Voice over dvd movie

I played a movie on my laptop yesterday and it worked fine. Today i put in a brand new movie, and when the movie is playing, there's a female voice telling everything thats happenin in the movie. I went to my Narrator app and turned it on and back off, but there's still a voice over my dvd. I searched online and there was no question that was like my question. PLEASE help, its driving me insane.
This question was solved.

I went to play the movie on my laptop, and i went in the setup on the title screen of the movie, and i went to subtitles, and i clicked on English of the hearing impaired, and thn I went back out, then i went back in a nd turned that off. Well when i went to play the movie, my laptop froze, and i had to restart it. When the movie came back up, i played it from the beginning, and the voice over was gone! I was so relieved!!! I guess i ony needed to restart my laptop. Thank you so much for your help through this.

  • Voice Over not in proper folder

In FCPX , I set up a new event and then a new project, I edited the project and then did some voice overs.  WHen I looked for where it saved the voice overs, they were not in the project folder but in previous peroject folders.  WHY? I was looking because I was trying to dupolicate the project so I could make an alternative edit for a client and still keep the orig.  I couldnt get DUPLICATE PROJECT to work as it didnt duplicate the voice overs nand move them to the proper place.  What did I do wrong?
    Thanks...

There's something wrong here. The VO should not be in a project folder, but in the event folder. If you duplicate a project it may not duplicate the event unless you specifically ask the application to duplicate the media.

  • Can I make movies out of photos and add voice over as well as text?

Hi, I want to make movies out of some photos, and I want to add both text and voice over.
Is this something I can do with iMovie and if so, how?
    Thank you.

There are many ways to produce slide shows using iPhoto, iMovie or iDVD and some limit the number of photos you can use (iDVD has a 99 chapter (slide) limitation).
If what you want is what I want, namely to be able to use high resolution photos (even 300 dpi tiff files), to pan and zoom individual photos, use a variety of transitions, to add and edit music or commentary, place text exactly where you want it, and to end up with a DVD that looks good on both your Mac and a TV - in other words end up with and end result that does not look like an old fashioned slide show from a projector - you may be interested in how I do it. You don't have to do it my way, but the following may be food for thought!
Firstly you need proper software to assemble the photos, decide on the duration of each, the transitions you want to use, and how to pan and zoom individual photos where required, and add proper titles. For this I use Photo to Movie. You can read about what it can do on their website:
    http://www.lqgraphics.com/software/phototomovie.php
(Other users here use the alternative FotoMagico:  http://www.boinx.com/fotomagico/homevspro/ which you may prefer - I have no experience with it.)
Neither of these are freeware, but are worth the investment if you are going to do a lot of slide shows. Read about them in detail, then decide which one you feel is best suited to your needs.
Once you have timed and arranged and manipulated the photos to your liking in Photo to Movie, it exports the file to iMovie  as a DV stream. You can add music in Photo to Movie, but I prefer doing this in iMovie where it is easier to edit. You can now further edit the slide show in iMovie just as you would a movie, including adding other video clips, then send it to iDVD 7, or Toast,  for burning.
You will be pleasantly surprised at how professional the results can be!
To simply create a slide show in iDVD 7 onwards from images in iPhoto or stored in other places on your hard disk or a connected server, look here:

No not really. If this is a brand new Macbook Pro take it back for a refund. Apple has a 14 day No Questions Asked return policy for Full refund.
Take it back, get the Full Refund (DO NOT LET THEM TRY TO FIX IT. YOU BOUGHT A NEW COMPUTER NOT ONE THAT HAS BEEN WORKED ON OR NEEDS TO BE FIXED) and then decide whether to buy another Macbook Pro or the iMac. Or you could return it, get the Full refund and buy some other brand computer.

  • Filter for movie trailer voice over?

Does anyone know of a filter I can use in CS6 or purchase that will enable me to alter my voice to sound more like one of those scholarly sounding voice overs used for movie trailers?
    Thanks.

