Voice memo in main menu

Recently the voice memo option put itself into my main menu after either a sync or a soft reset. Now I can't get rid of it, since it's not in the extras menu as something to check/uncheck. Do I need to restore my iPod to fix this?

Hello spartanhooah,
And welcome to Apple Discussions!
Have you tried another soft reset of the iPod again? Usually doing so clears up this issue. Otherwise, if you have, then yes, your next step would be to restore the iPod via iTunes.

    hi,
Can you do a right click > properties on the Network Controller and on the details tab > dropdown menu, copy the hardware ID and post it here to find out the model/maker of the wireless card.

Btw, were you using the ethernet cable a while ago when you downloaded the WiFi driver on the Y510p? If yes, can you try to reinsert it in and ensure fully contacts the ethernet (it'll usually make a click sound). When finished, press the Windows Key+R then type ncpa.cpl and ensure that the Ethernet connection doesn't say disabled or Network Cable Unplugged.

As for the other devices that has yellow exclamation marks, these drivers should fix it (you may download these on another PC and install it on the Y510p).

  • Voice Memo on Classic Ipod 12GB

is Voice Memo on the new 120gb Classic? if so how can i use it, and where in menu is it?
i'm trying to record my vinyl directly onto IPod using an Numark TTI Turntable with IPod Dock.
Please help nearly 2 days need a fast solution
    Cheers

    Here's what the manual says:
You can record voice memos using the optional Apple Earphones with Remote and Mic or an optional iPod classic-compatible microphone (available for purchase at www.apple.com/ipodstore). You can store voice memos on iPod classic and sync them with your computer. You can set voice memo quality to Low or High.
Note: Voice memos can’t be longer than two hours. If you record for more than two hours, iPod classic automatically starts a new voice memo to continue your recording.
    To record a voice memo:
1 Connect the Apple Earphones with Remote and Mic to iPod classic, or connect a microphone to the Dock connector port on iPod classic. The Voice Memos item appears in the main menu.
2 To begin recording, choose Voice Memos > Start Recording.
3 Speak while wearing the Apple Earphones with Remote and Mic, or hold the microphone a few inches from your mouth and speak. To pause recording, press the Play/Pause button. Choose Resume to continue recording.
4 When you finish, choose Stop and Save. Your saved recording is listed by date and time.
To play a recording: Choose Extras > Voice Memos and select the recording.
Note: You won’t see a Voice Memos menu item if you’ve never connected a microphone or the Apple Earphones with Remote and Mic to iPod classic.
To sync voice memos with your computer:
Voice memos are saved in the Voice Memos application on iPod in the WAV file format.
If you enable iPod classic for disk use, you can drag voice memos from the folder to copy them.
If iPod classic is set to sync songs automatically (see “Syncing Music Automatically” on page 24) and you record voice memos, the voice memos are automatically synced to a playlist in iTunes (and removed from iPod classic) when you connect iPod classic. You see the new Voice Memos playlist in the source list.

  • HT201412 iPhone 4S Voice Memos -

when I select this item on the main screen it goes to the "recording mic" but immediately goes back to main screen.  I am unable to access my voice memos.  I have shut down my phone several times to no avail.  Anyone else having this issue?
    Thank you

When an app goes back to the main screen (by which I think you mean the screen that shows many apps) by itself, that indicates the app is "crashing".
You should restore your iPhone.  Plug it in to iTunes (current version: 11.0.4).  Let it sync, then choose "Restore" from the iPhone's summary screen in iTunes.

  • IPhone 4 Voice Memos not working/saving

    Hi there,
I'm having trouble with my voice memos too. Up until yesterday they were working fine and now, even though the record button works, the stop button does not and I can only pause them. Worse again is that the button to go into the menu to view all voice memos is not working so I can't play them from my iPhone and nothing new is saving to my iTunes. Please help!

