Voice memo quits after opening

Voice memo quits right after I open it. The icon vanishes.
I tried restoring and it worked once. Now it does the same thing again.

did you get a solution? mine does the same. it's been ages since i can't use it.

Iphone 4 voice memo quits on opening

Verizon iphone 4 6.1.3 Apple Voice Memo has started quitting less than 2 seconds after opening reverting to home screen. Has never happened before and will not stay open now. Re-synced with itunes, turned off and on a number of times now and no relief with issue. I use Voice Memo almost daily to record song ideas .... What is going on? I searched for an answer on Google, Apple and Verizon and no fix is in sight. Help. Thank you.

Frankly, after looking into iPhone support, I am amazed at how lame and wasteful of my
time to try & find information, to help you, has been. The entire site seems dumbed/down.

HT201412 Voice Memos quits/can no longer sync iphone 4 - linked problem

Voice Memos quits after two seconds of opening AND can no longer sync phone iphone4 to itunes, tried resetting, but don't want to restore phone to factory settings as I have important recordings I want to use. Help!!
I've taken itunes off computer and downloaded it again (suggested by other forum). No joy...
The two problems seemed to happen simultaneously.

The hesitation comes from the fact that the number of songs that show up in my iTunes library is a small percentage of the number songs that were previously in the iTunes library. My understanding is that if I sync the content of my iTunes library to the iPhone, I will end up losing thousands of songs that are currently on my iPhone but not in iTunes.
If I could find where the other songs went (and why iTunes is no longer seeing those song files) then perhaps I could load those back into iTunes and the risk of syncing will disappear.

Voice Memos Issues After IOS 8 Upgrade

After upgrading to IOS 8 on my iPhone 5s, the majority of my voice memos are missing and the ones that remain no longer have titles or even play back on my phone. Any ideas?

I was able to recover my voice memos, though the original titles are gone.
I opened my Voice Memos app like everyone else and I saw each memo quickly deleting and acting glitchy. I then connected my iPhone to my macbook so I could attempt to restore the backup I had made before the ios8 update. It said it couldn't be done because there wasn't enough room. However, when I opened my memos app again, the voice recordings were there! I can't verify if it's all of them but I'm grateful I was able to recover some.
I use this app to record lyrics on the go and I'd really like Apple to step up and fix this.

Voice memos gone after ios 7 upgrade

The voice memos on my phone are gone following the update to IOS 7. Does anyone know why they disappeared and how I can get them back on the phone. I have an iphone 5. I backed up before the update but I do not see the voice memos in my itunes library. Any ideas????

Yeah I have the same problem. Extremely annoying. This 7.0 looks cool but there appears to be quite learning curve for both iphone users and Apple's design and implementation staff. Any technical help would be much appreciated.

Voice Memo Crashes Upon Opening App

Ever since the upgrade to 6.1, my iPhone 5 will not open Voice Memos. It immediately crashes yet stays open in the bottom tab. I can't find a solution anywhere. I have hard reset my phone etc. The app is basically rendered useless. Any known fixes out there?

Well buddy, if like me you've been buying Apple product for 20 years (over $20K of all sorts of their products from pro Computer to iPods, iPhone etc) and encountered a long list of unresolved problems recently ever since I got my iPhone 5 and also 2 brand new Mac Minis you'd feel the same.
Also I did updated to the latest iTunes, not only I hated it, it did not fix any of my problems and it was painfully slow so I went back to 10.7. Plus the fact that Voice memo doesn't launch has nothing to do with iTunes
PS resetting did not fix it

Voice memos lost after restore. I've tried everything.

When I plugged my iPhone 5 in a few weeks ago it said it needed to update the software. I clicked OK. It froze hard while doing this. I had to do a restore. That's when I "lost" my voice memos. For voice memos I use the app "Recorder" by Bear-Software (I asked them for help but got no answer). After the restore all of my voice memos are gone, sort of. The folders and times of the individual voice memos were all put back on my iPhone, but if I try to play any of them I get the message "Warningw (sic) There was an error loading the sound file." I looked at my time machine backups. It appears that my voice memos stopped backing up about one year ago. Why, I don't know (I have Voice Memos checked in iTunes). I tried iExplorer and Wondershare Dr.Fone. All they find are those 17 old voice memos from a year or two ago. Ditto for PhoneView. Nothing from the past 12 months. Hundreds of voice memos are gone, but if they are really gone how were the "titles" of each voice memo (the day/month/time), and even the exact number of seconds for each one, put back on the iPhone without the actual associated audio file? Am I looking in the wrong place for these backups?

This MobileSync Backup file has every item in it listed as a "document."

The backup file is not intended to be looked at as if it were just a compilation of data, it is somewhat encrypted.
Did this app supposed to have saved the voicememo in such a way that when you sync the phone it was located as music? I don't think an application has the access to the iOS to be able to do this. I would think they are located within the app itself as app data like may other apps are. If that is the case, the app data should be saved as part of the backup, but should only be accessed via the app itself.
My thought is that the only place for you to get support on this would be the app developer, as they should be able to tell you how you might be able to find where data is stored.

