How many Voice connections can cisco 2821 support?

Good day.
I have a cisco 2821 with EVM slot, NME-X slot and two HWIC slots. I have 4 port FXOs on the two HWIC slots. The EM-HDA-8FXS module on the EVM slot can handle 8 FXS connections. Please i would like to know if there is an EVM module that can do FXO connections and also how many voice connections can this router handle in total. Can the EM-HDA-8FXS module handle both FXS and FXO connections?
Hope someone can help me out. My deadline has already passed.

Site-to-site international voice connectivity

We would like to establish Voice connectivity to reduce calling cost between our two offices,one is in india and the other one is in dubai.
We have not yet able to decide a cost effective tentative initaial setup between dubai and india ,,A dedicated internet lease line wuold be better or is there any other option
I would appreciate your feedback about feasibility of this solution and experience to share.

if you are more concerned on quality and clarity of the voice calls then i would suggest to go for IPLC instead of internt pipe.
You may not have proper SLA's for ILL when compared to IPLC.
Since its a P2P (IPLC) you can workaround on the code and end point devices also on both the ends.
Gives you more options in choosing your equipments and other related settings.

GPS Causes 3G and Voice Connection Loss!

Ok, on my Droid X....
If I enable GPS, and open an app that requires GPS, such as Google maps.....it disconnects my 3G and voice connection.
Please offer any suggestions to cure this.

it seems like maybe its a coincidence that the hardware gps went out about the same time.
Thanks for the tip. Downgraded with no change. It seems that its either gps on and no connection or connection/data and no gps. They refuse to be on at the same time.
Called CS today, they think its a hardware issue and I agree. Getting a replacement sent.

How does Xfinity Voice connect?

Hello all, I cannot seem to find a clear answer anywhere on how Xfinity Voice connects. I have a few questions that hopefully somebody can answer. 1. Does Voice connect directly to the landline, with a RJ11 plug, like a standard landline? Or are there specific phones that connect to your modem? Or do they use wifi? I have seen various answers, sorry for being a complete novice here! 2. Will I be able to use a phone during a power outage? I currently have the most basic version of AT&T phone service, and I can still use an older phone that has no power connection even when a storm comes through. 3. Can I use my old phones? I have one that has a central base that plugs into my phone jack and a power outlet, then two others that connect back to the main base wirelessly. I'd assume so if they work the same as the landline. Thanks and sorry again for being completely clueless. Cheers!

What is "Voice Connect"?

Within Phone Settings, under AT&T services, there is an option titled "Voice Connect."
I assumed this is a feature that allows you to dial out by voice, but I can't find anything about it in the User Guide, and using it results in a recorded voice listing categories that I can't understand (due to distortion).
Anyone know what this is all about?

Voice Connect refers to ATT "online" voice dialing service. I have it and find that it recognizes my commands about 50% of the time. In addition to dialing numbers, it has some news and information features. Since its an online service, you have to maintain your contacts list at the Voice Dial web site.
Also, you have to dial their number (*08) anytime you want to make a phone call; you can use the 'last number redial' feature on your headset to make it easier - but must always make sure that *08 was the last number dialed from your iphone. I've pretty much decided its easier just to use favorites list on the iphone instead of AT&T's voice dial service.

Voice connectivity over bluetooth lost for nokia x...

I had purchased nokia x6 around 3 months ago. Till yesterday, I was able to pair the X6 device with my bluetooth headset and also my car bluetooth device and everything was working fine.
Suddenly now, the device is able to pair with headset or car kit but absolute no voice is being heard through both channels. Phone without the bluetooth works absoolutely fine.
I am not able to listen to any music, voice, phone call or any sound at all once the phone is paired with any bluetooth device(bluetooth headset or car kit).
What can be the possible reason and solution? Please suggest urgently

Need help desperately.

Voice connection problem, one direction

I used video iChat from Europe to the US.Although I am using a mobile connection with limited Up and DOwnload speed (about 2000/250 kbit/sec) our video was excellent on both side.
Problem: The US side doesn't hear me but I hear them. We checked the audio settings both sides. What can it be? Please advise! Thanks

If the person is using multiple Output choices they will need to do the same for that in System Preferences > Sound > Output and the extra drop down that will appear in iChat > Preferences > Video section
On a tower putting speakers in the Line-out socket will show as Line-out in the System Preferences option.
Putting a headphone in the socket on the front does not cut this output like it does on a laptop.
They should open the Connection Doctor during a Chat from the Video menu.
This will show a graphic representation of your feed and a Frame rate and Bite rate fro you feed.
This will tell them if you are sending them Audio

Voice Signal Goes Dead for a Few Seconds From Time to Time

I live in a rural part of Marin County that has poor signal: one bar or less. I've purchased a signal booster which has increased my bar level to 4 -- which is terrific. What I'm noticing however is that the voice signal goes dead for a few seconds (5 - 10 seconds) during a conversation. This happens every few minutes. Voice connectivity then returns for a few minutes only to cut off again for a few seconds and so on. This happens if I'm inside my house. If I go outside, it doesn't seem to happen. I've turned the booster box this way and that but no change. I've also changed the ariel this way and that, but no change. What's up with this? It's very annoying to be on a call and have the sound go dead.

Hi yraglleb - Let's keep your audio clear and consistent! What model is your Network Extender? May I also ask the current iOS version of your device? Check Settings>General>About. Have you tested other phones on the same Extender? I look forward to getting this resolved!

