Voice Memo App Downgraded?

The Voice Memo capability seems to have been downgraded in the new OS. I can't seem to pause during playback and go back to listening where I paused if I leave the app. What happened? The trim feature has also been downgraded so that you can't fast forward to listen to the end of the memo in order to verify if the trim is how you want it. It also appears the time stamp went away. Am I missing something? How did so many features get left out?
I thought with iOS 7 they would improve playback to run in the background but it didn't happen. They clearly put effort into this new version of the app so it's not like it was written off, but the functionality is now worse than it was! Recording is higher quality, but the rest of the app is not as functional as it used to be!

Backup and restore the phone in iTunes, first using the backup and if needed as a new phone, without using a backup.

IPhone 6 Voice Memos App Not Working

I love my new iPhone 6 (with current iOS 8) but one of the standard apps I always use is Voice Memos. The Voice Memo app launches but does not allow me to record anything. When I press the red record button, it simply moves back and forth like I've entered a bad password. To resolve, I've stopped and restarted the application multiple times, restarted my iPhone, etc but nothing seems to work. Any ideas or suggestions on how to resolve? Thanks.

I have several apps that no longer work. I contacted a few of them and only one responded so far to tell me they are working on an upgrade so that it will work with ios4. It seems silly to me that Apple did not make it so your current apps would work with the new software. The upgrade is cool, but there is also no explanation of how some new features work, and having trouble with apps that I have already paid for does not make me very happy. Hopefully the updates don't take too long....

Voice memos app

I will try not to sound too confusing.
I have HUNDREDS of recordings in Voice Memo app of my iPhone 4 (IOS 6.1.3). (I am a writer and write alot this way, though have of late switched to other voice apps with more flexibility).
My goal is to get these voice memos off my iPhone, but be sure to leave them intact in iTunes with all of them named. ( I have been able to name memos since syncing capability retaining names was introduced).
They cannot be deleted as a group on iPhone, but have to be deleted manually, which does not seem to make them disappear from the voice memo playlist. Is there some safe, less labor intensive option for deleting the voice memos from my phone without risking losing them in iTunes?
I am getting a new iPhone 5s and don't want all these to be restored on the new phone.

I've heard of people recording 2+ hours. It may be dependent on available memory. You could do a test and see for yourself.

Voice Memo App missing

Voice Memo is missing from my iPhone. Not on any home screen, not in iTunes, and can't download it from the App store.
Any thoughts?

I found this thread because my Voice Memos app has disappeared, as well. It is not in search, and I only have nine app screens. I tried to restore home page layout, but it has not reappeared. Suggestions other than resetting the device?

Voice Memos app on 3.0

The voice memos app works great, and is very easy to use. I hate to nitpick, since it is so cool, but it would really be great if it could be accessed from within Mail to Reply to an e-mail. As it is now, I read an e-mail, close that, open Voice Memo, and after creating a Voice Memo, Share and then enter addressee, subject, etc. in a new e-mail. It would really be slick if within Mail when you hit Reply, you would get an option of a Voice Memo reply, without having to switch apps and start a new e-mail.
Can someone tell me the link to make suggestions to Apple?

Fugheddddaaaboutit! I guess the iPhone just needed time to load everything for YouTube. You can sign in directly thru YouTube, without having to go thru Safari. All my favorites are back, and I can access the videos I uploaded, my subscriptions, and most other features on YouTube. Great work Apple !!!!!!!!!!

In the Music tab of iTunes, do you have 'Include Voice Memos' checked?

Voice memos app not saving properly

I am using an iphone5 running iOS7.1.1 and performing the following actions will cause Voice Memos app not saving recordings. I have sent a feedback to Apple but is wondering if anyone else is found having similar problems.
1) Run Voice memos app and start recording
2) At lock screen open camera app and take a picture
3) At same lock screen delete the picture taken
4) Lock screen will show RECORDING in progress
5) Open Voice memos app and it will also show RECORDING in progress
6) Save voice memo from app and the duration FROM the point of picture deleted WILL NOT be saved

same here ... iPhone 3gs/32 gigs ram/ios 4.3.1 ...
the app doesn't seem to work any more, and hasn't for some time:
"buttons" are unresponsive, or they appear to respond, but don't perform their function ... erratic behavior ...
very disappointing as this has gone on for some time ...
We appear not to be the only ones ...
Anyone with a solution?

