And what is the difference between vmstat and prstat since the purpose is to check the server load??

1) psrinfo or psrinfo -v, prtdiag also works on most platforms if you have a recent enough version of Solaris.
2) prstat shows what processes you have on the systems, how much memory they consume, the amount of threads and other things, in other words it returns statistics about the processes of the system.
vmstat shows the statistics of the virtual memory subsystem, such as paging, memory statistics, disk I/O and kernel stats.

Sorry to reopen an old post, but I've just purchased a 2nd hand late-2013 iMac (or so thats what the seller said).

How to:Create a blank document, and how to make a font available for editin

Two questions:
1: How do I create a new PDF document? All I see is to create from an existing document or scanner. If I'm creating something from scratch, do I really have to load an existing PDF, delete everything and then start my new document? That's the way it seems, which is nuts!
2: I have tried to edit the text in a document. I did not not create it, but it is open to editing. The font used in the document is "Arial", a very common font that comes with windows. The font is installed and I use it all the time in other Adobe apps. However when I try to edit a ducument using that font, I get a message that "the font is unavailable for editing" and it substitutes some random font. So why is it not available, and how do I make it available?

It will be locked to mobily telecom, and according to Apple's list of supported carriers and their features (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1937) they do not offer unlocking. Since only the carrier it is locked to can unlock it, you have bought a useless phone.

- Did you purchase the device from Apple or an authorized reseller? If not, then you were scammed.
- It means you bought a gray market phone that was replaced, reported lost, or reported stolen, then re-sold illegally. It has no warranty and Apple will not service it with an out of warranty replacement.
- If your phone was replaced, it was most likely refurbished.
- You cannot tell the difference between a refurbished phone and a new one.

Not true. All it does is identify it as 'service stock'. It may be refurbised, or it may be new. There is no way for you, or even someone at an Apple Store, to tell the difference.
6 - You bought a phone that was stolen, lost, or taken in for repair and then re-sold illegally. get your money back if you can.
If there is ever a hardware problem that requires service, you will most likely not be able to get it serviced or replaced by Apple.

Why sprite.getBounds(sprite).height first time brings the real height, and then the value by appropriate sprite.scrollRect.height, and how to fix it?

The solution I've found works, but I would like to know how to get the full height of the sprite that has a scrollRect, using the native language facilities.
Is this a bug, or am I doing something wrong?

It means i have to loggin to sqlplus, but even if i logging to sqlplus it won't show total numbers of databases running on the server. Is there any other way to know.
My query is how do I know about number and name of the databases running on a server which is unknown to me. Lsnrctl is one option, but it also doesn't give the 100% result.

I have a requirement where in an advanced table, when user clicks on copy icon against a row..a new row is created with copied values of the row against which copy action is performed.My issue is: assume in table i have got 5 rows..when user clicks on copy..my copied row gets created in the end..but i want tht row to be created directly under the row against which copy action is performed.I think somehow if i am able to know the position number of the row against which copy action is performed..i should be able to achieve it...can you please help me on this.

PRINTER_FRIENDLY View and how to restrict number of rows

Dear apex community,
I am on the APEX 4.2 and OracleXE11g.
I have created a page with the classic SQL report based on the table. The pagination style is "Row Ranges 1-15 16-30 (with set pagination)". Enable Partial Page Refresh: Yes.
The table contains more than 1000 rows and the user can see on one report page only 30 and can navigate with pagination links.
I have created for the user the PRINTER_FRIENDLY view of this page with "YES on the ninth place of the apex url. But now I have the following problem:
- user navigates with pagination buttons and is actually on the page "31-60". The report shows him only 30 records.
- user clicks on the link "PRINT" to call the printer friendly view of the page but the printer friendly page shows him not 30 records, but ALL (more than 1000) rows from the table.
Is there any way to show on the printer friendly page only the records from the report?

The degree of protection very much depends on how strong your master password is.
When using a master password, the data is encrypted using [http://www.tropsoft.com/strongenc/des3.html Triple DES Encryption in CBC mode]. This level of encryption is good for general purpose use. The weak point it the master password, if you have a weak master password there are programs available that will be able to crack the master password, they often do this by using a brute force method. If you use a strong master password, the brute force method will need a very long time to crack passwords. How to know if I need DVD-R or DVD+R? What's the difference?

Attempting to put photos and videos onto DVD's to play on TV and when I was at the store to buy the DVD's I was confronted with whether I need - or + ? I can't find anyone who knows what the difference? Not even the person at the store where I was trying to buy them could tell me? I'm assuming if I purchase the wrong ones, I will probably have some difficulty.

DD, welcome to the forum.
Here is a guide that will help you understand the differences in DVD -R & +R. The standard wisdom is that the +R discs are more compatible with all DVD players. The author of the guide goes into good detail about the differences. I personally buy +R whenever possible. This means if they are cheaper or the same price as - (dash) R.

And if you add *| wc -l* to that, it will give you the number of instances + 1. This might be useful for scripting purposes.
wc -l basically gives you the number of lines.
