Voice mail as last stop for hunt group

Hello:
We have no ACD ability, so I have a hunt group set up with 3 extensions (one each as second line on each of 3 phones). If no one is available on any of the hunt extensions, I want it to go to a shared voice mail box.
Can anyone help me know if this is do-able and how (nothing I've tried has worked!). Using CM 6.1/Unity 5.0
Thank you,
Linda

Hi Linda,
This is most possible :) I'm going to add a touch to the great info from Tere (+5 points for this Tere)
In this example we are going to do what you are trying to do as well as Light the MWI Lamp on the phones within the Line Group when a Message is left for the group.
Lets say the Hunt Pilot number is 5000 and one of the second line DN's on the Line Group member phones is 2355. Set the Hunt Pilot to Forward (CFNA) to the Unity Pilot #.
If you don't use a Routing Rule as nicely suggested by Tere you can Create a mailbox for 2355 with 5000 as an Alternate Extension. When the call routes through to Unity via the Hunt Pilot No Answer Unity should see the CLID of 5000 which will then be connected to the Mailbox on 2355. This will take care of one of the Line Group Member phones but we want to light the Lamp on the second and third phone as well :)
Try setting the the DN's of the other two Line Group members as Alternate MWI's (in Unity) as well;
Setting Up Alternate MWIs for Extensions on the Same Phone System
Cisco Unity can activate alternate MWIs for extensions on the same phone system. Note that depending on the phones and phone systems, some additional phone system programming may be necessary. Refer to the installation guide for the phone system.
To enable alternate MWIs for extensions on the same phone system, do the following procedure for each subscriber who needs alternate MWIs.
To Set Up Alternate MWIs for Extensions on the Same Phone System
Step 1 In the Cisco Unity Administrator, go to the applicable Subscribers > Subscribers > Messages page.
Step 2 Confirm that the Use MWI for Message Notification check box is checked.
Step 3 Click the Add button located beneath the MWI Extensions table to add a row to the table. By default, the first row in the table contains an "X" to indicate the primary extension assigned to a subscriber. If you want one more extension and do not need to activate the MWI on the primary extension, you can also modify the first row.
Step 4 Enter the applicable extension in the Extension field of the table. MWIs are automatically enabled for all rows in the table. When entering characters in the MWI Extensions table, consider the following:
•Enter digits 0 through 9. Do not use spaces, dashes, or parentheses.
•Enter , (comma) to insert a one-second pause.
•Enter # and * to correspond to the # and * keys on the phone.
Step 5 Click the Save icon.
Step 6 Repeat Step 3 through Step 5 as necessary.
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/unity/401/integration/guide/c50acu4x.html#wp1808513
Then tweak the Message Lamp Setting in CCM for the second Line appearances;
For the second Line Setting on (each phone)-
Line Settings for this Device - Changes affect only this device
Message Waiting Lamp Policy - Light and Prompt
The RED Message Lamp will then work for these Second lines on each phone.
Hope this helps!

  • CSCth95017 - Configurable parameter on how callingparty is displayed for hunt groups.

    Hello all,
    The "fixed-in" versions for this bug are listed below;
    Fixed in:                          (5)
    9.0(0.98000.74),9.0(0.98000.21),8.6(4.98000.21)
    8.6(2.21023.1),1.9(9.98000.16)
    But the bug is related to firmware and the "fixed-in" versions look like CUCM versions;
    Symptom:
As of phone load 9.x and higher, calls to a hunt pilot show the following format for the calling party on the ringing phone.
From 'Calling Party Name' for 'hunt pilot DN'
i.e.  From John Doe for XXXX
    The previous format was
From 'Calling Party Name' ('Calling Party Number')
    i.e.  From John Doe (XXX-XXX-XXXX)
Need a configurable parameter to change the format to the previous format if the customer desires.
    Conditions:
Occurs on phone loads 9.0(x) and above.
    Workaround:
    Downgrade to 8.4.x
Can anyone clarify the "fixed-in" versions for this bug and where the versions are available for download.
    Cheers!
    Rob

