Hi Kavithas,
Make sure you have  “Web Access Enabled”  as per troubleshooting guide. http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps5520/products_tech_note09186a008067cb94.shtml.
If you still face issue, please get us below details to debug further.
1.      CUE Traces (trace voiceview all, trace voiceview-ccn all) for failure call.
2.      Show run output of CME and CUE .
3.      Get us output of http://phone-ip/CGI/Execute
4.      What is the phone model and Did you see issue with all phone models or only with particular model? Make sure           all are running latest firmware.
5.      Are you able to hear Voicemail by TUI properly and issue is only with VoiceViewExpress?.
Thanks,
Nikhil Joshi.

  • SIP8961 press messages button and get "Messages not available"

I can go offhook and dial the voicemail pilot number 6599, but pressing the messages button says "Messages not available” in large pop-up (see attached photo) (debug ccsip messages shows no output either).  I’m not looking for voice view express to work, just to be able to check messages.  Once I fix this is there something under voice register global I need to put for a SIP 8961 for Voice View Express in Unity Express 8.6
If I got to a SCCP 6945 I have no problems checking messages (debug ccsip messages I get output)

  • Few CME questions

    General CME Questions:
    • Can sidecar show when phone is ringing and not just when someone is on a call?
    • Is there a button that would turn on Auto Attendant automatically during the day?
    • When listening to voicemails, is there a “Next” soft-key that can be added to skip through voice mails?
    • For a user that has two lines ringing on their phone, is it possible to put both lines on DND?
    • Can calls be recorded?

    Hello,
    Here are some answers:
    • Is there a button that would turn on Auto Attendant automatically during the day?
There is not softkey to either active or inactive the Auto Attendant,  what you could do is configure night-service and have one call flow when  is inactive      so the calls will not reach the auto Attendant and another  call flow when is active that will send the call to the Auto Attendant
    • When listening to voicemails, is there a “Next” soft-key that can be added to skip through voice mails?
You can try to configure Voice-View Express, I think that you will have the option there

  • How to view which updates were manually imported into WSUS

We need to manually install updates on a workstation that is not joined to our domain (in a workgroup) and match the updates that are normally installed via WSUS.
WSUS has some extra updates added that were downloaded from the Microsoft Catalog site.
How can I see which catalog updates are added to our WSUS server?

In that case, I don't know why I've never had the issue on my gazillions of Win7 deployments, and, this KB is therefore very misleading about Vista & later sysprep behaviour...  :S
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/903262/en-au
Unless the master image had actually been patched with Windows Update or WSUS, the master image would never actually have a SusClientID. That's the reason most organizations avoid this situation.
I do not know why the article claims that sysprep was changed to clear this ID. It still does not do it, as evidenced by the thousands of threads in this forum directly related to this issue over the past seven years (since the release of Vista), most
of which involved just as many Windows 7 systems as they did Windows XP systems.
The 2nd and 3rd paragraph in the symptoms section is still the case:
This issue  occurs if the computer was set up by using a Windows 2000 image, a Windows Server 2003 image, or a Windows XP image in which the registry value for SusClientID is populated before it is deployed to client computers.
When you use Sysprep to generalize an image for a virtual machine, or when you use a unique SID-generating technology to create the images,
the SusClientId registry value is not cleared if it is populated within the image before the image is deployed.
What's also relevant (and disappointing), and may have something to do with the claimed involvement of sysprep, is that the WUAgent v7.0 was supposed to have self-detecting capabilties for duplicated SusClientIDs. See the note in that section about "changes
it's SusClientID if the hardware changes". Sadly, it doesn't work. Also, there's no "hardware change" on virtual machines, so that's a non-starter from the get go. I can count on one hand the number of times I've seen a WindowsUpdate.log where the WUAgent
correctly detected a duplicate SusClientID and spontaneously generated a new one.

  • AD account deleted when checking in Password View/User View

    Hi All,
We have a custom workflow that allows our designated Password Admins to reset IDM passwords for users. What happens occasionally is that this action triggers a deletion of an AD account. It appears that the password is set as expected but the subsequent User View checkin results in the deletion of the AD account.
I have been up and down this trying to reproduce the problem in our test environments: unlinking the account, and then trying the password reset, unassigning the account and then trying the password reset, deleting the AD account on AD and then trying the password reset. I have not been able to reproduce this behaviour.
We are running Oracle Waveset 8.1.1.2.
The workflow only sets the IDM password using the Password View. And it ensures that the Lighthouse account is not locked using the User View. Below is the code snippet.
Has anyone run into this before? What am I missing here?
    All help is much appreciated.

