VMS Client Channel Buffering Problem

I just received my new Verizon VMS system which includes 2 client units. I hooked everything up and all was working as it should except that when watching live TV on the two client units, it will not buffer two different TV channels and allow me to switch back and forth between these two channels and rewind, fast forward or pause. It will only buffer one channel and when I switch to another, the original channels buffer is gone. I could do this on all three of my standard HD DVR boxes before swithcing to the VMS and this was a huge feature for me as I like to watch multiple shows or sporting events simultaneaously. I called support and after about 90 minutes they could find no problem or find any solution other then to send me a new VMS. The odd thing is when they looked at all of the tuners being used, tuners 3 annd 4 were never getting used. The odder thing is that it seemed to work properly on one of the client boxes until they did a cold init and then that one also stopped allowing 2 channels to be buffered.
Should I be able to buffer two seperate channels on the client boxes as well as the main VMS box or did they for some awful reasone take this feature away from the clients??

Severe buffering problems when streaming

In the past couple of days, I have begun experiencing severe buffering problems when streaming video on the web. The video plays for like 6 seconds and then it pauses for like 6 seconds and continues this pattern over and over. This problem occurs regardless of which web browser I am using. I know the problem is not caused by the internet connection because I did a speed test and it is currently operating at 12mbps. I have tried streaming video on another computer and it worked fine.

Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel or adjusting your multicast rate.
There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first. Networks that have inherent issues can be seen to work differently with different versions of the same software. You might also try moving the Apple TV away from other electrical equipment.

Duplicating de confirmation for Clients with credit problems

We are using GATP to confirmed the sales orders quantities. In the check instructions,
we are using check availability and then RBA (product substitution)
When I create a sales order for a client with credit problems the confirmed quantity
is being duplicated after releasing the order.
The steps I am following are next:
1.        VA01: create sales order (i.e: order product D 10 PC, I got 10 PC of product E confirmed because of the RBA)
2.        VKM3: Release the order
3.        VA03: display the sales order
(it duplicates the lines with confirmed quantity - i.e: I got line 10: product D 0 PC confirmed; line 11: product E 10 PC confirmed; line 12: product E 10 PC confirmed, so line 12 is repeating line 11)
We have explore any issues related to the availability check, but it seems to be a problem with the configuration of the credit processing.
Have you ever had this issue? Any recommendation to solve it?

In what case you see duplicate confirmation? in case of partial delivered order? if so check OSS note 1442425.

Maybe these layers' visibility has been disabled. That'll be the case if there's a space where there normally is an eye to the left of a layer name in Layers panel. Click the space/eye to toggle visibility.

Output channel mapping problem for surround encoder

hello, i am trying to mix a movie i made into 5.1. when i open the surround encoder, go to the audio hardware setup and try to set my output channel mapping i only get two speakers. i have a card that supports 5.1, 5.1 speakers, and get surround sound when i play a DVD. yet audition only recognizes my left and right speaker. any help on how i get my output channel mapping set correctly?

Thank you for the info, though I admit I'm still a bit confused.
My card is a creative x-fi extreme gamer. It has 3 line out jacks and one line in jack. T Oh, here it is in the manual...thats just not good enough.
But what is the surround encoder dialog box doing, if not encoding surround mixes? The manual says I can exportsurround sound from a multitrack session.

Buffering Problem?

9-10 seconds into every song, it appears there is a buffering problem as the song doesn't really skip as much as it garbles. I have updated audio drivers, Active X, deselected sound enhancer, tried small-med-large streaming buffer size, removed Musicmatch and disabled WMP playback. If anything, the problem intensified after installing updates? Any feedback?

MIRO document Number range buffering problem

Dear all,
My MIRO document number is not following the sequence. if my first 5 numbers come in a sequence, then the next 5 numbers are not coming in between. Instead, the next 5 numbers are coming. It might be due to number range buffering problem. How to find the number range object for MIRO document number range?
How to solve this?

You can search the Number Range object in T-Code: SNRO
The Number Range object for Invoice document is RE_BELEG
Go the Change Mode of the Number Range Object in SNRO, remove the No of Numbers of Buffers (by default it will be 10).
This will resolve your issue.

16:9 HD Content in Letterbox mode on 4:3 TV with VMS Client?

With the old Motorola box, when I watched 16:9 HD content on my old 4:3 non-HD TV (don't ask), I was able to watch in Letterbox mode (black bars on top and bottom). Now with the VMS Client box, HD content is reformatted for 4:3. Is there a way to watch HD content in Letterbox mode with an IPC box?

Buffering Problems on FP 10.1

I have problems viewing video on Yahoo! Video may run for 5 - 10 seconds, and then buffer for 5-10 seconds.
Windows 7 64 bit operating system
IE 8.0.7600.16358, (I open it in the 32 bit session)
FP WIN 10,1,53,64
ATI Radeon HD 4650 4GB video card.
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz CPU 9 GB RAM.

Hi, Does this happen after you have restarted your system?
Do both of your browsers see the Flash logo animation here? If so then Flash Player is working correctly. I don't use Tree so am not familiar with it. Perhaps someone else will post to your thread with more info.

