Voicemail messages gone after OSI 5

I can't find old voicemail messages that were saved on my iphone after upgrading to OSI5.

Did you find a fix for this? My wife's phone has the same issue.

The day before yesterday, when i was listening to music using my N97 phone. It run out of
battery and it automatically turned off. After i came home, i charge it using my power
cable and turned it while it was charging. Then i leaved it alone until few hours later
it was fully charged and i found a message received from my friend. When i opened it, i
found all my messages are gone. including those in INBOX, OUTBOX and old messages in "My
Folder". I also checked the phone memory and only 1K of data left as messages.
How could that be happening?
After that I tried to synchronize the messages back from my old phone, N73, since most of
the old messages are transfered from it. I used the same way as I did last time when I
transfered the messages, contacts and calendar entries, which is, go to N73 Menu -> Tools
-> Transfer -> Phones -> My N97, Options -> Edit, choose Sync data as Text Messages. then
back and Options -> Synchronise. After a while, it shows that 1000+ messages are
retrieved to the N73 phone( which is weird because it should send the messages instead of
retrieving). Then when i check out messages on both phone and found out that 2 messages
are transfered to the N97 INBOX which are the last messages in the INBOX and 2 messages
are transfered to the N97 Outbox which are the last messages in the OUTBOX too. But the
rest are not transfered. Then I check out my N73. and found out that most of my messages
are gone except less than 5 text message, few MMS and some Bluetooth files(which should
not exist in the OUTBOX because I usually delete it after successful transfer the files)
exist.
This is also ridiculous because I did the same action for synchronizing phones before
with exactly same setting and that one working fine. But this one most are missing. Even
if I did some setting wrong, I should lose all the messages instead of most but few left.
And most weird part is that some files that did not exist in my OUTBOX before exist in it
now.
Can anyone tell me how to recover those lost messages? Or give any explanation about
this? THANKS!!!!

OK, here are more specific instructions:
1. Open Finder (double-click the Finder icon in the Dock).
2. On the left side of the resulting Finder window click on Applications.
3. Double-click on "Image Capture".
4. Follow the instructions above.

Are messages gone after not restoring with iCloud?

Because of a bad backup with iCloud my CameraRoll did not work correctly. So i decided to restore my iphone through itunes, but not restore with Icloud untill after I got into the iphone. I saw then when i synced with icloud again the messages did not sync.... does that mean the messages are gone forever?

If the device was backed up prior to the update (it should have been as this is part of the update process) simply restore from the backup. Otherwise they are gone.
Why do you choose to not backup the device regularly? The same "loss of data" would occur should the device fail, be lost, or stolen.

I just purchased the new ipad. I set up my email and put show 1000 messages. After a few days my email in my inbox disappears. I have gone thought all the settings. Please help.

Deleted messages are gone after 2 weeks!

After I delete my message, it goes to the trash. I have changed the preference to go to the new folder and not automatically delete the messages after 30 days, but they are not working. My messages are gone after 2 weeks and not in any folder. Please help!

Welcome to the Apple community.
Have you checked the settings and preferences on all your devices that sync your mail, if your mail is set to be removed after two weeks on any device, then that action will be synced across all of them.

Turns out those error messages it gave me were because it didn't sync properly and create a backup. Which is why when I restored from backup it didn't reload my old info. Instead of assuring me that I would have the option to restore my info, it would have been nice had it told me that a backup hadn't been completed and that restoring my phone without it would leave me with nothing.
Tech support had me use my old SIM card to import my old contacts. This worked, but I've entered contacts since getting the new phone that aren't on my old SIM. And doing so left me with a bunch of re-organizing to do (deleting, combining, entering First and Last name fields...) it took me several hours.
I didn't get my appointments back, cause my old phone was just a phone, and that info wasn't on the old SIM, but I'm REALLY glad I got my contacts.

Messages dissappear after one day in trash when set never to erase

When deleting messages to Trash, these messages are gone after 1-day. I have checked the setting to never delete Trash, yet they are gone. Why?

