Voice memos in iOS7, on new iphone 5s cuts off recordings

Voice memos has always been super reliable in previous versions but on a new iphone 5s with ios7 I'm finding it cuts off recordings very unpredictably - sometimes after less than a minute sometimes after a quarter hour or so.
I've seen other threads where the issue has been described but this has been explicitly on longer recordings or where the recording is finished so wanted to raise this again as an issue on new hardware with recordings of any length where the recording stops by itself.
The bug is making the app unusable at present which is a shame as it looks like it could be a greatly improved app.
Any ideas?
The worse thing about this is that Apple Support does not appear to know about it and steered me in the wrong direction. Today I tried it again and lost another 50 minute recording.
Apple needs to fix this and let users and tech staff know ASAP.
This has now cost me 2 hours of client time, plus 3 hours of tech support. The client information is priceless to me. I will not be able to retrieve the content of those discussions, even if I conduct the meetings again. Too many variables were at play.
I am beyond disillusioned that this issue is being reported in various threads throughout the fall and has not been addressed, and that phone support is unwaware, so more users will end up with the same terrible losses.
It is, in my opinion, highly irresponsible and a show of disrespect to customers to permit this to be occuring without warning users or applying fixes.

IPhone (4) Voice Memos not Syncing to New iTunes 10.0
I'm currently on an iPhone 4 (4.0.1 firmware) and I've been experiencing issues getting my voice memos to sync to my iTunes library.
The last time this worked was August 27, 2010 which added 3 voice memos to my iTunes library successfully. Since then, I have not yet updated my firmware but have installed the new iTunes 10.0. I have 8 new voice memo recordings on my phone since the last successful sync, and I've tried syncing my phone four times today, Sept. 4, (restarting iTunes and my iPhone) with no luck. I tried recording a new voice memo to see if iTunes 10 would recognize any memos recorded after the installation but that failed as well.
Is anyone else experiencing this problem?I've always had the "Include Voice Memos" option selected. I think that only pertains to syncing voice memos from iTunes to the iPhone after it has been copied to iTunes. It has to be the new OS/iTunes not communicating that new memos have been recorded. For some reason they won't sync when I want them to, and then a few syncs later they magically appear.
By the way, I'm VERY comfortable with the iTunes and iPhone systems. I've been using iTunes for 5 years, and I've been recording class lectures with the iPhone voice memo app (and another app) for a couple years. It's not an error of not seeing that the memos were added; they don't exist in my library or music folders.

Hi, I am trying to get my voice memos from my iPhone 3GS to my MacBook Pro via iTunes and it is not working. I have ticked sync music in the music tab of the iPhone device and the include voice memos box is also ticked. So, apparently this should work, but there is no sign of the voice memos in iTunes or in the iTunes folder in the finder window. Any ideas much appreciated! :-) Thank you.

Problem: when I click Sync I get a warning stating "Are you sure you want to sync music? All existing songs and playlists on the iPhone “Jarrod Vassallo’s iPhone” will be replaced with songs and playlists from your iTunes library."
I don't care if the iPhone syncs with the laptop (and the music is lost), I just cannot afford to lose the Voice Memos too as they are very important. Any suggestions?To follow this user tip using iTunes 11, fist go to View>Show Sidebar. Also, Transfer Purchases (step 5) is now in File>Devices.
If they're too large to email and you don't want to sync, the only other option is to use 3rd party software to transfer them using usb, such as PhoneView (Mac only) or Touch Copy (PC or Mac). -
4 voice memos in iTunes backup from iPhone had ! marks and would not play so I deleted them and although they are still on the iPhone, they will not sync back to iTunes from iPhone.
You may have to try deleting all the music from your phone (by going to Settings>General>Usage>Music, swipping All Music and tapping Delete), then sync it all back on with iTunes in order to fix this.

Voice Memos show up twice on iPhone in iTunes
Hi. I recently had to reinstall Windows and therefore iTunes as well. iTunes wouldn't let me sync my music because the iPhone was being synced with another iTunes library on my PC (which I assume would be my old iTunes install). In order to get iTunes to allow me to sync again, I enabled and then disabled the manually manage songs option. Everything seems to be OK except for my Voice Memos.
When I switched to manual management of my songs, my voice memos were then treated as regular song tracks. I added them back to my iPhone manually along with my music and videos. Then I turned back on syncing (unchecked manually manage box). When I synced, the Voice Memos playlist was created again and in the playlist were all my Voice Memos, except for 2. Those 2 ones that are not showing in the Voice Memos playlist are the only two files that show up inside the Voice Memos app. Also now all my Voice Memos (except those 2 I just mentioned) show up twice in my Music category on iTunes.
Is there a way to make it so that the Voice Memos don't show up twice in iTunes, and to have all the Voice Memos be displayed in the Voice Memos app? I would rather the Voice Memos not show up in the Music app. I've already changed the Media Kind to "Voice Memo" and everything. No go...Well, after unchecking the Voice Memo genre on the Music tab at the top on my iPhone when connected to iTunes, the Music category (on the left under my iPhone device) stopped showing the Voice Memos twice. They all show up once. The only problem is that now I can't access any of the Voice Memos on my iPhone! They're still on the device though since I can still play them by double-clicking on them in iTunes. Btw, the two recordings that previously showed up in the Voice Memo app are now gone as well...
If I recheck the Voice Memo genre so that it syncs with the rest of my music, the voice memos get copied onto my iPhone twice, eating up a lot of space! I think my Voice Memos are indeed syncing twice on my iPhone because the Other section is 5.24GB and the files on my PC are 2.62GB, exactly twice the amount of the memos on my PC....... -
Deleted voice memos using Syncios. Now Voice Memos won't open and iPhone won't sync.
I deleted all voice memos from the iPhone using Syncios, and now I'm having the following issues:
1) Voice Memos app is broken on iPhone. It opens and then immediately closes.
2) Can't sync via iTunes! Get the following error message:
The iPhone "[iPhone Name]" could not be synced because the sync session failed to start.
3) Syncios is not recognizing the device even when connected. Error message:
Device disconnected, please reconnect the device.
It looks like deleting the voice memos using Syncios did something else to the phone to break it.
Please help ASAP.Same problem here. I contacted Syncios and they opened a bug report, but I it seems that they don't have any workaround for the moment :-/
In my case, I also discovered that my iCloud backup was corrupted when restoring my iPhone 6 in order to "fix" all these problems (had to wipe my phone to use it again...)... So it's possible that this Syncios bug also damages iCloud/iTunes backups, which would be very embarassing for them. -

