Voice mail does not list contact just number

My new iPhone does not recognize incoming calls by name, just by the phone number. It automatically puts a 1 in front of the nine digit phone number; in my contact list, they are just listed by the 9 digit phone number. How do I get the phone to recognize the person calling by removing the one?

The Call Greeting Message setup option has completely disappeared from SKYPE.
The web site says to access "Tools > Options > Calls > Voice messages" to setup the greeting message feature. Well, the link does not exist in the current version.
I have been a paid subscriber since 2003. I rely on the call answering message feature to take my calls when I am unavailable. And now Skype has deleted the feature without even the courtesy of informing me in advance. I am pissed to the nines about this screwup!!!
Since 2003 when I adopted Skype as my ONLY phone service, I have seen this product go steadily down hill. But in 2003 it was the only choice available. Skype is the MOST UNRESPONSIVE vendor I have ever encountered. And apparently they've gotten even worse since Microsoft bought the company.
This is absolutely the "last straw". The next time this comes up for renewal I WILL NOT RENEW!

Visual Voicemail is all carrier side, funny enough. Apple can't really do anything to troubleshoot it because it's outside of their realm. Be sure to contact your cellular carrier for further assistance

Iphone 5 update to IOS 7, now visual voice mail does not work

I updated my Iphone 5 today to ios 7 and when it was done I noticed that when I went into the phone app and tapped on the voice mail icon it immediately dialed into voice mail. Visual voice mail was not there. I looked into some forums and turned on/off airplane mode, turned the phone off and on and reset network settings but it did not work. I absolutely love the new iOS 7 update. It brings a whole new dimension to Apple devices. Let's make sure your visual voicemail continues to run on the new software.
Are you able to access other data applications successfully such as Safari? Are you having a similar issue where if you hit the visual voicemail icon it just auto dials your voicemail? Have you tried leaving yourself a voicemail as suggested by zona?

When I touch the voicemail icon it dials directly to the voice mail. There is no option to setup greeting or use speaker or delete or replay...

Yes. It is active and I am receiving messages. The thing is that when I touch the phone icon and then the voicemail icon it does not show the Voicemail screen where I can change the greeting or choose to listen by speaker or call back button option or delete button option..... It just calls the voicemail box directly.

Visual voice mail does not sync/reconcile with icon notification

new to blackberry... have the Tour 9630 and so far am very happy but am having a few issues with visual voice mail:
1) the visual voicemail inbox does not register new voicemails... I continually have to manually "resync mailbox," even if I wait 20-30 mins for a voicemail to register once I get a standard notification
2) Once I listen to a visual voicemail and delete it, the notification icon on the Home screen does not reconcile that they've been listened to.... even if I've listened to them hours ago.
3) I'd rather not receive 3 notifications of a new voicemail in my main inbox... I get notification from 1) the icon on the Home screen, 2) from the "new Voicemail" message, and (when working) 3) from visual voicemail. I've looked but can't find how to set a preference to filter such redundant messages.

Hi.
I would do a battery pull and see it the icon returns to normal.
I would then call your BB and leave a VM. See if you can clear the icon when you clear the VM.
The other options is calling Verizon and ask them to reset your voice mail options and clear all messages.

No data will be lost when doing the following: pull the battery while the device is ON.
Replace after a minute, Let the device reboot 1-3 min, see if the problem is fixed.

Just upgraded to OS Mavericks and my delete key in Mail does not delete it just moves the cursor up

I just upgraded to OS Mavericks. In Mail my delete key does not delete. When I hit delete the message above the one I was reading is highlighted. How can I fix this?

open up a terminal (either type in "terminal" in spotlight search (the magnify glass in top right corner) or in the Finder (New Folder Window) Applications -> Utilities -> Terminal) and enter:
defaults write com.apple.mail IgnoreSortOrderWhenSelectingAfterDelete 1

The voice mail does not come as attachment for new users

We have installed the unity 7.0 as the unified messaging, the existing exchange was 2007, everything was working fine, now we have got exchange 2010, and the new users to be added are in the new exchange 2010, but in the same container. so we tried running the permission wizard, it went through, we noticed one thing during the permission wizard at the step where we select the mail store (screen says select Mailstores exchange mailstore) I do not see the 2010 server.
Please let me know what are the things need to be done on unity and exchange if we are moving from the exchange 2007 to 2010.

There are very specific instructions on how to migrate to Exchange 2010. If the steps are not followed precisely in order, Unity will not function properly:

I am trying to sync my iPhone onto a macbook . It has downloaded photos, music, voice memos but not my contacts phone number etc. Can anyone help me? I ultimately want to transfer onto my new iPhone.

DId you make sure you checked that the contacts box is checked marked to sinc? when you go into Itunes click your phone then next to summery there should be a tab called info click that and make sure your contacts is marked then click apply

Just upgraded to iOS5 on iPad. Music app and mail does not work properly.

Just upgraded iPad2 to iOS5. Music app does not work properly. When I select a song to play, it plays a different song. Sometimes, it just stops playing songs, other times, it shuffles songs.
Not sure whats going on.
Worked fine using iOS4.3.5.
Synced the iPad to iCloud. enabled mail. It shows under settings that the iCloud mail is setup, but the mail does not appear in the mail app. Not sure whats happening with these functions on iOS5.

I am also having problems with a site I am building. No matter what websafe font I use it displays as New Times Roman in FireFox. The correct fonts show in both IE9 and Chrome.
In addition, text shifts in FireFox. I have to position other text objects farther and farther apart as I go down the page or they start to overlap. Nav buttons and other images also have to be positioned in the wrong place for them to be in the correct place when the page is opened in FireFox. FireFox should display pages correctly by default. I can't expect th average user to have to tweek his/her settings to display my site.
I have been recommending FireFox on my website as the best browser. I might have to change that and abandon FireFox myself.

Please try the following:
Delete the Adobe PCD folder and caps.db file:
Windows: \Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe PCD
\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\caps\caps.db
Launch Acrobat and enter the serial number and check.

Open the system menu via Alt+Space or click the Firefox icon on the title bar and see if you can resize that window.
If that works then close Firefox to save that setting.

Mail does not show all mails from the same sender

I have a problem with Mail - maybe an undiscovered bug? I play lotto on the free online platform www.freelotto.com. Each day freelotto sends me 6 mail receipts for any individual lotto game I took part of. The sender is always the same in each of these mails.
When I receive these mails on my iphone I got all the six mails I expected. The same on my ipad. But in Mail on my Mac (same settings) I got just four. Two mails are always missing!!! I have no idea why. The are not in the SPAM or any other folder (also not in the recycle bin). They are just missing at all. I also checked my mail provider but those two mails are not longer on the mail server. So Mail must have received them - but does not list them.
What can I do?