Some voicemail messages will not play on my iphone 4S - any ideas how to solve this?

People have posted a number of issues recently with HP printers and the TC.
Do the normal stuff.
1. Wireless name in the TC by default is not SMB compatible.. make it short no spaces pure alphanumeric.
2. Lock the channel.. the TC on auto can go crazy.. fix it to 1, 6, or 11 in turn.
3. Test without security.. if it will not join without security.. you can be pretty sure it never will join with.
4. If you get nowhere.. highly probable.. lock the wireless mode to a/n - b/g
This is reducing 2.4ghz to G compatibility. Much more likely to work than N.
If after all this you have started having ticks in your cheeks and approaching nevous breakdown levels.. give up.. the TC is not 100% compatible with the windows world.. and ALL HP belong to the windows world.
The solution is simple.. a cheap wireless router.. not apple.. your average garden day, netgear, dlink, even a belkin.. although that is the bottom of the barrel.. in wan bypass. ie fix the IP to same range as the TC.. turn off dhpc.. and plug LAN TC to LAN wireless router. Setup the wireless on this.. fixed channel.. G wireless will be fine.. suitable network name and security.. The HP printer will then be available to the network.. and you didn't even have to slit your wrists.

Since I updated to iOS5 software, my old voicemail messages have been deleted. Also, I finally set up a voicemail password so I could retrieve my new voicemails. That's when I found out the older (prior to Oct.) messages were deleted. Thanks.

Since I updated my iPhone 3gs to iOS5 software, my old voicemail messages are gone. Also, I had to set up a voicemail password so I could retrieve my new voicemails. That's when I fould out the older (prior to Oct.) messages were missing. AT&T could not help me and I have read everything I can on both AT&T and Apple websites to try to figure this out. haha, so now i'm thinking. I'm learning the terminal as fast as i can but there are several lines of codes and commands in there that throws up red flags to me that i don't fully understand. It just looks fishy too me. It would be highly appreciated if someone could just check this out just to tell me that i don't need to worry about it. Or point me in the right direction. I just feel un easy about this. ha.

on the iphone 4s, i cant get my voicemail messages to play, i can see them but when i select them they will not play, i recently set up my voicemail and was able to listen to a few in the last couple of weeks but after i got new ones they won't play. i have never had to resign in again after setting up my voicemail, anything to do with that?

It is when I try open a website that I am busy building on my Wamp Server, then the Flash header doesn't open but instead tells me that I need Adobe Flash Player. When I install the latest version I go into my Firefox Add-ons> Extension, it is is flagged and tells me that it is not compatible with this version of Firefox.
On the other hand in the Add-ons > Plug ins, it shows Shockwave Flash 10.1.r85 as installed, but my Flash header still doesn't play.

I also experienced loss of important archived voicemails on my Iphone on two occasions within the last 12 mos:
1. after upgrading my Iphone 4S to an Iphone 5 using Itunes backup and then erasing my Iphone 4s. I lost all my voicemails older than 90 days (ATT is my carrier). I was able to recover the old voicemails by restoring my Iphone 4s from my Itunes backup and holding onto that device for reference.
2. again, six mos later after restoring a new Iphone 5 using a recent ITunes backup after water damage to my first Iphone 5. Nobody in my local Apple store or on Apple phone support, including a "senior techniciaan" had any useful knowledge to assist me with this frustrating issue. Ultimately, I spent many hours researching this myself. Apparently, there is a bug in the Iphone 5 OS when restoring from ITunes. I don't know if this problem also occurs after restoring from an ICloud backup. However, I found that Iphone voicemails are available for a limited period 30-90 days through your phone carrier ie. ATT, Verizon, etc but more importantly, ALL voicemails are archived on an ITUNES backup regardless of age assuming you didn't delete them off your IPhone before last backing up your device. So, if you lost or damaged your IPhone but have an ITunes backup, all you need is an ITunes extractor, unfortunately not available through APPLE. Apple reps are not authorized to discuss non-apple issued software even if they're aware. There are several ITunes extractors available for music, photos, SMS files etc but most don't also have the capability of opening the embedded voicemails. Happily, using this software, I successfully extracted from my ITunes backup file ALL my voicemails old and current, using www.backuptrans.com/itunes-backup-extractor.html (Mac and Windows versions available). A life-saver!

