Vodafone Mobile Connec

I have a spanish usb for internet from Vodafone named ´Vodafone Mobile Connect´.
It was working perfectly, I installed ut trhu the usb drive, which provides the software and the internet ofcourse. Since yesterday it doesn´t work anymore. When I try to open the application on the dock the application icon starts jumping for 1 minute, but doesn´t start.. It does open something I guess, because I do see the name of the application above in the screen, but without functioning.
This happened suddently, I was ussing it in the morning as normal and later in the afternoon it all of a sudden didn´t work anymore. I deleted the application after and tried wanted to install it again .But I can´t install it anymore again because whenever I put the usb in the computer it only recognizes for 3 seconds and then dissappears from my desktop. So i can´t find the install application neither anymore now...
ooh what to do? Who can help me?
Please.
greets,
Renate

  • Have installed OSX Mavericks and Vodafone Mobile Broadband Modem no longer connects despite reloading its software. Now cannot reinstall OSX Mountain Lion

Upgraded to OSX Mavericks. Vodafone Mobile Broadband Modem no longer connects. Tried again after reinstalling latest Vodafone Modem software update for Mac OSX, but no use.

Could somebody give a feedback about the solution proposed by Bokir?
I am experiencing exactly the same problem after upgrading to Mavericks with the Huawei E220 modem.
The connection is established for a few seconds, but no data is transfered, and the connection is then closing automatically.
I left the modem plugged in and the Vodafone software set to Automatic, and after numerous attempts and 10 to 15 minutes, it appeared that the connection was finally established.
That is of course no way to work.
After running the VMB uninstaller, there are still a lot of stuff in library cache & preference folder that are pertaining to VMB and not removed.
It is also strange that after uninstalling and reinstalling the VMB software, I am not requested to enter my pin code to establish a connection.
It is obvious that there must be some other VMB files (probably corrupted) somewhere in the system that are not removed by the uninstaller.
I have another macbook pro running VMB without problem and I am really afraid to install Mavericks on this laptop because of this issue.
    Thanks again for any feedback.

  • Firefox 3.6. Internet connection vodafone mobile broadband. Pubmed website does not search. Even after making all previously described advice (javascript, cache, firewall, cookies). Pubmed works with ie. Pubmed in mozilla works with a wifi connection

I have a vodafone mobile internet connection (3G). In mozilla enviroment, i cannot search in Pubmed website (www.pubmed.com). I click the SEARCH button but nothing happens. I have made all the previously mentioned corrections (javascript, cookies, cache, firewall) but the problem still exists. When i get connected via a wifi internet connection, Pubmed in mozilla browser works properly.
It should be mentioned that Pubmed works fine either in mobile 3G connection or in a wifi internet connection. I would be grateful if someone could respond to my problem.

Your problem sounds similar to this one, except that they're using software raid rather than just pure LVM. If you're using an initrd, you may not have the appropriate modules installed. If you're not using an initrd, then the kernel probably needs LVM support compiled in (not as a module) and could be solved by fixing that. I have never used the ck-patchset, but this should give you an additional data point.
Also comment=systemd.automount will be deprecated soon as I understand it; if you have a need for automounting, x-systemd.automount should be used instead.

  • Error when installing Vodafone mobile Internet

I have purchase a Toshiba laptop around 2002, Windows XP Home Edition, version 2002, Service Pack 1. I have only used it 3 times during this time. I want t to install Vodafone Mobile internet. However I am having problems. The install Shield Wixzard keeps on saying that
"Administrative privileges are required in order to install Vodafone Mobile Conect. The installer will now close"
Can some one please tell me what I need to do to over cme this problem? I have been online with Vodafone for over an hour and also one of their out lets and they do not know how to fix this problem.

    Hi Look Classifieds,
I cant image this issue has something to do with Toshiba. In my opinion its related to Vodafone, maybe the software is not compatible or you need a new version.
I would recommend contacting Vodafone and ask for help. Maybe they can send you a new version or know what to do.
Last but not least I noticed that you are using Service Pack 1 for XP. The most application/drivers require Service Pack 2 at least so you should make an update to SP2 or SP3.