    Hi,
We are seeing a similar issue after the user has changed their AD password the account repeatedly gets locked out when they try to log into Jabber.
We are also using Cisco IM&P and our CUCM is LDAP synced
I am interested to know why you are asking if LDAP authentication is configured?
    Regards,
    Andries

Updates work perfectly when plugged into our network, and while they're on the VPN they have access to all network resources. (mapped drives, etc)
Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I'm afraid this one has me stumped.

A while back we started having trouble with our WSUS server communicating with our laptops over our VPN.
First note here that may significantly assist in your diagnostics... the WSUS Server does NOT communicate with clients.. the *CLIENTS* communicate with the WSUS Server. So, it's not about the pathway from server-to-client, but rather from client-TO-server.
Ergo.. why can the clients not find the WSUS server when connected via VPN?
AU <<## SUBMITTED ## AU: Search for updates [CallId = {414E9C34-F810-46D5-9D6B-01001BCE24FB}]
I have no idea what/where this call to the WUA is coming from, but it's failing with a TIMEOUT error. My assumption, all other things considered, is that this is NOT a call to the assigned WSUS server. At a minimum, it's not a standard WUA detection for
    updates from a WSUS server.
    Checking Connection to WSUS/SUS Server

    Connection to server. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . PASS
    SelfUpdate folder is present. . . . . . . . . . . . . . PASS
Presumably the WSUS server communication is working perfectly, but I'll have to offer that as an assumption ONLY since I don't actually know what the client is talking to since you've masked that critical information from your query. I'm also assuming this
CDT output is from a client actually connected to the VPN.
ALSO: Please do NOT post logfiles in CODE BLOCKS... it makes them impossible to read, and I HATE horizontal scrolling. Just post them as *TEXT*.
For some reason it appears as though (in the log anyway) it's trying to use a proxy. (when it shouldn't)
Are the clients configured to USE a proxy when they shouldn't be? SHOULD they be required to use a proxy on the VPN connection and they're not? I can't tell what OS version the client is, since the logs are not complete enough, but since it's -2014- I'm
going to assume it's a Vista or later client.
What's the output from NETSH WINHTTP SHOW PROXY?

  • Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise Edition 32 bits Service Pack 2 never finishes searching for updates and use 100% of CPU.

Hi everyone, I am having issues updating a clean Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise Edition 32 bits Service Pack 2, so any help with be appreciated cause I've already tried all my cards for the past 5 days in this particular issue without success.
All I did so far is installing Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise with Service Pack 2, open IE to update, it keeps searching for updates and never stop, after 20mn to 30mn the process svchost.exe start using 100% of my CPU.
I already tried the following scenarios:
1-  Install IE8, install the update KB927891 and the Windows Update Agent 3.0 (I already had this one installed). Reboot and run windows update trough IE8 and the problem did not solved.
2- Install those 2 software "MicrosoftFixit.wu.MATSKB.Run" and "MicrosoftFixit50777", open IE to update, it still hangs and continues eating my CPU. This is the output of "MicrosoftFixit".
Windows Update error 0x8007000D(2014-01-06-T-06_06_34A) --> Not Fixed
Cryptographic service components are not registered (This service is actually running successfully) --> Not Fixed
3- I found the following script that would register some DLL, deleting the "SoftwareDistribution" and forcing windows update to solve the problem and nothing happened either.

Herein is the root cause of your issue. A topic that's been discussed in several blogs, forums, and even in the media since September regards a known issue with attempting to patch IE6 RTM via Windows Update.
Aside from that particular issue... browsing the Internet with an unpatched instance of IE6, especially from a Windows Server system, is also asking for a world of hurt.
    Might I suggest the following:
Download the IE8 for Windows Server 2003 installer to a thumb drive.
Download the latest Cumulative Security Update for IE8 for Windows Server 2003 to a thumb drive.
Reinstall Windows Server 2003 with Service Pack 2.
Upgrade to IE8 from the thumb drive installer and apply the
    Cumulative Security Update.
Now your machine is capable of safely browsing to Windows Update to install the rest of the updates (well, maybe, there's also all those other Security Updates from the past seven years that your machine still has vulnerabilites for -- even those seven
years of updates are going to take a Very Long Time to scan for, download, and install).
Why don't you have a WSUS server? -- noting, wryly, that you've posted in the *WSUS* forum.

  • Setup WSUS - Now My External Website Cannot be Accessed via Domain Machines

    Hi all,
I recently set up a WSUS server for my company so I can manage updates to domain computers. I got it working and each domain computer now looks to the server (192.168.0.101) for updates. In addition, I have a DC on this machine as well which has DHCP and
    DNS setup on it too.
After I installed WSUS, Windows set up a IIS server so it could send out updates to computers. Unfortunatly, local domain (prorepmktg.com) computers stopped being able to access our external website (found at http://www.prorepmktg.com) this is hosted by
a 3rd party and is not a part of our network. I assume this is a DNS issue, but since it is also probably connected with WSUS, I need some help being able to allow access to our external website without disrupting any WSUS functions.
I apologize if this issue is simple to fix, but I am stretching my knowledge of DNS and WSUS here. I am running Windows Server 2012 R2.

