VMM integration - management packs outdated

Hi,
I am unable to get SCOM integration up and running again.
The Rollup Pack 3, which is installed on our VMM server, doesn't include the newest management packs (that's how it looks like at least). I have ran the SQL script but it keeps giving me this error:
Error (11822)
Management pack Microsoft.SystemCenter.VirtualMachineManager.2012.Discovery version 3.2.7510.0 is incompatible with this version of Virtual Machine Manager
Recommended Action
Use Repair-SCOpsMgrConnection cmdlet to import version 3.2.7672.0 of the Microsoft.SystemCenter.VirtualMachineManager.2012.Discovery management pack onto your Operations Manager server, and then retry the operation.
The Repair-SCOpsMgrConnection is not recognized but Get-SCOpsMgrConnection does work.
I can't find any download link to these newest management packs either.
Please help!
Thanks!

The versions are still 3.2.7510.0, but I got a little further I think, but man, SCOM is a difficult product.
Somehow, I managed to get the newest MP versions back from another VMM server. So I tried to import these on the SCOM server but then I can't import the MPs:
Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager Library could not be imported.
If any management packs in the Import list are dependent on this management pack, the installation of the dependent management packs will fail.
Database error. MPInfra_p_ManagementPackInstall failed with exception:
Database error. MPInfra_p_ManagementPackInstall failed with exception:
Could not allocate space for object 'dbo.EntityTransactionLog'.'PK_EntityTransactionLog' in database 'OperationsManager03' because the 'PRIMARY' filegroup is full. Create disk space by deleting unneeded files, dropping objects in the filegroup, adding additional files to the filegroup, or setting autogrowth on for existing files in the filegroup.
And every MP gives somewhat the same error.
Also, deleting the management packs first also fails
The selected management pack cannot be deleted. This might be because it is currently being deleted or it has already been deleted. If you think this message is in error, try again later.
Am I getting somewhere or am I far from success?

  • A note on Setup Manager - Application Change Management Pack

    Hi All,
This is Mugunthan, Development manager for iSetup and Setup Manager. I am happy to begin my note with the launch of Application Change Management Pack 3.1. For those who are not aware of Application Change Management Pack, it is a new product built on top of Oracle Enterprise Manager and comprises of three major modules namely Setup Manager, Customization Manager and Patch Manager. You can find more information about this pack here (LCM: Oracle Application Change Management Pack Setup Manager is enhanced and advanced version of iSetup on Oracle Enterprise Manager. There were good amount of reasons to re-architect iSetup on Oracle Enterprise Manager as Setup Manager.
    Why Setup Manager?
Ability to migrate to data over point releases of EBS – EBS comes up with rollup patches on top of major releases periodically. It means that you have to certify the patch before it get deployed on to production which means that setup data are to be certified again. iSetup cannot connect between 12.0.4 to 12.0.6 or 12.0.6 to 12.1.1. We have achieved the data migration for above scenarios in Setup Manager (11i to R12 is not supported in Setup Manager)
Projects – Setup Manager supports grouping of Extracts, Transforms, Loads and Reports as a single entity and can be deployed multiple times to multiple targets. The project consists of one or more tasks (of type Extract/Load/Transform/Report) and can be orchestrated according to your ends. Project execution supports scheduling which means that you can use this feature to sync up setup data between two instances at periodic internal. Projects can be shared with other users which is remarkable difference between iSetup and Setup Manager. You can share your projects with others in a combined development environment. The functional configuration data (Extracts) are stored in Oracle Enterprise Manager. This means that you can refresh EBS without losing Extracts.
Integration with Change Approval mechanism – Execution of projects is integrated with change approval mechanism which means that you can control who executes what. Also, you have fine grain access control where you can control EBS targets assigned to a user.
Offline Transformation – I would say this is the most unique feature of Setup Manager and as an implementer you would welcome this feature very much. iSetup has got very limited capability on Transformation. Here we have gone way ahead and support Transformation on almost all Setup Objects. We present you the extracted data in excel sheets. You can download the excel template and work offline. All the attribute value fields in the excel sheet are editable which means that you supply your own value. For example, you can download Operating Unit data in xls file and change operating unit “OU100” to “OU200” and upload it back to system and load to target instance. Please note that any attribute of Operating Unit setup data can be edited. Also, system has got intelligence and once you upload the excel sheet, it automatically changes all the inventory organization which belongs to “OU100” to “OU200”. This behavior can be controlled using attribute mapping which you can create in Setup Manager. Hold on, this is not the end, also you can add more operating unit in excel, say OU300 and OU400 and load it to target instance. You can delete few Operating Units from extracted data in excel sheet and load the remaining to target instance. This gives you complete flexibility to manage (add/edit/delete) functional configuration data offline. This is fantastic feature and please have a look at how it works.
Advanced Filtering – Filter support in iSetup is not flexible where you cannot use comma separated values and complex sql join conditions. Also you do not know what query is executed behind the scenes to the data. All this problems are addressed in Setup Manager 3.1. We show you the “select clause” (SQL) associated with interface and provide you a text field where you can refer the select clause and provide your own custom where criteria (SQL). This means that filter support is unlimited and you can set filter any database columns. For example, you can extract “Responsibilities/Menu” which are active or created as on yesterday. You can extract all Operating Units excluding “OU100 and OU200”. We support all filter criteria that are supported by SQL.

