Voicemail for Online Number

Hi, I'm trying to find out how I set the number of rings at which an incoming call to my online number will be sent to voicemail. Presently, the line will ring 20 or 30 times before the voicemail picks up, I want to shorten that to something like 3 or 4 rings. Thanks for your help, Paul

If these two Online Numbers are on the same Skype account, no - you would not have separate voicemails for each. The voicemail on your Skype account would be the same, whether the calls came in on either Online Number or directly to your Skype account name from another Skype user.
If you need to have separate voicemails for each Online Number, you can set up separate Skype accounts for each Online Number. This means that you would need to purchase Skype Credit or subscriptions for each account if you used Call Forwarding, as these two accounts would be unable to share Skype Credit or subscriptions.

Discount for online number available?

Hello,
I am thinking about purchasing a Skype online number for my UK business.
At the moment, it says on Skypes website that there is a 50% discount for existing subscribers. I think this does not apply to me because this would be my first online number.
But I remember that there was some offer a while ago where you were able to receive credit towards your other subscriptions when buying an online number.
Can anybody please help and tell me what is the best and cheapest way to get the online number or if there are any promotions or discounts currently available , hidden on Skype's website??

Hi Kevin,
You are not charged for calls when you recieve on skype from an 'online' number.
skype calls may be recieved to your computer, laptops, any other device that you can download 'skype'.

Yes.
Skype call charges depend only on the country you are calling TO. The geographic origin of the call is irrelevant.
To call both landlines and cellphones to (and within) the United States from anywhere costs 2.3 cents per minute or part thereof.

I paid for the online number twice and is trying to charge me again for it... I should have reactivated it already. What's going on??

Country of Residence for Online Number

Hi everyone. This is my first time on the Skype Support Network.
I had a question about the Skype numbers, I've tried googling this but with not much luck so apologies if this has been covered already.
Do you have to be a resident of the country in which the number is for? I know that there is a list of countries which require you to provide proof of residence, but what about the ones that don't? Just because you don't have to provide proof, is it still expected that you can't have a number for a country you don't reside in?

There are only a few countries that have a local residency requirement. For some numbers like those in Germany, a verification is done before the number is issued. For others, there may be no verification done, but not having residency could be used as the reason to cancel an Online Number at a later time. In that latter case, you would not have any recourse through Skype to keep your number, since non-residency would be cited as a breach of the agreement for the number.
I have Online Numbers in 4 countries (USA, Mexico, UK, Australia). There aren't any residency requirements for numbers from these countries. There is an additional set of terms for the Mexican numbers I had to agree to (mainly centered on not using the Mexican number for Caller ID), and the numbers from the other 3 countries were covered by Skype's standard legal statements related to Online Numbers.

Privacy settings for Online Number

Hello,
I'm trying to change the privacy settings in my account from Only Skype Contacts to Anybody so I will be able to receive calls to my Skype Online number from friends and family.
Everytime I do it after a few minutes it goes back to Only Skype Contacts on its own....
How can I make this change permanent so I can get calls from Anybody to my Online number.

Sad that this has yet to be a) answered and b) implemented - this would make things a lot easier for myself also, yet Microsoft fails to implement what potentially could be an easy solution and generate additional revenue streams.

Online number for older relative - best option?

My husband is in Kuwait for 12 months. His mom is in Illinois and is almost 80. She doesn't have a computer/web/cell but does have a landline phone. My husband wants to be able to call her when off duty (he already can call me and the kids on cell or computer). Looking at everything I think our best (and only) option is to buy His mom a skype phone number. My husband calls that number (free since skype to skype) and it would ring on her home number (right??)
is this the best option? She wouldn't be using it to call out, just for him to call her.
I went to buy a number Online - and I wasn't sure how it worked. looked like it might just give ME (since I signed in) the number. Do I have to create an account for His mom and then buy the skype number for her?

I am going to guess you were diverted here to the Community in your attempt to contact Skype Customer Service directly to report this problem, which ultimately must happen so Skype can check the number and run diagnostics.
Skype is aware of existing problems with the website when contacting their customer service agents. If you experience difficulty contacting Skype Customer Service or find yourself again redirected back to the Community, please try again using a different web browser and - important! - choosing a different path through the various drop-down menu options presented. Also, look to approve a pop-up dialogue box which would connect you to start an instant message chat with a customer service agent. If you have pop-ups blocked in your browser settings, this will also block reaching an agent.
All that said, it may take several attempts before you reach an agent, however people are getting through.

Online number does not forward or go to voicemail

I have an online number which is forwarded to an Australian Mobile. It also set up to go to voicemail if not answered. Neither of these functions work as it just rings out when dialed. Where is it ringing? How do I get the features to work? Why am I paying for something that does not work? Will I get a refund for time elapsed to date?

Do you happen to have Airplane mode enabled?
