VNC OSX and OS9 not working

I'm using the following applications:
Server (OS 9):

Client (OS X):

I can not seem to see the OS9.2.2 G3 W/B from the Snow Leopard MacPro. By all the searching I've done, these two applications seemed highly recommended if one could not afford to purchase Apple Remote Desktop (WAAAAY too expensive)
I've set up file sharing as well and even then the two machine do not see each other. The Mac Pro will access the HD of the G3 after I tell it what IP address to go to, but it does not automatically see it like I see other computers on my network. So I have to wonder what I'm missing.
I need to access the G3 on the network and remote control it. Any suggestions?

Hi, Howab. When you erased the drive and reinstalled OS 10.3, you probably did so using a retail OS 10.3 installer disk set or a retail 10.3 upgrade set, neither of which contains or can reinstall any version of OS 9. Then perhaps you tried to reinstall OS 9.2.2 using an updater rather than a full installer disk. An updater requires some previous OS 9 version to be in place so it can be updated; the updater is not a full installer.
To reinstall OS 9 if you don't have the set of discs that came with your iMac, you will need to buy a retail OS 9.x installer CD (white with a big gold "9" on the label). Don't buy a gray OS 9 installer disc: those are all model-specific and unlikely to work on any model other than the one with which they were originally shipped.
Note that if your hard drive was erased without selecting the option to install OS 9 drivers on it, it will not be visible when you start the computer up from an OS 9 installer CD. In that case, there is no option but to erase it again, being sure to select that option when re-erasing it.

FCE4 and OSX 10.5 not working?

Every time I try to log and transfer from my HG10, FCE4 crashes. I see that others have this working with 10.4 so I assume it's just another case of OSX 10.5 not working properly or are others having no problems?

Thanks Tom, I appreciate your trying to help but I'm a computer professional and I know that having a Windows server on the same network as my Mac is not going to cause a transcoder process to crash: I've used windows network drives for FCP scratch disks for many years with no problems. In this instance, I am trying the network drive as an alternative to the 'native' method as that's not working for me (i.e. log and transfer from the Canon HG10 HDD).
The system crashes about 2 seconds after placing the clip in the queue in the log and transfer window, which implies it's the transcoder process that's failing (it's a SIGSEGV always pointing to the same address which means a bad pointer in the code but this may be that it's making bad assumptions about the version of a library it's loaded).
I believe that preference files can become corrupt and cause badly written code to crash but I've deleted the ones highlighted in the previous post with no success - are there others I should be looking to delete? Is the transcode process actually QT or FCE itself?
[[ OT: I have had more problems with OSX 10.5.1 than I've ever had with any version of OSX (since 10.0): my wife's MacBook Pro has kernel panicked several times and she only uses iLife. Mine hasn't panicked but it has locked up a couple of times and applications crash randomly (although a lot less on 10.5.1 than 10.5). ]]
This is really frustrating as I investigated which camera and software to buy very carefully and I see that Apple even recommends the camera I bought (canon HG10) on it's online store when you select to buy FCE4 so it clearly should be working.

Keyboard and Trackpad Not Working; Mac OSX Unexpectedly Quit?

Hey everyone... I think I may need to stop by the Apple store to figure this one out, but I just wanted to make sure if there was anything I could do on my own first.
So basically, on my MacBook Pro that I got nearly two years ago (late September of 2006) for the past month and a half has had problems. In the beginning, the mouse and keyboard would freeze up and just not work. Restarting the comp did nothing. Some times were worse than others (once it was frozen for 1.5 hours). Then it stopped, every now and then having a few freezes (sometimes when the keyboard froze but the trackpad was still good), but two days ago I had my comp not hooked up to an adapter. When the battery got low, the comp froze. I went to bed and closed the laptop, and the next day it was still frozen. I unfroze it, but then it happened again (I'm pretty sure the same situation... almost no battery)... and it is still frozen, even after multiple restarts.
Also, during the time when freezes weren't as bad, sometimes the keyboard would get stuck on one key, usually the volume up button (very annoying)... then I was told to restart the comp. When I came back, I was told that Mac OS X had unexpectedly quit.

Not sure if this is also important, but I did spill some water on the keyboard a very long time ago (late December '06)... it wouldn't take this long for that to cause the problem, would it?

Does booting up in [Safe Mode|http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1455?viewlocale=en_US] help at all? This boot mode checks the disk on startup and disables non-apple start up items and certain kernel extensions.

2007 Mac Book pro Shuts down at startup attempt. Tried reloading OSX and will not start up after that.

My Mac Book Pro started having issues. I tried to relaod the operating system and it worked for a moment. When I tried to do a time machine back up it failed.

did you try to do a Time Machine backup from your MacBook Pro, or a Time Machine restoration to it?
Are you trying to reload your current version of OS X (10.7.4, to judge from your signature), or are you trying to reload the version of Mac OS X that came on the grey installation DVDs that originally came with your MacBook Pro?

Bootcamp, Mighty Mouse and Keyboard not working

Hi All,
I just install yesterday Windows 7 (Ultimate 64bits) by Bootcamp in my iMac 21" (bought in 2013).
During the installation, the Mighty Mouse and the keyboard were not working (except the first W7 screens, selecting partition and language), and now, installation finished, i got to use an external keyboard to select username and password, because Mighty Mouse and Wireless Keyboard are not working with Windows.
I restart the computer using OSX and both are working fine.
Could you please help me?

Research on the net has led me to belive I should have HP WIRELESS ASSISTANT on my machine... is that correct?
Everytime I try to download it is seem to be for a notepad... mine is a touchsmart desktop...

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer

You should copy everything from your old comptuer to your new one.

Disconnect the iPad, do a Reset [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. The screen will go blank and then power ON again in the normal way.] It is 'appsolutely' safe!, reconnect and follow the prompts.

If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Since I downloaded the upgraded software, my charger that came with my phone says "this cable or accessory is not certified and may not work reliably with this iphone" It worked before but now it doesn't...I don't think I should have to buy a new one...

Try checking your cable socket/lightning cable for dirt, grime, pocket lint, etc. I could not find the solution to this issue myself and after much searching I found someone stating that cleaning this out helped them immensely.
After taking a wooden toothpick (making sure the phone was OFF first) and gently clearing out the edges and inside of the lightning socket this went away.) It is worth noting that I had a significant amount of dust or lint buildup along the edge rails which I think was causing the iphone to believe it was plugged into something when it was not.
Try it and see, ensure you are very careful and do not use any conductive tools to clean the area in question. Compressed air also does wonders here.

Do you mean that when you move files on the Desktop, they don't stay where you put them ?.
If so - use Finder - View menu - Show View options & choose 'Arrange by' : none
If not - please describe exactly what the problem is.
