Voice Over with USB-Mixer results in Audio-Error

When I record VO with my Yamaha Mixer - connected over USB - somtimes Audio Recording makes issues.
It's this one: Yamaha MW10C
Buffer is at Maximum of 2048 with this device.
What can I do?

Hi m-sanchez,
I had the same problem with my USB mic on my MacBook Pro. I created a new aggregate device to fix it. Here is a link for Premiere Pro CS6 and Mac OS X, but you can adapt the instructions for Premiere Pro CC.

Not sure what to suggest for Windows users. Let us know if you have any questions.

  • Voice Over with Soundtrack Pro

I have spent about 8 hours on this and can't figure out how to voice over with Soundtrack Pro. I could do it with Soundtrack but something is different with this new version. I have not used StP that much, so I am relying on you pros out there to get me started in the right direction! Thanks everyone for your help.
I did search for related topics but found nothing that was along the lines of what I needed.

Well, I finally found that if I switch to standard layout then the "transport controls" appear. For some reason they are not in the other layout that has separate mixer and video windows. Now I am recording and everything is fine.

  • Synchronizing Voice Over with Flash animations

Is there a way to time voice-over that has been imported via
the Adobe Presenter menu with specific events or visual cues within
an imported Flash file? For instance, having a visual in the Flash
file pop up when the narrator says something.
I saw some functionality in Presenter that alludes to what
I'm trying to do ... where you can sync the audio with PowerPoint
text transitions by dragging a marker to the appropriate spot on
    the sound wave bar.
    Thanks.

there are two ways to achieve synching with PPT animations,
through the "Synchronize Audio" tool or through the "Audio Editor"
which you eluded to. They are both menu options in the Presenter
    Menu

  • Using voice over with genius

I'm using voice over and I can't get my iPod to move through the genius mixes even though they're synced to it. It just stays on page 1/12 and won't go any farther into the list of mixes available. Any ideas on what to do?

All I can suggest is to look at the instructions in the Users Guide. There is a lot on VoiceOver. See chapter 31 of

  • Ad Server is playing 2 or 3 ad with a mix of video & audio--Not able to watch shows

So today I was trying to watch Extant and Proof, both times it was taking a while to load, when the ads played it had both audios for 2 ads and a mix of videos, it went on for a few hours.  I checked back & then any shows with ads (not the HBO shows) would not load at all, or would ONLY load the most recent.  Like I could only sometimes load the "New" Proof, but not the previous episode, it just "loading...." endlessly  It seems to be the ad server conflicting with streaming.  Go figure. Anyway, it gets so bad that I end up going to the NETWORKS WEBSITE to actually watch the shows -- I am sure your advertisers would LOVE to hear that.  Not only are 2 ad jumbling making both completely useless, but you are driving users away from Xfinity site completely.  I am able to watch Proof with absolutely no problems whatsoever on TNT's site.

  • Voice Over Using USB Headset

Is this even possible? I have upto now been using a dynamic mic through the camera as a preamp - firwire into the VO tool. That works fine but it would be easier to set up the USB Plantronics DSP 500 for the job.....sniffed around the postings but could not find anything on this.
Checked my settings and tried to record the VO but naddda?? The VO tool recognizes the headset but just scrubs the timeline when I click record.

Seems like you should be able to do it but the USB audio interface seems to have some strange problems with FCP. I use a Koss headset/mic into a Griffin iMic device. Works great. But the iMic contains a USB-powered preamp.

  • Using f4vpp.exe with MP4 file results no audio

    Hello,
I'm recording MP4 webcam videos using Flash 11.1.102.63 and publishing them on my FMS 3.5.6.  When playing back MP4 files using my Flash player, both video and audio works perfectly.
However, I also need to make my MP4 files play on other players (like Windows Media Player).  As I found out quickly, the MP4 file encoded by FMS is not playable without conversion.  After some googling, I found that the post processor tool f4vpp.exe allows to flatten the MP4 file so that it plays with Media Player.
The problem is that F4VPP seems to remove the audio part in the file.  My MP4 file consists of H264 video and NellyMooser audio (which is the default audio recording codec with Flash).  I also tried using Speex codec for audio but still no sound after using F4VPP.
I've seen some comments around about this bug.  Unfortunately, the download page (http://www.adobe.com/products/flash-media-server-family/tool-downloads.html) refers to the tool as dated of June 2009.  Is there an updated version with a fix?
Otherwise, I'm trying to reproduce the work done by the tool using ffmpeg.exe.  So far, the closes I have been able to do is this:
    ffmpeg.exe -i input.mp4 -c:v copy -ar 44100 -async 1 -sameq output.mp3
The problem is that the video encoding seems loosing something, as the output video has blocky/pixelated parts in the video that seems random.  Probably related to something in the conversion, but I can't figure out what.
Can anyone point me to a solution?
    Thanks.

I have the same issue!! Adobe, help!

  • Crackling and glitches when recording voice overs in premiere pro cc

    Hi,
I am trying to monitor my voice overs with minimal latency in premiere pro. I know that lowering the buffer size reduces latency, but adds strain to the CPU.
The problem that I encounter is crackling and weird glitch sounds when I drop the buffer size to 256 within the ASIO settings. I find it odd that my CPU can't keep up seeing as how the resource monitor doesn't show 'CPU Usage' higher than 10%.
When I raise the buffer to 512, the crackling and weird sounds disappear, but there is a slight delay present in the headphones.
There are no plug-ins or effects in use.
Would anyone know why this is happening, or if there's anything that can be done?
    Thanks!
    Equipment being used:
    Audio Technica AT-2020 (USB Mic)
    i7 3770k @ 4GHz
    32gb RAM
    NVidia Geforce GTX 670
    Win 7 Pro
    256gb SSD
    2TB HDD

Yes. The procedure I went through was the following.
    1) Add Mono Track (Audio 3)
    2) Click on Mic Icon in Audio 3, in the Audio Mixer.
    3) Click on Record Button. Watch it flash.
    4) Press the space bar to record.

