Voice Over Wifi Issue: random service interruption

Hello,
I have implemented a Voice over Wifi solution based on WLC 4404, AIR-LAP 1131G and CP-7921G. The Security mode deployed is WPA PSK. I have a random interruption on wireless access witch cause the CP 7921G to lose connectivity to the CUCM, even if the Phone is near to the AP and does not move. What can be the cause of the problem. Thank you in advance.
Best Regards
Houichi Nizar

Hi,
we are experiencing the same issues.
The VoWifi design guides (i.e. TPC, DCA, Media, EDCA, WMM, QoS) have been followed setting up the Controllers.
Tested WLC4402 / WLC4404 with firmware versions 4.2.207 and 7.0.116.
Experiencing the issues on 7921G (firmware 1.3.4SR1) and 7925G phones (firmware 1.3.4SR2 and 1.4.1SR1).
The access points used are 1242G with a mix of AIR-ANT1728 and AIR-ANT24020V-R diversity antennas.
It is a warehouse environment. Phones are very near to access points.
We only use 802.11b/g for wireless phones and data clients.
The only issue I found is the cell size which is small and AP transmit power is low.
Auto RF and Auto DCA is enabled. AP power levels are 5, 6 or even 7 in areas with a lot of access points.
We have a high density b/g clients on some areas in the warehouse and added some access points to seperate the AP load.
Kind regards,
Rob Vreede.

  • Voice over wifi?

I was wondering if the iphone service has the ability to transmit voice calls over wifi. T-mobile's "hotspot" service does this and it seems like a great idea.

T-Mobile only does so for users of it's T-Mobile @Home subscription option, who have UMA-capable mobile handsets or smartphones.
It's a great option, but it does nothing for other users, and is not VoIP in the traditional sense. It's primary benefit to subscribers is to shunt calls from the carrier network to an IP interface, and exempt such calls from the 'per minute' meter which measures monthly rate plan minute allowances during prime time.
From a practical point of view, it allows subscribers to drop their monthly minute totals from, for example, 1000 minutes per month to 600 minutes per month, thus saving $ 30.00 per month. Less the additional $ 9.95 cost per month of the option, that's typically a net savings of $ 20.00 per month or more.
It is also an excellent option for those who want to finally 'dump' their existing landlines, who've maintained them primarily to insure strong performance in areas of week reception. With HotSpot @ Home, reception is not an issue, as the equivalent 'distance to the nearest cell tower' is now the distance between your UMA-capable handset and your WiFi gateway or router.

  • Bus over wifi issue

    Hi
I'm looking for some advice for a ln issue I've just started having with my torch. I can use Bis over the mobile network but not over wifi. I have tried wifi at different locations but no luck. I've registered my phone on the blackberry network, I've tried service books but again makes no difference. I can use wifi to browse the Internet etc just not Bis. O2 are proving zero help as its a wifi issue, is there a way to contact blackberry directly?
    Many thanks

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
I've read some things recently about O2 changing their service offerings and perhaps removing BIS access via WiFi. I cannot recall for sure, but you should get them to confirm if indeed you should even be able to do as you are attempting.
O2 has, however, fobbed you off...you PAY them for 100% of your services and 100% of your formal support...they are delivering neither to you right now. They have the ability to escalate cases that they cannot resolve into RIM...end users have no other free path by which to receive any formal support from RIM.
    Good luck!

  • Verizon Messenger will not send over wifi

I am using Verizon Message + on my S5 and for some reason it won't send text's over wifi. The service in my house is poor so text over wifi is important to me. I had a Droid Maxx prior to the S5 and it had no issues. Is this something with the S5 or is there a setting I am missing? This does work properly on my Samsung Tablet.

Hmm, that's strange eljeffe17! You should be able to send texts over WiFi with Verizon messages. Has this ever worked correctly for you on the S5? When did you upgrade your device? What is the exact error message you are getting?
    Thank you,

  • Brand New MacBook Air Randomly Resetting (IMO WiFi Issue)

    Good evening,
    My problem is as follows:
I purchased a brand new Macbook Air last week and since the get go have been having issues while transferring large amounts of data over WIFI. The issue is that it seems when there is no activity (I leave the files transferring and have no interaction with the computer) and the files are transferring, some sort of error occurs and creates the system to panic and subsequently reboots.
I have contacted Apple, and they ran me through a few common procedures (Reset SMC, RAM, Disk Repair, etc...). On my own I also ran the Hardware Tool several times and the results was always the same (everything in perfectly working order). I also did a restore in the event that it may be some faulty system file, yet to no avail as the problem persists.
As per my title, I believe it has something to do with WiFi card, as I even disconnected all peripherals (USB Apple Keyboard & My Passport External HDD), yet again and as mentioned above the system continues to reboot without any apparent reason.
Below is a copy of the log, certain information has been changed such as UUID, but everything else is as is.
Could it be a hardware problem? As I am only seeing (as of now) this happen whenever I leave the computer and it is downloading a file.

