Voice recording with Podcastudio from Behringer

Hi everybody, I've bought the Podcastudio to make voice-over. I've installed Live lite 4 which is provided with the equipement.It doesn't work. I've tried with Audacity, but same result. My computer is set to FCA202 (audio interface) but doesn't work.
Can you tell me which soft is the best to use, and how to set the one I got, because i'm hopeless at sound technic.

I just bought this as well and plugged it in and had no problems getting it to work at all.
Plugged the FCA202 into the firewire port on my Mac Pro and instantly the system recognized it and in the sound preferences for Input I selected it as source and when I plugged in the mixer and mic it saw the sound coming in immediately.
I didn't install any of the software that came with it yet but the sound panel and other programs that can read sound input all can see them without it.
I note your sig says you are still on 10.4, I am using 10.5.2. Don't know if that makes any difference.

Is there a pattern to the time of day or other detail that may be
traced back to a OS X system cause of this odd phenomenon?
Are there any copies of system files on any of the attached USB
external drives? Any libraries, such as iTunes, iPhoto, etc?
Once the drives are indexed by Spotlight, are their permissions
ignored by the OS X? Content, if neutral, should not affect the
wake or sleep cycle; especially if they're ignored by the OS X.
Could there be a bad cable or other component? If so that would
be a difficult process of elimination to detect it. Usually replacing
most suspect components in the USB stream (external to Macs)
is a rote way to mechanically test that idea; & not 100% sure.
Does the equipment all have a good ground to the utility or house
electrical field? An intermittent ground may affect more than sleep.
Hard to say at this point. Maybe a late-night talk radio guru on
remote viewing could peer into your situation and sleuth it out?
Sorry to have run out of ideas, but the process must be electrical
& mechanical to some extent. - Or perhaps odd software inspired.
Do you have any phone-home spyware items inside, just jumping
at the chance to spill your information? Little Snitch may help.
PS: Perhaps the computer needs to go into Apple & have a genius
or product specialist at AASP test the unit thoroughly... BlueTooth?

Want to use my voice recorder with my MacBook Pro

I have Olympus Voice-Trek V-11 and want to use it. The problem is that it's no longer supported by Mac. I use MacBook Pro with OS X 10.8.5. I appreciate it very much if anyone knows what should I do to make my voice recorder usable with my MacBook Pro?
In other words, I'm looking for something like Apache's Open Office to MS office suit.
I appreciate anyone's help very much!

Welcome to Apple Support Communities
To do what you want, do not use Migration Assistant. You will damage OS X. Instead, you need to erase the hard drive, remove everything from your MacBook Pro and restore the Time Machine backup, so you will be upgrading to OS X Mountain Lion.
It is as simple as holding down Command and R keys while your computer is starting up. Then, connect the external drive with the Time Machine backup, choose the option to transfer a Time Machine backup and follow the steps in the display.
As you will lose everything you have in the MacBook Pro, you may want to make a backup of its files first.

Master Data: 2 records with different FROM-TO dates

Hi,
I am extracting the master data from R/3. In R/3 the master data record is created with valid FROM: 01/01/1900 and valid TO: 12/31/9999. But when I extract the data into BW it is coming as 2 records one with 01/01/1000-12/31/1899 range and the other with 01/01/1900-12/31/9999.
What settings/steps I need to change to get only one record for now and of course in future any change to the records will comes as different valid date range.
When I schedule the info package, the update tab consist of Fixed time interval start date: 10/20/2005; end date: 12/31/9999.
Time being to avoid this in the transfer rule of FROM date info object selected constant option with date 01/01/1900 as in R/3????

I have assigned one-to-one from R/3 to BW.
In R/3 I have FROM and TO date and assigned these two fields to Transfer structure FROM and TO info objects.
I have maintained Transfer rule only after getting two records into BW for every one entry in R/3. In the rule I just assigned constant date to avoid 2 records for every entry from r/3. So nothing to do with the routine.
I want to see one record in BW for every entry coming from R/3. At present in the BW master data sitting as 2 records.
Example:
one record in R/3 with:
FROM date: 01/01/1900; TO date: 12/31/9999.
Inserted 2 records into BW with:
FROM date: 01/01/1000; TO date: 12/31/1899.
FROM date: 01/01/1900; TO date: 12/31/9999.

Is there anyway to use the macbook pro to record a lecture? I saw in downloads there was something called" quick voice recorder "
Has anyone used this? How does it work? I see it says a microphone is required.
I have one meeting that I need to record and I can't afford to purchase a digital voice recorder device for a one time use.