    Hi,
your note very interesting. Is there any other way to extract the configuration using SQL? not using Enterprise Manager? hope this will be fastest way then using GUI base.
    Thanks,

  • SCOM 2012 R2 Data Warehouse failed to request a list of management packs from SQL RS server

Hello, I get this alert can someone help me out ?
I did check the Proxy and is configured on all the MS and DW server.
    Alert Description
Data Warehouse failed to request a list of management packs which contain
reports deployed to SQL Reporting Services Server. Report deployment process
failed to request management pack list from SQL RS Server. The operation will be
    retried.
Exception 'WebException': The request failed with HTTP status 407:

Every call to the SRS generates a call to the OpsMgr SDK on Root Management
Server to check permissions (security integration). It apepars the account
the call is made under does not have access.
To figure out which account is used follow this process:
    1) Run console and click on "Run As Profiles" in the Administration space;
    2) Double-click "Data Warehouse Report Deployment Account";
    3) Click on "Run As Accounts" tab;
    4) If you have a line in the accounts which lists your Root Management
Server in the "Target Computer" column, note the account name in the "Run As
Account" column. If you do not have such a line, follow steps 2-4 for the
    "Default Action Account" profile and note the account name;
    5) Click on "Run-As Accounts" in the Administration space and double click
the account name which you got on step 4)
    6) Switch to the "Account" tab and note domain name and user name;
Once you found the account (say, DOMAIN\user) check that it is a member of
the User Role "Operations manager Report Security Administrators". If not -
add it and the process will recover automatically.

you know the more i look at this.
i think what happens is, i followed these instructions to the point of creating the runbooks
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/antoni/archive/2014/04/09/system-center-2012-service-manager-and-orchestrator-integration-example-walkthrough-start-to-finish-new-hire-provisioning-service-request.aspx#pi47623=3
and i can't use the form because there's a few required fields on the general tab and those were written to do all the work with runbooks and request offerings, so those instructions were written with the idea of never even using the form inside of service
manager, so that's why it doesn't work in my case.
so i guess the options for this are.
    1. remove the field requirements on the general tab
    2. make the general tab and the other tabs work with this management pack/form.

  • Coherence Management Pack questions

    Hi all,
I'm attempting to setup the Coherence Management Pack for OEM12c integration but have a few questions on which I can seem to get clear answers. My understanding is that there needs to be a node setup as a JMX monitoring node for the Coherence Management Pack to function. Based on my research this should ideally be a separate node used just for JMX monitoring and not used as a data cache node. So my questions are:
    1. Does this separate node used just for JMX monitoring require a Coherence license?
    2. Is this node a single point of failure (SPOF) whereby if it goes offline then Coherence monitoring also goes offline?
    3. What is the thinking/recommendation for using this single node as the JMX monitoring node for multiple environments, i.e. DEV, TST, QUA, and PRD?
    I appreciate any assistance.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
It is included in the OEM 11g installation and there is no seperate software/binaries required for Coherence Management Pack.
    Cheers,
    NJ

