Voice over suddenly doesn't play audio

I have been adding several voice over clips to my movie. Now on the most recent one, I record it, the audio levels show up, but when I play it back...nothing.
Mic is working, it shows that it's recorded, but can't get any sound to play.

Similar issue here.
Every CD I put into my MacBook Pro mounts as a Blank CD. I get this:
"You've inserted a Blank CD"
Therefore I can no longer import CD's to itunes.
DVDS are fine but Audio CD's not working.

What is the source of the videos and movies? Downloaded from the iTunes store or did you convert them from other sources? If the latter...
QuickTime expects video files with separate video and audio tracks, but many MPEG formats used a muxed (multiplexed) single track that contains both. Therefore, iTunes & the iPod (both of which use QuickTime) only show the video and no sound.

Video in swc doesn't play audio

Hi, I have a flv on the timeline. When I export a swf the audio plays. When I export a swc and instantiate the movie clip that houses the flv on the timeline, the audio doesn't play. Is there something I should look for to fix this? Any tips?

I too, found that A3 Slideshow to be very cumbersome... I gave up and went back to iMovie. Much better and quicker, especially adding music and "knowing" exactly where the music will start and end. My daughter's wedding was last week and I wanted to show quick shots of the 'happenings', using A3 slideshow (bad mistake). I was totally embarrassed; songs overplayed to the wrong location and played songs that were previously deleated (and they didn't show up as songs to be played, go figure). Anyway, iMovie was and is so much better. A3 slideshow process needs to be worked on.

ALSA and WINE: Doesn't play audio on 32-bit prefix

I have made a 32-bit prefix for WINE, however the sound does not seem to work whilst on a 32-bit prefix. I have installed the lib32 packages that the Wiki page has told me to install, however it does not play audio. One of the programs I have installed shows that music is indeed playing, however there is no sound being outputted. Winecfg's audio test doesn't play anything.

I can confirm that I have all six of those packages installed on my system.
For some reason, WINE outputs this when Test Sound is clicked, unsure if it relates to the audio issue or not.

My imported AVI file doesn't play audio in Premiere Pro CS5 nor Encore CS5

Hi there,
I've been trying to find a solution for my "audio" problem for a few days now, but no luck...
First of all I'd like to mention that I work on a Mac.
I have an AVI file that plays perfectly fine in Quicktime (audio and video).
However, when I import it in Encore or Premiere, it shows the video but there's no audio.
I understand this probably has something to do with codecs? But I really have no clue what I can do about it.
I was working in Encore at first, cause I don't really need any editing, just a dvd I'd like to burn. Since the audio didn't work there I've tried importing in Premiere. Same problem of course. Then I tried to seperate the audio and video and transfered it into Soundbooth. Didn't change anything.
Another problem that occurred in Encore was some errors with gaps. I have about 10 AVI files that I put on the same timeline. Any advice on what I can do about that?
I'm kinda new in all of these things, so any help would be much appreciated.

My project settings in Encore: I took the standard for a dvd Pal widescreen:
And in Premiere I've tried the 4 different standard settings for DV PAL. All the same result with the red line.
I've read the articles about the codecs, but I really could use some help what I can do next. Should I convert it to an MPEG2 for dvd file for example? Which converter (free?) is good for Mac?
Or is there something else I need to do?
I understand how the programs work but I really don't know so much technical stuff about sound and video.
Oh, and just for your information: I imported an MP3 file also in the project, to play at the main menu, and that one is playing just fine, no problems there.

Importing JVC .mod file (mpg equivalent) doesn't play audio

In After Effects CS6:
The import appears to happen correctly: video plays correctly and the little green audio graph (under the image thumbnail) even appears to look right. However when playing a preview no audio is heard.

Hit the zero key on th numeric keypad. AE will preview as much of the comp as memory allows. It may even preview in real time, depending on the resolution and frame rate of your comp.
If it doesn't, I recommend a trip to AE's online help for a look-see at the section entitled, "Views and Previews"... and don't fall into the trap that hitting the space bar will give you the preview you seek.

Aggregator suddenly doesn't play all of the projects after updates

I finished an aggregator project, checked it, etc. It was working fine. Then I downloaded some Adobe updates (Flash, Shockwave, Flash Player and Captivate 5), next thing I know, people are telling me that the project no longer works. I open it up, test it, and the files from the 3rd on won't start. They can be accessed from the Table of Contents, but they don't play. The playbar either doesn't move, or jumps back after a second. Nothing was changed in the files, I checked for pauses, Preferences options, nothing is set to pause/restrict playback. Also, the 3rd file's skin shows options that were unchecked. You can't move the playbar or skip ahead, but you can go back or forward to the other "frozen" files using the TOC.
Another wierd thing is that sometimes when I reopen the browser, it starts from the 1st frozen file and the TOC doesn't work at all. The swfs play fine when tested individually. I ended up having to make separate .exe files and linking them. Problem with this is that we need the htmls and when they are programed to open another project at the end, the original project doesn't close. Because of the nature of our work, we need one file to move on to the other without creating clutter of multiple browser windows open.
If anyone has encountered this, I would really appreciate some help. I have checked/changed internet settings, trusted site settings, system restored to before the updates, but nothing. I even had a co-worker republish the files from his non-updated computer and it still doesn't work.

You said you updated Flash player. What major and minor version number did you update to?
Were these projects originally created in Captivate 5 or an earlier version (e.g. Cp4)?
When the files don't play at all, what do you see? Is it a black screen?