  • Vodafone Mobile Broadband Line Dropping

Just bought a Vodafone mobile dongle which keeps dropping the line in about 4 minutes. Full story below + log record.
Vodafone Spain support not helpful, any advice greatfully appreciated.
    Story:
I have just bought a PAYG Vodafone K3772-Z mobile broadband dongle in Estepona in Spain and have had problems in getting it to work without it always dropping the connection.
The connection drops after 4:12 and 4:26 minutes, irrespective of the data throughput, in other words is does not seem to be a data limit problem. It drops the line and reports "Searching for network…" "Not connected" and the signal bars and Connect button are greyed. It never finds a network and I have to exit and re-open the Vodafone app.
The dongle is running Firmware BD_K3772V3.0
My laptop is a MacBook Pro 6.2 running OS10.8.1 with Vodafone Mobile Broadband 4.09.01.00
The network shows signal is strong with all 4 or 5 bars "full"   I also have a Vodafone Blackberry which also shows a strong signal.  I also have an O2 UK broadband dongle which works perfectly.
I get the same results if
I plug the dongle in to either of the two USB ports, if
I use an short USB extender cable in either of the two USB ports, and if
I set it to prefer 3G or GPRS
    Settings:
Main - I see Mobile Connection = vodafone ES HSPA or vodafone ES EDGE, SIM (removed for security) 1, Signal = Excellent
Prepago - Click on "My Account" I get redirected to "http://www.vodafone.es/particulares/mi-vodafone/home.jsp" which returns a error page…
Connections - only enabled for "Mobile Connections"

  • Using Vodafone Mobile Direct HELP!

I have successfully installed and used Vodafone Mobile Direct (v2.06.05 the latest for mac) on my MacBook Pro, Using 10.4.9. This is connected via a Vodafone USB modem.
It would not load one day and I got the message:-
An exception of Nilobjectexception was not handled. The Application must shut down.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software but to no avail... I can only assume the package has altered the registers in some way because I would have thought that a complete removal and reinstall should have fixed it.
I previously ran this package on my Powerbook G4 and am now using this again and it is working Fine.
Can anyone help me here... I live in the country no mains electricity, no telephone line and this is my only form of communication.
    Thanks for your help

I think one thing an install would change, and an uninstall most likely won't revert... is the Ports & Order in Network>Show:>Network Port Configurations.
So you might take a look there to see what's checked, and you can drag the Interface you want to use for Internet to the top of the list. Might try deleting vodaphone related ones and reboot, then reconnect the vodaphone.
Might try uninstalling vodaphone, then trashing...
/Users/nnnn/Library/Preferences... the whole Prefs folder there.
    /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration... the whole SysConfig folder.
    /Library/Preferences/com.apple.sharing.firewall.plist
    /Library/Preferences/com.apple.networkConfig.plist
And reboot & reinstall vodaphone, & setup Networking again... of course you dont have to trash them, you can just move them to the desktop to drag back if it doesn't work.

  • Vodafone Mobile Wifi R205 and Airport express

I have just bought a Vodafone Mobile Wifi R205 and was wanting to know if it was possible to bridge it to my Airport express so that I will still be able to play my music to the remote speakers and have internet at the same time from my MacBook pro?

If your MacBook has internet connection via USB you would simply enable Internet Sharing on the MacBook. Configure it to share from USB to AirPort. You would also need to enable Personal Web Sharing on the MacBook.
That will allow your iPod touch to browse the internet. To do anything more you would need to disable the MacBook's firewall or configure it so that it dies not apply to the AirPort connection.
Adding an AirPort Express (AX) would not change what you need to do on the MacBook and it would simply add more complication.