Audio Buffering problem

Hi,
I am trying play a real time audio received from server. I am using custom DataSource and sourcestream to cretae player and I observed that the when the data is given to the player through the read method player is not playing the data until it reaches 2 secs(approx). Is there any to avoid this buffering?
Other observations are when the data is played from a input stream it playing iwthout any buffering. So, i it a bug or behavior? Please confirm so that we can decide on the way forward.

Downloaded the free 900+mb Grey's Anatomy season
finale.
Have many other video's from iTunes, most paid for.
They play fine, no out of sync, no apparent video
buffering problem.
This episode is, audio wise, out of sync with the
video output and the video seems as if it is

Very hard to digest.

I also regressed to iTunes 6.0.5 to determine that the 900+ mb m4v file for Greys Anatomy seems in fact corrupted.
Other iTunes tv shows play fine in both version 7 and 6.0.5.
Grey's Anatomy video stutters and the voice is out of sync with the video.
What is left for me to do?
Apparently I can not re download the m4v file as only one download is allowed. And it took several hours to download...

Access Oracle On Unix using VMS Client

Assuming you have an account on that server and firewall or other networking filters are not in the way, then you should be looking into using SSH or some other modern, secure method of remote connection. I can't imagine that any Oracle server admin would allow telnet connections. If you are not familier with SSH, it is the modern replacement for the very insecure telnet protocol. There are many good SSH tutorials on the web that should get you started.
I have no Oracle experiance so I'll leave it to someone that does to possibly suggest alternative remote connection methods that Oracle provides.

i've a buffering problem with the neue itunes 11.0.1. the voice is like a robot voice every 15 seconde. I cannot find the buffering configuration. do someone have a idea ? thanx a lot

Why is this Itunes such a pile of junk? If I restart my computer I can sometimes find the recently added music in my Itunes Library.
It would be nice to know if other people are having the same problems.

Lovefilm buffering problem

Hi – can anyone help me please? I had BT Infinity 2 unlimited installed about two weeks ago and it’s great for internet surfing as I’m getting an average of 20 - 30mbps. However when I watch Lovefilm on my Sony blu-ray player I’m getting buffering problems. The player displays the amount of mbps and it seems to go up and down wildly – from 30mbps down to about 0.5 when everything grinds to a halt. After a short time the mbps rate goes up and the film continues. It only happens during busy times, with Sunday afternoon/evening being the worst. I’ve tried using an ethernet cable to connect to the home hub but that hasn’t really helped, nor has switching it (the hub) off and on again. A friend has suggested buying a better router but I would’ve thought the BT kit would be ok. Any help/advice appreciated!

As you suggest, I'll try testing the download speed when the blu-ray player slows down to see if it's the player itself that's causing the issue - though I've checked the firmware and everything is up to date.

Missing Hardware Inventory for client - Possible database problems

I have a few workstations with SCCM clients that didn't install correctly. Once uninstalled, and later re-installed, I can't get a hardware inventory from these workstations (windows 8). In the SCCM Console on the device's client activity, Policy Request,
Heartbeat DDR, and Software Scan are all up to date. Hardware Scan remains blank. I have many other Windows 8 VMs that report accurate hardware inventory.
In the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Configuration Manager\Logs\dataldr.log, here are some of the errors:
ERROR - attempt to update non-existent row (sp = pWorkstationStatus_DATA). Invalid command:
exec dbo.pWorkstationStatus_DATA
~Cannot process MIF XXXXXXX.MIF
I've tried removing the client, deleting the client's C:\Windows\SMSCFG.ini file, and deleting the computer entry in the SCCM console. I then waited a few days, reinstalled the SCCM client on the problematic workstation, but I get the same result: Hardware
Inventory date is blank, and errors in the dataldr.log.
I've also gone into the SQL database, and queried one of the problematic machines. There was no entry in System_DATA, System_DISC, or in WorkstationStatus_DATA. I started adding records in the database tables for one problematic machine, with the help of
the dataldr.log. Whenever there was a missing entry, I would add it. I gave up after the most recent:
ERROR - attempt to update non-existent row (sp = pBROWSER_HELPER_OBJECT_DATA). Invalid command:
exec dbo.pWorkstationStatus_DATA
I did another SCCM client uninstall, and delete the smscfg.ini. I changed the hierarchy settings for managing conflicting records to "Manually resolve conflicting records" just to *see* if anything appears. After several days, nothing appears in
Monitoring\System Status\Conflicting Records.
Is there a hardware ID stored somewhere? How can fix this problem with the database?

The errors in the dataldr.log are pretty specific about what table a record is missing during an update. If SCCM needs to update a record that doesn't exist, why not create, so SCCM can update it?
When I uninstalled the client, deleted the smscfg.ini file from the client, deleted the device in SCCM, and reinstalled the client, I get a brand new ResourceID. I kept track of previous ResourceIDs, and deleted records associated with those old ResourceIDs.
Because updating a single table will not update everything that is need. Then you will get into interesting issues where the wrong ResourceID is populated for different computers.
Running the Heartbeat discovery (discovery data collection cycle) should solved your problem by create creating the PC within CM12. if it doesn't then you have a bigger issue and you need to dig deeper into the logs to find out why.
I would start by tracking the DDR fro the computer to the MP then to the inboxes and finally into the db. This will get you started.
