Voice Bundle Routers vs UC Bundle Routers

Hello all,
I am techinal engineer, but i need to make BoQ for 3945 CME-SRST for one of our client.
In Cisco Commerce Workspace i can see there are two types of 3945 routers are available for CME SRST
1- C3945-CME-SRST/K9 = 3945 Voice Bundle w/PVDM3-64,FL-CME-SRST-25,UC Lic,FL-CUBE25
2- C3945-CMESRSTK9-RF = 3945 UC Bun PVDM3-64, FL-CME-SRST-25, UC Lic PAK REFURBISHED
What is the difference between both, a part from this that option 2 is refurbished router, is there any other differ between both products ?
My client has 120 Users on site & i need to make BoQ that cover 120 users.
Also what is the difference between C3945 & C3945E product ?
Regards,

Basically these two bundles are same - UC/Voice bundles...exept that option one have free CUBE licenses which Cisco from near past included in voice bundles - because of obvious SIP  popularity. So if I'm on your place - I would go with option 1.
3945 vs 3945E - maybe this will help:

    Flavio,
It looks like you are missing the "ccm-manager mgcp" command in the global configuration mode.
To enable the gateway to communicate with  Cisco CallManager through the Media Gateway Control Protocol (MGCP) and  to supply redundant control agent services, use the ccm-manager mgcp command in global configuration mode.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/12_3t/voice/command/reference/vrht_c4_ps5207_TSD_Products_Command_Reference_Chapter.html#wp1072910
Do a mgcp / no mgcp once its added. Make sure that the domain name on cucm is the same as it appears in the 'show ccm-manager' output on the gateway. If the issue persists, please post show tech as requested earlier.

  • Voice Gateway routers

I have a multi-site WAN with centralized call processing setup for a business. Would the 1841 router be able to extend VOICE?

    Thanks Sankar,
I need assistance with installing a Backup device onto a OS 2000.2.7a software.
The Tape drive is a HP DAT-EXT-72 USB.
I've installed the Tape drive however BARS is unable to detect, I've tried restarting services, re-installing BARS however no success for detection from BARS, is this compatible?

  • Link PBX systems with routers

    Hi,
I am a newer in VoIP. I d like to connect a Hipath 3350 PBX to an Alcatel 4400 PBX using Cisco routers (as 1760, 2801 or 2811).
What are hardware and sorftware requiements for Cisco equipements to establish communication. I use only digital phones, no IP-phones.
    Thanks a lot.

Let's say for simplicity you go with the 2801. There is something called "2801 voice bundle" that will give you both the voice IOS, and a DSP module (PVDM2-8) good for 8 calls. If you need have 10 calls, order the upgrade that will give you PVDM2-16 instead.
Then for each router you need a module that is either VWIC-1MFT-E1 (older) or the newer VWIC2-1MFT-T1/E1 (newer, but both would work)
Check the PBX physical interface in case there is some cable that should be ordered from cisco (unlikely).
Your reseller should know all these things, if he does not, is not a good reseller.
With all the above you can support QSIG no problems. There are documents to facilitate the configuration for both routers and PBX. Once you have the routers on network and pinging each other, come back and we go from there.
Hope this helps, please rate post if it does!

  • 10G wan etherchannel bundling between 12410 routers or between CRS-1 router

How etherchannel/bundle ether will behave on the N*10G wan links between the 12410 routers and when running between the 12410 and CRS-1 routers and also when running between 2 CRS-1 routers ??
How it is advantageous compared to the normal CEF based load balancing on these above routers without etherchannel or bundle ether configured on them.
    Any suggestions on this ??

    Hello Rajesh,
we are speaking of high end routers that are expected to process tens of thousands of flows per second even just differentiating on source and destination ip addresses there should be enough variety in your traffic to use the parallel CEF links in a fair way.
CEF uses an EXOR of ip source and ip destination and an hash seed that changes only when the system is reloaded.
etherchannel can use EXOR of different fields:
    MAC SA exor MAC DA
    IP SA exor IP DA
L4 SA port exor L4 DA port
but only one of them applies to a type of traffic at a specific time.
Or you expect a few very high volume flows on the links (DR or DB synchronization just to say)
So to answer your question, unless used for connecting two data centers, I don't expect to gain in fairness by using a bundle.
    Hope to help

