Voicemail Extended Ansence Greeting

Somehow my voicemail has been changed to use an extended absence greeting or basically a greeting by verizon that tells callers I am unavailble. I had a regular voicemail set up but now no one can leave me a message. I've called my cell phone using other phones and it is always the same message with no option of leaving a message. I went to my voicemail account to try and change it and it asks me to change my greeting to either name, standard message with my number or a personlized greeting. I use the one with just my name. I call again, no change! Customer service was un helpful as I could not understand the person and had to keep asking them to repeat themselves. I am just so frustrated! Can anyone help?

  • Issue with Custom Voicemail Greeting

I change my voicemail's custom greeting everyday to reflect the day and date, however I've recently noticed (maybe since 2.0.1 update) that when I press the record button it doesn't respond and I have to "reboot" my iPhone to record a new greeting.
I never had a problem with version 1 of the iPhone in this regards and I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the two last updates. I heard that the visual voicemail works via EDGE, so I turned off 3G and the WiFi connection to no avail.
    Has anyone else experienced this?
    Thanks

  • Trying to setup voice greeting

I have been trying to setup a greeting message on the original IPhone. According to the directions I should hit the voicemail icon. When I do nothing happens.
Is there another way to set voice mail up or am I doing it wrong..
    Thanks

Go the Phone portion of your iPhone, and dial your phone number. Press 4, then press 3. Then choose from the following:
    1 - Personal greeting
    2 - Extended absence greeting
    3 - Recorded name
    Then follow the prompts.

  • How to stop "You currently have extended abs. grtng, etc." auto. message from voice mail.

Does anyone know if there's a way to not have to "press 1" to keep "extended absence greeting"?  Or.....
is there a way to leave more than just one's name in an outgoing voicemail (in other words, make it like an "extended absence" greeting" without actually doing the "extended abs. grtng." which, as mentioned above, means "pressing 1" to keep it every time I check my messages.

    Hi, Ed -
    Things to check -
    • In the Date & Time control panel, 'Use a Network Time Server' option.
    • In the Software Update control panel for any automatic setting.
    • In the QuickTime Settings control panel, on the Update Check page (accessed via the pulldown menu in the control panel).
    • In the Startup Items folder in System Folder for any kind of registration or similar alias.
    • Third-party software which may have an auto check for updates feature, such as Symantec's Live Update utility.
The most common culprit is the Date & Time control panel.

how do I change my voice mail recording on my 4S iphone

On the voicemail screen, click Greeting at the top left and record a new one. Your carrier will also have a special number you can call from the phone (usually includes a hash or star) to get to and change voicemail options.

  • Voice mail fax option?

I have the visual vm that allows someone to send a fax but now that I have it how do you read it?

This was an option that they wanted to offer on their business accounts but could never get it to work so they just dropped it!!
Now the question is WHY does it give my callers the option to SEND ME A FAX THAT I CAN'T READ??????? And Verizon doesn't SUPPORT???
Wow - even without the visual voicemail, your "automatic" greeting  from Verizon says - "to send a fax, press 4", which you can remove from your greeting options (but most people don't) and the capability is not there at all?  This really needs to be fixed... !

    Greeting,
I want to reformat my external hard drive using Mac OS Extended (Journaled, Encrypted ) but before formatting it, I want to make sure that if I loose the hard drive or the hard drive get stolen, no one will be able to retrieve or recover the information on it so could you tell me what kind of encryption will be used or is there any way to recover the information?
    Thanks!

I think FileVault is used to encryp internal hard drive but I wanna encrypt an external hard drive with Mac OS Extended Journaled Encrypted which is completely different!

  • On iPhone 5s, since updating to 8.02, when accessing the phone's voicemail greeting section, the greeting, voicemail and dial pad freezes up. Requires restart of device to regain access to phone app. Greeting section can not be accessed.

    Hello -
I've never had any issues at all with my iPhone 5s. After I ran the IOS 8.02 update, everything seemed fine. Yesterday afternoon (about 8 hours after the update), I went to update my voicemail greeting. So I can open the phone app just fine, use the phone with calls, listen to voicemails, etc., but as soon as I tap the GREETING within the voicemail section, everything in the phone app freezes up. Shutting down and restarting the app does not help. I have to restart the entire iPhone to regain access to the phone app. Interestingly, I can receive a call during this 'freeze' by tapping the ANSWER button during the incoming call. Just can not make outgoing calls, listen to voicemails, etc.
During this freeze, a message occasionally appears stating that the greeting server can not be reached.
    Beyond that, no ideas.
    Any thoughts?
    Thank you.

I am having this issue too.  Have you happened to find a solution?
I can transfer them via airdrop to the computer, but that takes a heck of a long time.