I've always had the "Include Voice Memos" option selected. I think that only pertains to syncing voice memos from iTunes to the iPhone after it has been copied to iTunes. It has to be the new OS/iTunes not communicating that new memos have been recorded. For some reason they won't sync when I want them to, and then a few syncs later they magically appear.
By the way, I'm VERY comfortable with the iTunes and iPhone systems. I've been using iTunes for 5 years, and I've been recording class lectures with the iPhone voice memo app (and another app) for a couple years. It's not an error of not seeing that the memos were added; they don't exist in my library or music folders.
JUST OUT OF CURIOSITY, POST WHICH FIRMWARE YOU ARE RUNNING EXACTLY!!!
I'm on an iPhone 4, running firmware 4.0.1

  • IPhone 5: Voice Memos not working in iOS 6.1.4

I updated my iPhone 5 and suddenly my voice memos app doesn't work. When I click on it, it loads the microphone icon then closes and goes back to the main screen.  Can anyone help on this issue?

For iphon 5 after the last update, to listen to your recored voice memos, you have to tab the speaker symbol on the upper right corner of the file page. You can also use the bluetooth or headphone to listen to your recordings.

  • How can I get my voice memos off of my iPhone?

I have a new iPhone and took some pictures and recorded a few voice memos.  I would like to save these before I restore my iPhone to the back up I have on my computer.  I was able to import the photos into iPhoto, but I am not sure how to import the voice memos.  Normally, I would see them in iTunes under the Voice Memos playlist, but they are not there.  When I click on the iPhone in iTunes it gives me a choice of restoring from back up or setting up as a new iPhone.  I am worried that either of choices would get rid of the two voice memos I have on my iPhone.  Any advice?

    Hey mahongue!
I have some information here that may help you import your voice memos into iTunes. This information is written for the iPod, but the steps for saving your voice memos should be the same with your iPhone:
    Synchronize
If iPod is set to update songs automatically and you record voice memos, the voice memos are automatically downloaded to a playlist in iTunes when you connect iPod. Once downloaded, the voice memos are removed from the Voice Memos folder on your iPod. To play the voice memos that have been synchronized to your computer in iTunes, select the Voice Memos playlist on the left side of the iTunes window. To play the synchronized voice memos on the iPod, select the Voice Memos playlist in the Music menu, not the Voice Memos menu in the Extras menu.

  • Voice memos on new iphone 5 not viewable in itunes

Having a problem with my voice memos,  I can see all of my memos on the iphone 5 itself, old and new. But when I go into phones-voicememos menu in itunes, the only memos I see are the once that got synced to the ipnone 5 from my iphone 4 backup, I cant see any of the memos Ive recorded with the 5. Any one have any thoughts? Cloud is off and I do all my syncing thru my pc.

You should have received a message saying your phone was detected in recovery mode and needed to be restored when you connected it to iTunes.
Try putting it in DFU mode to restore it, as explained here: http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=1034.

  • How do you use Voice Memos?

I read in the Features Guide (link below) that it was possible to use a microphone and make voice recordings, but when I hook up a microphone nothing happens and the Voice Memos menu doesn't appear. What do I need to make this work? Thanks
    http://manuals.info.apple.com/en/ipodnano_3rd_gen_featuresguide.pdf

    From the Users Guide:
    Syncing Voice Memos
iTunes syncs voice memos to your iTunes library when you connect iPod touch to
your computer. This lets you listen to voice memos on your computer and provides a
backup if you delete them from iPod touch.
Voice memos are synced to the Voice Memos playlist. iTunes creates the playlist if it
doesn’t exist. When you sync voice memos to iTunes, they remain in the Voice Memos
app until you delete them. If you delete a voice memo on iPod touch, it isn’t deleted
from the Voice Memos playlist in iTunes. However, if you delete a voice memo from
iTunes, it is deleted from iPod touch the next time you sync with iTunes.
You can sync the iTunes Voice Memos playlist to the Music app on iPod touch using
    the Music pane in iTunes.
Sync the Voice Memos playlist to iPod touch:
1 Connect iPod touch to your computer.
2 In iTunes, select iPod touch in the Devices list.
3 Select Music at the top of the screen.
4 Select the “Include voice memos” checkbox and click Apply.
Some users have had to create the Voice Memos playlist since it did not get automatically created.

  • Voice Memos File management with wireless remote hard drive

Dragging unwanted voice memos from within iTunes application to trash, then emptying trash, won't delete voice memos in the "voice memos" folder in iTunes Media on my external remote hard drive. Why not?
I manage my iTunes music from my laptop, storing the actual files in an iTunes Media folder on a hard drive connected to an Airport Extreme. The hard drive was close to full and I decided the culprit was giant voice memo files. I didn't need most of them so I dragged them to the trash from within the voice memos "playlist" in iTunes. This removed them from the playlist, but even when I emptied the trash via the Finder pull down menu, the files stayed in the actual folder on the hard disk. Disk still full. What gives?