Questions about using the Voice Memos app

I'm currently an Android user, but will be getting an iPhone 6 soon. My most used app is the voice memos app on my Android phone. I have a couple questions about the iPhone's built-in voice memos app.
-Am I able to transfer my voice memos from my Android phone to my iPhone, so my recordings from my Android app will show up in the iPhone's voice memos app?
-When exporting voice memos from the iPhone to computer, are recordings in MP3 format? If not, what format are they in?
-In your opinion, how is the recording quality of the voice memos app?

You cannot import your Android voice memos to your iPhone's voice memo app. You might be able to play the Android memos and have the iPhone pick up the audio and record it.

I have orphaned voice memos on my iPhone5 and cannot delete. Listed in iTunes but not on my iPhone's Voice Memo app.

When I upgraded from my iPhone 4 to iPhone 5, a bunch of voice memos were orphaned.
What this means is that when I connect my iPhone to iTunes, I see the voice memos.
They are listed in iTunes under my iPhone directories "Voice Memo" and in "Music".
But I cannot delete these.
When I go to my iPhone, the Voice memo app has changed (ok) and you can see there
are no voice memos. It appears that they are orphaned from the voice memo app.
So the voice memos are in my phone somewhere.
How can I delete them or export them or something with them?
I can't play them except on iTunes. They don't show up in Music in my iPhone.

How do I stop voice memo app?

New Iphone 5s. Preloaded is an app called Voice memo. I tried it, recorded a sentence. Hit done. Instead, it says voice memo is paused. I cannot get the red bar reading Verizon voice memo paused. When I go back to Home button, the voice memo app looks normal, just another app. But if I hit the app, up pops the red (orance?) bar saying Verizon memo paused. Please advise.

Well thanks a lot! (Just kidding) I just tried it on mine and ended up with the same problem! I eventually figured it out. Open the voice memo app and tap the word "Done" beside the big red button; it will then ask you to name it (you can just leave it "New Recording"). Once you've completed that, it will be in a list with an "Edit" at the top left which you can then use to delete it.
I think the confusing thing (at least for me) is that I originally interpreted the word "Done" as a label for the red pause button.

It sounds like you have reset your phone by holding the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons, and quitting the Voice Memo app. This is exactly where I would have started as well, so next I would backup the phone to iTunes, and then restore it from the backup.

IPHONE 5S W/IOS7 - VOICE MEMO APP - CAN ONLY RECORD, CANNOT EDIT, DELETE, SEND, ETC. TOOK TUTORIAL ONLINE AND IT SHOWED ALOT MORE FEATURES THAN I CAN LOCATE. PLS HELP

First turn off all caps it's considered rude and as if your shouting.
try a reset, no data loss. hold down the home/sleep button together until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait until your phone boots back up.
then check voice memo again.

Voice Memo App Has Hung Me Out To Dry

I'm using iPhone 4S, iOS 7.1.2.
The Voice Memo app has failed to capture some really important audio. The app was running the entire time, but after I tapped "done" and it saved the audio, only about 2/3 of it was captured in the saved file.
This is unacceptable. Either fix it or just take it out of your iOS.
I can't seem to find the longer version of the recording anywhere in the phone. Does anyone have a way of digging this data out of the phone?

If you cannot see the file in the voice memo app, then there is no other way to explore the file system on the phone.

Voice memo app not working

On the iphone 5 when I click on the voice memos app it open and closes straight away. When I have had this issues with other apps I can delete and reinstall them, however this is not possible to do with the voice memo app, does anyone have any ideas how to resolve this as I have installed a paid for voice memo app which is not as good. I had another breakthrough a couple of days ago.
In iTunes I changed my radio button selection from "Entire Music Library" to "Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres" and instead chose to sync only a handful of artists and albums. Since I did this I have had no problem using my voice memo app.
I don't know if there was some sort of conflict in the way old saved notes were syncing back onto it or if there is a problem with the voice app in which it malfulctions and crashes when there is low free space on the iPhone. I went from my usual 1 GB or less of free space to around 9 GB of free space.
Anyways, just thought I'd share what I found.