I have a DC on this machine as well which has DHCP and DNS setup on it too.
    I am running Windows Server 2012 R2.
This is your very first challenge. Have you researched the implications and requirements for installing WSUS on a Windows Server 2012/2012R2 Domain Controller?
Unfortunatly, local domain (prorepmktg.com) computers stopped being able to access our external website (found at http://www.prorepmktg.com)
I'm fairly certain that the mere act of installing WSUS and/or IIS would not have impacted your ability to access external domains.
Does this issue ONLY affect THIS external domain or ALL external domains?
If only THIS external domain, then it also begs the question of what you configured in DNS to allow your internal clients to get to that external domain.
Also relevant is this question: What is the Active Directory Domain Name of your internal domain? I'm much more inclined to think this issue began when you installed/configured DNS, not when you installed WSUS.

  • 6.0.2 exe .vs. 6.1 exe

Greetings ... I have some compiled EXE's (compiled under both 6.0.2
and 6.1) up on a network drive. The 6.1 apps all work: I installed
the 6.1 runtime up on the network drive. However, on a number of PC's
the 6.0.2 apps don't work (their icons are generic, not LV) and give
forth the error messages "Labview error code 10: VI version (6.0) is
too old to convert to the current LV version (6.1)". Or: "Unable to
locate the Labview RunTime engine. XXX requires a version 6.0 (or
    compatible) RunTime Engine."
By the way, 3 PC's that have some NI software on them do run the 6.0.2
    network apps OK.
I accept the limitations. I would be willing to keep the 6.0.2 apps
in a separate network place if I could install the runtime for 6.0.2
    up there as well. (
why not compile all to 6.1 you ask? .. because one
of them won't ... its front panel chokes with a load.cpp error).
My question: what are the files (and subdirs) needed from a 6.0.2
install to 'hand carry' so's to not need an install (and write the
registry) for any machine to use my EXE files? This used to be the
case before 6.1; one needed lvrt.dll and a few others, plus the
    \models and the \Shared stuff.
    Thanks

    G'Day humenik,
I posted this article to the zone a while ago - it describes how to run *simple* exe's without having to install a run-time engine. This should work for different versions, as longs as you have to appropriate files with your exe's. This method definately works with 6.1 exe's.

Now this took us weeks to make.  Notice you have three different types of installers with different command line switches.  there isn't even a set of NI standards.  It took us a long, long time to put this together, trying an install and wiping the PC clean over and over and over until we finally came up with this...
So my question is, are you guys sure it was such a good idea not to use a standard MSI file?  You really need the NI custom installer with non-group-policy-compatible msi's?
If you gave us real msi files this could have been much easier!

    I got 99 problems but 8.6 ain't one.

    Hi Billings11,
To recap, here is Andrew's previous response:
You are correct in pointing out that NI's MSIs do not function as normal MSIs.  We made the decision to create functionality which would extend MSI and allow us to create more robust installers.  Our current installer framework acts as a supervisor over the installation.  It has the ability to mark and match dependencies (more functionality than the MSI reference count) which are important when other NI products are being installed or if any product is uninstalled.  The installer framework also provides a lookup service to all of the MSIs which can provide any installer with specific information about other NI products installed on the machine, paths to those products, etc.  The framework gives the ability for groups within NI to create separate installation parts (MSIs) which can be brought together into one installer without recreating a single distribution MSI from scratch.
Extending functionality outside of normal MSIs also means that installation via a network group policy is no longer supported.
To support deploying through Active Directory, we would need to remove our installer framework instead and ship each piece of software as a single MSI.  The features our framework provides would be eliminated, and much of the burden of tracking dependencies would be pushed onto the customer.  Installation procedures would most likely become more complex, as each MSI would also be relatively blind to the current set of NI products on the machine.
To distribute the NI installers to many machines, our recommendation would be to place the installer on the network, use Active Directory to define the policy, and then distribute the software through Microsoft SMS (or a similar tool) by running the installer in silent mode.  This involves creating a spec file, and then running 1 or more installers silently as part of a batch file.  You had already brought up this point in a previous post:
"You might suggest running batch files as login scripts.  But it takes longer for someone to create and test a batch file silent install than new installation in a real MSI file.  You have to look up all the right switches to run the installation in silent mode with the right options - its a pain.  Its really better in the long run to take the time to recreate NI's installation from scratch so you can have a real windows installer from that point forward."
I completely agree that the process for creating a batch file for the silent installation of NI products should be improved.  We are working hard to create a process in which you can 1) create a spec file simply and quickly and 2) be able to run the installer easily in silent or basic mode.  These improved features should reduce the issues your IT would have with NI software distribution through Microsoft SMS (or equivalent product).
Thanks again for your comments and have a great day!

