Voicemail Issues after phone number change
I recently changed my phone number. I programmed the phone per the directions provided and I had to manually go in and update the speed dial for #1 so it would dial my new number. The issue is, if I receive a voicemail, I get the "Listen" link on the screen. If I click that link, it still dials my old number. I have looked through the owner's manual and through the online info on the site but have not found any way to fix this issue.
Can anyone help me figure this out??!?!!?

I have unlocked iphone and got walmart family mobile. I was issued a phone number initially then asked for a different one. Now when I send text messages, they show up the original number, but when I make phone calls, the id shows up the new number, I can recieve text messages to both numbers. If you try to call the first number it says it is not a working number. On my phone, if I go under "about" it says "my phone number" and it says the second number, under settings, and messaging, it says that I send and recieve messages from the original one. T-mobile, has no idea why this is happening and has tried everything to fix it
This is for iMessages only, not for text messages as in SMS/MMS.
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > Apple ID.
Select your Apple ID and at the menu window that appears, select Sign Out.
Turn iMessage off at Settings > Messages > iMessage.
Then follow these instructions.
You can remove an iPhone from your support profile by following these steps.
Step 1: Click on this link to open the login window of your support profile.
Step 2: Log into the website using your Apple ID – same as your iTunes login.
Step 3: Click on the button ‘Edit products’ and select the iPhone that you want to remove from the list.
Step 4: Click on the arrow behind the product, and then click on the button ‘Unregister’ to delete the iPhone from your support profile.
After you unregister your iPhone, on your iPhone go to Settings > Messages > iMessage and turn iMessage on.
Go to Settings < Messages > Send & Receive > Apple ID. Sign back in with your Apple ID.
This should re-register your iPhone with your Apple ID with iMessage with the new phone number only. -
Environment: Lync 2013 backend; Lync 2010 and Lync 2013 clients. Enterprise Voice not implemented. November 2013 CU Applied on Server.
Issue: Lync user (User A) phone number changed in AD but still showing old number for others days later.
Believed Cause: User A has not logged into Lync since change to republish new phone number?
So after reading this http://masteringlync.com/ I am beginning to think that something I perceived as an issue may actually be by design?
Action:
User A work phone number changed in AD. User A has only one phone entry in AD. Normalization rule in place to basically leave number unchanged (working)
Result:
New phone number propogated fine to Exchange/Outlook fine. Old number displaying only in Lync client when viewing User A contact card detail
Lync 2010 Client displays only old number when looking at Client A contact detail (this client only presents phone numbers if they are actually normalized)
Lync 2013 Client displays two work numbers.
One that we identify as a "display number" just as entered in AD - this shows correctly as the new number. Another that we identify as the "normalized number" which is still the old
number (same as 2010 Client)
Same results whether contact is saved in Lync Client or not and is not related to Outlook contacts - in fact one test was with a Lync account that is not Mail Enabled.
I did a dbanalyze to view the SQL database detail for User A and see that Category 'userInformation' has the old phone number and the time stamp on it seems to coincide with a Lync Cllient database change (user login or refresh on that end) so this seems
to futher confirm my findings thus my reaching the point of conceding it might be out of my control.
My Question I guess is ....
Have others discovered this? Is this a bug or do normalized phone numbers actually requre a client login to accept/republish the number correctly to others even though the information is updated in AD? User detail and how it propogates seems to
be the biggest mystery and it gets harder and harder to explain to users why changes aren't displaying accuralely. Thanks Richard... your blog definitely hit home with what I was seeing but guess I just didn't want to accept that as the end of the road on this. I'm still in a little misbelief that client interaction is necessary to update a backend change.
This process really makes phone numbers in Lync an unreliable source given a user will never know if it is it up to date. And the problem with Lync 2013 client is it shows both numbers in the client ... the address book one with the
updated AD numbers and the one the normalized AD one that the user has to login to republish. I now more fully understand the process but trying to explain that to users when they see different work numbers .. ugh.
Oh well, guess the important part is to understand the process so thanks again. -
Phone number changed, but old number still shows in iTunes and in contacts within Phone app
My phone number changed, but when my phone is plugged into iTunes, it is still showing my old phone number in the iPhone information box. Also, when you are in contacts from within the Phone app. and you you pull down the list of contacts so it reveals the space above the search field, it says "My Number: (old number)" instead of "My Number: (new number)". I have synced my phone with iTunes since the change and my new number has been updated in my name record in the Contacts app. but the old number is still persisting in the aforementioned places. How do I get iTunes an the space above the search field in the contacts section of the Phone app to display my new number?
Tank you from me too. I have been trying to sort this problem out for a few weeks and getting somewhat annoyed! It's so easy when you know! Thanks again

ESS Family Screen - Issue validating Phone Number
I am having a problem with the Family contact screen and the validation on the phone number field. I am not the original developer that worked on this screen and do not have access to that person, but I think this issue is caused by SAP delivered code, and not anything we did here.
If I enter a phone number that has more than 7 digits (ex. 12345678), but I do not include a dash in the number, I correctly get an error that says , "Telephone number must consist of seven digits"
If I include a dash in the number (ex. 123-45678), that validation does not detect the error and I am allowed to proceed to the review screen, where the phone number is displayed exactly as I typed it in, but when it gets saved, the extra digits are truncated.
I'm willing to code my own validations on this field, but I don't know where to put the code. Can anyone please help?Could you please mention ESS BP version that is been used? If it is, you can search for Note in SMP, if not found, raise one. This could be an issue with standard SAP code. However, as you mentioned the application been changed, review the changes been made as well.