Voice over Frame with FXS

I have two branch routers connected to central site over frame relay network.
Now i've put fxs cards in all three routers and want voice connectivity among all three routers.
Basically its like hub and spoke.. one central site connecting on sub-interface to two other sites on frame network.
What is the best way to configure these three routers ???
please advice

Your requirements seem vey simple so my suggestion is to keep the configuration very simple as well. You need a dialplan which allows each site to call the other two sites.
I would suggest you use voice over ip OVER frame, rather than just voice over frame. There is a little bit more overhead, but ease of troubleshooting and configuration makes it worth it.
You need two voip dial peers at most to differntiate what destination patterns go to which site and one pots dial peer for each FXS port that you have a phone attached to.
For QOS, i suggest using frame relay traffic shaping and if necessary LLQ.

Best program for voice on LAN network?

I want to be able to talk to my students quickly when they have a question but iChat takes too long to establish the Voice connections. Is there a better/faster program I can use?

I am not sure there is anything else full stop.
iChat can be somewhat speeded up by setting it to Auto accept.
In iChat Menu > Preferences > Alerts set the top item to Receive Audio Invite
Use the AppleScript Item to Select the Auto Accept (it is a Universal AppleScript that will only use the bit you need)
Obviously this needs to be done on the Student machines but will reduce the number of Clicks and dealing with windows/Invite pop ups for the student.
MSN for Mac does not do Video (unless it is connected to an Windows Server whose name I forget).
Yahoo does not do Audio

Skype Crashes when using video connection

Skype crashes when I attempt to use video.
I can establish a voice connection with my contact, and all works fine if we are not using video. The moment I enable video in the session, Skype crashes. This is repeatable. The other end does not need to use video, just when I enable it at my end.
I have gone into settings and the video seems to be working fine with my iSight built in camera.
I am using OS X Yosemite latest version, and also the latest version of Skype. I downloaded a fresh copy of Skype, and the problem is the same. The camera is the built in iSight camera on my mid-2007 iMac.

The same happens to me. Voice-only calls work just fine, but the moment I try to enable video - Skype 7.0. (653) crashes.
I use iMac7,1 (Mid2007) with Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite. Any help would be appreciated (logs attached). Jacek

7925g have a wireless connection problems

I have a serious problem about 7925G connection via wireless with 1532 outdoor access point. We are using 802.11a for voice connection. While 7925 phones roams to outdoor access point, They cannot even see the SSID. After we checked configuration wireless LAN controller and 1532 model Access point, we saw that, their channel rate is between 100 and 160. We cannot set it to lower value and 7925G model phones can not connect these access points.
What you suggest about this situation?

What IP address does your computer get in system preferences/network? If it is anything other than 10.0.1.x, then it sounds like you set your cables up incorrectly or are joining a different network than your own.
Check the AirPort Menu bar icon at the top of your screen to verify you haven't joined a neighbor's wirelss network. Also,
check to make sure your ISP's ethernet connection is into the WAN port of the base station with the circle symbol, and not the LAN port with the <-> symbol.

Sending DTMF down the line while connected to another mobile

I would like to be able to ring up another mobile.
(My phone can do this ;-)
When i have made the connection to the other mobile load up an application on my phone and then send dtmf tones down the line every 40ms.
I know this can not be done in MIDP1 phones as the KVM is killed when a call is recieved. And i dont think you can start a MIDlet while you are on a call.
So can any of newer phones(MIDP2 with maybe an API) let me do this?
Maybe the a Smart-phone or maybe a phone that will be released soon?
I have not used Symbain yet but you can do a lot more as it is not got Java security features.
Is this impossible on all phones to transmit DTMF down the line when you ring somebody ~( I dont need the phone that has been called to do anything)

As far as I know this wake up feature for a Midlet to do something is possible in MIdp2

Timed out and losing server connections.

Hey
for the past month i have been having problems using Ichat. I seem to be constantly timed out or lose server connections. I'm not very technical so sometimes looking at computer jargon makes my brain fuzzy!
I have changed the port to 443 and its still happening. I have a belkin router and BT is my isp.
It worked fine before (besides having to have a few attempts at voice connections before finally getting there)
It seems to drop connection often and its the whole net usage that is affected, it seems to drop then reboot itself and when logged on to ichat i have to manually sign out and back in again, then i get the message saying i'm connected in more than one location.
Last night it happened roughly 20 times in a three hour period, yet this morning its only happened on a few occasions.
I'm not totally sure what version i am using (like i said i'm a technophobe) all i know is my macbook is a year old. Nobody else uses the internet other than me.
Any help would be great.

In this case a Server is normally something that distributes (Serves) an Internet Connection onwards to several other devices.
A modem can be a cable modem and not specifically serve as such and a router is needed behind that to "serve the LAN" as it were.
More specifically a Router or routing device such as a modem that routes will have a DHCP Server that automatically dishes out IP addresses (numbers) to the computers and other devices attached.
In Most devices the DHCP server can be turned Off but then the Computers have to be set to Static IPs (Manually in the Mac Network Preferences).
It takes very small breaks in service either in the routing device itself or from the ISP for iChat to notice.
Although most people think off Mail and Web Browsing to be Always On they only use the Connection intermittently when you get or send mail or change a web page.
iChat is communicating with the AIM Servers (Or Jabber/GoogleTalk) all the time so that you get a instant update to your Buddy list when people come and go Off line.