  • Voice over and blackmagic

hello I am useing mac . I was useing finalcut pro 7 but I want to use premiere pro . i have some problems
1 voice over problem i connected centrance micport pro with usb i can see audio hardware but when i want to record it is saying eneble tracking for recording . What can i do
    2. if i want to send footge with any bridge (fire wire) what can i do

so many options here but to start with basics:
    using Firewire:
mic > XLR cable > XLR mic input of mixer > Firewire out of mixer > Firewire Input of Mac
    using Decklink:
mic > XLR cable > XLR mic input of mixer > balanced output of mixer > balanced line in of Decklink
the mixer must have a mic input, which has an internal preamp, a line level input is no use; you need some thing like this ?

  • Recommend Mic for Voice Over

I need to do a Voice Over with a customer and wondering about an affordable mic recommendation.
Or is there a better quality way to record a voice track than a mic hooked up to the audio in port?
    thanks,
    Al

    Al,
You can use almost any dynamic mic (via the audio-in port on your Mac) or a USB based mic. Of course better quality mics will yield better results. I use a pair of AudioTechnica Pro4A's that I got off eBay. And you can't go wrong with a Shure SM58 which you can get for $89 at B&H PhotoVideo.
The Blue Mic Snowball USB mic is very popular and often recommended.

  • Mac Book Air, cannot exit Voice Over at initial start up

New Mac Book Air; initial power-up; selected English language; 'Welcome' screen defaults to 'United States'; cannot manually 'Continue' to register and set up; 'esc' results in starting the Voice Over tutorial; 'Command+F5' results in seeing/hearing 'Voice Over off'...can't get past this 'loop'.
    Ideas???

I think your issue here is the combo of Lion on the air and the TC on latest firmware.
There is a longish thread here exploring the problem. Start from the end and work backwards.. as we become more intelligent as we try different solutions.
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3526741?tstart=0
But you should ring apple support and get them working on it.. perhaps they already know of it and have a work around.. this is definitely a bug and lack of adequate testing to leave you in this situation.
I would say if you need to work through it yourself.. go back to 7.5.2 firmware if you are on 7.6.. just hold down the options key when you go to the top menu upload firmware, and the older versions will be listed.
Try with that, if not enough we might think through some more..
Your issue maybe more serious as most people are not losing internet just connection to the AFP share of the hard disk. Do you have another computer to plug into the TC by cable and see if you can check the logs and the TC wireless clients info?

  • Voice over.

    Forum,
I have been given help on this problem before but have not been able to resolve it.
Since my last post I have recorded the voice over using Soundtrack Pro and created a file which is on the desktop.
When the sound file is placed on an audio track below the camera produced audio tracks in the timeline I can not hear the voice over, however when placed on an audio track after the end of the completed video the dictated Soundtrack audio can be heard.
    Advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Michael.
    however

When the sound file is placed on an audio track below the camera produced audio tracks in the timeline I can not hear the voice over, however when placed on an audio track after the end of the completed video the dictated Soundtrack audio can be heard.
Look at the little VU meter on the right when you have the VO track by itself. Are both green bars moving or is just one green bar moving? If it's just one bar then you are out of phase (when placed with the camera tracks) and that's the culprit.

  • Voice Over: How to set Recording Range in Target ?

    Hi guys,
I need help on Voice Over. I have been doing Voice Over without problem.
But now I need help bcos I stumbled upon a new & irritating problem.
    QUESTION 1:
When I select Voice Over, I cannot click the RED button to start recording because at the Audio File in Target (just the above the space we are supposed to type the filename), it says:
    "No Recording Range set"
Previously, it automatically select A1, A2, A3 or A4 at random but this time it didn't and instead it says "No recording Range Set".
    What happened to system ?
    QUESTION 2:
How do I specifically set it to output to a track of my choice ?
    Thanks

Thanks Ian & Tom for the well explained answers. Now I understand.
    But I got another sub-problem.
Like Tom says, it will create another track if there is not enough room. But what I did is slightly different.
Ok, here is what I did. Not wanting to disturb the position of the rest of the voice-over clip, I locked all the audio tracks.
When I did a voice over, it push down a3 to a5, and a4 to a6 so I have two new unlock audio tracks in a3 and a4 where the system placed the voice over clip. When I finally put the voice over clip the the correct position in a5 and a6, I ended up with 2 blank audio tracks.
How do I delete these audio tracks ? I tried right-click and select delete track but the empty tracks remained there.
How do I delete the unwanted tracks, then ?
    Thanks

  • Voice Over workflow recommendations

    Hi,
I trying to find the most efficient way to get a good voice over in FCE. I used the voice-over tool in FCE but it seemed to be really noisy. I'm using a condenser mic running through a E-MU 0404 USB interface. What I ended up using was Garageband--the sound quality was really good, but to see the movie for the voiceover, I had to export the movie from FCE and then import to Garageband. I could then view the movie and record the voice over with GB.
This works, but I'm wondering if anyone has a better method.
    thanks

Thanks skalicki--I swear I checked that (famous last words . I just tried again and made sure I was getting the proper input from my mic and that sound is very good. That must have been the problem!
