VMM Agent is not monitored by OPSMANAGEr

Hello Sir,
Could you please help us to fix this issue:"VMM Agent is not monitored by OPSMANAGEr"
From few agents we are getting the above alert. When we check the agent status in administration==> Agentmanaged it is showing as healthy.
We have tried the below steps on the agent server but no luck.
Restarted VMM Agent Service
Restarted SCOM agent service.
I have gone through the below blog:
https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/systemcenter/en-US/103d93a8-be24-4c30-8061-428da07369fe/scom-2012-alert-system-center-2012-virtual-machine-manager-vmm-agent-monitored-by-opsmgr?forum=virtualmachinemgrproscintegration
Instead of disabling the alert, please let us know is there any work around to fix.

  • All Agents Greyed Out or Not Monitored

    Hello,
I am running SCOM 2012 R2.  All of my clients were re-imaged (Over 500) during the summer.  Each image that was created had the SCOM 2012 R2 Agent installed.  The images were installed on all of my clients.  Now, most of the clients are
listed as greyed out or not monitored.  The server has Event Log entries of the following:
Operations Manager has received a connection from a system running an older version of Operations Manager
None of my clients are running an older version of the agent.  What's also new is that I cannot tell if my clients are turned on or not.  The clients that are green are always green.  Even when they are powered off, they are never grey
in the console.  Even after I ping them or refresh.  They always stay green.  Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello,
I deleted the Health Service State folder and I modified the DB so they are remotely manageable.  Now I am trying a repair.  But what I dont understand is why the healthy clients do not show when they are turned off?  They normally go from
green to grey.  I've tried a ping and a refresh and I cannot get them to go grey.

  • Deploy agent - system not being monitored

    SCOM 2012 SP1
Have a Windows 2003 server Sp2 that was in a trusted domain.  We removed it from trusted domain and added it into our primary domain.  Everything is working properly on server in primary domain.  Pushed OpsMgr agent to computer and it installed
successfully.  We are seeing in security log success audit of logon/logoff of service account used.  In the OPSMGR event log on server we are seeing event 20070 and 21016.  We then get event 21023 indicating no configuration from Mgt Group.
I can ping, nslookup and utilize all other components install on this server except OpsMgr.  I did this on another server without issue.
I did a repair and issue is still present.
    Ideas?

  • VMM 2012 R2: error 410 / 0x80070001 when adding a new Hyper-V host. VMM Agent won't install automatically (status 1603)

I have several Windows Server 2012 R2 hosts. The OS is freshly installed, no roles/3d party software besides Hyper-V role). I also have a freshly installed VMM 2012 R2 server. They all are in the same AD domain. I want to manage those Hyper-V hosts
with this VMM instance, but I have troubles connecting those hosts to VMM.
Whenever I try to add a Hyper-V host in the VMM console, the process is stopped almost immediately after it starts. The failing step is "1.2 Install Virtual Machine Manager Agent". The final error message is as follows:
    Error (410)
    Agent installation failed on XXX.
    Incorrect function (0x80070001)
    Recommended Action
Try the operation again. If the problem persists, install the agent locally and then add the managed computer.
If I try to install the agent manually copied from the VMM host (C:\Program Files\Microsoft System Center 2012 R2\Virtual Machine Manager\agents\amd64\3.2.7634.0
as of now) by just clicking on its MSI file in Windows Explorer (and agreeing to the Windows prompt to run it with elevated privileges), the installation fails as well with "Installation success or error status: 1603." in the
    server Application log.
The only way I found to install the agent is to run the installation from command prompt with elevated privileges. In this case the installation finishes successfully, and I can add the host to VMM by marking the "Reassociate the host" checkbox
    in the VMM wizard.
Why is it so? Isn't the agent supposed to install without manual intervention? As I recall, I had no such problem with previous versions of Windows Server and VMM.