  • Device is connected to to a wifi network but does not have access to Blackberry services over wifi connection

please help me, my blackberry curve has been working perfectly fine (everything network and wifi connection are working great) since i got it but all of the sudden when i connect to our wifi at home i noticed that the wifi logo on the upper screen is grayed out. i checked the manual and it says: device is connected to to a wifi network but does not have access to Blackberry services over wifi connection. i dont  know what to do, i tried the hard reset (removed batt for 1 min while phone is on and put it back in) i also tried to remove the wifi profile and added it back up but still nothing seems to work, my service provider has BB services available on my phone, i can received BBM, pushed email, use FB on my phone using my network but i cant use my wifi to browse.. what should i do? help me please!

With a PC, the Windows Firewall and/or the anti-virus software will sometimes block an attempted Internet connection.
Check both applications to see if you can find a "blocked" item and then take steps to "allow" the connection.
If still no luck, temporarily disable the wireless security for a short period to see if the PC can connect that way. If it can.....then you know it is security related issue.
See if the PC can connect using a setting like WPA-PSK-TKIP. The equivalent Apple setting would be WPA/WPA2 Personal.

  • Issue with voice over narration for a presentation

When I record a voice over narration (Keynote 09) and then play back - the slides do not always play back with the sound. It seems to be an issue with slides using a build-up ... although it finishes - it then sticks and the sound for the next slide carries on out of sync to the visual - EG - every time I try it happens on the same slides - A good example is one that is followed by a .mov built into a slide. The sound track runs before the new slide image appears - Also I have problems with the movie - as the sound from the .mov file does not come through, so I have to record the movie sound on the narration rack .. confused!?

It sounds like you are making too many assumptions and not actually testing anything.
For instance, emoji may not cause issues for other contacts (maybe it is and you don't know it) but if I were testing this issue, the first thing I would do is remove the emoji from the contact info.
Next thing I would do is make a fake contact called "Home Other". And see if the Voice Control asks you to pick between Home and Home Other
Another thing I would do is add multiple numbers for your home contact (real or fake) And see if you can get the Voice control to find the contact and ask you what number you want to pick. (home or mobile)
And last thought that I had....You mentioned that the Voice Control dials a random person every time, but how random is it really? Are you sure that part of these people's names don't phonetically sound similar to the word Home?

After a week's worth of debugging, I found the issue.
The Java type returned from the call was defined as ArrayList.  Changing it to List resolved the problem.
I'm not sure why ArrayList isn't a valid return type, I've been looking at the Adobe docs, and still can't see why this isn't valid.  And, why it works in Debug mode and not in Release build is even stranger.  Maybe someone can shed some light on the logic here to me.

  • Voice Over Issue

I have a take a powerpoint presentation and I have converted it to a pdf  file. When I open the PDF file and turn on the voice over, it  translates all instances where the letters i and t are side-by-side  (i.e. objectives would be objec<?>ves). I used special characters  to replicate what I get but it is really a diamond with a question mark  in the middle. I have checked the test for formatting issues that could  have caused it and tried and I am still having the same problem? Can  some help? Does anyone have a solution or know why this is happening?

I'd follow Sue on this, Greg. It's not something you're doing wrong. It's iMovie that sometimes gets confused about what clip plays what sound, and when. (I recall a long discussion about this in the early days of iMovie 5, if I recall, where we found a recipe to create the problem. I don't recall the details, but it involved voiceovers.)
If the voiceover you're replacing is the only clip in its source file, non-destructive editing won't prevent us from getting rid of it. Try trashing the audio clip that's on the Timeline, then open the Trash window, select it, and tell iMovie to discard the selected clip. If it's the only clip using its source file, that will get rid of it. Quit iMovie, then re-open the project and try a new voiceover.
If that doesn't work, try moving the source file of the clip outside the Media folder as Sue suggested. iMovie doesn't like our messing around inside the Media folder, but it may be your only option.

I did the 5.1.1 update over wifi, had update issues, then updated on Itunes no problem, now my phone continues to freeze and restart, any suggestions on how to correct this - thank you

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).  Has any of this been tried?

I have two iPhone 4 at home, slow slow downloads. One of them I've tested WiFi at work, Same issue. e.g. Apps take forever to download over WiFi compared to a AT&T-3G connection.

I have only just got an iphone 4 which I immediately updated to ios7 so have nothing to compare it with. But it doesn't even see networks that come up clear on the macbook. Same thing for a colleague in the same spot. previously I had an android phone which picked up just fine.

    Howdy eewebe13,
So you have no cellular service but are on Wi-Fi yet iMessage and Facetime are waiting for activation.
Please step through this article for that scenario.