This error is happening everyday. Please advise for a fix.
If this is happening on an UPSTREAM server it is because you have approved updates that are no longer available from Microsoft. Almost always this involves approvals of *EXPIRED* updates (which have been pulled from the catalog and cannot be downloaded).
If this is happening on a DOWNSTREAM server it's because something/someone deleted the files from the upstream server. It can also happen if the entire upstream ~\WSUSContent folder has gone amuk.
For an upstream server, find the expired updates, remove the approvals, cancel the downloads, and then decline the updates.
For a downstream server, figure out what the affected updates are and fix the upstream server.

  • Can I use the same database for two WSUS servers?

    Hi Folks,
Our HQ WSUS database is on a dedicated SQL Server 2008 in HQ. We are planning to set up a replica WSUS server in a branch office (centralized management mode). But we want to check the WSUS reports (e.g. computer/update status) only from the HQ instead
of each branch. I have two questions.
I should not install the SQL Server in Branch, and specify the HQ SQL Server as the Branch WSUS server database, right? In this case, I can check WSUS reports of both HQ and Branch from HQ, right?
Can I use a specific update source (e.g. Microsoft Update or other WSUS upsteam servers) for Branch WSUS server instead of HQ WSUS server even it's a replica WSUS server?
    Thanks,
    高麻雀

Regarding to "If the branch office server is intended to be a replica server, then it must be configured with the HQ WSUS server as the update source", does it mean my branch WSUS server is only able to get the patches from my HQ WSUS server?
That is the fundamental premise of a downstream replica server.
Isn't it able to get the patches from Microsoft Update or other WSUS servers?
Well, here we may have a terminology challenge... so let me take a step back and answer this way:
A WSUS server obtains *updates* via the process of synchronization. Updates can be synchronized from one of two sources: Microsoft, or an Upstream WSUS Server.
Additionally, updates have a concept of APPROVAL. Approvals can be obtained from an Upstream WSUS Server when the server is configured as a REPLICA server; otherwise, Approvals are created at each individual WSUS server.
Finally, updates have FILES. Files can be obtained from Microsoft or the Upstream WSUS server, and this configuration option is absolutely independent of where the updates and/or approvals come from.
Please note: All of this is exhaustively documented and discussed in the
WSUS Deployment Guide. I would highly recommend reading it cover-to-cover.
In this case, there will a a lot of bandwith cost on the leased line which is only 2Mbps and intended for critical business like VDI/ERP applications.
    A few thoughts here...
First a 2Mb/sec link is more than adequate to support a WSUS server downloading update files from an Upstream WSUS Server.
Second, using BITS you can configure when those files are transferred as well as how much of that 2Mb/sec is made available to the WSUS downstream server.
Third... Patch Management IS a critical business function. Do not let it be treated as a step-child or the VDI/ERP functionally will be irrelevant.
"after installing the replica server in the branch office, on the upstream server enable the option for Reporting Rollup", will the report information (computer/update status) be recorded in the HQ SQL Server?
The detail reporting data for the clients of the downstream replica servers is physically stored in the upstream server's database.

  • WSUS updates not applying to Office 2013 Home and Business OEM version

    Hi
For some reason I cannot get WSUS updates to automatically install on clients running Office 2013 Home and Business OEM version.
    For example
If user opens any of the office 2013 apps e.g. Outlook , word etc, it prompts a message at the top under the ribbon toolbar; UPDATE NOW.
All other updates for OS are downloading and installing just fine from our WSUS server.
    What could this be?
I dont have this issue with clients running office 2003

First thing you need to do is be absolutely certain which edition of Office you have installed.
There are five editions of "Office 365" and these days, almost anything that is "OEM" is almost certainly Office 365:
    Office 365 Home
    Office 365 Personal
    Office 365 Small Business
    Office 365 Small Business Premium
    Office 365 Midsize Business
Office 365 ships with an activation code for an online management account, and authorizes the installation of the software on up to five devices. Office 365 is updated via the WEB .. ONLY.
In addition there are three editions of Office 2013:
    Office Home & Student
    Office Home & Business
    Office Professional
If you have one of these three editions, you should also have a DVD and a Product Activation Code for the SINGLE-PC installation which is licensed for these editions provided by the vendor of your computers. Office 2013 can be updated using WSUS.
Since you're getting a prompt IN THE APPLICATION to "Update Now", I believe you're looking at instances of Office 365, not Office 2013. Office 2013 (desktop) does not provide in-product prompts for updates/upgrades.