What is a "star" after phone number in a contact
Using iPhone 4S with IOS 5.1. On some contacts there is a "*" ("star") after one of the phone numbers. What is the meaning? Have not found any explanation in the User's Guide for IOS 5.1.
The star indicates the number is associated with a "favorite" phone number. Favorites can be seen at the bottom left of the Phone app. It makes for quicker dialing versus looking through the entire contact list.

My wife hes made a big mistake in changing to BT from southern electric talk after 25 years of the same number and both our businesses run from home our number has been changed.she was not told about this but we did find an email sent 2 weeks ago of our new number at the bottom of the email.been on hold for 3 hours then we had to go to bed!southern electric always took approx 5 mins oh dear we are both worried sick perhaps its not too late to transfer back to our old provider and get our number back we dont care about penalties!
Hi guru Well thats what we hope but guess what?when i rang my mobile this morning another completely different number came up!! So lets stop work again and wait on hold(we are getting the hang of it now and dont need to look up the numbers).......eventually we get through but the lady kept interrupting my wife asked if she could listen first and then she could answer and then we got on a lot better she put us through to another lady who did the same and would not let my wife explain, she then questioned her attitude and if she could put us on to somebody who did not have an attitude,at this point the lady calmed down(she kept trying to blame our previous provider and didnt like it when we said that they had always been excellent)and then she listened which was better for both parties.she didnt apologise but did say BT had made a mistake and although she was still unfriendly we didnt care as long as we got our number back we have another email to confirm this change but we had a similar email yesterday oh and our BT infinity is not working properly but we cant face sorting this problem out first one step at a time.i have dealt with BT InThe past but never had this sort of problem before can anyone explain what has happened as soon as we get our original number back we are switching straight back to southern electric talk they have always been easy to get hold of and resolved any problems efficiently and politely.we thought it would be easier to tie the broadband and phone in together ....how wrong we were! Anyway fingers crossed lets just close our two businesses for another day who cares BT dont!

Imessages won't deliver after cell number change
My husband and I recently changed our cell phone numbers, and now imessages won't deliver between us. We both have iphone 4, ios5.1, and we had no issues at all until we changed numbers. We share an apple id, so I've already deleted the id from my phone under Settings/messages/receive at so that it only shows my cell number. But I still cannot send an imessage to him. I can send imessages to other friends with iphones, but not his for some reason. any ideas??
I'm having a similar issue with my iPhone 5. A friend of mine is using his iPod to text me and using his email address and my phone was fine three hours ago (at 3:00pm central time), but now it won't send any of my iMessages... I've signed out of my Apple ID and made sure Facetime was enabled... and it won't send!

Why did my phone number change?
When I use my skype phone to call my cell phone, the number has changed to one with a different area code and number. What's going on?

If you didn't change your Online Number, you may want to check your Caller ID settings to confirm your number is being used for that. Click on the Account link in the upper-right corner, log in, and you should see your Caller ID settings. Caller ID is not automatically enabled, even if you have a Skype Online Number. Also, numbers from some countries cannot be used as Caller ID when calling telephones from your Skype account (Australia and Mexico are two that I personally know can't be used).

SLD: Duplicate Technical System after Installation Number change
We changed the installation number for a system. After this, inside SLD there are 2 entries for this system, with 2 different installation number (new and old). What is the correct procedure to remove one of the entry (old one).
Please advise.
A proper SAP note would be appreciated.
ThanksIts ok even if you have forgotten to register to the SLD during installation. We can regaister after installation.Since SLD runs on java engine then if you go to http://<ipaddress or hostname of the server>:5<instancenumber>00/sld

Difference between technical systems and business systems is that business systems are used in PI/XI.Whereas technical systems are nothing but your ECC , CRM etc.You have to use business systems only when there is a case for connecting to XI/PI.Hope i have answered your quesries if not please let me know. -
I changed the ip address on both the servers of a cluster running version 3.2, and everything seems to be working fine, except for the fact that a virtual nic is automatically created with one of the old IP's, the weirdest thing is that server 2 is the one creating the virtual nic with the old ip for server one, I double checked the configuration and nothing seems wrong to me, what could I be missing?
The old ifconfig output for server 2 was:

The ip address on interface e1000g0:2 used to be on server 1, even if i do an unplumb it gets created again. Thanks for the reply, the netmasks file was modified when I did the IP change, this my actual file on both servers:
# The netmasks file associates Internet Protocol (IP) address
# masks with IP network numbers.
# network-number netmask
# The term network-number refers to a number obtained from the Internet Network
# Information Center.
# Both the network-number and the netmasks are specified in
# "decimal dot" notation, e.g:
# 128.32.0.0 255.255.255.0
10.212.75.0 255.255.255.192
Any other suggestions?

I want to change my area code but keep my prefix and number. Is that possible?
tigereyes1,
That is a great question. I can understand wanting to keep the prefix and number consistent. We can not guarantee that it would be available, but we can certainly do a search and try! You can call our customer service deparement at; 800-922-0204. Also, if you'd like us to check here you can accept my follow request, follow back, and send a PM.
