Does anyone knows of an App that allows voice activation of the shutter to take pics?

The fact palm ignore to put many key features in this beautiful devise is mind bugling to me, to be honest with you I bought the pre in June of 2009 and recently stop using it and got a android phone htc hero with sprint because all the things that the pre were missing from a smart phone perspective, now I think that palm have a winner here they just need to realize that multitasking alone is not going to cut it they need to innovate see what the other phone manufactures are doing and do more, I just heard that htc supersonic is coming soon to sprint and that the Iphone 4g is already in the making , palm better get their act together and come up with a killer phone soon or is going to be to late for them.

Hi Kilted Tim, thank you for your quick response.
Yup, I've had the unlimited plan for about 4-5 years, and I do everything I can to keep from losing it, for obvious reasons.
As you advise, I've been using the iphone in airplane mode with wifi activated which works fine when I am in wifi range. But of course when I'm out and about I want to use my data roaming for internet, maps, skype, whatever so I take it out of airplane mode.
The trouble is that I get incoming calls and am charged international rates even when I dont answer. I havent looked lately but I think AT&T charges me for one minute even for unanswered incoming calls.
Any ideas?

Can Quicktime be set to record on Voice activation?

Can Quicktime or Quicktime Pro be set up to be Voice Activated, and stay on during a sleep mode to moniter suroundings? Is there any other Programs that would serve the purpose??

I tried this setup, Jeff... gets me to the login page fine... but doesn't seem to recognize any of my email logins (all which are virtual).
I have a website setup as MAIL.MYDOMAIN.COM... port 80...performance cache OFF... and pointing to /usr/share/squirrelmail. I tried these settings with OPTIONS-->WebMail both checked and unchecked. Doesn't seem to make any difference.
So, does the problem have to do with the fact that I have Mailstore partitions setup by domain, as per Alex's guide to Making Virtual Users?
As Alex mentioned, turn off the performance cache.
You can change the port in ServerAdmin to something
else (you mentioned 8010, which is fine).
You may need to create a seperate Site for Webmail if
you don't have one already.
To take this a step further....
My preferred (non-SSL) setup is this:
- Assuming you already have DNS of mail.domain.com
- Create a site for mail.domain.com (port 80)
- In Sites/General, port 80
- In Sites/General Web Folder
"/usr/share/squirrelmail"
- In Sites/Options, turn off Perf Cache.
If you do the above, when you hit
http://mail.domain.com
You will go straight to Squirrelmail without having
to add a /webmail to your url and without having to
use a different port #.

Voice activation? You mean VoiceOver. Unless you remember going into Settings and enabling it, you must have set a triple-tap shortcut for VoiceOver. Try tapping the home button three times (quickly but not too quickly). If that doesn't resolve the problem, you will have to takie things slow and listen to VoiceOver to unlock the phone. You tap the first digit of your code, then tap it again, then tap the second digit, wait, and tap it again, and so on. Press the home button if you are in an app and slowly swipe your way to the Settings app. Tap the app, wait for it to speak, and tap it again, tap General in the same manner, then scroll down to accessiblility (which will probably require two finger to scroll (scroll in increments), then tap VoiceOver, and then turn VoiceOver off with the switch by tapping the switch, waiting, and tapping it again.

MSI Compatible Active Shutter Glasses

I have just bought an AE2420 3D which comes with one pair of MSI active shutter glasses.
Does anybody know if I can buy more pairs of glasses from MSI, or is it possible to buy
3rd party glasses that will be compatible with this PC & if so how do I know which ones are compatible?

You could also check at local stores that might have them and see if you can get some and either take the PC to store for test or buy to test and return if they don't work.
I see that they sell from $125-$150 USD so kind of high priced.

Voice Activated Software

I am currently exploring the potential of allowing a user to access SAP and process various transactions through Voice Activated Software.
Has anyone had any experience of this or know of any solutions that are proven to integrate with SAP?

Does MacListen take over general control of the computer? I mean does it do commands such as "Switch to Firefox" and will it run application-specific applescripts?
How does MacListen compare with say Dragon Naturally Speaking, traditionally best in the field?
Is McListen any more reliable than the speech recognition software bundled with apple? Can it be trained so that when, for the tenth time I say "switch to firefox" and for the tenth time it switches to x-code, I can press a button saying "no you got it wrong", and when at last it gets it rigfht I can reward it by pressing an equivalent button?

If you bought the iphone in the US and it is locked to a specific carrier, then you can't use a different sim (from another carrier). Is this your situation?

here is a cheaper solution than camera kit and a lot easier if you have WIFI available.
I use the PhotoSync APP (I think its a $1.99) will transfer videos and photos over WIFI to any other IOS device or even PC/MAC. Great app since I like doing video and photos on my IPHONE and transfer to IPAD2 without synching through computer or doing cloud based storage.
You can even send photos/videos from your MAC/PC to your IOS devices that way too. Makes it so much easier.

CClose the camera app and reset the iPad.
In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Next, reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

If the phone is locked to a carrier then you will need the carrier to unlock it And only the carrier can do that.

If you're referring to Photo Booth, by default it mirrors the image. But under Edit in the menu bar you have two commands, "Flip Photo" (Command-F) and "Auto-Flip New Items" (Shift-Command-F), which should get your images "right".

Voice activation button

Is there a way to disable the voice activation button ( middle button ) on the side of the device.
This button is easily depressed accidentally.

HT204389 IPad is in "voice activation mode" and it will not open. I did not change any settings.

Congrats on the new phone abochoa! Ann154 & gina7239 are right. The SIM activation can take a bit, and it's best to make sure the SIM was meant for the number you're activating. Here's a great site for help with the initial set up and activation of your new iPhone 5: http://bit.ly/Vl0NrS. If it takes more than an hour to activate, try powering the phone down and removing the SIM for a minute to refresh the phone's connection to the WiFi network and activation process.

You are not connected to the internet. Try:
- Resetting the iPod
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Powerng off and then back on your router
- Resetting network Settings: Setings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