  • HT201436 Can't retrieve voicemail.  Phone takes me to greeting screen, but when I select default or record a  custom greeting, the save it, phone screen continues to show "saving greeting" I cannot get to the screen to check voicemail

I think phone is 4s but might be a 4. Can't retrieve voicemail.  I've had the phone for months and have used voicemail. Now when I select voicemail the phone takes me to a page to set up greeting (custom or default) and when I select either one and then try to save it ( thinking maybe then I can get to my messages) the screen just keeps showing "saving greeting"
    Thanks

Safe Mode (booting while holding down Shift key) should have disabled all the Login items, as well as any non-Apple startup items, including the launchd items.
I'm out of "Easy" ideas, and anything I say after this, is just wild ideas, so feel free to ignore me.
Have you tried different USB cables?  Maybe there is an issue with the USB connector, or the way you have to bend things to access your Mac mini USB ports is different from accessing your Wife's Mac mini USB ports?
Try alternate USB ports.  Maybe there is a bad/marginal port/connector.
Try removing all your existing USB devices.  If you are using a USB keyboard and/or mouse, try using a different USB keyboard and/or mouse (maybe borrow them from your Wife's Mac mini).  Basically remove all other USB devices and replace the essential keyboard and mouse with known good ones).
Desperate measure (Backup first before proceeding down this path).  Using a Firewire cable, boot your Wife's Mac mini into Firewire Target Mode.  Connect a Firewire cable between your Mac mini and your Wife's while your Wife's is in Target Mode.  Now boot your Mac mini holding down the "Option" key, and select your Wife's Mac mini's disk to boot from.   Essentially you will be using your hardware and your Wife's software to see if you have a hardware issue, or if it is a software issue.  That is to say if it works with your Mac mini booted from your Wife's boot disk, then your hardware is fine, but there is something wrong with your software.  If it does not work, then it is your hardware.
Hopefully, you Wife will not kill you for even mentioning this.  ALSO, if you do try this, BACKUP, BACKUP, BACKUP first, especailly her system.  Not that anything will go wrong, but if it does, the last thing you want is an annoyed Wife :-)  BACKUP!

  • How can I set up a default (pre-recorded) voicemail greeting on iphone 4s?

How can I set up a default (pre-recorded) voicemail greeting on iphone 4s?i dont want a custom one with my voice i want the pre-recorded where a lady says my number . how do i get that?

Voicemail is a cell phone carrier function.  Contact your carrier to see if they have this option.  If not, i'm sure you can download a sound file from the internet with a greeting and add your name.  Then play it back on you PC while holding your iPhone near the speaker when recording the greeting to voicemail.

  • How can I select the default greeting for a voicemail for the iPhone 4s?

I am wanting to set up the voicemail feature for my iPhone 4s. (I have had this phone for years but never enacted a voicemail!) However, I am having trouble. When I click on the phone settings in my phone, the only options I have in regards to voicemail is to set up or change the password. I am not given the option to set up a voicemail. Whenever I try to set up the voicemail by dialing *86, I am given only the options of changing my password or to set up a custom greeting. I am not able to select the default/standard greeting as it is not mentioned. I am wondering how I can go about this. I am not sure why I don't have the options already available in my phone automatically or why it is not provided as an option when I call to set it up.
    Any help with this?
    Thank you!!

nnd217, Help is here! The 4S is a great device, sorry to learn that you are having trouble with setting up the VM default greeting. I should be able to shed some light on this situation. If you go to your phone icon, as if you were making a call, you should see the voicemail icon down at the bottom right. Once you select that, in the upper left corner there is an option that says Greeting, so ahead and select that. From there you have two choices, default and Customer. If you select default there will be a check mark in that box, then hit save. You should now have your default greeting in place. If you do not have that or continue to have issues with it, please let me know! • Voicemail not allowing Standard Greeting to be used

Trying to set the voicemail greeting on a Cosmos Touch to the Standard Greeting that reads your number instead of using your recorded name, after following the prompts and picking Standard Greeting, it says 'a standard geeting will be used'.  But, when I dial my number from another phone to check, it uses the same ol' greeting as before, the one that plays the recorded name.  It won't use the standard greeting...What's wrong?!  How do I change it?
    Thanks

I tried again, this time from the cell (first time was from landline).  Same thing, No change.  What I noteced was after going thru 4, 3, 1 to get to Personal Greeting, it says press 1 for 'standard greeting which will tell callers you are unavailable' rather than 'standard greeting with phone number'.  Both landline and cell say that.
In any case, it won't let me set/use the standard greeting that reads my number.  What's wrong?

  • Change voicemail greeting wav file name

I know nothing about unity and was wondering the following:
We have a user that set up her voicemail greeting on a phone that had someone elses name, the greeting file has the previous person's name, but the new persons message.
Is it possible to keep the greeting, rename it and use if for the new person, or does it have to be redone?
Also, how do I determine if someone has any voicemail messages that can be saved?

Just look at the subscriber greeting and download the file via the media bar, if you need to use it for other subscriber using the media bar you can upload the file.

  • How do you change the Greeting in Voicemail on a 5s

I cannot seem to work out how to change the Greeting in Voicemail. Any suugestions ?

The greeting is set with your carrier, not with Apple.
If you open your phone app and tap the voice mail tab on the bottom.  When you contact your voicemail, greeting,
one of the options will be to change your voicemail message.