Ahhh Renamed Mailbox and all Sent Messages GONE!

I have years of sent messages I need to get back to now suddenly gone after I renamed my mailbox in Accounts. I NEED them back, and can't find them anywhere on my computer, or through my webmail. All I wanted to do was rename it a little to make selecting the right mailbox a little easier, I had no idea this would happen (and it shouldn't). HELP!

Alright, false alarm, kind of. It turns out for some reason all of my sent messages randomly went to another sent account, go figure. They are all there, I just had to manually move them back (thank god for rules!) Can you just make this work like it should Apple?
However, I am still seeing something which is kind of weird. Hundreds of my messages from several different accounts are reading sent dates before the accounts were even open. Why is this happening? Thanks.

Thoughts on using iTunes to identify voicemail messages?

iTunes is designated as the default player for MP3 files on my PC, where each of my business line voicemail messages arrives as an attachment to an email. As a result, whenever I click on such an attachment to listen to it, iTunes "sees" that voicemail messages and lists it in My Music," where it is identified only by the cryptic filename assigned to that MP3 file by the voicemail system's numerical naming convention. For example, one such voicemail has a filename of "77124.mp3", which shows up in "My Music" as "77124".
I really needed a way to organize, find, and easily retrieve these voicemail messages anyway, so I'm considering using iTunes to help with this. I'm thinking I could download a copy of each voicemail attachment after I've listened to it, then use iTunes' existing fields to identify the message as follows:
song name = actual file name (already populated)
artist = Name of caller
album = date of call (yyyymmdd format)
composer = Name of business matter (could be company name)
genre = 1voicemail (I created this genre to makes it easier to get to this choice)
Any thoughts about problems I might run into by pursuing this?
Any thoughts about different field assignments I might consider that could provide better sorting options?

iTunes recognizes Voice Memos as a separate file type. If yours arrive as simple MP3 files you can change that in iTunes.
Select one or more of these files, right-click, then select Get Info. Select the Options tab, then click on the Media Kind pull down menu and select Voice Memo. The advantage of this is that now you can create a Smart Playlist based on this file format.
How you use the various tags is entirely up to you. There are many more fields than the once you listed. I would suggest using fields that are not normally used for Music or Videos, just to keep them separate.

How do I unblock a voicemail message?

I blocked a voicemail message that I later found out to be legitimate. I added the number to my contact list, and the contact is shown as unblocked but the original voicemail message is still shown as blocked. Will the contact the able to send me voicemails in the future? It would not be appropriate to ask for a test run as it is an infrequent business relationship.

Go to Settings > Phone > Blocked and make sure the number is not in that list.
I've never tried the situation where someone was added as a Contact after a number was blocked as a result of an incoming call, but if the number is not shown in Settings > Phone > Blocked you should be OK.

Ip address gone after evrey reboot.

I have already installed my via NIC card in the Sun Solaris10. But now also facing a new funny problem.
The ip address that i have configured in the ethernet interface is gone after rebbot. i want to make it permanent.
1) My ethernet interface name is vfe0
2) The README.txt in the driver bundle of my NIC is suggesting me to edit the file /etc/hostname.vfe0 to fix the IP address.
3) My hostname is sun1 but i cant see any file name /etc/sun1.vfe0
4) if u use the commands
ifconfig vfe0 193.1.1.1 netmask 255.255.255.0 up
ifconfig vfe0 plumb
then i can ping my host. And even see the interface by the commandifconfig -a
But not after reboot.
Please help me to solve it.

I have configured my ethernet interface successfully.
And now it is available after reboot.But a little problem with ip addres still.
Its showing an error message during boot. "interface vfe0 cannot be configured (IP_V4)"
