Voice Memos playback when not in foreground?

Can the Voice Memos app be configured to play when it is not in the foreground?
By default, if Voice Memos is playing a recording and I press the Home button to get to another app, playback immediately ceases.

Voice memo playback low volume, ipod touch 4th gen bluetooth

After recording a voice memo on my ipod touch 4th gen. I play it back on my bluetooth JBL flip. Now when I playback sound levels are sometimes extremely quiet, and other times play at normal volume. Volume on Ipod touch and JBL flip will be maxed out and still volume playback are extremely quiet. I have tried turning off and on Ipod and not found anything work consistently at solving this issue.

Do you have a Phone? In your case i would save some money for an iPhone. Like i am doing now - i also got a 4G iPod.
Anyways if you really wanna go for another iPod, take the 5G now. The 5G is a big update from the 4G and Apple released it last year, so i think that the 6G will come in 2014.

Voice memos in iTunes not being added to iPod

The Apple store told me to get rid of a bug on my iPod to set it up as a new iPod and not restore it from a backup since it was most likely a software issue and not hardware (music was skipping randomly even when not on shake to shuffle). Everything is fine now except that I cannot get my old voice memos back on my iPod Touch4G. They are in iTunes and before I sync I makes sure the "include voice memos" is checked, but it still does not work. Any suggestions on how to get these back on my iPod? Thanks.

How to change the already synced voice memo status to not yet sync

Hi
When syncing my iPhone with my computer, some random error occurred and thus the syncing process was not completed and it was forced to stop. Due to this reason, i have 5 voice memos were not transferred into my computer but all of the voice memos were marked with today's date under the 'Date Added" column. In fact, they were all not transferred into my computer. Any advice or solution for this kind of problem?

Voice memos from Iphone not playing on ipod

Is anyone having a problem playing voice memos, that were recorded on the iphone, on the ipod classic. It shows up as a song on my ipod but when I got to play it, the ipod shuts off and reboots. Does anyone have any insight on this?

My wife just had the same problem on her windows machine. She had to convert to acc file from one of the drop downs in iTunes. This fixed her problem good luck hope this helps

Voice memo playback

i sent a voice memo to a friend and she can't hear the playback... the ringer volume is up and she tried turning up the volume during play back and still didn't work... any suggestions?

HT4623 my iphone 4 microphone works ok on voice memos, but will not work on making or answering phone calls.

Just in the last month, I have been unable to talk on my iPhone 4 (32GB). All other functions are ok including the use of the Voice memo App.
I have no idea why the voice App microphone works ok but not to talk to incomming and outgoing phone calls

I'm Updating too 8.2. hope it fixes the issue.

Is there any way to recover a voice memo that was not backed up but accidentally deleted?

Today I accidentally deleted a very important voice memo in the blink of an eye. As I forgot to back it up I know this is probably not possible and I understand that. Is there any way to recover this?

I had exactly the same problem, I was trying with some software of wondershare but wasn't possible, so, it seems like we lost that important info!.

Voice memo email attachments not playing

This is a problem I've had since iOS5.0 on both my 3GS and my new 4S. I have a friend who sometimes sends me voice memos by email, and when I receive the message the attachment appears to load and shows a file size above 0..yet when I tap it, the audio player opens and immediately closes.
When I download the same message on my iPad or Macbook it plays fine, it seems to be a problem only on my phone. Also, I'm able to create and play back voice memos on the phone, I just can't play the ones that are sent to me.
Any ideas?

Figured it out (running 8.3 iPhone 6).
I got the same message as you. I left it for about an hour still same thing. Software shut my phone (hold the lock screen till prompted to shut off). Then rebooted my phone. It was then able to play. Checked it like 20 minutes later and I could then send it.

Voice memos do not delete (1 hr of recordings)!

Where I find these "undeleted" voice memos. When I connect iPhone, itunes opens and on the top right I click iPhone. There are 10 tabs in total (Summary - Info - Apps - Tones - Music - Movies - TV Shows - Books - Photos - On This iPhone). I click On This iPhone. On the far left side, it lists from top to bottom Music - Movies - Tones - All of my playlists. The last one lists Voice Memo. I click on Voice Memo. I find 10 messages from June and July 2012, which I have deleted off of my iphone AND itunes. I want to delete these 10 voice memos. They are NOT on iPhone or iTunes. I tried searching through computer, but nothing is found.
So why not delete them now? I physically can't. I right click on the voice memo and there is no option to Copy, Paste, DELETE file. It only gives the option of playing the music. It is easier to see what I am saying so I am attaching a snapshot. Notice that the voice memos are on my iphone, but not in itunes. I looked all over itunes and there is not one voice memo. Also, under the Music tab, include voice memos is not checked.

Voice memos on phone will not transfer to iTunes.