Hi Rob,  The original documentation highlighted this as a phone issue. You have a good eye to catch this. The ultimate resolution was committed on the server side. I updated the bug Release-note to include more information about the fix. You will see that in Bug Toolking and Bug Search Tool in 24-48 hours.  Looks like it was necessary to change the information CUCM was sending out in order for the phones to leverage that information. Here is what I added to the bug: New Service Parameter :  "Display Hunt Pilot Name or DN for Hunt Group Calls When Alerting"  Default Value : True ? Default behavior will be new behavior from 8.x . For customers who want the previous behavior of  7.x  will have to set this parameter to false after upgrade.   Call Processing Fix from SCCP and SIP Side :   -       For Hunt Pilot calls, CUCM will not send Hunt Pilot URI to in outgoing INVITE when this service parameter is false but internally CUCM still treats this call as Hunt pilot call so that we do not break other features. -       For Hunt Pilot calls, CUCM will send the HP URI to phone when this SP is true.   For the versions above: 9.0(0.98000.74) - this is an internal nightly  build (.98xxx.). this *may* get it included in 9.0(1) 9.0(0.98000.21) - this is an internal nightly  build (.98xxx.). this *may* get it included in 9.0(1) 8.6(4.98000.21) - this is an internal nightly  build (.98xxx.). this *may* get it included in 8.6(5) 8.6(2.21023.1) - this gets it fixed in 8.6(2) engineering special branch commonly referred to as es23. TAC can provide this to you. This *may* get it included in the next 8.6.2su that gets posted to Cisco.com. 1.9(9.98000.16) - this appears to be a typo.  Regards, Wes

  • Mail Service Keeps Stopping For No Reason

Hi There everyone. Over the past few days my Mail Service keeps stopping. Not giving any particular error, the only clue is this log message:-

Is that helpful? I can start the service again and it seems OK... for a few hours then it stops again.
I have tried, reconstructing and repairing until I am blue in the face. Any other suggestions please? Thanks in advance.

  • HT4623 My voice mail has suddenly stopped working. A caller just hears ringing for a long tome and then it disconnects. Does anyone know how to get it back or how VM stopped working? Thanks.

Hi everyone. My voicemail just stopped working. A caller today said they got a message that it was not activated or something like that. When I called it from another phone all I got was ringing for a long time and then a disconnect. I have had this phone for about three months and it has been working until now.
I updated software and turned the phone off and on again. Any other suggestions? Thanks.

I know this email is confusing and really hard to understand...perhaps now you will know how i've been feeling--lost and confused with all the mis-information, with a hit and miss phone, and out of time with all the 1 1/2 hr to 2 hrs EACH wasted on this issue.
On top of all this, I can't even find out how to file a complaint with anyone higher up than Customer Service.
I hate to tell you this, but you didn't write an email. You wrote a discussion post on the Verizon Wireless Community forum which is a public peer to peer forum. Unfortunately since you didn't mark your post as a question, the VZW reps that roam this community won't ever see your post. Before you re-post it, don't. Duplicate posts get removed from the community.
I see there were several missteps both by the reps and yourself in your post. First you should have insisted on returning the phone within the 14 day return policy period. Second which Samsung Galaxy mini model did you purchase? The S3 mini or the S4 mini? Did you do any research prior to deciding on this device. The reps at that time deflected the easiest course of action, by trying to get you to replace the phone under insurance instead of returning the phone. The Early Edge payment option requires the current phone on the line using the early Edge must be returned to Verizon Wireless. Did you once considered going to a third party site like Swappa to purchase a gently used device for your daughter?