  • Firmware update done, but now vodafone mobile connect crashes

I´m at the end of my tether.
I have an i-mac running OSX 10.4.8 if I remember correctly.
Yesterday (2nd October 2007) my mac downloaded a firmware update.
I let it install the firmware update and then when I tried to get back on the net with my Huawei E220 modem it no longer worked.
I deleted the vodafone mobile connect program, used my windows xp laptop (with my Huawei E220 modem) to download the mac installation software for the modem, and re-installed the modem on my mac, but I still have the same problem:
I click on the vodafone mobile connect icon and the icon starts bouncing up and down... but it doesn´t open the programme window, and doesn´t respond - it´s the first crash I´ve ever seen on the Mac. I don´t know a lot about macs and need help with this problem - I even shut the mac down, and turned it on again holding the "on" button in, incase there had been a problem with the firmware. Can anyone tell me how to fix this? please?
    MacIgnoramos.

doh! even a pc user probably could have told me how to do this:
    1) uninstall vodafone modem program "using the proper uninstall option of the program" - i.e. not simply dragging the icon to the trash can.
    2) re-install.
    3) sit back, and enjoy the mac again.

  • Problems with Vodafone Mobile Card (Huawei E220)

I have a Vodafone Mobile Card with the latest firmaware and with the latest software on the Mac (the official software from Vodafone, kinda like launch2net) and all worked fine in Tiger, but now in Leopard, I did a clean install, installed the Vodafone software, it works fine the first time I use it and then, after unplugging, when I use it again it never works.
The Vodafone Mobile Connect launches, accepts the password, measures the signal but when I tell it to activate, it just hangs and I have to force quit. Sometimes, after force quitting I can still do the normal connection (choosing modem and connecting) but this only works sometimes.
Does anybody have this problem also? How can I fix it?

I am experiencing a similar problem with Vodafone Mobile Connect 3G (Version 2.08.01.00), however, I am not running OS 10.5. The modem was working fine on both of my computers for about 3 weeks, but now it does not work on my Macbook while it continues to work on my old iMac. When I launch VMC it hangs before the activation window appears and I have to either force quit or it quits itself; no error message window appears. Both computers have the same recent software updates from Apple. I am going to do a clean install of the old software on the Macbook, but I am nervous that when I unplug the modem from my iMac, the same problem will occur on it and then I will be without a connection.
I downloaded VMC software (in English) from here:

  • Snow Leopard and GSM Modems (Vodafone)

