  • Job submitting fails (VNI-2015) - VARIANT

Here a little variant of the VNI-2015 problem!
On the managed node i have created a local user who is also a local administrator with the "log in as batch jobs" right. Also i have enabled the logging for all system-events like log in /log out.
The same user is a superadministrator in OEM with preferred credential for the managed node and database (username and password).
When i create a backup job with the wizard i register a log-in in the system-event and a log in to the database in the application-event(? - is a german version). After completing the wizard for the backup-strategie i register the log out in the system-event.
When i now submit the job to the node i register nothing as if the OEM did not try to connect to the node and after a few seconds i receive the VNI-2015 error-message.
    Could anybody explain this behavior?
    Thanks

    sorry, i forgot the systemdetails:

  • VNI -2015 Error in OEM

    Hello,
    The following are my specs:
    OEM 9.0.1.0.0
    Windows 2000 SP3
I'm trying to execute 2 simple jobs via the OEM and I encounter the following Error
    VNI-2015: Authentication Failed.
My Windows user is registered as having Batch access.
I'm trying to execute the job as SYSMAN. What user login should I use to have the jobs authenticate correclty?

    Hi,
Be sure that the user create with the "logon as batch " is the one that start the the service OracleOraHomeAgent also the one as the credential in the oem-console->system-preferences for the node you are trying to connect.
you have to stop and start the service before to log on the oem-console.
    Sorry for my english...

  • VNI-2015 from the Oracle Enteprise Manager (Oracle 9i R2)

I had Oracle 8.1.7 under Windows 2000 Advanced Server and I used OEM for doing backup.
After installing new Oracle 9.2 under Windows XP Professional, when I tried to do backup from OEM(Oracle 9i R2), I have the error: VNI-2015 .. I hope that, each from us, had this error when first tried to do backup without changes which I showed below.
    After applying some changes:
    OSAUTH_PREFIX_DOMAIN in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORACLE\HOMEID to FALSE
"Logon as a batch job" include user ... with adequate credential ...
I still have the same problem with the same error VNI-2015.
Please, could you help me ?
    Thank you in advance,

  • Vni-2015 error

    Hello,
When I submit jobs under OMS, for example, the full export of a database, it fails with the vni-2015 error. I describe underneath, the steps made.
    OS:Windows XP Pro Version 2002 SP1
    Database : Oracle 9i 9.2.0.1.0
I opened a windows session locally as the user "TEST". He belongs to "Administrators" and "ORA_DBA" groups.
I defined a database for the Management Server. While the database is open, I started at first, Oracle Intelligent Agent and then OMS as services.
Connecting to OMS for the first time as sysman/oem_temp, I added a user "TEST" with the following privileges : login as a batch job, access to system events. The password of this user corresponds to that of the OS user.
For each and every database, identified by OMS, the connections are established as sys with the role sysdba. The connection to the thread is made as "TEST".
The user is authorised to access all of the databases, the thread and the listener too.
I don't know where I went wrong. I am roaming around this problem since yesterday. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Best regards.
    R.Tirou
As I went through the logs, I read this in "nmiconf.txt".

As I searched for solutions on the web, I found a message from Nabila Mekkaoui asking to delete the file 'emddiscover.tcl' referenced in nmiconf.lst. I did so and thus the intelligent agent runs correctly ( verified via agentctl utility ). But the same error arises when I submit jobs via the Management Server.

    Hello,
I have the very same problem:
OMS is running, the listener is running, the services are running.
In OMS I specified the local administrator (who always has the right to log on as a batch job) for the node-ID credentials and the sysdba-database user for the database.
Yet I always get the error
VNI-2015 : The Node preferred credentials for the target node are either invalid
or do not have sufficient privileges to complete the operation.
On Windows platforms, the Node credentials specified for the Windows target
should have the "Logon as a batch job" privilege.
I also tried with another user whom I specificly gave the right to log on as batch job.
    Still, the VNI-2015 error persists.
What is wrong here? Oracle immedieatly lets the job fail. It is checking very quickly the credentials somewhere and immediately puts the job into the job history with the above message.
    Someone from Ooracle should know?
On the node I tried to specify the user with
    Administrator
    instead of
    servername\administrator
Then the job fails without any error message, just absolutely no output.
This problem persists for weeks now.
    Any hint is greatly appreciated.
    Sincerely
    Andreas

To give the windows user the right – logon as a batch job ,
    use control panel->administrative tools->local security
Now, the XYZ user must be given the right specified.
    4. Set Preferred Credentials
Set the preferred credentials in the Console for
the node as with any user with sysdba privileges like

    Hi,
I try to load data into a table using the Load Wizard in OEM(2.0.4) on an 8i 8.1.5 running in W2K. The job results with the message "VNI-2015 : authentication error ".
Is there anyone who can give me an advise for a solution or a hint on where I can find a detailed description of the error ?