  • Applications Change Management Pack  3.1 is now available

E-Business Suite Applications Technology Group has recently released Application Change Management Pack (ACMP) Release 3.1 and Application Management Pack (AMP) Release 3.1.
As you might be aware, Application Change Management Pack is Oracle's offering for customers to monitor and manage Oracle E-Business Suite changes. Application Change Management Pack provides a centralized view to monitor and orchestrate changes (both functional and technical) across multiple Oracle E-Business Suite systems.
In release 3.1 Application Change Management Pack has been enhanced to provide more control and flexibility in managing Oracle E-Business Suite changes.
Some of the key distinguishing features of the new release include:
    * Change Approval Framework: Changes orchestrated through Application Change Management Pack can now be controlled through the new change approval framework in Release 3.1. Users can now be segregated as approvers across Oracle E-Business Suite system(s) and modules (Customization Manager, Patch Manager or Setup Manager). Built in notification capability enables approver(s)/requester to be intimated about the status of relevant change requests. It also provides an implicit audit trail mechanism.
    * Integrated Custom Application Management: An integrated custom applications management feature enables users to easily register new custom applications across Oracle E-Business Suite systems and also track and validate existing custom applications in a standard way. This dashboard also helps track custom objects, packages and file meta-data associated with custom applications.
    * Pre-requisite Patch Analysis: Oracle E-Business Suite patches can now be analyzed for Pre-requisites prior to deployment in the target system. The analysis also verifies whether the pre-requisites are already available (in the target system) and if not, an option to add them to the patch job.
    * Offline Transformation: For the very first time, users have the ability to download Oracle E-Business Suite setup data in Microsoft Excel document. Once downloaded, the Setup Data can be edited or new data can be entered into the worksheets. Data is validated within the Microsoft Excel file and also while uploading into Setup Manager.
    * Built-in Intelligence: Release 3.1 has numerous minor enhancements that provide necessary intelligence for a seamless change orchestration. A few examples are:
    * Automated file driver meta-data generation for new files and $Header handling
    * Customization Package impact analysis report
    * Advanced filtering options for setup migration
    * Improved Usability: Release 3.1 contains numerous usability and reporting enhancements to ensure better integration with third party systems like source control systems and to foster collaborative development.
    Licensing
Application Management Pack for Oracle E-Business Suite and Application Change Management Pack for Oracle E-Business Suite are separately licensed products. Application Management Pack for Oracle E-Business Suite Version 3.1 is a mandatory prerequisite for Application Change Management Pack for Oracle E-Business Suite Version 3.1 and should be licensed separately.
    Upgrade
This pack supersedes the Oracle Application Management Pack for Oracle E-Business Suite 3.0. An upgrade path to Release 3.1 is provided from Release 3.0 only. Therefore it is mandatory for the existing installations to be at the AMP-ACMP Release 3.0 level before upgrading to Release 3.1.

The 10gR4 version of this Siebel Transaction Diagnostic tool also adds support for Siebel 7.7 and 7.8 in addition to being compatible with Siebel 8.0. It is fully integrated with Oracle Enterprise Manager, which eliminates the need for separate install and user maintenance, and it runs on all operating system platforms that Oracle Enterprise Manager supports.

Working with the Oracle Enterprise Manager group to integrate closely with their monitoring solutions has been one of the most important advantages of joining the Oracle team. As our customers have started to use CRM more deeply as part of their business processes, CRM has quickly become Mission Critical, with 24/7 uptime requirements. Furthermore, as CRM becomes further integrated into the enterprise, knowing the status and health of the connections to multiple backend systems becomes evermore crucial.
Through our partnership with the Oracle Enterprise Manager, we aim to support true Enterprise-class CRM. We are the only solution out there with over six million live users, and we are leveraging the knowledge gained from those customers in our Enterprise Manager integration. With the real-time monitoring and diagnosis that Oracle Enterprise Manager provides, we simplify the process of managing sophisticated CRM implementations which span organizations and systems. If you have a Siebel implementation with four servers or more, or with integrations to several systems, you owe it to yourself to check out Oracle Enterprise Manager.

  • Reposting: Unable to Update Integrated Management Module (IMM) firmware

This post was originally posted on IBM’s developerWorks public forum (https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/community/forums/html/topic?id=0e1070ab-fbdc-4aa0-b9ea-3f9e391759...  The following is a summary of the post issue and the response.
    Issue:
I'm using the UpdateXpress System Pack Installer to update the Integrated Management Module (IMM) firmware on my System X server (model 7915) running Windows Server 2012 R2 Server Core.
When I run the command to install the update (ibm_utl_uxspi_9.51_winsrvr_32-64.exe up -l "\\server\share" -m 7915) and it gets to the point where it is ready to install the IMM firmware update, it fails with the message "Unable to ping through IMM" and then references a log file.  According to the log file, the system is trying to ping "169.254.95.118" which is not the pre configured static IP address on the IMM interface.
I am able to remotely ping the static IP that I've configured and I'm able to log into the IMM web interface. Everything appears to be working correctly with the IMM, except that this UpdateXpress installer is not picking up the configured IMM’s static address.
    Solution:
The UpdateXpress System Pack installer does not use the Integrated Management Module (IMM)'s interface and it will try to contact the card via the USB-LAN interface via the OS. The 169 address is the DHCP address assigned by the OS to the USB-LAN card (you should see it in a list of interfaces). When you run the installer from the OS, it will search for the card via the USB-LAN and if it's blocked it will fail.  Any security restrictions on that interface or a firewall running on it will block it.
Since you can login to the card itself, you can always just upload the IMM firmware package (.exe or .bin) to the card directly via its own Firmware Update function.  This option is on the left about halfway down the menu. All you need to do is to give it the file path to where the package is located and follow the prompts for the upload and update.
Or, you can remove the static IP you assigned and set it back to DHCP.  Typically the installer will find the interface, enable it as needed, and then an IP address will get assigned automatically.