I brought up the share because it is off by default with Hyper-V Server as well as a Core installation.  Regardless of the Firewall policy involved.
Maybe, but I don't work with pure Hyper-V and Core servers. I have a full-fledged Windows Server 2012 R2 Datacenter.
You're correct that File Server role is not enabled by default, this is my mistake. I open SMB-IN port manually (with the help of a group policy), and Windows considers it to be am equivalent of the enabled File Server role. Nonetheless, ADMIN$ share is
always accessible in my environment (and without it, for example, I wouldn't be able to remotely install things like SCOM Agent which installs without a glitch). Just in case I manually installed the File Server role, and it didn't help.
What you say about multihomed servers is interesting. The servers in question do have multiple network interfaces, but at the time I tried to install the VMM Agent only one of them (a designated host management / network access interface) had a real IP address.
Two other interfaces were non-configured (I apply a virtual switch configuration after the VMM Agent is installed). Just in case I disabled them when tried to install the VMM Agent remotely on the last host, and the installation still failed immediately
after start. Anyways, after the VMM Agent is installed manually the host can be normally re-associated with VMM, so it's doubtful that I have a network issue.
And, of course, there is no 3d-party software on the hosts (no antiviruses/firewalls in particular) except the EMC Unisphere Host Agent (a piece of software necessary for connecting a host to an EMC storage system) and networking drivers. Actually,
this is a pure Microsoft environment.
So I still believe that is has something to do with the Windows Installer inability to configure Windows Firewall policy after being invoked from Windows Explorer with a double-click on a MSI file. But I don't know how to strictly confirm it.

  • Error (2931) VMM is unable to complete the request. The connection to the VMM agent on the virtualization server (host.domain.local) was lost.

    Experts,
kindly advice for this error when create vm from a templates, while i'm not having this issue when create the vm to another host from the same templates,
firewall is disabled and no antivirus on the host.
The network and the ping is very stable, and the WS-Management service is running on the host,
    Host  : windows server 2012 R2
    VMM : 2012 R2 3.2.7895.0
VMM updated from RU2 to RU5
    Error (2931)
VMM is unable to complete the request. The connection to the VMM agent on the virtualization server (host.domain.local) was lost.
    Unknown error (0x80338029)
    Recommended Action
Ensure that the Windows Remote Management (WS-Management) service and the VMM agent are installed and running and that a firewall is not blocking HTTPS traffic.
This can also happen due to DNS issues. Try and see if the server (ms-lab-01.eccsolutions.local) is reachable over the network and can be looked up in DNS. You can ping the virtualization server from VMM management server and make sure that the
IP address returned matches the IP address locally obtained from the virtualization server.
If the error still persists, restart the virtualization server, and then try the operation again.

Ok  I will try another template,
and the drop happen in the customization after deploying the VHDX file as my first image.
I had this answer from partner forum. but i didn't try it yet
Backup your VMM database and then check the
    tbl_VMM_Lock table in the
VMM database to see if it has any locks listed, do this after stopping the System Center Virtual Machine Manager Service.
If there are locks listed in the tbl_VMM_Lock
table you can clear them by executing the prc_VMM_ReleaseAllLocks
    stored procedure.

  • OEM 12c  Agent does not show down status.

Hi, I'm testing EM 12c. I added host target to oem and then kill agent process on host.
When open agent page (Setup-Agent-Testingagent) see error.
Communication between the Oracle Management Service host to the Agent host is unavailable. Any functions or displayed information requiring this communication link will be unavailable. For example: deleting/configuring targets, uploading metric data, or displaying Agent home page information such as Agent to Management Service Response Time (ms).
But status agent and host show up in EM.
I try resync agent, But nothing has changed it.

    Agent is Not Running
Other target (hosts, agent) show status correctly.
    Thanks for help.

EM is showing Host is up makes sense. If I remember correct the OMS pings the host if the agent is down. This will succeed so the host will show up.
Why the agent is showing up does not make sense to me. The agent sends a signal every (default) 120 seconds. If no signal is received by the OMS the OMS sends a reverse ping to the agent. If this does not succeed the agent and its monitored targets should get the state “Agent Unreachable”.