Maybe you don't need a " filter" for after the fact.. you may be able to make your voice sound like that as you record it....
For example, if you wanna sound like a smart person from New England states.. you can put a clothes pin on your nose as you speak.
Use words like, " one has to know one's history to know one's potential, doesn't one ? "
Alternately, if you wanna sound like someone from the SouthWest.. like Texas for example, you can talk through a sock....just roll up a common cotton sock and speak through it into mic....and use words like, " Heck, it aint rocket science to know about the history of this place ! "
add some background stuff like cattle braying and you're in like Flint !

I just want to get started with my new out of the box MacAir.  I canot move beyond the voice over welcome screen.  It seems to be stuck.  What do I need to do to advance out of it?

Bt seem to have got their act together. After six days! All of a sudden it works. What a surprise, shame their help desk would not admit anything was wrong.

  • How Do I Watch/Preview Movie and Record Audio (voice over) Simultaneously

First.. thank for taking the time to read this post -- much appreciated.
I located another post that someone reported which is almost identical to issue I am experiencing with Garageband. Here is the link
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=4741084&#4741084
I have attempted to follow through the solution that was provided, however I was unable to successfully resolve the issue.
Essentially, what I would like to do is this. After importing my iMovie project to Garageband, with a use of a Mic, I wish to record a commentary audio track or voice over while I watch my video/movie in the Movie Preview pane from the Track Info window at the same time. I can not rely on the Movie track line as my preview or movie window to watch the movie.
However, for some reason, I can not figure out how I can get the movie preview pane to show/display while I am recording. To help illustrate my problem, I have I posted a video of the issue. Please feel free to view the video and help me understand if this is by-design behavior in GB or a bug or simple 'user error'

    Appreciate your immediate help
    Thank you!
    Rami

Hey Hangtime, give you permission to kick me in the head! I feel stupid now knowing that it is a silly user error. Here I was trying to figure out if its in the 'Details' frame.
In otherwords, 'Detail's is set to '>' and not pointing downwards.
Funny thing is, you would think there would be a scroll bar to move up and down to reveal the Movie Preview frame if the 'Details' pane is expanded in the Track Info window.
    In any case... Thanks HT!

  • Voice Over : Mouse pointer moves VO cursor Question

    Hi!!
I have low vision, and i want to use the voice over with my mouse and/or trackpad. Im able to see where the text is but i cant read it well. When I enable the Voice Over I select "Mouse pointer moves Voice Over cursor in the preferences. This works fine for me, vut i noticed that when i drag the pointer over the finders sidebar it select the folders without me clicking on them. Something similar happens in Safari when scrolling the web page. There is any way to avoid this?? The Voice Over with the keyboard is very nice but  sometimes I rather use the mouse.
    Thanks in advance!!

  • How to make a movie from a PowerPoint with a voice over

Hi - as the title suggest, I'd like to record a movie of a PowerPoint presentation with me providing the voice over. I'd then post this onto our company intranet for others to review the presentation.
Any ideas how I'd do this?
    Thanks

An easy way would be to export each powerpoint slide as a JPEG file. Import these into an iPhoto album. Drag the iPhoto album into your movie through the Photo Browser and add your voiceover.
It might also be possible to export your powerpoint presentation as a QuickTime movie, but it would be important to do it as a timed presentation rather than a manually advanced presentation, because iMovie will not import manual advance tracks, closed captioning tracks, chapter tracks, etc.
I have imported presentations from KeyNote but have never tried a PPT.

  • I am adding a voice over - it plays when I am in "clip trimmer" mode but NOT in the actual movie ... frustrating - any help?

I am adding a voice over - it plays when I am in "clip trimmer" mode but NOT in the actual movie ... frustrating - any help?am in

In Finder you will find the voiceover in the project's package contents folder. If on your internal drive, the project will be in your User (Home) folder Movies/iMovie projects. If on an external drive it will be in the iMovie Projects folder at the top (root) level of the drive.
Right-click (or Control-click) on the project name and select Show Package Contents from the pop-up menu. There should be a file named something like Voiceover Recording.caf in the package contents folder. Copy and paste this .caf file to the Desktop. See if it will open in QuickTime, GarageBand or another program capable of editing audio, such as MPEG Streamclip or Audacity (both free). If it will open, save (export) it in a different format, such as AIFF, preferably to a location where it will not be moved, such as iTunes.
Now drag that file into iMovie to the desired position (if in iTunes drag from iMovie's music browser panel). Hopefully it will now play correctly.

