how can i add voice effects to a video!

You need to supply much more information.
For example: Which video app are you using?
In which format is the video?
I presume you want to add the effects post production, so to speak, not live.

  • Where have the voice effects gone on my Audigy sound ca

    Hi
I have a Sound Blaster Audigy with the latest drivers.
In the EAX Console i find the sound effects, but only the environmental ones, not the voice effects (Chipmunk, Alien, Zeus etc..).
I have another 2 Creative cards which i bought earlier which had those effects: Li've 4. and an Audigy 2 ZS.
The Audigy 2 ZS i have on another computer has the exact same Surrond Mixer, EAX Console and the other sound card settings, but in that one i can find the voice effects under the EAX Console.
Does this mean my sound card doesn't support these? It doesn't make any sense.
Or do i need to use another driver?
Also the environmental effects list is a lot shorter than in the other 2 cards.
Thanks in advanceMessage Edited by Liran on 05-08-2006 05:04 AM

Hi Thanks for the reply - the rendering option is greyed out...I've just updated graphics drivers and this has made no difference. I've read that the Mercury engine won't support some GPUs and they have to be enabled manually, but have no idea if this is what is happening here...all I do know is that 2 weeks ago I was using the feather effect and now I'm not able to and all the accelerated affects are now greyed out.
I'm using windows 7, 64 bit - same result on premiere pro CC and CS6...

  • How can I record EAX voice effect

    Hi,
I have a SB 5. board in my machine and in EAX Control Panel I've beeing joking a lot with some voice effects like Zeus or Chipmunk.
But when I try to record my Microphone sound using any kind of program, those effects are not recorded, only my normal voice. For voice chats, the result is the same: I can hear my voice modified but other people don't.
So, how should I proceed to record those effects and/or make then 'hearable' for other people thru voiced chats like MSN or SKYPE ?
    Thank you,
    Kurt

    See User's Manual page 3-3.
If you do not have a manual you find it here from
If your card is Bulk then you find the manual from here.
If you do not have the Creative Surround Mixer -software then install it first
    (bundled with your card (CD)).
The rec level is the red (left most) slider and the source selector is above the
slider. Select there "What U hear".

  • Isolating voice effects/enhancement to tracks

    Hey all,
I'm having trouble isolating voice effects such as autotune to the voice only during a playback or recording. Autotune seems to tamper with the piano sounds and other instruments. I want to effects to influence the voice only and leave the piano sounds alone. How do I do this?

if you use an effect on a single track, not the Master track, it will affect only that track.
you'll need to explain in detail what you're doing/your setup if this appears to not be the case

  • Quacking sound with voice effects

I'm using GarageBand as an 'open mic' processor to add vocal effects live (using Soundflower to carry the output to other apps). Whatever effects I use, there is an echo on the monitored sound, which sounds distinctly like a 'quack'. Altering the recording level does not make it disappear, just makes it louder or quieter along with the vocal.
This is not feedback. I am using the internal mic, but monitoring through earphones. The noise is in GarageBand as changing the output from Soundflower to the built-in speakers makes no difference either.
What's causing this distortion? Could it be the mic itself? (Unlikely - removing voice effects stops the noise).

    sounds distinctly like a 'quack'.

  • Why does my voice effect change the way my music sounds too?

I have an instrumental track that I was recording my voice over and I put my vocals in the Mouse Effect. When I played it back my music was in the mouse effect too. How can I just have my voice in Mouse effect and my music with no effect when I record? It says no effect on the music track, but it still sounds like a mouse.

No. I notice that it only happens when I split the track. I wanted the music to start at a certain point so I split it so it would start in the middle.

  • Radio Station Voice Effect?

    Dear Audition forum community,
    I have 1 beginners question.
I have some voice recordings of myself and I'm trying to implement them in a video.
But it came to my mind that it would be a great addition if i could somewhat change my voice to sound a bit more like those voices we hear on radio.
I really don't know how to describe it (my english vocabulary isnt the greatest i apologize) but its kinda lower and it has some effect to it... i hope you know what i'm talking about.
Could someone guide me trough the process of doing it in audition?
    Thank you very much,
    Azure