Apps and Music are not from iCloud. Are from iTunes and App Store.
You can change this from: Settings>iTunes and App Stores>Sign out and sign in with new ID, but you will have to pay again to download apps that you already have in your old account. Or leave it as it is to share purchases with your son. -

Go to http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ and then click contact iTunes Store Support. Then find your issue in the categories and then it will most likely take you to a page with suggested things to do but also on this page should be an option to e-mail them. Just explain your problem and also have the names of the songs that you are having problems with listed in the e-mail so they can help you more quickly. They usually get back to you within 24 hours.

Voice memos on ios7, it freezes after I try and save it
Hey!
I record all of my lectures on my iphone, but since I have updated to ios7 I am not able to do that. It records the lectures, but when I tap finished/save, it freezes up and the memo just is 00:00 even though I have been recording for 1 and a half hour. I think there is a bug in the new voice memo. Is there anyone else who has this problem or know how to solve it?
PS: any apps you can recommend for me to use.Nothing seems to work correctly in the new iOS! I also have the same issue (among a number of other issues) and I have tested it time and time again, trying to figure out if it is caused by going into the camera app or the screen locking.
It is definitely a HUGE bug that apple NEEDS to fix, I have lost 5 lectures so far and am regretting ever upgrading to iOS7. If there is a way to revert to the old version of iOS, I would do it immediately!
I have not found any solutions to date, besides using my boyfriends old iPhone 4 which has not upgraded to iOS7. Bad move on apple's part, they shouldn't mess with apps that work great. -
Voice memos won't transfer from iPhone 4 to iPhone 6
I just got a new iPhone 6 for Christmas, coming from an iPhone 4 (running iOS 6.1). I backed up my iPhone 4 one last time before plugging in my new iPhone, and everything synced over perfectly except for my voice memos.
I have a tremendous amount of voice memos, over 11 hours worth of small snippets. As it is one of the most my most used apps, this lack of sync is very upsetting to me. Is there anyway I can transfer over my wealth of voice memos to my new phone, specifically within the Voice Memos app?

Voice Memo Won't Sync from iPhone

I've been syncing voice memos from iPhone to iTunes for more than a year with no problems. Now this morning I can't sync the latest one I made last night.
I've:
-- Restarted my iMac
-- Tried File>Sync
Nothing works. The file I need just sits on my phone unable to move to iTunes so I can do something with it.
I thought Apple things "just worked?"

- Disconnect your iPhone from your computer.
- Quit iTunes
- Relaunch iTunes
- Select "Oragainize Library..." from the File/Library menu
- Check the "Consolidate Files" option and hit OK
- Quit iTunes
- Relaunch iTunes
- Plug in your iPhone and sync
- Your new voice memos should now be in iTunes. -
Voice Memo .mov files lost in iphone Limbo
Hello.
After doing some research it appears that:
There is a bug with iphone (mine is 3g) that when voice memos are recorded they are recorded as .mov files, and then converted to .m4a.
I assume this is because .m4a is a more complex algorithm and the little iphone processor can only record .mov on the fly.
The issue is that if the iphone is interrupted in this process, you will have a voice memo that goes for 0 seconds and a .mov file on your iphone taking up space.
I noticed in iTunes that i had 3.9 GB of "Other" taking up space on my iphone. After using third party software, i looked into the files on the iphone and found that most of this space was being taken up by files in my "recordings" folder. I went into 'voice memos' on my iphone and individually** deleted all the voice memos (after backing them up) and freed up a significant amount of the 3.9 GB. However, there are still 1.2 GB of .mov files still taking up space on the iphone, and I cannot find a program that will let me delete the files (write to the iphone hard disk) and the iphone itself cannot recognise the files!
It seems the only way to delete the files is to Jailbreak. I don't want to jailbreak the phone, simply because i believe that when you pay for apple products, you are paying for a product that 'just works'. In other words, they have done all the trouble shooting and tweaking of things to make it all work seamlessly. Jailbreaking reopens the can of worms of software clashes, and you get back into the land of using a windows style system.
Does anyone have a way around this?
I have iPhone 3g and Macbook 2.4ghz Core2Duo.They won't sync back to your phone as far as I know. You can sync them from your phone to computer to listen to them in itunes. If you delete a voice memo on iPhone, it isn’t deleted from the Voice Memos playlist in iTunes. However, if you delete a voice memo from iTunes, it is deleted from iPhone the next time you sync with iTunes.
You might try this:
In iTunes, select the voice memo you want on your phone, go to “Advanced” and select “Create MP3 Version”. See if you can sync that back to your phone.