  • Strange voice mail

     I have Prepaid Plus.
This evening I started to receive voice mails that were sent back in April. I remember receiving them back then, and deleting them.
Why would I start getting these voice mails now? And for some reason I can't find how to delete them, or stop them.
     Please advise.
     Thanks,
     Bob Burns

When you listen to the voicemail, do you heard the option to click a certain number to delete the message?
No. Usually the number 7 is used to delete an e-mail/message, but there was no choice in this case.
Are the voicemails coming from the same person?
There was only one such mesage, and is no longer in my phone. I did nothing to delete it though.
Are the messages coming back as a message saved in drafts or as a new message?
It was as a new message.
     Thanks for the reply.

  • Visual Voice Mail App?

I just got my phone, set up voicemail but there is no visual voice mail app in my applications so I can't set it up.  I tried to add the app through the Market Place but it said my phone already has it.  Where is it??

I had the same problem.  I ordered Visual Voice Mail, but could not find the app on my Samsung Stratosphere.  When I opened Voice Mail, the last menu option was, "Order Visual Voice Mail - $2.99" -- which made no sense, because it was already ordered and paid for.  I finally clicked on this button, and voila!  Underneath, there is another option if you already subscribed to Visual Voice.  Just enter your standard voice mail password, and Visual Voice sets itself up as the default view under the Voice Mail icon.
Verizon needs to update the UI to make this option clearer for users.

  • 7961GE Hunt Group ringing name

Our shop has been exclusively 7961Gs for 7 years now.  We recently purchased some 7961GEs and are noticing that when a phone is part of a Hunt Group, the Hunt Group no longer displays on the inbound call.  On the 7961Gs it would say the From: <Caller> For: <Hunt Group> .
Our Help Desk personnel love the 1Gbit speed, but hate not knowing if the incoming call is for them or the Help Desk.
    Any help is much appreciated!!
    Thank you,

    Hi Whammer,
    I'm guessing the new 7961GE's are running a pre - 9.0 firmware;
    It sounds like this bug
CSCth95017 - Configurable parameter on how callingparty is displayed for hunt groups.
    Description
    Symptom:
As of phone load 9.x and higher, calls to a hunt pilot show the following format for the calling party on the ringing phone.
From 'Calling Party Name' for 'hunt pilot DN'
i.e.  From John Doe for XXXX
    The previous format was
From 'Calling Party Name' ('Calling Party Number')
    i.e.  From John Doe (XXX-XXX-XXXX)
Need a configurable parameter to change the format to the previous format if the customer desires.
    Conditions:
Occurs on phone loads 9.0(x) and above.
    Workaround:
    Downgrade to 8.4.x

  • Is there a way to turn your voice mail off

On the i phone 5 c is it possible to turn voice mail off ? I do not want voice mail.

        strawnw88,
Thanks for your question! I have some good news for you.  Voicemail on the iPhone 5c is optional.  You can choose not to set it up if you don't have a use for it.  If you've already set it up on your end, then we may need to disable from the network side.
Let us know if you need further assistance with this!

  • Are Looping Hunt Groups a liability?

Over the years I've come across several requests for Hunt Groups that basically keep calls looping around until someone picks up. To the users these calls are so important that they don’t want them ending on a mailbox. However, I’ve heard a few times that this is not best practice because it could create all sort of issues. Is there any truth to this? And if so, what would be the recommended approach given the fact the call must keep ringing until someone picks up?
Thanks in advance for your help! It’s alway greatly appreciated.

    Brian,
    1. There is not a distintive ring option in CM. You could create a 2nd line on your user's phones and add those lines to the hunt. From there the user can select a different ring for the line (this is a local phone option for ring).
    2. Setup alternate MWI on the group vmail box. Alternate I believe has a limit of 9. If you have more users than that then create a DN on each of their phones with the same # of the voicemail box. If that number is the original vmail pilot that is a CTI or other device then you wont be able to do that but you could create another DN and use a translation and the Multiple Tenant MWI option in CM service. Reply back if you need more detail.
    3. MWI is turned off. The message stays in the group mailbox, there is no forwarding unless the user manually forwards it.
    4. Not by default and I don't believe you have that option but not totally sure.