A little help. I recently updated my iPhone 4 to the iOS6 software and my iTunes to 10.7. Since I did this I can not sync my voice memos on my phone over to iTunes. I have a Macbook Pro.
"include voice memos" is checked.
Desired voice memos to be transfered over do NOT show up under "Voice Memos" tab when iPhone is plugged into iTunes. But I can see them under the "music" tab, I can play them but I can not transfer them over.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Tried the whole "consolidate library" bit to no avail.

Any luck here? Why isn't Apple responding to these questions/issues re: voice memos not synching? I have the same problem, prior to the update I could sync my voice memos no problem and now they will not sync. Since the update my battery life is terrible and apps are slow so i've been advised to reset everything or "restore new" or whatever, which means I need back up everything... all backed up now besides my voice memos. I've been checking and unchecking "include voice memos" with no luck, ended up unchecking Sync Music and now iTunes wants to delete all iPhone "existing content" and "replace with songs and playlists from your iTunes library". Will this delete my iPhone voice memos?? Guess I'm headed into the store tomorrow.

Some Voice Memos do not sync from iPhone to Mac?

I recorded a number of meetings to my iPhone using the Voice Memo app. When I sync with my Mac, most of these transfer to iTunes, but a handful don't, for no reason I can see. I did not record them any differently from the ones that made it across. I tried emailing the missing memos to myself from within Voice Memo, but the email silently failed, perhaps because the files are too large (almost an hour).
I've seen other similar threads on the web - the suggestion to uncheck and re-check the "Include Voice Memos" box did not help.
Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks.
(My suggestion for Apple is that iTunes and Voice Memo need a big usability upgrade.)

In the music part of your iphone in itunes, uncheck the box for syncing voice memos. Then apply changes. Check that it is all gone on your iphone. Go back to itunes and check the box for voice memos and sync. Itunes would copy the voice memos back to your iphone in the process.
that worked for me. +Don't forget to update to ios 6 latest, as apple fixed (at least improved) the bug causing wrongly sync music/voice memos not appearing.

Voice Memos won't play, disappear when sync

I recently got the iPhone, and only today did I try using the Voice Memo. At first, it worked fine, just testing it, but then it stopped working right.
The iPhone records, or at least says it records, my voice memo, and when I go into the list of voice memos, it is there. But when I try to play it, nothing happens. The bar at the bottom, with the minutes:seconds, just says "0:00" at both ends.
And when I sync with iTunes, the voice memos disappear.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

The third party ap iphone explorer is free and finds all the lost recordings, at least as mov files (actually an improvement from the m4a files Apple makes you to use). These showed up on my phone with zeros on the counter and would not play, when I e-mailed them, the attachments were 0 KB, when I tried to find them through itunes I could not. (Side note: I like itunes for music with my ipods, but for all the other aps on the iphone not user friendly for downloading, moving around). When I foolishly rebooted the phone, three of four formally existing voice memos just disappeared. When I used to the free iphone explorer ap I found them. Files of my boy talking for the first time that would have been lost forever. Another third party ap, phoneview, is helpful for downloading photos, but didn't help on the lost voice memos. So I'm using three software programs to manage my one phone... Oh, and don't think the phone recordings are safe either. I've been a Mac user since the beginning and despite the hype I think the iphone is the worst thing they've made to date. has wasted much of my "free" time trying to make work.

Voice memos not syncing to iphone

I can’t seem to get my voice memos to sync back to my iphone 5 from the computer. I have all the voice memo boxes checked. The “voice memo” playlist is not showing up at all. On the second playlist, made up of a mixture of a couple of voice memos and 2 other tunes, the playlist with 2 other tunes show up but the 3 voice memos do not come with it.

I've always had the "Include Voice Memos" option selected. I think that only pertains to syncing voice memos from iTunes to the iPhone after it has been copied to iTunes. It has to be the new OS/iTunes not communicating that new memos have been recorded. For some reason they won't sync when I want them to, and then a few syncs later they magically appear.
By the way, I'm VERY comfortable with the iTunes and iPhone systems. I've been using iTunes for 5 years, and I've been recording class lectures with the iPhone voice memo app (and another app) for a couple years. It's not an error of not seeing that the memos were added; they don't exist in my library or music folders.

I tunes will not sync voice memos off of Iphone in yosemite

I just updated my macbookpro with the new Yosemite update. However, It won't let me sync voice memos off of my phone! I tried the same thing with my music library and I can only add to the iphone. It will sync music and voice memos on but not off. Photos and videos have come off my iphone so it is not an issue of nothing can be taken off. I have tried fiddling with new itunes forever but I just can't figure it out!
Oh and also it won't sync my contacts off my phone either....
If it helps, it is an iphone 4 so that may be a problem?

I use a program called iTools. It's an alternative for iTunes and it's more like import/export type of thing rather than sync. I like the windows version better but the Mac version works ok too. And it is free