Your MBP has a built-in microphone.
I believe QuickVoice is a demo license (meaning without paying the license fee, it may be lacking some functions, record only for a limited time, etc.) - try it and see.

How many minutes can i record over voice recording.

In the Archwiki on the webcam page, it suggests GTK UVC Viewer from the AUR. I don't quite like cheese for video recording. I was excited after I played with the resolution and framerate and such in guvcview for the first time. I then was ready to start recording a test video. However, I can't find how to start/stop recording once I've started guvcview. I would appreciate knowing how to record video in it.

Student's voice recording with captivate 5

Hi there,
I would like to create a foreign language e-learning course where the students would record their reading of certain lines (as part of their teaching procedure).
Does anyone know if adobe captivate 5 can create a final SCO file that lets students record their voice?
If so, is it possible for them to play what has been recorded?

QuickTime: Screen Recording with audio from Flash video?

I saw a short flash video on a website that I wanted to save. SO I tried using the new QuickTime's Screen Recording feature, but no matter what options I use (Line input or Internal microphone), I get no audio.
Is this because Flash won't allow it, or am I doing something wrong?

just figured this out myself today. you're on right track.
open system pref and go to SOUND - got to OUTPUT tab and choose soundflower (2ch) as your OUTPUT
open safari and open a new window - drag SWF file into that. it should play in the browser window. hit pause on the video.
open quicktime. go to NEW SCREEN RECORDING, and use the arrow to the right to open options. Choose sound INPUT as soundflower (2ch). do not raise the volume in the record window - keep it at lowest possible else you'll get an echo.
you are ready to roll.
so the browser will be outputting sound to soundflower, whilst the quicktime screenrecord gets input from soundflower. works like a charm. sounds great.

How can I make a simple voice recording with no instrumentals?

I just want to record a song or two, save them individually and then burn to a cd. I don't need all of Garageband whistles and bells. I'm intimidated at the new 'event/project' start menu. I don't want to select a key or timing. I just want to sing the song using the mic on my iMac. This is not going to be posted for the general public and I don't want or need fancy. Suggestions? Guidance?

Mount an Olympus VN-2100PC voice recorder

I bought an Olympus VN-2100PC. That's a voice recorder with 64MB flash memory with the ability to connect to PC by USB. i bought it in hope, that it works on linux as an usb mass storage. well, that's not the case.
There is a disc with some windows software called "Digital Wave Player". The installation with wine doesn't work. Doesn't matter cause just the software wouldn't make arch to recognize the device.
So far: Is there anybody who got a device like this workin on arch or another gnu/linux distribution (or on a mac)?
maybe some of you find this information useful and can help:

my minds about it may help too:
The voice recorder uses Digital Wave format. Whatever that means. I just found it out by googling.
I think the device doesn't really store files on it's memory. Looks like the Digital Wave Player connects to it, plays the recorded audio (sort of virtual files) with the USB-connection as "output", records it and saves it to disc.
So, is there something like a Digital Wave Player (like the one on the disc mentioned above) for linux?

EDIT: If odvr fails with HQ, SP or LP quality files, either try this patch or this utility in place of sandec. I successfully used the latter.

Voice recording - disk sp

I have a 20 Gb Nomad Zen and am interested in doing some voice recording. Before I buy the FM voice thingy, does anybody know how many minutes of voice recording I get onto 20 Gb?

Just tried a short test voice recording with my Zen Touch. Looks like the start / stop of voice recordings are virtually unlimited, but the duration of all recordings added up cannot exceed 0 hours. Recording is in .wav format and I used Nomad Explorer to transfer from Zen to PC. Files could easily be burned onto an audio CD this way.
I bought the Zen Touch in Australia, and the FM / Voice recorder / wired remote came bundled with the deal for AU$399.00. I believe the wired remotes individual cost is around $50.00. The FM radio is very good with autoscan and about 20 preset station saves. It houses the built in mic with a small LCD readout depicting the tuned in station frequency or the track being played or the duration of the current recording etc.
I have only been playing with this unit for a week, and by no means consider myself to be an expert. Hope once again this helps you.

E-63 voice recorder hang

For media/office use, we bought 2 E 63. We want use it for our reporters gathering information on the field. All the other application work well but the voice recorder which is principal for reporter's job.
Voice recorder : original program from Nokia can only record once and it just hang after the first recording.
I think the problem lied down on software than on hardware. I browsed on internet where I found a freeware Sound Recorder 1.0.
Still we have the problem, it takes some click on button before Sound Recorder work well and never hang.
You can play the the file on the original nokia player and make it as sound bite for report from our journalists