  • Hunt Group and Voice Mail - How?

    Hello,
We are setting up a Hunt Group (Line Group, Hunt List, Hunt Pilot) for call distribution. We don?t want to use the Attendant console for this, we just want the calls distributed. We need to send some calls and broadcast them to different phones. We have it working but we have a need that if no one answers to send the call to voicemail.
The way we have it configured right now?
    Line Group:
    Broadcast Distribution
2 Lines ? Client Phone Lines
    Hunt List:
    Line Group Above
    Hunt Pilot:
    Number & Information Configured
    Hunt List Above
What we planned on doing was to take and add a second line group with a single number that is forwarded to voicemail. Then in the hunt list, if no one answers the fist group, go to the second. The problem is, CTI Ports and CTI Route Points don?t seem to be able to be added to the Line Group.
Someone suggested that I add a ?fake? phone and forward the line to voicemail. I tried that and when I call that number it goes to voicemail but when I add it to the Line Group it rings fast busy when it rolls to it.
    Any ideas?

I did understand you do not want the attendant console, which is why I said similar but using AC.
The key thing in my earlier reply is that the last member of my hunt group is another CTI routepoint with another DN which is the actual directory number I use in Unity as an alternate extension, but it might be that this does not work for you.
For your case it might be something like:
On the xisting CTI routepoint configure the forward no answer to VM (this works today, correct?)
Then add another CTI route point to your hunt list and configure that CTI route point with forward all to VM.
Then setup Unity with the DN for the first CTI route point and add the DN of the second CTI route point as an alternate extension.
That way I believe it will go to VM directly when no huntgroup members are available, and go to VM if no answer.
Again, this works for me, with the only difference my line group contains AC users and is not broadcast, but the principle would be the same I guess.
But I might be misunderstanding what you are trying to achieve. If so, I am sorry for misunderstanding ;-)
    Thanks,
    Leo

  • My iphone 4 speakers stopped giving me sounds when i play audio or video even while gaming. It works fine when ringing tunes of for voice mails. What is wrong with it?

My iphone 4 speakers stopped giving me sounds when i play audio or video even while gaming. It works fine when ringing tunes of for voice mails, even works fine with headsets. What is wrong with it?

well i'd seriosly say point a hot hair drier at the speakers as water has entered the phone most commonly via the home button but avoid getting it too hot let it cool every 3 minutes after constant drying. Don't worry I have honestly dont this with my iPhone 4 GSM 16GB. For future reference avoid letting it get wet.

  • How to stop voice mail password pop up on iphone 5

How do you stop the voice mail password pop up on the i phone 5?

Call your carrier & have them reset your voicemail. Then set such up with a password. Voicemail is a carrier feature, not a phone feature & most carriers require a password for such.

  • Introducing broadcast hunt-group service for CME

    Hello,
Due to popular demand I wrote this script for the purpose of ringing simultaneously more than one ephone without using shared lines. Like the broadcast hunt-group available for SIP phones, or in CCM.
    http://pbevila.fastmail.fm/public/bcast.tcl
I haven't tested it completely, currently it works only when all the destinations are SCCP phones, although the objective is to allow mix and match of SCCP phones, SIP phones, pots DPs, etc.
Please try it and send any feedback here.