I'm not sure if this is the proper place to post this, but I'd like to share my experience with GSM (GPRS/3G) modems and Mac OS X. The main reason for doing this is the fact that I wasn't able to find any related information for my issues on the web and I think I'm not the only one with those issues. Feel free to post any feedback here
Few months ago I started using a 3G modem with my Macbook Air. The service provider is Vodafone and the modem is incorrectly marketed by Vodafone on the web as a Huawei device (E169), but it is a ZTE K3656-Z modem (I'm not sure if the companies are different or if the hardware is, in fact, different, but the kernel module is definitely different :D).
The first thing that annoyed me is the Vodafone Mobile Connect application. The 'response time' between plugging in the modem and actually getting online is quite big, and I really wanted to get it out of my way. I'm not using any SMS functionality, so from my point of view, the application was totally pointless. When you plug in the modem, it acts as an external CD Drive. If the Vodafone Mobile Connect application is installed, it will automatically eject (unmount) the drive. Unfortunately,
this usually (not all the time, but quite often) generates a crash in diskutil (quite annoying).
But what annoyed me the most, was the fact that, when online, the Vodafone application was taking at least 35% of my CPU. Now, this is unacceptable Under normal load (Safari, Adium), this was quite acceptable. But under slightly higher load, the CPU was getting quite hot, causing the kernel_task to try to slow down the system (and cool down the CPU) by taking about 135% of CPU (according to Activity Monitor) and making the system unusable. Of course, another side effect was the cooler running at 6400 RPM, faster battery drain and generally, making the system quite unusable. My 1st Generation Macbook Air wasn't able to deal with all that
When I first saw the high CPU usage by the Vodafone application, I immediately thought of the old 56Kb WinModems Back then, it was quite a common practice to develop modems that would use the CPU to compress/decompress or process the data/sound in order to make the modem as cheap as possible, but inflicting a huge system slow down - Yes, I'm that old :P
Given that experience with those modems, I figured that the Vodafone application was somehow doing that as a 'user space module' Boy, was I wrong
So, this is what I did: First of all, you need to properly identify the GSM modem. In order to do this (no Terminal involved) is to set up connection using Vodafone Mobile Connect, then using the System Preferences, head over to Network and check the available interfaces (no, this is not a tutorial, but a guide :P ). You should see either a Huawei Modem or ZTEUSBModem/ZTEUSBATPort. Keep in mind the modem you have, then disconnect. At this point, you need to use the Vodafone application to change the PIN settings on your SIM card. Use the application (Preferences -> PIN) and disable PIN check. Now you can safely remove the Vodafone application
The second step is to install the proper modules/drivers/kexts for this. You can either get them from the web (at this point, you already know what modem you have) or you can use the packages located inside the Vodafone Mobile Connect application installer. To do this, simply use 'Show Contents' of the installer, then locate the packages (pkg) inside the Resources folder for your modem (the names are quite clear :P). Install that package and you'll have the modem drivers installed on your system.
Once the modem drivers are installed, when you connect the GSM modem, the external CD Drive will 'mount'. Eject it and wait a little bit (few seconds) until the SIM card is initialized and the modem is available. Go to System Preferences -> Network and add a new interface using ZTEUSBModem (not ZTEUSBATPort). Set it up as a Generic Modem, GPRS Modem and configure it with your provider settings (APN, username, password). Set the dial up number as *99# (you can find a lot of tutorials on the web about setting this up - the tricky part was installing the proper modules and disabling the PIN check). You may now connect.
The downside of this is the fact that you need to manually eject the drive when connecting the modem, otherwise you won't get the modem functionality, no SMS functionality and no PIN security.
The upside is a very quiet system (the fan runs at 2400 RPM as opposed to 6400 RPM), a fast one (I can't see any noticeable slow down at all) and better battery life time.
I'm not sure what is the effect on other systems, but my 1st Generation Macbook Air was totally unusable after few minutes of online time. Now it works perfectly
I really hope that this is useful for other people Feel free to ask any question, I'm aware that my 'tutorial' skills are quite poor :P

Oh, I forgot to mention: This works both on Leopard and Snow Leopard (tested on both systems). I've used the modem drivers located inside the Vodafone Mobile Connect installer (I couldn't find any ZTE modem drivers on the web).

  • Nokia 6120 does not work on Vodafone live!

I purchased the Nokia 6120 classic from the Nokia shop in Slough 2 months ago.
I was informed by the sales representative that I would be able to use all the functionality on the handset – just as if I had purchased it directly from Vodafone!
2 months later I am still unable to connect to Vodafone live. This is because the 6120 is currently an unbranded Vodafone Live handset! Vodafone live is in text format only!
Because the handset is unbranded in the UK – I am unable to use services such as Sky TV, Vodafone mobile TV, Slingmedia, etc, etc.
That’s the last time I jump the gun – next time I’ll wait for Vodafone to support the handset before I purchase.
Not impressed Nokia shop in Slough!!!!!
“Good things come to those who wait”

It's not as simple as buying a sandwich.
The phone is fully compatible with vodafone, it's vodafone live that is not compatible with the phone.
Just because he's a manager does not mean that he will know everything about every network. He probably gave you the answer that he had been lead to believe, and the answer is, yes the 6120 classic is fully compatible with vodafone, which is true.
It doesn't matter how many times you ask, he can only tell you what he knows. They sell sim free phones, not voda branded phones. It's your job to test it as soon as you've bought it.
If I go into a shop and ask a question about an electronic item I will accept their answer, do my research on the net and buy the product. If it turns out the information is incorrect I will return it.
If you had used google as I suggested in my very first post you would have found that there is a way to get voda live fully working on your phone.