Voice memos deleted after restore

Recently I restored my IPhone from iCloud and all my Voice Memos are Greyed after iCloud Restore everything is restored except my voice memos, I can see the list but cant play them and I do not have itunes backup. Its really disappointing. What can I do to get them back from iCloud backup?

if you've been syncing then your voice memo should be in your music folder in itunes.

Deleted voice memos using Syncios. Now Voice Memos won't open and iPhone won't sync.

I deleted all voice memos from the iPhone using Syncios, and now I'm having the following issues:
1) Voice Memos app is broken on iPhone. It opens and then immediately closes.
2) Can't sync via iTunes! Get the following error message:
The iPhone "[iPhone Name]" could not be synced because the sync session failed to start.
3) Syncios is not recognizing the device even when connected. Error message:
Device disconnected, please reconnect the device.
It looks like deleting the voice memos using Syncios did something else to the phone to break it.
Please help ASAP.

Same problem here. I contacted Syncios and they opened a bug report, but I it seems that they don't have any workaround for the moment :-/
In my case, I also discovered that my iCloud backup was corrupted when restoring my iPhone 6 in order to "fix" all these problems (had to wipe my phone to use it again...)... So it's possible that this Syncios bug also damages iCloud/iTunes backups, which would be very embarassing for them.

HT6114 My Outlook keeps forcing me to Quit after opening usually I get 30 seconds then it shuts down. This has only occurred since I installed the latest version of Mavericks 10.9.2, I'm off to the Apple store to see if it can be fixed.

Following 10.9.2 update my outlook quits 30 seconds after opening it, anyone experiencing the same issue?

@Bee, there is no update patch from Microsoft since the 10.9.2 OS update. I'm not sure if this will help with the OP's issue but I found a fix for my issue. Just hold down the Option key when launching Outlook. It will launch a Database Utility that backs up the original identity and reloads it. It worked fine after that and all my emails were in tact (thank goodness).

Voice Memos Disappear After iTunes Sync

Anyone else experiencing this? My wife had 6 lectures recorded today on the iPhone before we synced it tonight. All of them had been recorded today. When she returned home she showed me the files on the iPhone so I can verify they were there.
However, once the first sync tonight completed, the Voice Memos playlist in iTunes only contained 3 of the lectures. What is worse is the iPhone now only contains these 3 lectures as well. Searched through the iTunes library and these are the only Voice memos to be found.
I performed a Restore (3.0) and then restored from the backup that was performed during that last sync and only recovered a short test memo we recorded that day before.
I will be filing an iPhone Feedback report, but wanted to know if this has occurred with anyone else. Cheers!

IPhone 4s Voice Memo quit working.

This is the voice memo that came installed on the phone, this is NOT out of the app store.
I was using this app daily, and now it simply doesn't work. I can't record, and I can't get to my old voice memos!
Has anyone else encountered this? Suggestions? I did turn my phone off & on, and then it worked, but this is a recurring problem.

I use voice to text all the time. It worked yesterday but not today. I am not a big Siri user but tried it today as well. It acts as if it is listening but does not respond. I have also tried using my Apple headphones with microphone but that does not work either.

IChat Just Quits After Open!!!!

IChat just quits right when I sign into my AIM account (its set to auto login)
everything was working fine earlier but after I installed the new security update iChat has been messed up - ARGH!

I had the same problem, and I think i have it somewhat figured out. This happened on both my brand new mac mini and my ibook. The problem is most likely either my router or my dsl modem (gateway?). The solution: If you have a wired computer, remove the ethernet cable, and open ichat. It will tell you that there is no internet connection, but it will stay open. Go into the iChat preferences, and change the settings to Allow Multiple Logins and to NOT connect automatically. Then plug in the cable and connect. That should work. If you have an airport card, turn airport off (on the top right of your screen), and do the exact same thing, turning the airport on at the end after changing the preferences. After that, to log in, unplug the cable/turn off the card, open ichat, plug it back in/turn the card back on, and log into ichat. That's what I found to work. I assume it's my router--linksys--or my dsl gateway--Westell--because ichat works fine in my brother's apartment, where another router is in use (I think it's netgear, but I'm not positive). Hope that helps.

Itunes 11.1.3 has started to continuously quit after opening

Hi there,
I have a MacBook Pro on 10.6.8.
For some reason my Itunes 11.1.3 has started to quit constantly. It takes a long time to check the library on opening up, and on opening lands in the apps that need updating section, freezes and then quits.
I have no idea why this has started happening. Can anyone advise?
I've restarted in safe mode and it still won't work.
I'd really appreciate any advice.

Program keeps quiting after opening

Everytime I try to start dreamweaver 8, (mac os 10.4) it goes
through the Background File Activity:
Updating the list of remote files in folder: '/'.
And the dreamweaver quits.
Any solutions?
Reinstalling software will erase all my stored ftp files, so
that would be last resort.

I reinstalled the program, and it still quits at start up.
I even reinstalled it under a new user, so it would be brand
new, and that one quits as well???
It happens after it goes through the updateing remote files
list.