  • How to create a package/sql agent job to monitor a table constantly

I have a situation like this: there is a log table. once a while, there will be a row inserted into this log table.  What i'd like to do is to create a ssis package/sql agent job, to monitor this log table.  As soon as a new row got inserted
into the log table, do something process it (process time might be as long as a few minutes).  Timing is quite important here.  I'd like to make sure the new row get processed as soon as it got inserted into the log table (so I don't like the ideas
to schedule the sql agent job to run every 5 minutes, or something like that).  What is the best way to achive this?  Thanks a lot in advance!
    Tim

    Hi,
There is one System Stored Procedure: dbo.sp_Start_job
Which excepts values are like :-
      @job_name    sysname          = NULL,
      @job_id      UNIQUEIDENTIFIER = NULL,
@error_flag  INT              = 1,    -- Set to 0 to suppress the error from sp_sqlagent_notify if SQLServerAgent is not running
@server_name sysname          = NULL, -- The specific target server to start the [multi-server] job on
@step_name   sysname          = NULL, -- The name of the job step to start execution with [for use with a local job only]
@output_flag INT              = 1     -- Set to 0 to suppress the success message
First Create one Trigger on your table which call above Store Procedure
    Trigger is look like below:-
    ALTER TRIGGER dbo.MyTrigger
        ON  dbo.MyTable
        AFTER INSERT
    AS
        BEGIN
            SET NOCOUNT ON;
            DECLARE @MyTableTypeTVP AS MyTableType;
            INSERT INTO @MyTableTypeTVP(job_name, job_id, @error_flag ,@server_name,@step_name,@output_flag)
            SELECT 'Your JOb Name',generate UNIQUEIDENTIFIER,1,'Localhost','Any Step if',1
            EXEC [dbo].[sp_start_job] @MyTableTypeTVP;
        END

  • Replication agent has not logged a progress

    Hi expert,
I have problem with my transactional replication.
Below details info of my SQL Server.
    OS = Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise
SQL Server = MS SQL Server 2008 R2
Two Servers (by the way I'm using Hyper-V VM)
    1. SQL-1 is the publisher
    2. SQL-2 is the subscriber
Right now I have this error message
The replication agent has not logged a progress message in 10 minutes. This might indicate an unresponsive agent or high system activity. Verify that records are being replicated to the destination and that connections to the Subscriber, Publisher, and Distributor
    are still active.
From replication monitor it was the Snapshot Agent that having this error.
Meanwhile Log Reader Agent status is 'running' with no error.
How to troubleshoot this error message, for me to reactivate my replication.
Let me know if you need further information/log.
    Thanks in advance,
    Afira Imra

This means the replication agent has not communicated to the replication subsystem for 10 minutes or whatever is set in your heartbeat interval.
use sp_helpdistributor_properties in your distribution database to determine what your heartbeat interval is.
Change it to something larger by doing sp_changedistributor_property 'heartbeat_interval',20
to set it to 20 minutes.
use select * from sys.sysprocesses to identify yoru replication agent and then observer cpu and physical_io to see if they are changing. This will indicate it it is hung or blocked.
I find that during index creation you will get this message a lot.

  • SCOM 2012 R2 & Exchange Server 2010 SP3 - Mailbox services not monitored

Having done everything depicted in Exchange Server 2010 MP I still have trouble with some Exchange services - they are in not monitored state (five days passed):
Mailbox All Database Services - Default-First-Site-Name
    Mailbox Database Service - Management - test.local
    Mailbox Database Service - PublicFolders - test.local
    Mailbox Database Service - Users - test.local
Mailbox Many Database Service - Default-First-Site-Name
    OfflineAddressBook Service - Default-First-Site-Name
Why is this happening? Since monitoring exchange mailbox databases is one of the most important tasks SCOM should be doing I assume something wrong is going on here. However there are no errors or alerts in SCOM console nor in OpsMgr
    log on Exchange server itself.

    Hi There,
Did you install the Microsoft Exchange monitoring correletion service while importing the Exchange 2010 management pack ?
Does your MS have RMS Emulator role ? As many alerts in the Exchange 2010 MP are targetted to Root management server class.
Also did you configure Test mailboxex and stuff post Exchange 2010 Import ?
Did you analyse the Ops manager Event logs in the MS and Agent ? Can you post the critical and Warnign events here.
Also is Agent proxy enabled ?
Also is the Action account of the Agents System or Domain account ?

