  • WRT120N won't connect to the internet

COX cable was out yesterday doing some work outside our apartment building. Now, our CISCO LinkSYS WRT120N won't work. I was working before COX cable came out and has been working without problem for the past two years.
When I plug the harddrive into slot 1 in the back of the router, "4" lights up. When I plut it into slot 4, "1" lights up. When I plug it into slot 2, "3" lights up, and when I plug it into slot 3, "2" lights up.
I tried the router software, but when I reach the plug the router in step, the soft ware returns after a couple minutes and says it cannot locate the router, even though the router lights are on.
Plugging our internet cable into our hard drive directly allows us to connect to the Internet (which is how I am able to post this message.)
What can I do to get my router working again?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

If it asking for the firmware upgrade through "Recovery Tool" then download the firmware from the link: http://homesupport.cisco.com/en-us/support/routers/WRT120N  . The file that you will download will in .bin extension. After doing the firmware upgrade follow the steps:
    # Locate the reset button at the back or bottom of your router.  Using a pen or a paper clip, press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds. Observe the Power LED on the router while pressing the button.  It should blink or flash as an indication that the router is properly resetting.
    # Unplug the router from the power outlet for 30 seconds.  Plug it back and wait for the power LED to be solid.
After doing with the procedure open up the browser and on the address bar type 192.168.1.1 it should open up the Router setup page.
Now from here you need to follow the procedure as mentioned in the prior post.

  • No updates unless clients are connected to the Internet.

I'm fairly new to this, so please forgive me if my terminology is off.  I've just come into a new organization and don't really know much about how everything is laid out yet (first week here).  The other IT guys throughout the organization have
been attempting to set up WSUS at three separate locations. Their first plan was to set up a central WSUS at a single location and have the updates be pushed out over the VPN. This did not work for them, so they decided to set up a WSUS server at each location.
To make a long story short, one location is working without issues, but at another location's workstations are not updating via WSUS unless they are connected to the Internet. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

WSUS can be implemented a number of ways. One of the methods, is to use WSUS only for the approvals but update files are downloaded from microsoftupdate.com.
Your scenario sounds a little like that.
you should check the windowsupdate.log of a few client machines, which should reveal a lot about what's happening.
You should also check the configuration on each of the WSUS servers, to determine the upstream/downstream/autonomous/replica status of each WSUS, and, each will have a configuration setting for "where to store update files" (store updates locally).

  • Switched from DSL to Cable, Can't connect to the internet

After switching to cable modem (Motorola SB5120 SURFboard) from DSL, I can't connect to the internet using my airport express. Everything is green - modem and airport, and the signal on my computer looks like I have full access, but there is a scrolling message... looking for PPPoe host. I have unplugged everything and restarted per the instructions on this site, but get the same result every time. My computer connects just fine using direct connection to the modem. I saw a download for a firm ware update for the express, but don't know how to apply that, either. Any help out there?
    Thanks!

Hello mom2gr82. Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
Let's double-check your AirPort Express Base Station's (AX) settings...
AirPort Express Base Station Setup (AX) w/High-Speed Cable Modem
Perform a "factory default" reset of the AX
    o (ref: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=108044)
    Modem/Router Power ReCycling
o Power-off the Cable modem, AX, & computer(s); Wait at least 30 minutes.
o Power-on the Cable modem; Wait at least 15 minutes.
o Power-on the AX; Wait at least 5 minutes.
    o Power-on the computer(s)
    Setup the AX
Connect to the AX's wireless network, and then, using the AirPort Admin Utility, try these settings:
    AirPort tab
o Base Station Name: <whatever you wish or use the default>
o AirPort Network Name: <whatever you wish or use the default>
o Create a closed network (unchecked)
    o Wireless Security: Not enabled
    o Channel: Automatic
    o Mode: 802.11b/g Compatible
    Internet tab
    o Connect Using: Ethernet
    o Configure: Using DHCP
    o WAN Ethernet Port: Automatic
    Network tab
    o Distribute IP addresses (checked)
o Share a single IP address (using DHCP & NAT) (enabled)
Once you verified that you can get Internet access for all of your computers, you should secure your wireless network. To do so, I suggest that you make these changes:
    Change Wireless Security
o Wireless Security: WPA Personal or WPA2 Personal
o Encryption Type: WPA and WPA2
Base Station Options - WAN Ethernet Port
    o Enable Ethernet Port (checked)
    o Enable SNMP Access (unchecked)
    o Enable Remote Configuration (unchecked)
o Enable Remote Printer Access (unchecked)