  • What licenses do I need for CUCM and CME

    Hi Experts,
I am a newbie to Cisco IP telephony and request your guidance.
My boss has asked me to order some 7942 phones for a CUCM based site and some 7942 phones for a CME based site.
For CUCM 9, I understand that we need an enhanced user licenses on CUCM side.
For the IP phone, I see 2 part numbers and am confused.
    CP-7942G - Cisco Unified IP Phone 7942G
CP-7942G-CH1 - Cisco Unified IP Phone 7942G, for Channels, with one station user license
What is the station user license mentioned in the part number CP-7942G-CH1 ? Is it the same as the enhanced user licenses? Assuming i am ordering enhanced user licenses, what should I order CP-7942G or CP-7942G-CH1?
I also see a part number SW-CCM-UL-7942= ? What is this part? is it needed?
And what do I need for CME?
Is FL-CME-SRST-10 enough for the CME?
What is the part number for the phones? Is it CP-7942G or CP-7942G-CCME?
I also see another part number "SW-CCME-UL-7942="? What is it? And is it really needed?
I heard that Cisco simplified Licensing from version 9. At least it doesn't look simple to me :(
Can you please help me, Experts?
    Thanks,
    Pete

Hi without knowing your business goals, current network, etc here is some feedback.
Depending on your design, if the sites are connected via a reliable WAN you could run the branch site as SRST and not CME, this way you get a rich feature set of the centralised call manager and simplify licenses, etc.
Anyway, you need to size your CUCME (or SRST) correctly as each Cisco router  hardware platform has a maximum supported handsets. If you have a SIP provider new purchased ISRs now come with 10 CUBE licenses other wise you will need something else such as a VIC for dial tone.
For instance the following is a router that comes with 25 CME
    C2901-CME-SRST/K9
    2901 Voice Bundle w/PVDM3-16,FL-CME-SRST-25,UC Lic,FL-CUBE10
You can add CP-7942G-CCME which is the physical phone and license for CME
Use CP-7942G= for the Call Manager Deployment as you will get UCL Enh or CUWL for the user side
If you have existing routers you will need to obtain upgrade licenses for voice/CME add DSPs if needed for conferencing, media termination, etc, CUBE or voice cards and you can add the phones.
Router handset capacities see Table 7
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/routers/2900-series-integrated-services-routers-isr/data_sheet_c78_553896.html

  • Cisco 2800 card/module

    Hi,
I am planning to connect two Nortel PBXs through my data network to simulate a toll bypass system (Using analog phones). Currently the two PBX are connected by T1 circuit. I will be using 2800 routers on each end.
Which Cisco card/module should I use? Will this solution requires PVDM2?
    Thanks

    Hi
    You'll need a VWIC2-1MFT-T1/E1 on each end (single port E1 or T1 software-switchable card).
You'll also need enough DSPs for 24 channels of voice on each end - if using G711 this would be 24 channels so a PVDM2-32 (or two 16s) would be OK. I'm guessing you'll be using G729 though, so you'll need a PVDM2-48.
You will require a voice capable IOS as well....
I normally start with a voice bundle and add the DSPs/VWICs I need to simplify the order, e.g.:
    CISCO2801-V/K9 2801 Voice Bundle,PVDM2-8,SP Serv,64F/256D
    VWIC2-1MFT-T1/E1 1-Port 2nd Gen Multiflex Trunk Voice/WAN Int. Card - T1/E1
    PVDM2-8U48 PVDM2 8-channel to 48-channel factory upgrade

  • Cisco ip phone 9971 registration failed with CME 8.5

    Good day!
I have voice bundle 2951 with 15.1.3(T) IOS version and  a few 9971 ip phones. In addition to it I've downloaded current SIP firmware for these phones (sip9971.9-2-1) and configured my CME as follows:
    voice register global mode cme source-address 192.168.2.254 port 5060 max-dn 10 max-pool 5 load 9971 sip9971.9-2-1 timezone 13 create profile sync 0069043299436028!voice register dn  1 number 104 name 9971 SIP Phone label 104 mwi!voice register pool  1 id mac 688D.ABA4.A88B type 9971 number 1 104 presence call-list dtmf-relay rtp-nte codec g711ulaw no vadvoice service voip sip
registrar server expires max 3600 min 120
All SIP firmware files were uploaded to tftp server on CME and shared then:
    tftp-server flash:kern9971.9-2-1.sebn tftp-server flash:rootfs9971.9-2-1.sebn tftp-server flash:sboot9971.031610R1-9-2-1.sebn tftp-server flash:sip9971.9-2-1.loads tftp-server flash:skern9971.022809R2-9-2-1.sebn tftp-server flash:dkern9971.100609R2-9-2-1.sebn tftp-server system:cme/sipphone
During the boot process all ip settings including option 150 were successfully updated by the phone:
    ip dhcp pool voip_pool   network 192.168.2.0 255.255.255.0   default-router 192.168.2.254   option 150 ip 192.168.2.254
But when the phone tries to get files on the CME it fails. The ouput of debug tftp events command shows that there is no such configuration file on tftp:

So, i dont quiet understand why the registration process was failed. Could anyone tell me if there are restrictions on the SIP firmware and IOS version in this case?
    Thank you.

    linuxchild,
thank you. i checked this out, but i think it doesnt matter whether tftp-path statement is set or not in this case.
Configuration files for 9971 are located in system:cme/sipphone directory by default.
While I have this statement in tftp-server configuration, it should get this file from the server.
    tftp-server system:cme/sipphone
i tried to configure it accordiing to this example.
Now i can see xml file in flash direcory:

    35         825 Aug 1 2011 09:48:54 +00:00 featurePolicyDefault.xml
But i cant still get this file from tftp and have the same error:
*Aug  1 09:50:27.385: TFTP: read request from host 192.168.2.5(49157) via GigabitEthernet0/1

    Has anyone had such problem?

  • Best way to extend FXO to a remote site???

    Team,
I have a customer who is looking for the best way to simply extend 4 fxo lines from a location to their location. There is an ethernet connection to their location from the location containing the FXO lines. I know we can do this by putting in voice aware routers and fxo/fxs cards at both locations but that turns out to be quite expensive. I am curious if there is a simple way to do this through an appliance/gateway or any other creative way someone has tried.
Any thoughts and suggestions are welcome.
    Thanks
    Paul

    Hi Paul -
If I understand you correctlly, I've done this is in the past but with one drawback.
What I did was to use an SPA-3102 at the office (which I had connected to a local PBX, which happened to have 4 outgoing PSTN lines - FXO), then at the remote end - I simplly used a number of spare 2100 ATA for each workstation.
The 3102 was setup in gateway mode, while each 2100 had thier own number and universal dial plan.
The dial plan, simplly allowed the users to dial in-house extensions hanging off the PBX, and by pressing 0 to get an outside line, this would  allow you to call external parties through the FXO lines at the main office site.
Kind of what your after, I think?
    Drawbacks:
I found I had major echo issues when using the 3102 as a PSTN gateway, the echo was not prevalent when dialling an internal PBX extension though.
Never really got the echo issue sorted out, just minimised as best I could.

  • No dialer command under ISDN BRI interface

    Hi all,
I have a 2901 router voice bundle with 4 ISDN BRI ports and would like to have them bundled under Dialer1 interface. Unfortunately it doesn't give me option for Dialer command under BRI interface as expected.
    router(config-if)#int bri0/0/0

    router(config-if)#dia

    router(config-if)#dialer
                             ^
% Invalid input detected at '^' marker.
    router(config-if)#
I assume it's down to the UC license installed on the device but not sure. Does the ISDN BRI interface behave in different way under this license?

  • IP2IP Gateway Transcoding Problem

I have a test IP to IP Gateway on 2811 with PVDM2-16 DSPs.
The software is c2800nm-ipvoice_ivs-mz version 12.3(11)T7.
Accortding to the documentation it should be able to do transcoding between inbound
and ourbound call legs (Transcoding G.711-G.729). However, the configuration guide points to
“Configuring Enhanced Conferencing and Transcoding for Voice Gateway Routers” chapter
of the Cisco CallManager and Cisco IOS Interoperability Guide. This configuration is for
CallManager transcoders. But I need the gateway to do transcoidng and do so with NO need
for CallManager. The gatway is not registered in gatekeeper also. It should be standalone
and make static routing of h323 calls between endpoints.
I've searched in the documentation but I did not find any configurations
that I can use. I made a lot of tests with diferents configurations but when there is no match
in codec betweend in and out legs (with slowstart) the debug says:
*Aug 18 11:10:03.030: //2546/3AD381928396/H323/cch323_prepare_preferred_codec_list: Check the filter: Not a single match
*Aug 18 11:10:03.030: //2546/3AD381928396/H323/cch323_peer_caps_ind_common: No Matching Codec after filtering. Hence try to find xcoder
When faststart is enabled the two call legs have different codecs in " show call history " but I here strange sounds
which means that there is no proper ( or no at all) transocding in the gateway but the endpints try to decode the incorect codec.
So I don't know if this is some problem in this recent version of IOS or I have to make some reconfigurations or even change the DSPs.
Or may be it's not (yet) possible to to this kind of transcoding and I misunderstood the features description in the docs?
    Any ideas are welcome!