  • SCVMM with HyperV (Agent Communication is blocked, Virtualization software or VMM agent is unsupported)

    Hi,
    I just installed SCVMM 2012.
I'm getting the following warnings after adding my failover hyperv clusters in SCVMM.
"Agent communication is blocked, Virtualization software or VMM agent is unsupported"
Recommended action is, Update the agent of the virtualization software and try again.
    Questions:
    1. Where do I find the current version of the agent installed?
    2. Where do I get the latest version of agent to update?
    3. How do I update the agents on my failover hyperv clusters.
    Request help.
    Thanks,
    Kiran

    Hi Karen ,
This is the problem i think you posted on the upper side.
You can install agent manually from your vmm server ,

    copy vmmagent.msi to target cluster.
Run Command prompt with administrative priviledge,
at command prompt c:\VMMAgent.msi (Enter) where the vmmagent.msi is.
But if the account is not in local administrator group and VMM User Roles, your error will go on.

  • SC 2012 R2 - Operations Manager - All servers except Management server show Not Monitored

    Hi all,
I have installed System Centre 2012 R2 - Operations Manager and configured on our Domain and running without a problem. I used the VHD available here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=40844
I have created a single VM called VM1 and installed Windows Server 2012 R2. VM1 has also been joined to our domain.
The management packs for Server 2012 R2 have been downloaded to the SC2012 OM.
I have discovered and added in VM1 server to the OM Server. I can see the agent running in VM1 (Microsoft Monitoring Agent) but it always shows as "Not monitored".
I have restarted both servers, found the guide regarding "Greyed out or Not monitored" but the steps outlined have not resolved the issue.
The account used in the test domain to install and run the service is a Domain Admin account. The test domain network also disabled the firewall on all member servers.
I have stopped all services on the OM server, renamed the "Health Service State" folder as suggested but nothing has resolved the issue.
Could anyone please help me? If more information is needed I would be happy to provide it.
    Thanks in advance,
    Graham

    Thank you all. After coming into the office today I checked the event logs on VM1. All afternoon I had been getting 4 events every 15 minutes;
Three x 21023 - OpsMgr has no configuration for management group SCOM12 and is requesting new configuration from the Configuration Service
And one error, 20070 The OpsMgr Connector connected to SCOM12.test.local, but the connection was closed immediately after authentication occurred.  The most likely cause of this error is that the agent is not authorized to communicate with the
server, or the server has not received configuration.  Check the event log on the server for the presence of 20000 events, indicating that agents which are not approved are attempting to connect.
However at 00:04, I can see an event log 21019 - OpsMgr has returned to communicating with it's primary hostSCOM12.test.local and since then regular Health Service logs.
I checked in OM and now it is showing as Healthy and monitored - I guess this just needed a lot of time to configure itself? Is this normal behaviour?
I also checked VM1 TCP 5723 which it says was not open (the firewall is off on the server however it is working in OM.
    PS C:\PSScripts> Test-Port -computer VM1 -port 5723 -tcp
    Server   : VM1
    Port     : 5723
    TypePort : TCP
    Open     : False
Notes    : Connection to Port Timed Out
Thanks again for your help. If it goes again I shall create a new post.

  • SCCM 2012 DB servers showing as Not Monitored

    Hi,
    SCCM 2012 MP version 5.0.7804.1000 on SCOM 2012 SP1.
SCCM database servers are showing as not monitored. I can see three entries in Servers and Site System Roles. SCOM has successfully discovered entry for each SQL node and the SQL cluster name, however they are not monitored.
    Checked documentation/online forums/blogs, but couldn't figure out.
All gents are running as Local System
    Proxy enabled on all servers
All rules/monitors/discovery are currently default settings.
Recycled SCOM Agent on these nodes, with no luck.
Do the Run As Account need some permissions? Which one and what permissions?
    Thanks, Harry :-)

The SCCM 2012 Management Pack did not support low privilege accounts, so this means – the SCOM Agent on the SCCM 2012 server
MUST be running as Local System, and
    not with a service account.
    http://msandbu.wordpress.com/2012/04/23/monitoring-sccm-2012-via-scom-2012/
Also check if you have Antivirus that you allow SCOM Application and ports in exception rule. Try to disable antivirus and check if you can monitor using SCOM.