  • I movie cannot voice over

Since i do the projects, i can voice over and export to mp4 files many many files.
Last few days I found that I couldn't voice over anymore, i clicked on the button (microphone), nothing happened. Then I tried to save the movie, it couldn't too.
Now i need some help to export all of my files from Theater. Or any suggestion to get my files back.
    Thanks in advance.
    Tida

Drag the iMovie application from the Applications folder to the trash. Empty the trash.
    Reboot.
Go to the Mac App Store and in the "purchases" section, re-download and install iMovie.

  • Streaming DVD movies over Dual Band Airport Extreme Airdisk

    Hello,
This is my first post in the discussion forums. I have been a long time reading of the discussion forums. I recently bought a late 2009 dual band Airport Extreme base station. I have been trying to stream DVD movies (TS_VIDEO) using the Airdisk feature. What I did, as an experiment, was to hook up the dual band Airport Extreme to my 2009 Mac-Mini using an ethernet cable from the base station to the Mac-Mini. I enabled file sharing on the Airport extreme base station. I hooked an external hard drive to the base station via a USB port on the base station. I mounted the Airdisk on the Mac-MIni. When I play the ripped DVD movies (TS_VIDEO) from the Airdisk I get a lot of stuttering using Front-Row. According to the Apple customer service reps, this is normal behavior. Can anybody comment on if this is normal behavior.

An uncompressed DVD should have a maximum data rate of around 6 or 7 Mbps and so be well within the nominal 300 Mbps of an 802.11n network - even allowing for the slower actual speeds attained due to networking overheads and weak signals. However, given that you have the latest Airport Extreme it sounds like you may be suffering from the common fault many are reporting in these forums, in which disk transfer rates are very, very slow over the 5GHz 802.11n connection. Look at some of the other threads here. It is clearly a fault in the current design (not a fault with your particular unit) and something that Apple are apparently aware of. Most are hoping it will be resolved in an updated firmware at some point in the future.
Edit: I just re-read your post and notice that you said you used a physical connection between the Airport and the Mac Mini. Thus no wireless involved. Nevertheless, others have reported poor data rates with disks connected to the unit, and so this may still be the issue. Check out some of the other threads here.

Open the powerpoint presentation, on the click on the 'file' button located at the top left of the menu bar, click on 'save as' at the bottom of the window that opens you should see a dropdown format gliff that says powerpoin presentation .pptx; click on the gliff and choose 'movie.mov'

  • Loading DVD movies into iTunes 10.6.3 over OS10.6.8 stream to iPad

    Hi,
I am on holidays and want to watch a DVD (No Code of Conduct, always been a Martin Sheen fan) I bought at a Yard Sale. My van is set up to port the iPad audio through the van stereo and has a mounting bracket for the iPad that makes it handy to watch while in the bed. Fortunately, I brought my MacBook along for the DVD player. I want to watch the movie on the iPad while it is playing in the MacBook. I tried to load the DVD into iTunes for Home Sharing , but no luck there.
How do I stream a DVD movie to my iPad from my MacBook?
    Ken

Sorry Winston, but I can and have done it.
Not the way I wanted to but it works none the less.
First, convert the DVD to a format usable by iTunes
Second, import the converted movie to iTunes and turn on home sharing for the MacBook AND the iPad, log in both machines
Third, make sure both devices are connected to the same network. I also tried turning on web sharing on the MacBook but for some reason we sharing wouldn't run so I connected to an another available network.
Last, run Video on the iPad, select the movie and badda bing, it works.
NOTE, try this with a better movie next time. Although I like Martin Sheen, not the best choice.
    Ken
PS. I'll report back when I get websharing working to see if it runs without an outside network.
PPS. Since the movie was loaded into iTunes it was easy to sync the movie into the iPad for watching without the help of the MacBook.