Airplay Desktop from new macbook doesn't play audio

Airplay video is working fastastically from my new 13" macbook pro, but it's not playing any audio. My iPhones and iPads don't have this problem, plays videso and audio to my appleTV and audio system without problems - but I can't get any audio to get there from the my laptop. Any thoughts?
I have tried to go into the audio output system prefs where it gives me an "apple TV" option, but when I click on it nothing happens.

Encore 2.0 doesn't play audio from .mpg file

A long (1,5 hour) file transcoded from APPro 2.0 with media encoder.
Encore 2.0 takes about 20 min to import that file as asset, and then - no audio playing in preview!
I thought it was transcoding, or smth. and waited for an hour - still no audio! Not at the begining, nor at the end...
Media player plays that file OK.
Encoder 1.5 imports and plays that file OK in 30 sec!!!
I wonder what is the problem now ???!!!
I tried to make another (new!) project with ONLY this file on the ONLY "first play" timeline - the same result
In some previous projects .mpg files played OK, what ' th difference?

QuickTimeKirk, thanks a lot for your answer, but I'm interesting in Mobile Safari, not IE, FF or Opera This is these problems appear only for iphone browser, for others ones it works fine, even in Safari for Windows. So, autoplay still doesn't work... And please consult me about quicktime player browser's plugin, I mean why I cannot play sound with javascript function [documetn.getElementById("qtplayer").Play()] without opening sound track in plugin window? I really need playback in background. Or is it feature of quicktime?

How to do a voice over for video?

I am using the Adobe CS4 Production Premium suit to produce my first training video. I need to go back and do voice overs to clean up the audio. I am looking for the ideal setup to do this. I am new to the whole video production arena, so these questions I am sure are very basic:
First off, it is my understanding that the speaker needs to be watching the final cut of the video as to keep in line in pace with him moving lips. The person in question is not a professional, thus not accustom to listening to himself as he is recorded. Should he be listening to the audio that he is going to be replacing (the playback), the live audio he is creating, or both? If both, I am assuming one channel is the live and the other is the playback, correct?
I am looking at USB style microphones and some of them have headphone monitoring ports on the microphone that result in zero latency. This sort of implies to me that I cannot rely on Soundbooth to play the audio/video and mix back in the live audio for the speaker. That if mixing the two together for the headset, I will need to do that all outside of the computer. Is that correct?
Or is the simplest setup to encode the video clip to DVD and have the speaker simply watch it on a regular TV and listen to the audio playback with the headset and I monitor him via Soundbooth?
As you can tell, I am simply trying to figure out how to setup everything to make the voice over recording as quick and easy as possible, both of which I know it is not. I am open to ideas, I am even more open to any web sites or books that might help explain and talk about how to do this type of voice overs.

Voice over is making the animation slower??

hey there,
i'm currently working on a Flash presentation where i have to
synchronize the animation with a certain voice over, everything
goes well if i set the sound properties are set to (stream), but
since it's a voice over, i have to set the sound properties to
(event) so i can get the best sound quality.
The problem is that when i do that (set the sound properties
to "event") the animation becomes slower when i export to swf and
not synchronized with the voice over (which doesn't happen if the
sound properties are set to stream).
Does anyone know what i should do??
PS. frame rate is 25
file size is 512 x 720 pixels

For me personally, it was a breakthrough to think of
ActionScript in
terms of objects. Rather than thinking of basic commands like
the ones you
mentioned (and which might be a jumble of anything), think of
movie clips --
which is what timelines are, even if they aren't movie clip
symbols -- as
solid, manipulatable objects, like a wooden block, a Rubik's
cube, or any
other item you can hold in your hands. Objects have
characteristics (number
of frames, width and height, x and y position, etc.), which
are known as
properties; they can do things (gotoAndPlay(), play(),
stop(), etc.), which
are known as methods; and they can react to things (onPress,
onRelease,
onMouseMove, etc.), which are known as events.
Objects are defined by something called classes, so if
you're dealing
with a movie clip, look up the MovieClip class in the
ActionScript 2.0 (or
3.0) Language Reference. If you're dealing with non-static
text fields,
look up the TextField class. Sounds? Look up the Sound class,
and so on.
Each of these class entries will give you property, method,
and/or event
summaries, as available. Class entries are basically your
Owner's Manual
for the object at hand -- and the Language References in the
Help docs is
tightly organized around this concept. No more hunt and peck,
or in the
very least, the sense of hunting-and-pecking for answers is
greatly reduced.

video training materials online, such as Lynda.com. I
occasionally dip into
those, but I also find books very helpful. I haven't had any
formal
training in Flash (if you don't count books), and I'm a full
time Flash
contractor.
I've been recommending Object-Oriented ActionScript for
Flash 8 lately,
by Todd Yard and Peter Elst (friends of ED). The same authors
have a new
edition for Flash CS3 that just hit the shelves. That will
get you up to
speed on an object-oriented approach to Flash. You might also
want to check
out Foundation ActionScript, by Sham Bhangal (friends of ED),
or the new
Foundation ActionScript 3.0 with Flash CS3 and Flex 2, by
Steve Webster and
Sean McSharry (friends of ED) -- that one is currently
available on
pre-order at Amazon.
Tom Green and I wrote a companion book to the newer
Foundation
ActionScript book, so I'd recommend that too, but ours is
aimed more at
designers, though it does introduce and use AS3 in many of
the chapters.

Does the dock manufacture say it is compatible with the 5G iPod with iOS 6.0.1?
Have you went to the manufacturer's support site? Contacted them?
Try resetting the dock. How you do that depends upon the dock

- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