Hi Samboni98, and a warm welcome to the forum!
You could do that, but a far better idea would be to clone the 160 to the 500, then boot from the 500 which besides beimg faster, OSX just loves lots of Free space.
Get carbon copy cloner to make an exact copy of your old HD to the New one...

After cloning bootup with the Option key held down & choose the 500!

  • Voice memo not working

Recently the Voice Memo function on my iPhone is not working. When I click on it I get the 'microphone' icon, but when I switch on it collapsed back to main screen. The guy at Genius Bar suggested that I should 'restore iphone' my iPhone settings.
When I got to do this I get a message saying "Are you sure you want to restore the iPhone to its factory settings? All of your media and other data will be erased." This sounds v scary, not sure of consequences and not sure what to do. Can anyone help?
    JohnC

    Hello John,
Thanks for the question, and welcome to Apple Support Communities.
I concur with my colleague at the Apple Store, we may need to restore your device. Furthermore, we have great utilities in place to avoid data loss while restoring: backing up with iTunes and/or iCloud. I have included information about how to do so, along with a step-by-step guide on restoring your iPhone:
Choosing an iOS backup method (Should I use iTunes or iCloud to back up my iOS device?)

  • Voice Memo not syncing as advertised.

Voice Memos arent working right for me. I have them set to sync, but itunes never did sync them no matter what I did (I thought). So I manually created the Voice Memo playlist it was supposed to make for me, then it finally started automatically putting them in there. It actually was syncing the files over to my main library with just a time and date file name... but no play list and no easy way to find them all or manage them all without searching for each one individually.
Any change I make in iTunes does not change anything on my iPhone in the Voice Memo app. Deleting them from the playlist leaves them in my library, I have to search my library for the date names they are saved as and delete them from there. After deleting them from iTunes, it does not remove them in Voice Memo from my iPhone, they are still there. Syncing my iPhone puts them back as music files onto my iPhone, and they are still in Voice Memo separately... its very confusing because this isnt how Apple said its supposed to work. Maybe the playlist is set up wrong because I had to manually do it and it wont auto create one?

Then, I recorded a new Voice Memo on the phone, and synced again. The result in iTunes was another copy of the previous memo and the new memo, for a total of three.
That's interesting. That was not my experience as I played around with Voice Memos.
Interestingly, even though I have the Include Voice Memos checked, voice memos that are in iTunes, but have been deleted from the Voice Memo App do not get synced back to the iPhone. With the box unchecked, Voice Memos don't seem to get synced back to iTunes at all.
I also can't seem to get the Voice Memos playlist to show up in the iPod at all.
    Matt
    Matt
mines not working like that at all... not even close.... i get multiple copies... also it will NOT create a Voice Memos playlist for me. I've tried over and over. If I manually create one called Voice Memos, it uses it, but I don't think its using it right since it keeps syncing the same memos every time to get multiple copies.

  • How to copy your Voice memos to computer

    The best one i discoverd
1- connect the iphone to iTunes
2- go to Voice memos app in your iphone .
3- get the menu of your memos
4- select the one you want to copy
5- click the arrow button on the right
6- click  " Tirm memo " and term the memo
    7- go back to iTunes
    8- Sync the iphone
9- the memo you want will appear in the playlist " voice memos "

This isn't a question. Make sure you're posting in the correct area.

  • HT1550 how to convert a voice memos to MP3

    Hello,
I need to convert a voice memo to MP3 then upload to FPT, any ideas?
    Thanks very much.

I don't know what the format of the iPhone recordings is, but presumably it's something you can play in iTunes?
If so: in iTunes Preferences click the 'Import Settings' button and in the top drop-down menu choose 'MP3 encoder'. You can set the bitrate etc using 'Custom settings' in the second menu if you want.
Now drag the recordingh into the iTunes Music list. Select it, and from the Advanced menu choose 'Create MP3 version' to make an MP3 copy. You can drag this out to the Desktop and delete both it and the original from iTunes.