Whatever you do, it will still sound like you, I'm afraid! You can shift the pitch down a bit, but it invariably sounds like, well - a pitch-shifted voice.
The people with these deep, dark voices in radio stations do several things to help them sound more like themselves than they really are, if you see what I mean. Mostly it involves smoking about 40 cigarettes a day until it wrecks your throat, drinking copious quantities of Bourbon, etc and very importantly, getting close to the right mic and talking relatively quietly. Now, some of these jocks are born with the 'right' voice and don't have to do the first two things, but even they will talk close-up and quiet, because that works, regardless.
The problem with your original recordings is that almost invariably, they weren't recorded like this. And there's nothing you can do by processing that will fix this - it's something you can only get right with the microphone itself and the appropriate use of your voice, I'm afraid - you have to get it in the right register, and this only really happens when you are speaking relatively quietly.
When I said the 'right' mic, the choice you make of this can make a big difference too. Generally these are old dynamic or sometimes ribbon mics that get used, as they are particularly suitable for this type of sound. They aren't necessarily cheap either - the sort of thing you'd need if you were buying new would be something like a Shure SM7B.

  • Possible to make calls with Google Voice account through iChat?

I have a Google Voice account (have for a while now), which allows me to make calls through VOIP. I've recently lost phone service and have noticed that an option when making calls in Google Voice is through Google Chat.
Now, I can never get Google Chat to work on my Macbook, so I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to get it to work with iChat.
I have signed into my Google account through iChat, but when I make calls in Google Voice and I select to call through Google Chat, it says "Calling You" like it would if I were using my phone as the proxy, but it doesn't do anything.

I think I figured out how I want to do this.
For others in similar situations (this is assuming you HAVE a Google Voice account, which they don't give out anymore, AFAIK), go to http://www.google.com/talk/ and download the plug-in on the left. Install it, then open up your gmail in browser. On the left side, there will be a section that can let you make calls directly from your computer. SUCCESS!!

  • Raspy voice effect... possible?

    Hi there, thanks for reading.
As an introduction, let me say that I've never done any sound editing, of any type. The only reason I have Soundbooth, in fact, is because it came with the Creative Suite. But now that I have it, I might as well attempt to use it, eh?
So, as you may have guessed by the title, I'd like to take a voice recording, and apply some effects to it to make it sound more raspy. I was able to almost get the effect that I wanted in Premiere by using the PitchShifter Effect, and lowering the pitch to -12 semitone; but there was still something... off. I'm afraid my limited knowledge of sound editing makes it difficult to say what was wrong with it, except that it wasn't quite raspy enough... or, something.
So, is there some effects that I should be using, or something else that I should be doing? A nudge, push, or shove in the right direction is greatly appreciated.

    Much appreciated, _durin_. Cheers.
Although, there's still that slight off-ness that I was talking about before. Like it's... slightly robotic, or not "wet" enough? I can't describe it well, I'm afraid, since I've no idea what the terminology would be. I suppose that makes it that much more difficult to give advice. Thanks for the reply, though.

  • Dis-enable sound effects on ichat

While using ichat is there a way to mute the sound effects (ie the woosh from peoples change of status, or beep from someone chatting) while still being able to listen to music on itunes?
    Thanks,

    Hi, Richard.
One question: are you using USB speakers? Have you tested this using only the internal speakers on your iMac?
    Good luck!

  • Voice effects plug in?

I have Garage Band 08.  I love the different effects you can use to change a voice.  Is there somewhere that offers an abundance of different effects I could plug in?
    Thanks!

Melodyne. I can't recommend it enough. It's realtively cheap for what it does. It can make average vocals sound amazingly in tune and still real sounding. Yuo can also create harmonies with it - hours of fun.
It truly is an amazing bit of kit. Like a mobile phone - beofre I had one I didn't miss it...

  • Phone Voice Effect

Hello, I am looking to make a phone conversation. I am wondering if there is a preset effect to make someone sound like they are going through a phone. I figure I can mess around with the graphic EQ to get it, but I bet there's a good one out there. Anyone know of anything??
    thanks,
    Toolius

  • Audio effects - lets get Apple to add to next iChat

Here's something fun to try, funny audio effects during ichats
If you've played around with GarageBand you may have noticed if you add a vocal track there are settings for altering your voice, some to improve the quality, others to be funny (male to female, cartoon voice, etc. check the detailed settings under vocal transformer)
Using a program called soundflower you can route the audio out of GarageBand and into the input for iChat ( the settings can be a little confusing at times) but then you can ichat and have fun talking in funny voices
If you like it make sure you Feature request it to Apple, like I have already done, Audio effects would make a great addition just like video effects have.

Are you serious? I'm running 10.4.9 right now I can't hear anything on iTunes until the 2nd or 3rd volume setting. Yes, I have sound check and everything else off.
Don't even wanna imagine what it will be like again when I have to go to 10.4.10.
