I have lost all of my voice memos after upgrading to iOS 8.1.  I can't even find them when I restore from backup.  AND I can't access my backup via iCloud.  HELP!  These were irreplaceable memos.  Any suggestions?

  • Lost voice memos after iOS 8 update

Before my very eyes all my Voice Memos disappeared off my iPhone 5s after the IOS 8.0.2 upgrade. The application was doing some weird things before it deleted every Voice Memo - wobbling and shimmering. Any ideas anyone?

  • Lost voice memos after ios 7

I just realized my voice memos were gone.
    I'm using cloud for backup.
    Memos definitely aren't in iTunes.
Tried several free trials of 79 dollar programs and am not seeing memos.
I'd do almost anything to get these back. And suggestions or gurus I could pay?
    Thanks,

  • Can I recover non-backed up voice memos after accidental restore?

I went to the apple store genius bar when the camera is my phone ( (iOS6) was failing.  they asked if my phone was backed up and I said yes, but actually had not backed it up in 3 weeks.  I had unchecked the auto-sync button pn my ma because my hard drive was too full, and before going to the apple store, clicked on the Sync button, which is not the Backup button --so I screwed up and thought it was backed up.
I actually had 3 weeks of very important voice memos and have been trying to recover them ever since.  several geniuses said they thoguht there was software that would help, but I have had no luck.  an iphone engineer told me he didn't think it was possible.  clearly, if this was a regular hard drive or flash drive, it would be posisble to recover data after reformatting, as long as the data was not overwritten.  however, the iphone encryption seems to be the difference here.
since my phone still has the camera issue and was under warranty, apple has offered me a new phone but I have held off, as I still am trying to find a way to get my data.
anyone know how--or is it totally impossible?
    thanks

As long as you don’t disable the automatic sync option in iTunes, it will automatically generate a backup for your iOS device when you plug your device into your Mac or PC, and the backup file updates along with your every sync. So it is certainly sure and easy to restore iPhone from iTunes backup with Vibosoft iTunes data recovery. That is, you can recover your iPhone/iPad/iPod data from the recent iTunes backup whenever the data is missing.

  • IPhone syncs Voice Memos after unchecking sync box in iTunes

I do not want to sync my voice memos from my iphone to itunes so i have unchecked the sync voice memos option and they still continue to sync over and itunes creates a playlist for voice memos. I have tried this numerous times and even after a restore it still happens? Anyone have any ideas?

It will happen automatically. iTunes always syncs voice memos to your iTunes library when you connect iPhone to your computer. All you can do is delete them or ignore them.
Keep in mind that if you delete a voice memo on iPhone, it isn’t deleted from the Voice Memos playlist in iTunes. However, if you delete a voice memo from iTunes, it is deleted from iPhone the next time you sync with iTunes.
The "Include voice memos" button in the iTunes Music pane for your phone is only for syncing your voice memos playlist back to the phone.

  • Voice memos in ios 7: lengths not set at first

    Hello;
I intended to write this as a question about what happened to an important voice memo that
I recorded yesterday, but going through what I did yesterday leads me to believe that I actually
deleted it because I thought it was empty.
I just upgraded to ios 7 on my iphone 4.  Yesterday was my first experience using the new
voice memo app.  It is my practice to record audio of class meetings and then the post an
mp3 file to the cloud.  At the end of class, I noticed that a voice memo had been recording as
I expected.  I don't recall if I paused recording then hit "Done" or hit "Done" directly.  A dialogue
    box came up:
    > New Voice Memo
    > Enter a name for this voice memo
    > New Recording
    > Cancel OK
A student asked a question and I had to leave the room, so I didn't complete the step of naming the file
    then.
Later, I noticed a recording of zero length (0:00:00) which I thought had gotten created inadvertently
(that seemed to be easy to do in the previous version of voice memo, so I didn't think much of it).
I deleted that file.  The question remained what had happened to my recording (of about 75 minutes).
As I tried to recreate my problem now, so I coud write it up accurately, I realized that all the voice memos I
created are shown as 0 length when they first appear on the list of recordings.  As I tried this a few times,
the delay in changing the length from 0:00:00 to the correct length did vary... from almost
instantaneously up to a couple of seconds (I don't know if it depends on the length of the file: the longest
I tried now was about 30 seconds).
For what it's worth, the zeros should not be displayed at all.
    Best regards,
    Daryl

i have managed to work out what this issues is being caused by please head over to my blog, but apple needs to fix this up properly.

  • Xfer voice memos after disk crash on syncd pc

Can anyone out there tell me how to get large (~40 minute) voice memos off an iphone without syncing?
Or -  how to sync to a new itunes instance without deleting all the content on the iphone?
The old PC that the iphone was sync'd with .. crashed and died.
Meanwhile my beloved continued to add lengthy voice memos to the iphone.
I cannot now get those much desired voice memos off the iphone to a new itunes install on a different computer even though it is authorized under same ID. The sync operation threatens to erase everything on the iphone.
IOS is not up to date; it is 3x, I think (beloved has iphone on an airplane somewhere over the midwest at this moment so I can't look).