    HI Paolo
I'm attempting to take advantage of your broadcast script you have produced. I'm having a few problems not getting the calls to broadcast. At the moment I'm just playing around with it on a standalone CME with 4 stand 7941 phones. I have used the following config and also shown the output:
    application
    service bcast flash:bcast.tcl
    Jan 4 10:45:47.139: //-1//HIFS:/hifs_ifs_cb: hifs ifs file read succeeded. size=5571, url=flash:bcast.tcl
    Jan 4 10:45:47.139: //-1//HIFS:/hifs_free_idata: hifs_free_idata: 0x457E9518
    Jan 4 10:45:47.139: //-1//HIFS:/hifs_hold_idata: hifs_hold_idata: 0x457E9518
    param destinations 201,202
Warning: parameter destinations has not been registered under bcast namespace
    I have then used:
    dial-peer voice 100 pots
    description broadcast hunt-group
    service bcast
    incoming called-number 555
    failing call flow:
    7941(1) - > 555 -> CME-> Broadcast (phone2,Phone3)
When I try to dial 555 from one of the phones it just comes up with number unknown and fails to broadcast. I am also running with cme 3.3 but can upgrade if needed. Also I have no analogue lines just pure VOIP at the moment. I think its some thing to do with the dial-peer?

  • Jabber for Windows client Voice Mail issue

    hi, cisco guys
i have a collaboration test for my customer in resent days.
the follow picture is the topo of my test system
       1.  cucm1 use ICT non-GK trunk to connected with cucm2 and the ip phones with dn 56xx registered on cm1
the iphones and jabber clients with dn 54xx registered on cm2
       2. cm2 intergrated with Unity Connection server and  Cups server
the version of cm1 and cm2 and unity connection is 8.6.2-21900
the version of cups is 8.6.4
      3.  the issue occurrenced when the ip phone user 5412 call to 5411 but no answered, user 5412 sent a
voice mail to user 5411,only MVI of the ip phone 9951 with dn 5411 turned on but jabber client wihtout any prompt message
but when the user 5665 which  registered on cm1 called user 5411 and sent a voice mail , status in normal,
mvi turned on , the jabber client also can  recived the prompt message and the the vocie mail could be played on the jabber client
what's the issue  probably be caused by & how can i solve it
          need your help!!!!

I don't know if you have a specific subnets permitted in the CUPS ACL
This is dangerous and incorrect guidence. The Incoming ACL allows the addresses defined to bypass authentication. In other words, I could impersonate your CEO if I wanted to. There are only two common use cases where doing this is appropriate: 1) the CUxAC server IP; or 2) older versions of CCX where CAD didn't support DIGEST authentication.
As for the original question: your English is difficult to understand. Is the following problem statement accurate?
When 5412 on CM2 leaves a voicemail for 5411 on CM2, the MWI is lit for 5411 but Jabber does not reflect the waiting message?
If this is accurate, is the message also shown in the Web Inbox? https:///inbox
The serverIP should be the CUC server defined in the voicemail profile on CUPS for the user who owns 5411.

  • Jabber can not enter the PIN for voice mail

I installed Cisco Jabber 8.6 on the android mobile,And registered jabber to CUCM8.0. In the same time, CUCM8.0 integrated with Unity Connection8.0 via SCCP, Everything is normal.
Tested using any of a telephone call Jabber, it can received voice mail, and shows have a voice mail on the android mobile. then, Hear the tone of the Connection system :"please enter your PIN." However, in any case the PIN can not be submit to the Unity Connection, System reminded over and over again:please enter your PIN.......
I guess the mobile's dial pad can not be supported by Unity Connection, Or other reasons.
    help!!!

The Android client is a SIP device and uses RFC2833 for DTMF relay. Unity Connection supports RFC2833 when integrated with either SCCP or SIP. The first question that comes to mind: is the call invoking a transocder/MTP that would be in the media path? For example, if Jabber is using G.729 and you haven't enabled that on CXN or you're requiring a TRP.
I would start with a Wireshark capture from the CXN server to see: a) what the far-end IP address is for the RTP packets; and, b) whether you see the RFC2833 packets arrive. If the sender IP isn't the Jabber client a media resource got invoked which may be dropping the RFC2833 packets. If the IP is correct but you don't see the RFC2833 packets arrive you could then run a Wireshark or collect SDI logs with SIP stack trace enabled from the CUCM node that Jabber is registered to. That would allow you to see the SDP negotiation at call setup to see if RFC2833 even gets negotiated.