    Hi Adam,
I've got my agent up and running!
Follow these steps and it shoud work :
    1. Shutdown your agent
    2. chown oracle $ORACLE_HOME/bin/dbsnmp
    3. rm $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin/dbsnmp*
    4. rm $ORACLE_HOME/network/log/dbsnmp*
    5. rm $ORACLE_HOME/network/agent/*.q
    6. rm $ORACLE_HOME/network/agent/dbsnmp.ver
    7. rm $ORACLE_HOME/network/agent/services.ora
    8. startup your agent
I think there is a problem with the agent- executable running as root with s-bit.
    Hope this helps

  • VNI-2015 - OEM Backup

    Hey all,
I get the following error when trying to run a backup job from OEM.
VNI-2015 : The Node preferred credentials for the target node are either invalid
or do not have sufficient privileges to complete the operation.
On Windows platforms, the Node credentials specified for the Windows target

I can run backups from rman. I do a connect to target and then connect to catalog.
Have even cut/pasted script that the job wizard creates to rman and it runs fine.
What is going on with the authentication/credentials? Any ideas?
    Thanks!

are you getting connection to eh OEM stand-alone or with OMS ?

The machine was in an NT domain. It had been upgraded to 2000 from NT. I don't think the effective setting stuff for the log on as batch permission was causing us problems until we upgraded (presumably the log on as batch isn't chained down until 2K) - hence I thought I'd suggest it to you, sorry it hasn't helped!
Do let me know when you've figured out the problem as I dare say I'll come across it sooner or later!
    Regards
    Jason.

thanks Jason. I verified that the effective setting is checked for the accounts I'm trying to use, and I made sure I'm not specifying the domain before the user name (i.e. using local users). this machine is not in a Win 2000 domain (aka active directory) however, was the machine you used in an NT 4 domain or a Win 2000 one? I'm thinking the active directory stuff is what's getting in my way.

You may need to grant the privileges to John WITH ADMIN OPTION (or WITH GRANT OPTION for object privileges), if John is to grant others EXECUTE privileges on the procedure.
Whenever you have a problem, it helps if you post a complete test script that re-creates the problem.
    In this case, include
    (1) All relevant GRANT statements
    (2) the full code of kill_my_session (or a simplified version, that gets the same error)
    (3) how John calls it (sucessfully)
    (4) how OITS calls it (unsucessfully)

  • The old VNI-2015 chestnut - all Linux this time

I've seen lots of posts about this, but none of the answers seem to fix my
    problem.
I am running 8i on a Linux server. I also run Linux on my desk. I have an X
window from my machine to the Oracle server. I'm logged in as oracle. I fire
up oemapp console and get the console window on my desktop. I log in to the
repository as the super admin. I can connect to the d/bs and manipulate
them in normal ways. But I CANNOT get jobs to run no matter what
    preferred credentials I set.
There's no NT or Win2K involved at any point so there's no need to worry
about logging in as a batch job or being a PDC or any of that malarky. So what
do I set in the preferred credentials for the node and the database?
SYSTEM/MANAGER seems to be fine for the d/bs and I can connect AS
SYSDBA. For the node, I've tried oracle, I've tried my own id, I've even tried
    root.
This is killing me; if anyone can help you'll be adding years to my life.

+1 from me on this suggestion, though pointing people at the proper upgrade is a great way to make points here in the forums...    Adobe already did all the work, and we get to be the heroes.

    Hi Penny,
I can answer one of your questions (unfortunately it does not tell how
to solve the problem, but at least it gives a bit of guidance).
    >We are wondering if NI-Max is supposed to support the CRIO-9002 for File->Export.
No, there is no configuration in NI-MAX to be exported for a cRIO-9002 controller.
Seems that the problem is lying in how the executable/installer will
get built into it information about the variables that the cRIO-9002
exports. My guess this is a "variable configuration" problem and not a
"hardware configuration" one, which is beyond my expertise.