    Hi Lawrence,
Sorry for the delay, i was Out of station. Also, one info i have to share with you, there is an another server with same version (7.5.7601)
and is getting FEP updates without any fail.

  • HP Storage Management Pack woes

I seem to be having an issue since I imported this management pack into my test environment. I'm running SCOM 2012 R2 with v3 of the Storage pack and installed the SNMP Collector on an agent managed server. However when I installed the management
pack (3PAR) and enabled the 3PAR SNMP Trap Catcher discovery I did it against the Windows Computer Class instead of the specific server I wanted to target. Now all computers running the service SNMP TRAP are showing as discovered inventory generating alerts
of OpsMgr failed to run a WMI Query for WMI events.
I tried to stop this by creating a new override for disabling the discovery and setting it to enforce. Then using the Remove-SCOMDisabledClassInstances cmdlet but it's made no difference.
I've also tried clearing the cache on individual agents.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

I had exactly the same issue this week. My DB filled up with event logs. Once I realised I had targeted the whole Windows Computer Class, I removed the enable override for the SNMP Trap Catcher object discovery, but the events continued to pile in.
In the end I had to remove all of the HP Storage v3.1 MPs and start again.
Currently having new issues now with a P2000 that is reporting in via SCOM's Native Discovery, but won't appear under the HP Storage MP. Now looking to use a collection point for the traps that ISN'T one of the SCOM Management servers, as it appears there
is a known issue with this......
On page 123 of the HP Storage MP user guide:
    Known Behavior
Unable to collect SNMP traps from HP Storage Management Pack for System Center. Microsoft has implemented a workaround from OpsMgr to move the SNMP trap collection server to a separate Management server which is not a part of Network Resource Pool/Discovery
Server. This will allow the SNMP Trap service to listen on port 162 and collect traps.
    Sheeeesh..
And just realised that ther is now a new MP called HP StoreFront Manager 4.0 which seems to effectively be the latest version of HP Storage MP:

  • VRealize Operations Management Packs for Lenovo Compute and Lenovo Network Switches

     Lenovo Systems Management Community Members:
Blue Medora is currently developing a two new and distinct VMware vRealize Operations Management Packs aimed at Lenovo datacenter technology -- a vROps MP for Lenovo Compute as well as a vROps MP for Lenovo Network Switches. Our target is to release both vROps MPs in the September timeframe. Both of the MPs will support vROps v6+. If vROps integration with Lenovo Compute and/or Lenovo Network Switches is something that is relevant to you, our product management team is very interested in talking to you about what aspects of the Lenovo-based compute and network infrastructure you like to see surfaced in vROps, models of Lenovo servers and network switches your your organization most commonly leverages, as well as any specific troubleshooting / diagnostic use cases you have around Lenovo compute and network.
Please drop us a line at [email protected] if you'd like to participate in a pre-release program for the vROps MPs for Lenovo Compute and Lenovo Network Switches.

Sorry for being a bit slow in responding. Adapting the settings for my wired ethernet adapter as rdhw suggested solved the problem. (But since I am not using any wake-on features, I simply opted to turn them off instead.)
Interestingly, I had previously looked at these settings in the BIOS and turned them off there (forgot to mention this), but it appears the Device Manager settings were overriding the BIOS settings.
So, I still find Access Connections to be slow (it will take maybe half a minute or so to figure out what is happening when I switch between wireless and wired connections), and also getting the X200 to go to sleep takes more time than it used to do (it used to go to sleep momentarily when I, say, closed the lid, whereas now it will need to think for 10-15 seconds first), but at least everything works reasonably well now.
Which is nice, and I don't want to break anything that I don't have the time to fix, so I think I will leave it at this for the time being. Thanks so much for the help (and for the prompt reply)!