I could go out-of-topic, but the best thing (with a reasonable price) I have seen to do codec translation is the MERA MVTS softswitch.
Asterisk PBX can do it as well, but it need licenses for the G729 codec and its H323 support is crappy.

  • License CallMgr 5.1 7825 Appliance, 1,000 seats

    Hi,
I am Mohammed Afzal Siddiqui working as a Network Engineer in "STESA" Co. We are going to implement a project which is having 2811& 2821 voice enable routers with VIC2-2FXO,VIC-2FXS,VIC2-2E/M Cisco 2800 IOS SP Services router and 3750 24 10/100 PoE+2SFP Standard Image and We are using Call Manager 5.1 7825 Appliance,1,000 seats that means each Call Manager is containing the 500 Users license so my question is if we are using the other Call Manager for the redundancy, For the other Call Manager the license should be purchased or on the one license we can use both as one for redundancy as one fails.

    Hi Mohammed,
    You will just need to load the Licenses on the first Callmanager (Node). Have a look at the documentation;
    Uploading a License file
Use the following procedure to upload a license file to the Cisco Unified CallManager server with the matching MAC address that is provided when requesting for a license file. The Cisco Unified CallManager server where the license file is loaded takes on the functionality of the license manager.
Note: Upload the license file only on the first node of Cisco Unified CallManager cluster.
    Procedure
Step 1 Choose System > License > Upload License File.
The License File Upload window displays.
Step 2 The Existing License Files drop-down list box displays the license files that are already uploaded to the server.
Note Click View File to view the file content of any existing files.
Step 3 To choose a new license file to upload, click Upload License File.
The Upload File pop-up window displays.
Step 4 Browse and choose a license file to upload to the server.
Step 5 Click Upload License File.
After the upload process is complete, the Upload Result file displays.
    Step 6 Click Close.
Step 7 In the License File Upload window, the status of the uploaded file displays.
    From this doc;

Hope this helps! And best of luck with your install!

  • Mixing T1s and PRIs on th same router

I have a Cisco 2851 voice bundle. Is it possible to take two VWIC 1MFT-T1 modules and use one for a voice PRI and one for a voice T1 line? I think I read that you couldn't do it with a 2MFT-T1 card but wasn't sure about splitting it up but still on the same router.... I also have a data T1 via a 1DSU-T1V2 on the box.
    Thank!

Having 2 voice circuits (i.e. 2 T1/PRIs on a VWIC-2MFT-T1 .. is that supported by Cisco? and what about having 1 T1/PRI for Voice and 1 T1 for Data on the same VWIC-2MFT-T1 card. I had a lot of clients running with both scenarios above and some of them are having clocking issues and Telco is saying the circuits are clean. Is that something to do with the internal clocking of the router in order to sync the DSPs?

  • Is Your Internet In The Fast Lane?

Just as we keep our car ready to roll by periodically checking the air in its tires and getting it tuned up, small-business owners can keep their operation in the fast lane with reliable broadband and communications services.
And now’s the time to act. For the next six weeks, until June 27, Verizon is offering small businesses free FiOS Internet-speed upgrade. For instance, a small-business owner who orders a new FiOS Internet and voice bundle with equal upload/download speeds of 50 megabits per second will pay the price of our 25/25 Mbps service for a two-year term agreement.
Why’s that important? The level of upload activity on the FiOS network is expected to double by late 2016 and to continue to grow, according to Verizon’s projections. In addition, with the Internet of Things fast becoming a reality for small businesses, equal download and upload speeds will be essential for operations. If you have a number of devices using the same broadband connection, then a faster Internet speed can prevent delays in sending and receiving files.
If you aren’t sure how fast your current Internet service is, click here to test your speed.
As you review your broadband and communications needs, you also might want to consider adding TV to entertain your customers and inform your employees. Verizon’s Custom TV (http://vz.to/TVforSmallbiz) solution allows you to pay only for the types of channels that will best interest your customers or employees.
For more information or to speak to one of Verizon’s expert small-business consultants, call 800-VERIZON (800-837-4966) or click here (http://vz.to/SpeedUpGrade). If Twitter is your preferred mode of communication, reach out to us @VZSmallBiz.
Verizon is ranked Highest in Customer Satisfaction with Very Small Business Wireline Service in the J.D. Power “J.D. Power 2014 U.S. Business Wireline Satisfaction Study”sm. The company was ranked highest for overall satisfaction, which includes the following factors: performance and reliability, customer service, communications, sales reps, cost of service and billing.

But still no IPv6 or up todate plans for IPv6. Time for Verizon Landline (meaning DSL and FIOS - not Verizon Wireless) to get with it.