Joannep4590 you can download a fresh copy of the retail installation files for Creative Suite 6 at Download CS6 products.

  • No voice memos after iPhone 6 sync

I just backed up my iPhone 4 and set up my iPhone 6, and none of my voice memos are appearing on the iPhone 6. Any suggestions?

  • Cannot sync voice memos after reinstalling Snow Leopard

Hello - I cannot sync to my same ipod - my computer is treating it like a foreigner. I've already accepted the fact that I had to erase my photos, music, videos. I've finally decided to restore my ipod to factory settings, but I can't do that until I backup my voice memos!
I absolutely refuse to let go of those, I have almost 9 months worth of voice memos. iTunes will not sync them, regardless of whether I checked the "Sync voice memos" in the Music section of the sync section of iTunes. What should I do?
    4th gen iPod Touch
    software ver: 4.3.1
I'm pretty sure that if the iTunes is refusing to sync the files, the files are not in the backup. The backup process goes too quickly for that to be so.
    Please help!

And backing them up by email is not an option, since some of the files are over 30 minutes long.

  • Broken voice memos after sync -- any hope for recovery?

    Dear all,
I finally found where all my memos that I did not find in the Voice Memos playlist went. They were in the Unknown Album folder of Unknown Artist, being m4a files that iTunes could not analyze. These files appear to be really corrupted, as not even QuickTime opens them. This is bad, as I really would need all (these are all lectures from my last semester in school). Have you had any experience with files getting corrupted during sync, and do you have any tips to recover these?
In a bit more detail, I noticed some files missing, but as my mic had a flaky connection (Blue Mikey is said to have problems with a few iPods having unusual dock connectors), I cursed myself for not paying more attention. But now I see many more files, and I think the syncing processes during the semester sometimes went awry (the analysis of the files always takes very long, and sometimes updates disrupted the process, or I mistakenly put my MacBook to sleep).
Is there any way to recover the raw files from the iPod, or nothing else is available than the garbled sound files? If so, do you have any guess how I might still be able to open them? (Say, these are really mp3s, not m4as, so if I correct the file format... etc.)
Thank you very much, this would be really important!

And backing them up by email is not an option, since some of the files are over 30 minutes long.

  • Can't sync voice memos after updating to iTunes 11.3

Hi, since I've updated to 11.3 I can't sync my voice memos anymore.  Previously worked, now it doesn't.  No errors, I can see the messages in the phone and in iTunes when looking at the "On This iPhone" tab, but outside of that no dice.  I can't sync them and I can't email them because they are too large.
Anyone else experiencing this same problem?

I'm just going to add how much I love how it takes me 3 or 4 hours of uninstalling, reinstalling and wiping, restoring, syncing and resyncing my phone to get one simple voice memo over to my PC from my iPhone.  You guys at Apple really know convenience.  It only takes me a half a day to do what it used to take weeks to do back in the 19th century.  That's progress!

  • Lost all of my voice memos after backup.

When I backup my iPhone 3GS in 10.5 is it doing a full backup of the phone or just what is checked in sync. Because I lost all my voice memos by just "backing it up" before upgrading to iOS5.

  • Unable to retrieve voice memos after deleting once from playlist

    hi,
    I have a serious problem.....
i deleted the audio files on my mac under the "Voice Memo" playlist, as earlier i thought it only takes up space on my mac. but now i wanna send the memos to someone via Email and iphone is not allowing me as they are too big to do that so i wanna recover back the voice memo playlist.
Please note that the voice memos are on iphone under the app, but are not coming in the playlist in itunes...
Please help me out on how to get the voice memos back on my mac??

    i feel your pain
    this is so infuriating
it's great little app, and so easy to record audio on the fly.
BUT then absolutely impossible to easily transfer them to my desktop.
    infuriating

  • Where are Voice Memos after syncing?

I've recorded a heap of Voice Memos, ticked "Sync Music" also ticked "Include voice memos" - so how do I now access those Memos in iTunes, and where do they go on my Mac hard drive (they're not in Unknown Artists). It seems to me the Memos don't get synced at all. The Ipod refuses to email any more than 8 minutes long, tells me they're too big and offers to "Trim" them, to 8 min for each send - that will take hours since most of them are about an hour each!

lllaass, this may have been the solution in January, but it no longer seems to be the case.  I recorded some memos on my phone in mid-February and I've never noticed them show up in iTunes nor have I seen a Voice Memos playlist get created.
"Include voice memos" is checked under Music on the iPhone.
Creating a Voice Memos playlist in iTunes and then syncing does pull down the audio as some posts have suggested.
